Today marks a major milestone in the TMNT: Splintered Fate timeline. The King’s Gambit, our biggest free update yet, is available now. This update completes the game’s main story while introducing new challenges for both newcomers and veteran players alike. Experience everything this massive update has to offer including a new loyal Home Lair Ally.

THE KING’S GAMBIT - OUR MOST AMBITIOUS UPDATE, FREE FOR ALL PLAYERS
The wait is finally over! Coming with The King’s Gambit update, the infamous Rat King has officially taken center stage as the ultimate threat to the Turtles and their brave allies. This formidable end-game boss is waiting for you deep within his realm, but reaching him won't be easy. This encounter only becomes available after you've proven your mettle by defeating Shredder multiple times and successfully rescuing Master Splinter.
The Rat King doesn't fight alone, though. His intense and challenging run will test your reflexes and combat abilities to their absolute limit. In a terrifying display of power, he can even summon other powerful bosses to fight by his side as if they were mere minions. If you manage to overcome this overwhelming challenge and beat him, you'll unlock a new ending, and the finale for our main TMNT:SF campaign! Good luck, heroes, you’re definitely going to need it.
If you need a break from challenging the Rat King, feel free to unwind with Pepperoni around the Lair. This cute little dinosaur joins the Turtles for free in our newest update! Keep an eye on your pizza, though, she might steal a slice!
NEW PLAYABLE CHARACTER DLC - SLASH JOINS THE FIGHT!
Everyone’s favorite lovable, well-cultured, yet famously short-tempered Turtle has finally arrived! Slash is officially joining the playable character roster, bringing the total number of heroes to eight. Towering over both friends and foes, Slash uses his massive claws and sheer physical strength to pulverize anyone standing in his way, being a true force of nature on the battlefield.
While he might lack the speed of his friends, Slash more than makes up for it with incredible fortitude. You can body slam and roll through enemy ranks with ease, utilizing his unique knockback abilities to control the flow of combat. For those looking to optimize their build, Slash has a natural affinity for Water and Ooze powers, but don't be afraid to experiment with other elements too! Plus, this DLC includes five brand-new Artifacts that will augment your Playstyle.
Additionally, players can tap into Slash's signature Enraged mode! This special ability allows him to move faster and deal devastating extra damage for a short period. You can also call down a meteoric explosion using his unique Tool to deal massive Dark damage to nearby enemies. Get ready to let the rage out and unlock Slash by defeating Leatherhead.

Patch notes - King’s Gambit Update

Hey, Turtle Fans!
This is the long-awaited update we’ve been incredibly excited to share with you! We always intended for the original story's mystery to be just the beginning, and we’re thrilled to finally bring you the complete, epic conclusion to the main campaign that you’ve been waiting for. Thanks to your support, we have been able to return with the King’s Gambit update, which ties up some major mysteries remaining after Splinter is rescued. Now is your chance to embark on another mission involving new story, levels, and our final boss, all for free, available right now! And don’t forget the Gauntlet Challenge at the end!
This release also brings support for a brand new playable character: Slash! This DLC is now available for purchase in the store. Slash has been a much-requested addition to the game, and we had so much fun bringing him to life. He’s a tanky bruiser sure to mess up the Foot Clan in his own signature smashing style.
We have also added support for the Samurai Armor Pack DLC, which allows all playable characters to transform into Samurai-inspired warriors.

MAJOR UPDATES
- New Campaign Content Extension
- After beating Shredder for good and rescuing Splinter, the new content picks up in the Home Lair where a new location will open up to a showdown with our new final boss
- Beat the Rat King multiple times to advance the new narrative and reach the True Ending of the game!
- Upon completing the new story, a Gauntlet Challenge will appear as a Hex option in the starting room
- New Playable Character DLC: Slash
- Basic Attack: Claw
- Special: Embrace the Rage - Enter a Rage Mode with increased movement and attack speed
- Starting Tool: Extinction Meteor - automatically targets a meteor at an enemy that explodes in Dark damage
- Unlock Slash after defeating Leatherhead for the first time
- New Samurai Armor Pack DLC
- Equip Samurai outfits for all playable characters from the Character Select screen after purchasing the DLC
- These outfits will not display in dialogue in order to preserve the intended narrative experience, but will display throughout the HUD UI

- Save System overhaul
- We have updated the save system to be more robust in support of fixing issues causing lost progression
- Added a backup save system that is automatically loaded in the event of the primary save becoming corrupted.
BALANCE UPDATES
- Donatello
- Increased Donatello's Final Strike and Dash Attack damage
- Donatello’s dash attack has been modified to more smoothly flow back into his attack combo.
- Donatello’s affinities have been changed from “Utrom and Ooze” to “Utrom and Robotics”
- UI Updates
- Made adjustments to the appearance of some menus, such as the pause menu, room rewards, and dragon/dreamer/artifact stations
- Adjusted the size and resolution of numerous UI elements across the game.
- Misc
- Updated the room transition timer from 10 to 15 seconds when all players are not in the transition area to allow for more buying time.
- The ‘Heart of Tengu’ artifact is now unlocked when rescuing Slash from Leatherhead.
BUGS FIXED
- Shuriken can now proc darkness on hit when players have both Shuriken Engineer and Shadow Abilities.
- Fixed an issue where the server would crash if a client erroneously sent multiple connect packets.
- Fixed an issue where save files could hold onto superfluous data, eventually resulting in issues connecting to online multiplayer games.
- Fixed a bug in the dragon upgrade station where maxed out upgrades would no longer be aligned with upgrades that were not maxed out.
- Updated a few conversations that were missing VO
- Several client and server crash fixes.
