LOS ANGELES, Aug. 26, 2026 -- The Creative Educators Network (CEN) returns to Burbank September 23 through September 25, 2026 with a high-impact event celebrating creative educators and connecting them to the robust creative industries of Los Angeles. This year's Institute will celebrate individuals who are making a great impact on creative workforce education and will offer a three-day program with a full slate of Friday Field Trips hosted by leading industry partners.
Kick-Off Event
This year's Kick-Off Event will feature the third annual Mitchell McClung Awards, honoring an outstanding creative educator and industry partner for their commitment to preparing young creatives. The Creative Educators Network congratulates this year's recipients: Julia Pinhey, Visual and Performing Arts Director & Technical Theatre Instructor at Santa Susana High School, and Sony Pictures Entertainment. Sony Pictures Entertainment is a longtime supporter of Creative Educators Network and its annual Sony Ambassador program, which provides 20 students with training and real work experience at the Institute. Sony Pictures' award will be accepted on their behalf by Lani Monos, Vice President, Global Corporate Social Responsibility.
"This year's winners embody the service and commitment to the field that the Mitchell McClung Award celebrates. Julia Pinhey's rigorous, industry-connected Technical Theatre program at Santa Susana prepares students to turn their passion into careers, with many going on to work professionally across Los Angeles. This year, the Institute will also posthumously honor Herb Trawick, celebrated producer and record executive, with a special Mitchell McClung Award recognizing his lasting contributions to the industry and his instrumental work on the new CA-AED Standards.

First up, TMNT: Shredder #15 arrives Wednesday, December 23, and Dan Watters and Sid Kotian are giving Oroku Saki a challenge even he may not be prepared for: diplomacy. Now leading the EPF, Shredder has survived wars, personal tragedy, and even a journey through Hell, but sitting down with international diplomats could prove considerably more painful. Of course, anyone hoping for a quiet meeting probably hasn’t been paying attention to Shredder’s life.
Then, Peter Laird and Jim Lawson continue TMNT: Journeys with issue #17 on Wednesday, January 6. Multiple Turtles find themselves in trouble as Michelangelo’s time with Regenta is interrupted by a deadly threat from beneath the sea, Leonardo interrogates the mysterious opponent he recently battled, Raphael’s mutated rampage continues, and Donatello tries to learn more about the predicament facing his fellow shrunken prisoners.

Paramount+ and Alliance Home Entertainment have announced their physical releases for Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender. A follow-up to Nickelodeon's widely-acclaimed animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender, the animated film will be available to own on Blu-ray and DVD Tuesday, November 3, 2026, followed by a 4K Ultra HD Steelbook on Tuesday, February 9, 2027.

September 1, 2026 – New York, NY – Paramount+ and Alliance Home Entertainment announce the home video release of Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender. Directed by Lauren Montgomery and starring Eric Nam and Steven Yuen, the epic saga will be available on Blu-ray™ and DVD on November 3 and on 4K Ultra HD™ SteelBook on February 9.
Based on the beloved Nickelodeon animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender, Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender is the epic feature-film continuation richly reimagined and authentically cast. It’s an Avatar for today’s audiences.
Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender premiered on Paramount+ in July and currently holds a staggering 90% ‘Certified Fresh’ status on Rotten Tomatoes’ Tomatometer and a 99% ‘Verified Hot’ status on its Popcornmeter; critics and audiences agree that the animated adventure is an impressive update of the series.
Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender was directed by Lauren Montgomery with series creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko serving as producers. The film stars Eric Nam, Steven Yeun, Dave Bautista, and Jessica Matten.

Synopsis: Avatar Aang, the world’s last Airbender, learns of an ancient power that could save his people from extinction. Aided by a group of diverse benders and skilled warriors, Aang embarks on a global quest to find the power before it falls into the wrong hands and threatens to upend the peace they sacrificed everything to achieve.
The film was directed by Montgomery (Justice League: Doom, Wonder Woman, Voltron: Legendary Defender, The Legend of Korra) and co-directed by Steve Ahn (Voltron: Legendary Defender) and William Mata (Dora and the Fantastical Creatures). Producers include Latifa Ouaou, Maryann Garger and original creators Bryan Konietzko and Michael Dante DiMartino. The screenplay was written by Tim Hedrick and Christopher Yost, with the story by Konietzko, DiMartino, Tim Hedrick and Kenneth Lin.
Avatar Aang stars Eric Nam as Aang, Dave Bautista as new villain Tagah, Jessica Matten as Katara, Román Zaragoza as Sokka, Steven Yeun as Zuko and Dionne Quan as Toph, alongside Freida Pinto, Ke Huy Quan, Taika Waititi, Geraldine Viswanathan, Ronny Chieng and Ken Jeong. Dee Bradley Baker reprises his roles as Aang’s beloved pets, Appa and Momo.
The Blu-ray and HUD editions of Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender will also come with a digital code.
Matt Bennett is officially set to appear in an episode of Netflix’s upcoming Victorious spinoff, Hollywood Arts, alongside Daniella Monet, who is reprising her role as Trina Vega.

Bennett will return as Robbie Shapiro, marking the character’s first appearance since appearing in the iCarly x Victorious spin-off Sam & Cat in 2014.
It's currently unknown whether Robbie's ventriloquist dummy, Rex Powers, will also be making a return. Bennett recently released a few photos of his time on the Hollywood Arts set on Instagram with the caption, "Robbie and Trina 2010-2026 ❤️".
The new series follows Trina as she returns to Hollywood Arts as a substitute teacher and encounters a new generation of students.

The reunion also brings another familiar face behind the camera, as Nathan Kress is set to direct an episode of the series. Kress previously starred as Freddie Benson on the original iCarly, along with its recent revival. Kress is no stranger to directing, having directed episodes of Henry Danger, Game Shakers, and iCarly (2021).
"So incredibly honored to have the opportunity to direct this wonderful and RIDICULOUSLY talented team over at Hollywood Arts for a couple episodes," Kress said on Instagram, sharing a few behind-the-scenes photos. "The infectious energy on that set, the love of the craft, the music... the MUSIC, you guys. I can't tell you how excited I am for you to see what we've been working on. Check it out on Netflix on October 15th!!!"
Hollywood Arts is currently scheduled to premiere on Netflix on Thursday, October 15, with the 26-episode series later coming to Nickelodeon and Paramount+.

Nickelodeon recently filmed a NFL Slimetime special, it has been revealed!

According to an open casting call issued by Central Casting Louisiana, Nickelodeon has been casting kids in the New Orleans, Louisiana area for paid background roles in the NFL Slimetime special, with production "seeking children ages 8–12 of all genders and ethnicities who are excited to participate in a fun, high-energy television shoot featuring an NFL star player." Selected talent must be comfortable getting covered in real slime while filming.
At the time of posting, it's currently unknown whether this was a one-off special, or part of a series of special NFL Slimetime episodes. According to an Instagram flyer, filming took place in the New Orleans Area on Saturday, August 29, however, according to the casting call's official webpage, the casting call expires on Thursday, September 17, which may suggest more episodes are being filmed.
