According to an open casting call issued by Central Casting Louisiana, Nickelodeon has been casting kids in the New Orleans, Louisiana area for paid background roles in the NFL Slimetime special, with production "seeking children ages 8–12 of all genders and ethnicities who are excited to participate in a fun, high-energy television shoot featuring an NFL star player." Selected talent must be comfortable getting covered in real slime while filming.
At the time of posting, it's currently unknown whether this was a one-off special, or part of a series of special NFL Slimetime episodes. According to an Instagram flyer, filming took place in the New Orleans Area on Saturday, August 29, however, according to the casting call's official webpage, the casting call expires on Thursday, September 17, which may suggest more episodes are being filmed.

At the time of posting, a sixth season of NFL Slimetime is still to be announced, however, from the above casting call, it looks like the franchise will be returning in a slightly different format.
In the most recent season of NFL Slimetime, viewers could join Nate Burleson, Young Dylan, Dylan Schefter, Mia Burleson and Cameron Jordan to see NFL highlights, interviews, and game picks as they'd never seen them before, and find out which player took home the slimiest trophy in sports, the NVP (Nickelodeon Valuable Player).
