Anna Williamson Reunites with 'Camp Orange' UK Contestant Georgia Steel on 'Celebs Go Dating' Season 6 | Nickelodeon UK

British reality television dating programme Celebs Go Dating recently announced season six's new star studded line up, and revealed that Anna Williamson would be replacing Nadia Essex as a dating agent.

Anna Williamson and Georgia Steel previously knew each other [Instagram/ Anna Williamson]

The former Nickelodeon UK & Ireland presenter and This Morning & Good Morning Britain (GMB) relationship expert and Paul C Brunson will be helping the likes of Love Island's Georgia Steel, Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona, The Only Way Is Essex's Pete Wicks, Megan McKenna, Ibiza Weekender's head rep David Potts, Waterloo Road and and Hollyoaks actor Chelsee Healey to find love.

However, speaking to OK! online, new coach Anna revealed that it wasn't the first time she had met one of the famous faces!

Georgia Steel previously appeared on Nickelodeon show Camp Orange [Nickelodeon]

Confessing that she had previously worked with Love Island star Georgia on Nickelodeon TV show Camp Orange when she was a teenager, Anna said that initially it was strange to see her walking into the agency.

Georgia was part of Team Yorky Corkies in the first series of Camp Orange UK, Nickelodeon's game show in which friends teamed up to take on the ultimate 'bush' challenge (Georgia teamed up with her BFF Elsie Cussons), in 2011. Anna hosted the series Jamie Rickers.

"Georgia’s an interesting one for me, she was actually the first celebrity I met joining the agency," Anna said. "When she walked in I sort of had a bit of an eye roll, like oh my god, here we go.

"I’d known her from a previous show in my kids telly days when she was a fresh faced teenager. She is now all grown up. It's a bit like mumma's come home".

Admitting that her previous working relationship with Georgia meant that she treated her differently from the other stars, Anna continued: "I’m probably even more strict with Georgia, because we go back. She’s a good girl but she’s got some work to do.

She added: "I think Georgia’s brilliant, she’s beautiful and certainly one of the most confident people I’ve ever met. Even when she was 13 confidence was something that was in her bones.

"I think we need to draw out that little soft marshmallow that was inside."

Georgia Steel appeared on the show that Anna Williamson presented [Nickelodeon]

Anna also opened up about her connection to Georgia on social media, as she took to Instagram on her first day at the Celebrity Dating Agency and shared a selfie with the reality starlet.

Posing with her mouth open in disbelief, Anna wrote: "Now THIS is a blast from the past...it feels like only yesterday I was wrangling a 13 year old @geesteelx on @nickelodeonuk #camporange...

"And today we're reunited for @celebsgodating where I'll be helping guide this now young lady in love #blastfromthepast #ifeelold".

Discussing how excited she was to be guiding Georgia and the rest of the stars in their quest for love, Anna added to OK! online: "To be able to get the call and come on board with Celebs Go Dating was a dream come true. I’m so, so honoured.

"I don’t think it’s really sunk in yet, because it’s a big show and people have a lot of love for it. I just really want to do the show and the viewers justice."

Celebs Go Dating series six is slated to premiere on E4 in 2019. Previous contestants on the show include Diversity crew member and fellow Nickelodeon UK presenter Perri Kiely. Mottingham comedian Rob Beckett narrates.

Georgia appeared on the 2018 series of Love Island with another Nickelodeon star: Eyal Booker, one of the models in Nickelodeon UK & Ireland's Nick@Nite idents!:

Nickelodeon UK Presenters Jamie Rickers And Anna Williamson Contribute Ideas For Summer Activities To Sainsbury's Bumper Book Of Summer

The official website of the local British newspaper Gazette, gazetteseries.co.uk, is reporting in the following article the exciting news that, to celebrate summer, Nickelodeon UK and Ireland presenters Anna Williamson and Jamie Rickers (Nick UK's "Camp Orange", "Jamie's & Anna's Big Weekend", "UPick Summer") have contributed to Sainsbury's Bumper Book Of Summer to help children get the most fun out of the British and Irish school summer holidays!

Instead of just leaving kids to their own devices, mums and dads looking for inspiration can get help from the new Sainsbury's Bumper Book Of Summer.

The book, written by family games author Josie Curran, is packed with great ideas for activities designed to help families have a fun summer without blowing the budget, and also features ideas from Sainsbury's Active Kids ambassadors David Beckham and Ellie Simmonds.

Ideas include holding a Wacky Races competition in the garden, going on a Torch Treasure Hunt, making pictures from pasta, and creating a Human Fruit Machine with boxes and real fruit.

"Anna and I had lots of fun trying out the activities, and I'm thrilled that one of my favourite games when I was a kid, den building, made it into the book", said Rickers. "It can be done indoors or outdoors with whatever you have lying around the house, and once you've built your own den, it's great fun to play at being a secret agent." Williamson adds: "The book is full of inspiration for kids whatever their interests are", adding "Summer is about more than taking time off school. It's about having fun, using your imagination, and making new friends and memories.":
How to entertain the children during the holidays without breaking the bank?

ENTERTAINING the kids over the school summer holidays can seem worryingly expensive, but it doesn't have to break the bank.

As the school summer holidays approach, many parents will be preparing for their children's inevitable "I'm bored" moans.

But for cash-strapped families, beating the boredom with expensive day trips may be out of the question, and cheaper home-made fun could be the best option.

Research by the Nationwide Building Society suggests more than half (58%) of parents are worried about how they'll finance entertainment for the kids and childcare during the holidays, with 25% not having planned how they'll pay for it.

A separate study by VoucherCodes.co.uk found that 69% of parents questioned were planning to take their kids on day trips to zoos or tourist attractions, and 34% were hoping to visit a theme park.

