Belgium's VTM Acquires Nickelodeon Programming for OTT Service VTM Go
VTM (Vlaamse Televisie Maatschappij), the main commercial television station in Flanders (the Dutch-speaking northern region of Belgium) owned by DPG Media (formerly Medialaan) has acquired the rights to a raft of hit Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. series for its popular over-the-top (OTT) streaming service VTM Go! The news comes as VTM merges its two linear children's channels - VTM Kids and VTM Kids Jr. - into one channel, VTM Kids on Monday 2nd March 2020. VTM's children's programming block is not expected to be affected by the change.
Under the agreement, young users of VTM Go will be able to watch episodes of PAW Patrol, SpongeBob SquarePants and Henry Danger on demand using the service, available online at vtm.be, and through dedicated web apps available to download from the Apple App Store (for iOS devices) and Google Play (for Android Devices).
The Nickelodeon shows join previously added programming such as Australian soap Home and Away, The Nanny, Arthur and the Minimoys, Atomic Puppet, Barbie Dreamtopia: Een Feest Vol Fantasie, Battle of the TikTokkers, Fireman Sam (Brandweerman Sam), Besties, Booh!, Brainiacs, Cavegirl, DC Super Hero Girls, De Drone School, De Funny Cupcakes Tour, de Slimste Klas, Dennis and Gnasher: Unleashed (Dennis & Knarser Losgeslagen), Just Add Magic (Een Snufje Magie), Vloglab, Wasda, Winx Club, Het Furchester Hotel, Heidi, All Hail King Julien (Lang Leve Koning Julien), Thomas & Friends (Thomas de Trein) and Nickelodeon Israel's The Greenhouse.

VTM Kids en VTM Kids Jr. smelten vanaf 2 maart samen tot één lineaire zender, VTM Kids. Het lineaire signaal van de kinderzender VTM Kids Jr. wordt overgenomen door een nieuwe seriezender, die CAZ 2 zal heten. Daar zal de kijker elke dag Vlaamse en internationale series, zoals “Clan”, “Cordon” en “Mr. Robot” kunnen bekijken. Dat meldt DPG Media.

Ook de reeksen van Walter Presents zullen op CAZ 2 voor het eerst op een lineaire zender te zien zijn. Tot nu toe konden die in Vlaanderen enkel online bekeken worden via de VTM Go-app.
De Walter van Walter Presents is de Italiaanse dramafan Walter Iuzzolino, die wereldwijd op zoek gaat naar de beste niet-Engelstalige fictiereeksen. De actiethriller “Fugitives”, een Chileense HBO-reeks, en de Argentijnse titel “The cleaning lady” bijten de spits af in de eerste week.
CAZ 2 is te vinden op kanaal 23 (Telenet), kanaal 18 (Proximus) of kanaal 19 (Orange).

Nickelodeon’s brand-new animated preschool series, Abby Hatcher (created and produced by Spin Master Entertainment), tells the story of a little girl with a big heart who helps her friends, the amazing and quirky Fuzzly creatures, fix their mishaps, learn from their mistakes and negotiate their emotions. Launching on Nick Jr. Benelux on Monday 27th May 2019 at 15:35 uur on Nick Jr. Netherlands (Nederland) and Nick Jr. Belgium (België; Flanders), Abby Hatcher (26 episodes) features a social-emotional curriculum highlighting empathy, compassion and problem-solving skills. Following launch, new episodes of Abby Hatcher will continue to air weekdays at 15:35 uur on the Nick Jr. channel in the Netherlands and Belgium.
In Abby Hatcher, Abby is an eternally optimistic, kind-hearted seven-year-old girl who loves to lend a helping hand to others and accepts everyone--no matter how different they are. In Abby’s world, humans coexist with Fuzzlies, incredible creatures that each have their own unique abilities that make them special, and Abby’s parents’ hotel is home to many. Together with her best Fuzzly friend Bozzly, Abby goes on wild adventures to fix Fuzzly mishaps and help them in any way she can. Whenever a problem arises Abby and Bozzly always say, “Fuzzly trouble can’t delay, to the rescue, save the day!”
In the series premiere of Abby Hatcher, “When Abby Met Bozzly/Hair Flair Everywhere,” Abby meets the best friend of her dreams, a fuzzly named Bozzly, for the first time. Then, when the hotel’s salon owner Mrs. Melvin closes the salon for the day, Abby tries to help Harriet, a hair-obsessed Fuzzly, find a new hobby, when all she really wants is to style. In additional new episodes, Mo and Bo are mistaken for a snow monster, and, after taking a tumble, Otis suffers a fear of heights and becomes scared to use his elevator.
Abby Hatcher made its world debut on Nickelodeon in the U.S. on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, and will be rolling out on Nickelodeon’s international channels and branded blocks throughout 2019. The series also airs on TVO and Knowledge in Canada.
Abby Hatcher is the ninth series from Spin Master Entertainment and follows on the success of PAW Patrol. The new series is overseen by executive producers Ronnen Harary and Laura Clunie.

Nickelodeon's new animated preschool series, Butterbean’s Café
Preschoolers will be whisked away on magical culinary adventures in Nickelodeon’s brand-new CG-animated series, Butterbean’s Café, premiering on Nick Jr. Benelux on Monday 4th February 2019 at 09:30 uur on Nick Jr. Netherlands (Nederland) and Nick Jr. Belgium (België; Flanders)! Following launch, new episodes of Butterbean’s Café will air regularly weekdays at 09:30 uur on Nick Jr. Benelux. Viewers will also be able to catch up on the series with watching encores weekdays at 16:10 and weekends at 09:30.
Created by Robert Scull and Jonny Belt (Bubble Guppies), Butterbean’s Café, the series (40 episodes) centres on a fairy named Butterbean and her adventures running her neighborhood café and bakery, and showcases creative cooking and features a curriculum with social-emotional lessons that highlight kindness and gratitude, and leadership skills.
In the series, Butterbean, her fairy friends--Dazzle, Poppy and Jasper --and her little sister Cricket take pride in serving up healthy snacks and sweet treats to the residents in their community of Puddlebrook. Butterbean’s special magic beans, the fairies’ enchanted kitchen tools and the team’s can-do spirit all combine to make their cafe the most awesome eatery in town.
In Butterbean’s Café’s series premiere, “The Grand Opening!,” Butterbean and her friends work together to make the opening of the café a success, while competing café owner Ms. Marmalady (voiced by Alysia Reiner of Orange Is the New Black) attempts to throw them off track.

Butterbean’s Café made its world debut on Nickelodeon in the U.S. on Monday 12th November 2018, where it became Nickelodeon's highest-rated preschool series debut since the 2013 launch of PAW Patrol, posting double-digit year-over-year gains and averaging a 4.6/456,000 with Kids 2-5 (+27%). The new episode (1 p.m. [ET/PT]) also drew 1.3 million total viewers (+55%). The will be rolling out on Nickelodeon’s international channels and branded blocks throughout 2019.
The US-English dub of Butterbean’s Café features the voice talent of Margaret Ying Drake as Butterbean, Olivia Grace Manning as Dazzle, Kirrilee Berger as Poppy, Koda Gursoy as Jasper, and Gabriella Pizzolo as Cricket, and features guest voice appearances by top celebrity chefs and culinary experts, including Richard Blais (Top Chef, Guy’s Grocery Games), Alton Brown (Good Eats, Iron Chef America), Carla Hall (The Chew, Top Chef), Padma Lakshmi (Top Chef), Giada De Laurentiis (Giada at Home) and Rachael Ray (The Rachael Ray Show).
