Nickelodeon’s brand-new preschool series Baby Shark’s Big Show! splashed onto Nick Jr. India on Sunday 15th May 2022 at 11:00am. Preschoolers can join the pop culture phenomenon for jaw-some underwater escapades everyday at 11:00am on the Nick Jr. channel in India.

Co-produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio and SmartStudy, the global entertainment company behind the beloved children’s brand Pinkfong, the series follows Baby Shark and his best friend William as they journey on fun-filled comedic adventures in their community of Carnivore Cove, make new friends and sing original catchy tunes along the way. New episodes of Baby Shark’s Big Show! will continue to air regularly on the Nick Jr. channel.

“With Baby Shark’s Big Show!, the Nickelodeon Animation Studio team has taken the most popular song on the planet and created a whole new world of characters,” said Eryk Casemiro, Senior Vice President, Nickelodeon Preschool. “It’s a series that celebrates family, friends and adventure through comedy, catchy songs and stories of social-emotional learning.”

In the series premiere, “Baby Tooth/Slobber Slug,” Baby Shark gets his first loose tooth and enlists William’s help to lose it so he can trade it in for a sand dollar. When their antics get the tooth lost for real, they must team up with the Toothfish Fairy to track it down. Then, while Baby Shark and his friends are playing Barnacle Ball, Hank’s pet rock, Rocky, is accidentally sent soaring into the lair of the vicious Slobber Slug and they must stage an elaborate rescue mission.


The U.S.-English dub of Baby Shark’s Big Show! features a swim-sational lineup of voice actors: Kimiko Glenn (Orange is the New Black), as Baby Shark; Luke Youngblood (Glitch TechsHarry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone), as William; Natasha Rothwell (Insecure), as Mommy Shark; Eric Edelstein (We Bare Bears), as Daddy Shark; Debra Wilson (MADtv), as Grandma Shark; and Patrick Warburton (Tak & the Power of JujuThe X'sSeinfeldFamily Guy), as Grandpa Shark.


Pinkfong Baby Shark launched on YouTube in November 2015 and took the world by storm, amassing 8 billion views and becoming the most-watched video in the platform’s history. With music, characters, story and dance all combined together, the song certified RIAA Diamond and 11x platinum single for selling over 11 million units in the U.S., and spawned a viral phenomenon #BabySharkChallenge, generating over one million cover videos around the globe.

Baby Shark’s Big Show! is executive produced by Gary “Doodles” DiRaffaele (Breadwinners) and Tommy Sica (Breadwinners), with Whitney Ralls (My Little Pony: Equestria Girls) serving as co-executive producer. The series is produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio in Burbank, Calif., with production overseen by Eryk Casemiro, Senior Vice President, Nickelodeon Preschool.

Currently in its first season, the series has been renewed for season two, with a movie also on the way.

Nickelodeon's new animated preschool series, Butterbean’s Café

Preschoolers will be whisked away on magical culinary adventures in Nickelodeon’s brand-new CG-animated series, Butterbean’s Café, premiering Sunday 4th July 2021 at 1:00 p.m. on Nick Jr. India.

Created by Robert Scull and Jonny Belt (Bubble Guppies), Butterbean’s Café, the series (60 episodes) centres on a fairy named Butterbean and her adventures running her neighborhood café and bakery, and showcases creative cooking and features a curriculum with social-emotional lessons that highlight kindness and gratitude, and leadership skills.

In the series, Butterbean, her fairy friends--Dazzle, Poppy and Jasper --and her little sister Cricket take pride in serving up healthy snacks and sweet treats to the residents in their community of Puddlebrook. Butterbean’s special magic beans, the fairies’ enchanted kitchen tools and the team’s can-do spirit all combine to make their cafe the most awesome eatery in town.

In Butterbean’s Café’s series premiere, “The Grand Opening!” ("La gran inauguración"), Butterbean and her friends work together to make the opening of the café a success, while competing café owner Ms. Marmalady attempts to throw them off track.

The new episode (1 p.m. [ET/PT]) also drew 1.3 million total viewers (+55%).

Nickelodeon India To Premiere New Movie 'Shiva And The Lost Tribe' On Sunday 3rd June 2018 [Updated]

Nickelodeon India will premiere the brand-new made-for-television Shiva movie "Shiva and the Lost Tribe" on Sunday 3rd June 2018 at 11:30am!


