SpongeBob's Attack Move Set in 'Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl' Revealed

Nicktoon icons are gearing up to slug it out soon in the upcoming platform fighter, Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl. The likes of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Leonardo and Nigel Thornberry from The Wild Thornberrys will be able to hop in the ring with characters like Invader Zim and CatDog in an all out battle to the finish.

We have been seeing a steady stream of reveals and information divulged about the game over the past few weeks, and now we've gotten a closer look at how fans will actually be playing it. The official Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Twitter account has released SpongeBob SquarePants' full move list.

From what we can see here, All-Star Brawl's controls breakdown into three different attack buttons. You have light attack, strong attack, and special attack as the foundation of everything you do on offense.

We also see similar inputs to the Super Smash Bros. series — a franchise that this game takes inspiration from. Neutral or single directional inputs in conjunction with an attack fires off a move, and some moves are done while running or in the air.

For Mr. SquarePants, we see several attacks that are direct references to various episodes, memes and things he does in the show. Down and strong attack unleashes the "Imagination Clap," a maneuver where SpongeBob creates a rainbow over the top of his head — something you have likely seen online at one point or another due to its meme status.

SpongeBob also has the ability to blow bubbles, use his jellyfish net, and karate chop his foes with his large karate gloves.

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is due out on October 5, 2021. In the meantime, be sure to look over SpongeBob's full move set: Horizontal Punch, Up Kick, Floor Sweep, Side Kick, Up Kick (II), Down Swing, Spin Attack, Jellyfish Swing, Kah-Rah-Tay Uppercut, Imaginaaation Clap, Aerial Jellyfish Swing, Kah-Rah-Tay Uppercut (II), Imaginaaation Kick, Running Slip, Bubble Blow, Order Up, Chomp.
