'Primate' Key Art

March 16, 2026 – Paramount+ today revealed the post-theatrical premiere date for the creature feature horror film, PRIMATE, which will arrive on the service in the U.S. and Canada Wednesday, March 25.

  • From director Johannes Roberts of 47 Meters Down and The Strangers: Prey at Night, PRIMATE is an adrenaline-fueled, terrifying ride packed with old-school thrills. The film, produced by acclaimed horror producer Walter Hamada (It, The Conjuring) via his exclusive first-look deal with Paramount Pictures, was released theatrically earlier this year and follows a group of friends’ fight for survival after their pet chimpanzee, Ben, goes on a violent rampage, turning a tropical homecoming into a primal tale of horror and survival.
  • The film features bone-chilling performances from Johnny Sequoyah (DEXTER: NEW BLOOD®), Jessica Alexander (The Beauty, The Little Mermaid) and Academy Award®-winning actor Troy Kotsur (CODA, Black Rabbit), as well as Victoria Wyant, Gia Hunter, Benjamin Cheng, Charlie Mann, Tienne Simon and Miguel Torres Umba

    • Upon its debut, PRIMATE received rave reviews from an assortment of critics and currently holds a “Certified Fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Benjamin Lee of The Guardian praised the film’s director, declaring his work on the film as “his savviest and most ruthlessly efficient,” adding that it exemplifies a “filmmaker finding his sweet spot.” Furthermore, Dread Central praised the movie as “a masterfully made horror film” and “a disturbingly scary and frightfully fun” feature, adding “the more unhinged it gets, the more fun it is to watch.”
    • Paramount Pictures Presents, in association with Domain Entertainment, an 18Hz production, PRIMATE. Directed by Johannes Roberts and written by Johannes Roberts and Ernest Riera, PRIMATE is produced by Walter Hamada, p.g.a., John Hodges, p.g.a. and Bradley Pilz. IDW Reveals New Details for ‘TMNT’ #300 and Kevin Eastman Variant for 'The Last Ronin: Training Day'

IDW Publishing has revealed new details for TMNT #300, including new story details, the next major event The City That Never Dies, and a special Kevin Eastman variant for The Last Ronin: Training Day.

'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #300' Cover Art Variant

IDW Publishing is preparing a major celebration for TMNT #300 (technically Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #20 in the current ongoing series), and have unveiled new details on what fans can expect when the milestone issue arrives.

The anniversary issue will look back across the entire history of the iconic franchise while also launching the next big era of Turtle storytelling.

As part of the celebration, Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz are teaming up for a special backup story that takes readers on a journey through TMNT history. The story serves as a tribute to the franchise, bringing together all-star returning artists from different eras of the series to help guide readers through the Turtles’ past.

The story also connects directly to recent events in the ongoing series.

Following the multiversal chaos unleashed during the Battle Nexus event, time traveler Renet has been assigned the unenviable task of repairing the fractured TMNT timeline. Her mission sends readers through key moments in Turtle history, turning the anniversary issue into both a celebration and a story that ties together the past, present, and future of the franchise.

But TMNT #300 is not only about honoring the past.

The issue will also launch the next major TMNT event: “The City That Never Dies.” The new storyline will be written by Gene Luen Yang with artwork by Freddie E. Williams II, setting the stage for the next chapter of the Turtles’ saga.

And if fans thought Master Splinter’s return from the dead would come without consequences, they may want to think again.

“As a new member of the editorial team, it has been absolutely incredible to be able to jump into the world of TMNT right as we celebrate 300 issues! We have a lot of really exciting things planned for issue 300 that you’re all going to love.

Following the multiversal chaos of our Battle Nexus event, Renet has been tasked (well, more like punished) with cleaning up the TMNT timeline. Kevin Eastman and Tom Waltz have written a walk down TMNT memory lane with the help of some all-star returning artists from each era!

But that’s not all for 300, we are also starting the next big epic TMNT event, THE CITY THAT NEVER DIES, written by Gene Luen Yang and drawn by Freddie E. Williams II. Did you really think Master Splinter could just come back from the dead with no ramifications? This is comics! No one ever just comes back from the dead! Come on!

We also have some fantastic covers from some fan-favorite TMNT artists as well as one artist who after 42 years is finally taking his slice of pizza. But all of that will be revealed soon enough…

    Get ready to shellabrate!”
    — Tommy Stella, Assistant Editor

As an added bonus, IDW has also revealed a Kevin Eastman variant cover for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin – Training Day, featuring colors by Fahriza Kamaputra.

With TMNT #300 celebrating the franchise’s long legacy while launching a brand new era of storytelling, fans should make sure to preorder the ongoing TMNT series ahead of the milestone issue. Readers will also want to preorder The Last Ronin: Training Day as the next chapter of the Ronin saga approaches. Both issues are slated to be released in July 2026.