Shiva follows the adventures of 9 year old boy Shiva, a regular school going fun loving kid who enjoys being with his friends. The story sees a twist in mood with the introduction of conflict due to danger from villains, and Shiva - with the help of his Super Gadget cycle, fighting skills and his intelligence - will help save the town and people in danger. Whenever there’s trouble you can bet on Shiva to come to the rescue - this super kid is always fighting crime and saving people using his amazing gadgets!


In this expedition, Shiva and his squad are on a mission to solve the bizarre and extraordinary mystery of a crying mountain, where they encounter a clan of ancient lost Hududu Tribe. The tribe is gifted with a divine power to control nature which puts them in jeopardy as super evil scientist, ‘Danny Danger’ wants to harness their powers for his own malicious benefits. Will Superkid Shiva be able to stop Danny Danger and rescue the tribe from his clutches? The evil villain must not succeed, Shiva must stop him by all means. Nickelodeon India will premiere the brand-new Gattu Battu episode "Robot Gang" on Monday 28th May 2018 at 7:00pm! The news follows Gattu Battu recently celebrating the first anniversary of their debut with a big party.

Meet & Greet Nickelodeon's Ninja Hattori & Motu Patlu At Krackerjack Karnival In Delhi This December

Gurugram (Haryana) [India], Dec 13 (ANI-Newsvoir): Krackerjack Karnival, India's biggest kids karnival, expo, festivals and exhibition, rolls back into Delhi this festive season with lots of fun-filled, action packed and educational activities for children and their parents at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium from 16-17 December 2017. With the venue decked out in colourful balloons, a giant Christmas tree, and decorative lights, children and families will be spoilt for choice for festive photos. There will be Santa Claus, and children will get a chance to enjoy little treats from Father Christmas.

Meet and greets with animated cartoon characters such as Chotta Bheem and Friends from Greengold Animation; Disney's Shinchan and Gaju Bhai; Nickelodeon's Ninja Hattori and Motu Patlu; Discovery Kids' Angry Birds & Sheikh Chilli. Children can also meet their favourite superhero cosplayers. The best of international clowns in colourful costumes, roaming around the fair grounds are entertaining with their unique brand of musical antics and general hilarity.

The popular event, which witnessed a footfall of 40,000 in December 2016 at the same venue, has some serious messages as well. Recent additions this year like the anti-pollution campaign will call for urgent action on dirty air, while the wild life awareness drive will connect children with nature.

Children can also enhance their competitive spirit by taking active part in drawing and painting competitions. The festival's wide variety of workshops, play zones and activities that include aeromodelling, gardening, acrobats, space planetarium, science, arts and crafts, robotics, cooking and baking, etc. make learning fun. The fair inspires children to imagine, create, draw, play, learn and do so much more.

Combining educational activities, learning, entertainment, shopping, dining and fun, the festival will also have magic and puppet shows, fun hands-on experiments, music and dance performances, storytelling sessions, filled with theatrics and audience participation and more. It promises to create a world of unadulterated fun, adding to the magic of the experience.

Past editions witnessed children and families have an exciting time in an environment buzzing with fun and laughter, making the carnival an instant hit.

"It was a delight to watch my daughter run around, dance, sing and have a great time. She had fun meeting her favourite cartoon characters, playing with the balloons and participating in a series of activities," said the mother of a seven-year-old who attended the 2016 Delhi edition. "Afterwards, she was bouncing with excitement," she added.

Organized by Exhibitions India Pvt. Ltd., the festival was launched in 2012, and since then it has travelled across Delhi and Bengaluru hosting multiple editions. Chandrika Behl, Founder, Krackerjack Karnival, and Director, Exhibitions India Pvt. Ltd., articulated that the festival wouldn't be what it is without all of the support from those who attend it and the event partners.

Mumbai Traffic Police Partners With Nickelodeon India For "Road Safety Week With Shiva"

MUMBAI: Mumbai Traffic Police dedicated to making Mumbai roads safe for all has partnered with children's favorite Nicktoon – Nickelodeon India’s Shiva to be a behavioural change agent in the area of Safety and Road regulations. Committed to creating awareness on the issue and good riding and road habits amongst families, the week-long activities helmed by the Mumbai Traffic Police and Nickelodeon’s Shiva was kick-started on Saturday 28th January 2017.


