Paramount Hires Amazon Ad Sales Veteran Danielle Carney

Paramount Skydance wants to battle Amazon and Google for digital ad dollars. And to do so, it has lured one of Amazon’s top ad sales executives to aid in the mission.

Danielle Carney, who has in recent years supervised sports ad sales for Amazon Prime Video, is slated to join Paramount Skydance as head of U.S. sales, a position that will take on even more importance as the company works to merge with Warner Bros. Discovery. She will start at Paramount on Monday, March 9.

Business Insider previously reported on Paramount’s new hire.

“As we accelerate toward a streaming-centric future, Danielle’s deep expertise across entertainment, sports and technology is invaluable,” said Jay Askinasi, Paramount’s recently named chief revenue officer. “She will play a critical role in connecting our most valuable assets with brand marketers and agency partners, helping deliver a seamless, client-first experience across the Paramount ecosystem.”

Carney’s arrival is one of the first major staff additions made by Askinasi. A former senior executive at Roku and Publicis Groupe. Askinaski is well liked by many in ad-buying circles, but lacks experience at a mainstream media conglomerate. Hiring Carney, who also has years of experience at Disney and ESPN, may lend Askinasi new ballast as he prepares for his first “upfront” sales market, when TV networks try to sell the bulk of their commercial inventory ahead of their next cycle of programming.

Carney has played a key role in selling Amazon’s sports properties, including Thursday Night Football and the company’s new NBA telecasts. She was on hand to rally interest in Amazon’s new Black Friday franchise, which put an NFL game on the streamer at the very start of holiday-shopping season.

Paramount also hired Chris Brady, as Executive Vice President (EVP) of Paramount Media Labs, a unit devoted to helping advertisers connect with content with techniques including product placement and branded vignettes, among others. He will also start March 9. He had been president and global chief commercial officer at Tribeca Enterprises.

Both Brady and Carney will report to Askinasi.

Get ready for a bumper month ahead as Paramount+ has confirmed what is in store for audiences in March 2026!

There’s continued episodes of the brilliant Star Trek: Starfleet Academy through to the season one finale on Thursday, March 12. The cadets will be joined by the marshals of Yellowstone in a brand new spin-off series which begins on Monday, March 2. This month also seeing the debut of new family drama The Madison which stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell. The series will drop its first three episodes on Saturday, March 14 before ending with three more episodes on Saturday, March 21. Both new series hail from Taylor Sheridan.

Also arriving on Paramount+ on Sunday, March 15 is the highly-anticipated remake of the iconic movie The Naked Gun, starring Liam Neeson as Lt. Frank Drebin Jr., the son of the iconic character made famous by the equally iconic Leslie Nielsen.

Reality TV fans also have a lot to look forward to in March, including an all-new season of Just Tattoo of Us from Tuesday, March 17, plus new episodes Geordie Shore every Tuesday and Canada Shore every Thursday.

Nickelodeon Set to Expand Mexican Feed Across Latin America

Paramount Skydance Corporation has revealed that Nickelodeon is planning to unify its Latin American operations.

In an exclusive interview with our friends over at TVLaint, Paramount Skydance Corporation has revealed that Nickelodeon Latin America (Latinoamérica) is set to discontinue its use of Nickelodeon's European-based pan-regional feed and instead broadcast Nickelodeon México's feed throughout Latin America.

Although the Latin American sub-feed of the pan-regional feed still has programming scheduled up until Thursday, April 30, the estimated date for the feed switch is Wednesday, April 8, barring any last-minute changes. From that moment on, the Mexican signal should be operating on all cable operators in the region, although some may make the change earlier, as is already happening.

According to the company, the unification of the feed responds to the intention to “align the programming strategy so that the signal is similar in all regions, with content that works best with the audience,” highlighting new shows and established titles such as SpongeBob SquarePants, The Loud House, The Smurfs, and Wylde Pak, among others.

The news comes follows DIRECTV Chile's recent decision to remove Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Comedy Central, and MTV from its channel lineup in April, and whether this measure anticipated any wider changes, such as the eventual closure of operations of the four channels in the rest of the Latin American region. Talking to TVLaint, Paramount clarified that “there are no plans to eliminate linear channels in those markets,” ruling out a widespread shutdown in the region.

Paramount's decision to replace the pan-regional feed with the Mexican feed in Latin America is not entirely surprising. In February, both feeds began sharing exactly the same programming schedule, which foreshadowed an eventual unification. In fact, some viewers have already noticed that the Mexican signal is gradually replacing that of the rest of the region on certain cable operators, marking a clear step toward the definitive disintegration of the latter.