Animation Magazine Names 'Avatar: Seven Havens' Supervising Director Alexandra Chiu In 2026 List of Rising Stars of Animation

Animation Magazine has named Alexandra Chiu, who is currently serving as a Supervising Director on Nickelodeon Animation's upcoming Paramount+ Original animated series, Avatar: Seven Havens, as one of 2026's Rising Stars of Animation!

Avatar: Seven Havens / Alexandra Chiu

The animation landscape is constantly shifting, but what remains constant is the importance of artists and visionaries whose passion for the art form elevates the shorts, TV shows and movies we love. This year's list of 15 “rising stars” was created by casting a wide net and tracking down a few of the amazing men and women who are working on some of the most anticipated projects of the year. You can read more about each honoree in this year's Rising Stars of Animation at animationmagazine.net.

    Alexandra Chiu
Supervising Director, Avatar: Seven Havens (Nickelodeon, Paramount+)
    Age: 33
    Birthplace: New York
School: Washington University in St. Louis

First time I knew I wanted to work in animation: I didn’t learn that a career in animation was a thing until I got to college. I always loved to draw as a kid but always thought it was only for a hobby, or the only job you could get in the arts field was as a fine arts painter or as a CG specialist. When I learned about storyboarding as a career and what it entailed (my junior year in college) — it’s like something clicked, and I realized it aligned a lot with what I’ve always loved all along, and that was telling stories in a visual way. I knew then that was the field I wanted to work in.

My first job in animation: I started on Marvel’s Spider-Man in 2015 as a storyboard revisionist.

What I love about my current project: I can’t say a whole lot, but as a longtime fan of Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra, it’s been an honor and a joy to work on Seven Havens, alongside a truly wonderful and crazy talented crew who care about their craft!

The most challenging aspect of it: I jokingly call it my greed, because I often find myself wanting to draw everything on the project. But we only have a finite amount of time to accomplish the things we want to accomplish, so understanding and prioritizing where to place my focus, and also my bandwidth, has always been a tricky thing to balance. I do believe that a balanced life can lead to producing better work.

Favorite animated show/movie growing up: I adored Cardcaptor Sakura growing up and enjoyed Disney movies; I was also a big Naruto and One Piece kid, and those works still influence me to this day. I first watched Samurai Champloo when I was in college, and that, to this day, is still my favorite series of all time.

Best career advice: I was once told that each project/episode is like an opportunity to try something new, and something about that really resonated with me. I like to pursue projects not for the title, but if the opportunity offers me a chance to learn something new. Improving craft, and learning new skills, is a lifelong journey, and the talent in this industry is astounding — meaning, that no matter what, every project you go to offers you a chance to learn a new skill, which I think is just neat!

Long-term goals: To continue to work in animation, mostly help make my friends’ shows or projects I believe in come to life. I’d love to work on a fantasy series with a focus on female friendships one day.

In addition to Chiu, Animation Magazine has also named Aaron Austin, who currently serves as a Story Artist on Forgotten Island for DreamWorks Animation, as a Rising Star of Animation in this year's list! Austin's first job in animation was as a revisionist, then a storyboard artist on Harvey Beaks, and then a few months later became a storyboard artist on the same show.

    Aaron Austin
Story Artist, Forgotten Island (DreamWorks Animation)
    Age: 36
    Birthplace: Houston
    School: Brigham Young University

    Aaron Austin

First time I knew I wanted to work in animation: I’d always loved drawing but wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with it. In high school, someone from an art college came and spoke to students about different careers in art and animation. It was the first time I realized that I could aspire to a job like that. I remember thinking, “Wait, I love animation and video games, of course that’s what I want to pursue.” Before that I had no real concept of what an art job could be. For a while I thought, “Maybe I’ll design album covers for bands, that’s gotta be a job right?” To this day I haven’t designed any album covers, but it’s OK; I’m at peace with that. I like my current job a lot.

My first job in animation: I was in my last year of college when someone from Nickelodeon reached out to me asking if I’d apply to be a storyboard artist for a show called Harvey Beaks. Turns out they had seen my work on Tumblr. I did a story test and got a job as a revisionist, and then a few months later became a storyboard artist on the same show.

What I love about my current project: Forgotten Island has literally been a dream to work on. It has such fun characters, such an amazing world and so much heart and humanity! Also so many jokes. I love jokes. I think my favorite part of the project is that I can pitch ridiculous and incredibly insane jokes and they make it into the movie. I don’t think any production has ever valued my absurd sense of humor this much, and that really means a lot to me.