Shiva has emerged as a behavioral change agent amongst kids and parents in the area of health and sanitation, emerging as the face of Viacom18’s social responsibility initiate ChakaChak Mumbai and contributing to the Prime Misters vision of a Swaach Bharat. Shiva has also steered significant social movements in the area of education, emerging synonymous with innovation by partnering with the National Innovation Foundation for the prestigious Ignite Awards. Every kid’s role model Shiva who rides a cycle himself is now all set to be an important change driver in the area of safety, influencing and inspiring children and families to follow safe road practices.

The week will see Shiva execute the road safety drive with Mumbai Traffic Police at key city signals and crossroads through sign boards and messages promoting safety. Shiva will also be visiting multiple schools to spread the message of a safe and secure Mumbai road for all.

It is imperative to abide to these rules as they are meant for one’s own safety.”

Speaking about the partnership with Nickelodeon he further added “It is of paramount importance for children to learn road safety early in life. Nickelodeon’s toon – Shiva, advocates road safety and being extremely popular amongst the younger minds, fits as the finest endorser and influencerto inculcate road safety awareness and traffic rules in them. Mumbai Traffic Police and Nickelodeon have hence come together to spread road safety awareness amongst Mumbaikars, especially kids and parents through ‘Road Safety Week with Shiva’.

Mumbai, September 8, 2016: Viacom18 is set to take the Indian animation industry to greater heights with the release of Motu Patlu King of Kings – the network’s maiden 3D stereoscopic animation theatrical. Two hugely successful divisions from the Viacom18 Network – Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Nickelodeon have joined hands to create the movie based on the very popular Lotpot characters Motu Patlu. The movie, produced by MAYA, will create a new milestone for Indian animation by promoting India’s vision of ‘Made In India’ content. The movie is slated to release on 14th October 2016, in Hindi and Tamil in over 700 screens across India.

Since its inception, Motu and Patlu have enjoyed a sweet spot in the minds of children and have over time become a phenomenal success for Viacom18 across television, digital and consumer products business lines. The network had previously released 10 Motu Patlu movies in the ‘made for TV’ format that received an overwhelming response, and the 11th movie marks the characters’ big screen debut. Post the theatrical release, the movie will also be aired on Nickelodeon and Viacom18’s digital platform, VOOT.

Nickelodeon India To Rebrand Sonic On Tuesday 3rd May 2016

Viacom18 will be giving Sonic, Nickelodeon India's sister kids channel and Viacom18's second kids channel in India, a revamp on Tuesday 3rd May 2016!


Comedy drives the action at Sonic.

Launched in 2011 and known largely as an action-adventure channel for young boys, Sonic is changing and wants to be known as a channel that shows "comedy with a tinge of adventure". As part of the rebrand, Sonic will sport a new look featuring a brighter colour scheme and a new programming line-up.

"Our research said that comedy is the common denominator in the kids' genre, it helps attract viewers and maintain stickiness. At the same time, we want Sonic to have a distinct identity, and so we have retained some of the edginess and adventure in the new logo, packaging and of course, programming," says Nina Elavia Jaipuria, EVP and head (kids cluster), Viacom18.

Sonic's new colours are meant to reflect the new positioning, with yellow taking greater prominence over blue and a softer font to go with it.

Revamping the watch list

One of Sonic's most popular shows, Saban's Power Rangers, caters mostly to boys, but to appeal to a wider audience, the channel introduced Pakadam Pakadai, a series popular on Nick India, to the schedules last year, and recently started airing Shiva. In the coming months, Sonic will be premiering more brand-new episodes of both shows, and will be adding several new shows to the channels line-up.

"Our flagship Nick has been the genre leader for almost two years now and our kids portfolio is amongst the top two in India. Seen in this light, the rebranding exercise for Sonic is part of an evolving content strategy that will increase the combined viewership share of our kids portfolio," said Sudhanshu Vats, group CEO, Viacom18.


Shiva

Vats believes the kids genre holds immense promise in India. "Our commitment is reflected in how we've placed it across our network through consumer products and a dedicated section in our OTT service Voot," he adds. As a category, kids' channels have six per cent share of viewership (urban and rural markets combined) points out Jaipuria. "We feel now is the right time to capitalise on the lead that Nick has and boost Sonic to the next level," she says.

Nick and Sonic will have a mix of in-house and acquired properties. For the moment, most new shows will be added to Sonic after a run on Nick. "I think right now, Nick is a stable strong platform. The idea is to get more and more people to sample Sonic, especially those who know the old avatar of the channel, and see the new version with new episodes of the popular shows they saw on Nick," says Jaipuria.