The decision is part of a series of transformations that Nickelodeon International has undergone in recent years. At the end of 2023, Paramount significantly reshaped the brand's operation in Latin America by converting the main signal and its sister channel Nick Jr. into automated broadcasts, managed directly from Europe and with unified programming for multiple territories.

In Mexico, this process also took place shortly thereafter, albeit with certain differences. This signal retained its own elements in advertising and credits—the latter eliminated in the Panregional feed—as well as a more defined identity and a technically more stable operation, with fewer on-air errors as a result of more careful maintenance. In addition, it keeps classic episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants in regular rotation, which are not usually broadcast on the Panregional signal because they are not adapted to the 16:9 HD format, with a few exceptions. That is the signal that will now be expanded to the rest of Latin America.

“Of course, Latin America remains a priority for Nickelodeon. Our Nickelodeon channels in Latin America, as well as in other markets around the world, have moved to global broadcasting for the first time, aligning linear systems worldwide by featuring children's favorite programs,” a Paramount spokeswoman explained to TVLaint when asked about those changes in early 2024.

The strategy is not exclusive to the region. Several European Nickelodeon channels, such as those in Spain and Poland, have followed similar paths in recent years. Even TeenNick Latin America, recently discontinued, was a 100% European channel since its launch in 2020, and Nicktoons had previously merged with its European counterpart before its closure in the region.

All this is happening amid a major shakeup in Paramount Skydance Corporation's linear channel portfolio. At the end of 2025, the company shut down Paramount Network, TeenNick, and all MTV-derived signals in Latin America (MTV 80s, MTV 90s, and MTV 00s), as well as NickMusic, which operated as a rebroadcast of the US signal and never had a local version.

Internationally, the cutbacks also included the closure of MTV Hits, MTV Music, Club MTV, and NickMusic EMEA. In Brazil, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., Comedy Central, and MTV also ceased broadcasting, while in the rest of Latin America, these signals continued to operate normally.

Paramount Skydance Corporation recently agreed to acquire Warner Bros. Discovery in a transaction valued at approximately $110 billion, which will consolidate key assets from both conglomerates into a single company, bringing Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network under the same roof. The resulting company will control around 360 television channels in 45 languages, deepening a process of global concentration and reorganization that will inevitably impact the structure of its regional signals.

Following last month’s announcement that George Pig is moderately deaf, the nation’s favourite cartoon dad is stepping up to take on the iconic TCS London Marathon on Sunday 26th April to raise funds and awareness for the National Deaf Children’s Society.

In a first for the beloved Peppa Pig family, Daddy Pig won’t just be running the world’s most popular marathon on screen in an upcoming episode - he’ll be doing it in real life too in a specially designed running costume. Turning the nation’s most famous mass participation event into a powerful moment of visibility, Daddy Pig is swapping his wellies for trainers, to shine a spotlight on children who experience the world differently.


With roughly 54,000 children in the UK affected by hearing loss, Daddy Pig is aiming to raise £54,000 for deaf children and their families supported by the National Deaf Children’s Society. Even the smallest donation can make a huge difference for deaf children. I’m no runner, and training alongside full‑time work and three kids is pushing me to my limits – and I expect Daddy Pig feels the same! - but it’s absolutely worth it to support a charity that means so much to us.”

Peppa Pig has long championed inclusive storytelling, with characters such as Mandy Mouse, who uses a wheelchair, and Penny Polar Bear, who has two mothers, helping children see themselves and their families reflected on screen. The TCS London Marathon storyline builds on this commitment. A recent study by Peppa Pig found that 84% of UK parents believe it’s important for children to consume representative and inclusive media. Among parents of children with hearing loss, 98% said seeing deaf representation in children’s TV has a positive impact, reinforcing the importance of George’s journey both on screen and beyond.

Ahead of the TCS London Marathon, Daddy Pig and the whole Peppa Pig family will also make a special appearance at the TCS Mini London Marathon on Saturday 25th April, inspiring younger participants, families and spectators to get involved in active, inclusive fun. Held around St James’s Park, the TCS Mini London Marathon is the UK’s largest one-day children’s sporting event and those taking part this year will be able to enjoy a number of PEPPA PIG themed activities throughout the day including warm ups, meet & greets and getting hands on with the latest toys in the fan zone area. The National Deaf Children’s Society team will also be on site on the day to share information and raise awareness of childhood deafness.