The most challenging aspect of it: I think the most challenging part of any storyboarding job is how often you have to summon the emotional willpower to make an entertaining and engaging story. Some days you just feel like rotting face down in a gutter, but you have to clock into the studio and make silly, happy stuff and make the world smile. It can be hard! But when you’re able to get there and make it happen, it can be very satisfying.

Favorite animated show/movie growing up: I love so many things, and I’m so moody and all over the place that every day I have a new favorite thing. That being said, growing up I soaked up ’90s Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network cartoons like a sponge, and I think those attached to my DNA and formed the basis of who I am today.

Best career advice: I think it’s really important to have a fun and fulfilling life outside of work, especially as a story artist. You can’t create stories if you’re not out living your own story. You won’t have anything to bring to a project. It’s like trying to cook a meal when your fridge is empty. Work-life balance is so important, and it makes you better at your job anyways, so jokes on you, all you workaholics.

Long-term goals: If I can just be a silly-goose story artist for the rest of my days that’s good with me! Career-wise, that’s all I need. On the personal side, I love making comics. I’m actually working to publish my first comic this year! I’d also love to win the lottery, that would be awesome.

Production on Hollywood Arts season one has officially wrapped production!

    'Hollywood Arts' Wrap
    Daniella Monet

"Last night we celebrated the wrap of our first season at Hollywood Arts together. Just shared the journey to this point and my thank you’s to everyone along the way in an open letter ❤️," Daniella Monet, who's reprising her Victorious role of Trina in the series, posted to Instagram.

A brand-new spinoff of Nickelodeon's hit live-action comedy series Victorious, which aired from 2010-2013, the series is set to debut on Netflix in 2026, followed by releases on Nickelodeon and Paramount+. Production on the show commenced in October 2025 in Vancouver, Canada. The show has been picked up for 26 episodes.

In this all-new series, struggling actress Trina Vega (Daniella Monet), the older sister of Tori Vega (Victoria Justice), returns to her former high school, Hollywood Arts, as an unqualified substitute teacher, quickly finding herself both clashing with and unexpectedly inspiring a new generation of ambitious and talented students as they learn to find their true path at Hollywood's most elite performing arts school.

The cast also includes: Alyssa Miles (Hanging out with Alyssa and Xavier) as Emmy; Emmy Liu-Wang (Raven's HomeSlumber Party) as Pepper; Peyton Jackson (Woman in the YardYoung Dylan) as Qwest; Erika Swayze (School SpiritsDavey & Jonesie's LockerWorkin' Moms) as Jen Z; and Martin Kamm (Unsung HeroWeb of Spiderman) as Oscar. Nickelodeon legend Yvette Nicole Brown (Drake & JoshCommunity) will also feature as a guest star, reprising her role of Principal Helen Dubois.

It is unclear yet whether other original Victorious cast members, including lead Victoria Justice, Wicked star Ariana Grande, and Grammy winner Leon Thomas will appear on Hollywood Arts.

Hollywood Arts is executive produced by Jake Farrow and Samantha Martin, who also serve as the show's showrunners, alongside Jonathan Judge (The Really Loud HouseMy Weird School), who also directs the series, and cast member Monet.

The Hollywood Arts pilot (first) episode is directed by, and was penned by Jake Farrow & Samantha Martin. The series is produced by Paramount Television Studios.

Production of the series is overseen by Shauna Phelan, who served as Executive Vice President (EVP), Live Action Series and Film & Talent, Nickelodeon & Awesomeness TV when the show was first announced (Phelan has since stood down from that position, however, she still serves as a producer on select titles at Paramount Television Studios) along with Brian Banks, Vice President, Live-Action, Current Series, Nickelodeon & Awesomeness TV serves as Executive in Charge.

"Coming back as Trina alongside such a dynamic, powerful cast of newcomers is something I feel very lucky and grateful to do," said Monet when the series was first announced. adding "Victorious was in a lot of ways life changing for all of us, our cast is forever bonded by that experience, and to think that I have an opportunity to steward anything close to that is a feeling I can't begin to describe. As an actress, producer, and mom, I am so eager to create something we can all be proud to share with the world."

Victorious premiered on Nickelodeon in March 2010 and wrapped its four-season run in 2013, ranking as the #1 program in its premiere time slot across all TV with Kids 2-11, Kids 6-11, Tweens 9-14 and Teens 12-17 and as basic cable's number one show in its time slot with total viewers. The scripted half-hour series follows teenager Tori Vega, as she navigates her way through the prestigious performing arts high school Hollywood Arts, alongside her older sister Trina and other talented students.

All episodes of Victorious are currently available on Netflix in the US. Since the beginning of 2024 Victorious has accumulated over 45M views on Netflix alone.