Advertisers on board

According to Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) data provided by Viacom18, the kids genre accounted for six per cent of total viewership last financial year across India. In urban areas, Viacom 18's market share was around eight per cent. However, Jaipuria adds that the category is still under-indexed as revenues from the genre account for around three per cent of total spends on TV.


However, Jaipuria says that they have managed to raise inventory rates at a time when the competition has been under-cutting rates to attract advertisers. "When you are in a good position viewership wise, you have the leverage to charge a premium. We are running on an over-booked inventory and knew our content is working and advertisers value associating with us. There were some struggles, but at the end of it, our commercial partners also understand the value we bring to the table," says Jaipuria. Both Nick and Sonic increased their ad-sales monetisation by 40 and 67 per cent respectively, albeit Sonic's growth comes on a comparatively low base.


It's not only viewership that has helped the network increase ad-sales numbers. Increasing focus on the licensing and merchandising and innovative brand integrations into content have worked, too. Additionally, digitisation has helped boost subscription revenues and helped bring in brands that traditionally did not look at kids' channels and they comprise almost 50 per cent of the advertisers on the network today.

Nickelodeon India Launches Localised Together For Good Initiative

Nickelodeon India has announced Together For Good - an initiative that aims to get children to take small steps towards cleanliness!


Kick-starting today, Monday 18th April 2016, the first edition of the campaign in India and second worldwide aims to make the process of cleaning more fun and entertaining for children. Together for Good is Nickelodeon International's worldwide initiative that believes anyone, anywhere, any time can help make the world a better place. In India too, the movement has been launched with a vision to empower kids to make positive changes to society.

Commenting on the initiative, Nina Jaipuria, Executive Vice President (EVP) and business head, Kids Cluster at Viacom18 said, "At Nickelodeon, we believe that children are change agents of tomorrow. Viacom18 Preps Launch Of New Streaming Video Service Voot In India

India's competitive online video landscape will see the launch of a new player, Voot, by the end of March 2016, reports The Hollywood Reporter!


The streaming video service will be run by Viacom18, the joint venture between Viacom and India's Network18, which operates such TV networks as Nickelodeon India, Nick HD+, MTV India, VH1, Comedy Central and flagship Hindi entertainment outlet Colors, among others.

Promising a mix of domestic and international content, Voot is an advertising-supported service, which will be offered free to consumers at launch.

It will take on a host of competitors, such as the recently launched Netflix India, Fox's Star India-backed hotstar, Hooq, backed by Warner Bros., Sony Pictures and Singapore Telecom, as well Indian film major Eros International's ErosNow, among others.

Viacom18 CEO Sudhanshu Vats told THR that Voot would also launch "a subscriber based service in due course." Further details as to monthly pricing and whether the subscription service would come ad-free or with limited ads, will be announced later.

Star India's hotstar is an ad-supported free service, while Netflix launched its India service in January 2016 starting with a basic package of about $7.35 (500 rupees) per month. The ad-free ErosNow offers a limited-content free service, while monthly subscriptions start at 70 cents (49 rupees) with a premium HD service at $1.45 (99 rupees). Hooq's ad-free service is offered at a monthly price of about $2.90 (199 rupees).


Vats said Voot will draw on Viacom18's 10,000-plus hours of content in addition to a slate of original programming. Also included in the mix is what Vats describes as "content around content," such as specially curated extra footage from the network's long-running local remakes of reality shows, which include Big Brother and Fear Factor, among others. Movie content will be made up of over 250 local titles, including some from the company's banner Viacom18 Motion Pictures whose catalog includes hits such as Queen and sports biopic Mary Kom.

While details of international content will be revealed at the time of launch, the service will also include kids programming from Nickelodeon India. In addition, the service has also acquired digital rights for shows that otherwise air on rival networks, such as Discovery Kids, Turner International's Pogo and Cartoon Network and Disney India's Hungama channel. Foreign content includes Mr Bean Animated, Mr Bean Live, Pokemon, Transformers and Kate and Min Min. Local shows include popular properties such as Chotta Bheem, Mighty Raju, Kid Krrish and Tales of Shiva.

In terms of original content, Voot will include shows such as Badman, a comedy starring veteran Bollywood actor Gulshan Grover known for his long career playing famous onscreen villains, who gets to relaunch himself as a hero. Another comedy series, Soadies, revolves around a Delhi-based family obsessed with MTV India's popular reality show Roadies, which is known for the often rude behaviour of its contestants and judges.