But a massive 86% said such activities were expensive, and only a quarter could afford them.

It's not just the less well-off families that are feeling the pinch. One-in-10 higher income parents (earning more than £60,000 a year) admitted expensive days out simply weren't possible this year, with a quarter agreeing that their children expected lots of fun activities without realising the price tag.

Figures compiled by the national charity 4Children show just how much prices have risen in recent years - the charity says the cost of buying tickets on the day for a family of five to Alton Towers has increased by 57% over the last four years, from £126.50 in 2009 to £198 in 2013; by 42% at Legoland Windsor, from £141.90 in 2009 to £201 in 2013, and by 20% at Thorpe Park, from £115 to £138.

Anne Longfield, chief executive of 4Children, says: "Days out can strengthen bonds and build shared family experiences and memories that we know are so important.

"But the financial pressures facing families are already deeply concerning and, when combined with the escalating costs of attractions and transport, the traditional family day out is increasingly under threat."

However, parents worried about how they'll afford summer entertainment should remember that kids are very good at entertaining themselves, and plenty of cheap and cheerful fun at home could be a great boredom-buster.

Instead of just leaving kids to their own devices, mums and dads looking for inspiration can get help from the new Sainsbury's Bumper Book Of Summer.

Packed with ideas for activities designed to help families have a fun summer without blowing the budget, it was written by family games author Josie Curran and features ideas from Sainsbury's Active Kids ambassadors David Beckham and Ellie Simmonds, as well as Nickelodeon TV presenters Anna Williamson and Jamie Rickers.

Ideas include holding a Wacky Races competition in the garden, going on a Torch Treasure Hunt, making pictures from pasta, and creating a Human Fruit Machine with boxes and real fruit.

Rickers says: "Anna and I had lots of fun trying out the activities, and I'm thrilled that one of my favourite games when I was a kid, den building, made it into the book.

"It can be done indoors or outdoors with whatever you have lying around the house, and once you've built your own den, it's great fun to play at being a secret agent."

Williamson adds: "The book is full of inspiration for kids whatever their interests are.

"Summer is about more than taking time off school. It's about having fun, using your imagination, and making new friends and memories."

Author Josie Curran says that, as a parent herself, she understands the constant challenge of trying to come up with new games and activities to keep kids active over summer.

"I've made sure there's a wide range of activities for kids of different ages and who have different interests," she promises.

Many parents will be tempted to use the TV and computers as 'babysitters', but Mumsnet founder Justine Roberts warns that while that's fine sometimes, parents should also try to get creative.

"Don't sweat it though," she says, "the kids know you're not a Blue Peter presenter.

"Kids relish the chance to get creative and messy both indoors and out. Who says you can't set up tents in the living room and throw a teddy bears' picnic complete with dressing up?

"Sometimes the best family activities can be done on the cheap."

She suggests making a packed lunch and taking younger children on the bus to try a different playground across town, and making the most of playdates for older children, as "sometimes all it takes is a buddy over to keep them happy".

Roberts points out that annual membership to a local farm or adventure playground means parents can save money long-term by making multiple trips, and adds: "The golden rule is to keep it simple.

"Sometimes the best days boil down to outdoor space and dry weather, or, if we're realistic, outdoor space and wet weather. "Above all it's worth reminding yourself that the summer holidays don't last forever and you'll miss them when they're back at school."

A LEGEND of Corrie’s cobbled streets is the headline star for this year’s Sunderland Empire panto.

Bosses today revealed the cast for rags-to-riches tale Cinderella.

Loose Women panellist Sherrie Hewson takes the pivotal role as the Fairy Godmother.

The 68-year-old is one of the most respected actresses in the country and has been in the business for more than 40 years.

She began performing at the tender age of four and won an Olivier Award at the age of 15.

Sherrie is best known for her iconic portrayal of Maureen Holdsworth in Coronation Street.

She published her own crime fiction novel The Tannery in 2009, and recently starred as Joyce Temple-Savage in ITV’s hit rated series Benidorm.

A spokesman for the Empire said: “Sherrie is thrilled to be starring in the pantomime and is looking forward to sharing a wonderful Christmas and New Year with everyone in Sunderland.”

The role of Cinderella will be played by Amy Thompson, a familiar face on Channel 5’s Milkshake!

Her theatre credits include Gail in Teachers, Holly in Christmas Crackers, Annie in Wrestling Mad, and Kay in Salt of the Earth.

Unsung hero Buttons will be played by TV presenter Jamie Rickers.

He is the TV face of Nickelodeon in the UK and the eponymous star of Jamie & Anna’s Big Weekend, and summer hit Camp Orange.

He joined Nickelodeon in 2010 after five years hosting CITV’s Toonattik.

The handsome Prince Charming will be played by Owen Thompson, with Bobby Windebank as Dandini, Jamie Morris and Tarot Joseph as the dastardly Ugly Sisters, and the fabulous Shetland Ponies live on stage. Cinderella promises to be a sparkling treat for the whole family and the Empire will be welcoming back Martin Dodd for UK Productions.

As one of the country’s leading producers of musical theatre and pantomime both nationally and internationally, and as the company behind last year’s high-flying pantomime Peter Pan, they promise another high-impact and fun adventure.

Empire press officer Claire Pickersgill said: “We’re delighted Sherrie will be starring in this year’s pantomime.

“Renowned for all of her fantastic TV roles and bubbly and charismatic personality, she’ll make a truly exceptional and enchanting Fairy Godmother.

“And with popular children’s TV stars Jamie and Amy, plus adorable Shetland Ponies, this year’s show is all set to be another fun-filled extravaganza.”