My Last Six Months at Hollywood Arts. Back in Trina Vega’s Shoes… I Mean Heels;)

    buckle up, this one’s a diary entry…

    Mar 16, 2026

For those of you who don’t know, for the past few months we have been filming the Victorious spinoff, Hollywood Arts. Last night we celebrated the wrap of our first season at Hollywood Arts together, and in addition to the love I shared for our crew last night, I wish I also got to share a little about the journey to this point.

It was March of 24’ when I saw Jake Farrow’s name pop up on my phone. I’ll never forget the exact moment because, ironically (but not at all, because all is aligned, especially because “alignment” just so happened to be my word of that year), his call caught me in no other than the streets of Vancouver on my first day off of my first job back since becoming a mom. Excuse me while I paint the scene a bit…It was a sunny day, I had just picked up a sweet treat from my favorite local vegan bakery ‘To Live For’, the cherry blossoms were in full bloom along this sweet little neighborhood sidewalk and I had an hour walk to process the what-if’s. Trina… again??!

It wasn’t long before I was in a group chat with him and his creative partner Sam Martin, who believe it or not, we too share a full-circle moment. Sam and I had met when we were 16 and I was lucky enough to play HER in a sitcom I hold close to my heart called ‘Listen Up’ created by her dad, Jeff Martin. Listen Up was my very first multi cam series, one that taught me so much.

Cut to me sitting discussing those same “what if’s” at a fancy lunch table on the Paramount lot full of people with the power to make a potential spin-off happen for real (WHAT THE HECK).

Meanwhile, Jake and Sam worked their cute little faces off to develop and perfect what we know now as our Hollywood Arts pilot.

Slowly but surely things began to fall into place. A few things that mattered the most from the jump (and then I’ll get to the thank-yous) were that our sets felt the same and that casting was 100%. We got our production designer, Tristan Dalley, from Victorious and the cast of our dreams.

Alyssa Miles, Erika Swayze, Emmy Liu-Wang, Peyton Jackson, and Martin Kamm. This is our show. Meant to be from the second we all connected.

Your talent, passion, and heart inspire me. I feel so lucky to share this experience with each of you. This show has a unique feeling, a brightness to it…we’ve heard it countless times, but it’s true. If I could bottle this up and savor this feeling with all of you forever, I would. No matter what happens, I’m here, always. You’re a star in my eyes in more ways than one, and I can’t wait to cheer you on as you continue to light up rooms, stages, and screens wherever you go.

And the #1 rule, and really only rule we collectively had was that every single person who touched this project must pass the vibe check.

The last 6 months were carried out by some of the hardest-working, well-spirited individuals I’ve ever had the pleasure of working alongside.

And this is when I’d ask everyone to give it up for:

Our casting department - original to Victorious!! Every single one of our directors!! Carl our camera coordinator, and all his camera operators!! Director of photography and the entire lighting department!! Our hard-working AD department!! Warut, manning our continuity!! The INCREDIBLE and robust art department — set dec, construction, greens, PROPS!! The man who wore many hats, our choreographer Ryan, and his dream of a sidekick, Travis Lim… you guys worked your butts off, and this show has a literal heartbeat in the form of dance thanks to you both and all of your talented dancers!! Our dialogue coach, Jean-Luc who caught us every time we fell with a line, note, or delivery adjustment!! Our stand-ins!! Our guest stars!! Our STUNT department - thank you, Sluggo and fam!! The entire production office for handling ALL THE THINGS!! Morgan and Jasmina for being a right hand and then some-that blooper reel, ah!! Our social media team(s), including Zoe from mine :)) !! Accounting for keeping the lights on and getting us paid!! Our producer Richard for being a rare GEM of a human being while keeping it all together!! Our support system for overseeing all the pieces of this puzzle… Brin, Shauna, Don, Jonathon, and our studio execs at Netflix/Skydance-Paramount/Awesomeness/Nickelodeon!! Ugh, our lovely drivers who got us to and from work daily, and all of transpo who kept our trailers up!! Our extras casting, who made our background and continuity players feel seen and heard!! Niki and Zack Hexum, Sam, Dylan, Almond, and everyone who played a part in creating the INSANE HITS (omg!!) and every musical element along the way!! Our catering crew - Barb, ya get me!! The safety and crafty team!! Our grips, sound, spfx, vfx guys and gals!! And give it up for our COSTUME and HAIR AND MAKE UP departments — collectively you brought characters to LIFE, you made them real and were by our side every step of the way.

Now it’s all in the hands of our POST TEAM!! Thank you to Jonathan Judge, and all our editors manning the most nuanced bits and pieces frame by frame to wrap this show up in a pretty bow for the world to enjoy.

The patience, the professionalism, the good vibes.
    Thank you.

    xx,

    Daniella
