Nickelodeon Decides Not To Order "Twang" To Series

Actress Rachel Cannon has confirmed to NickALive! in a Tweet (post) on her official Twitter profile page, @MsRachelCannon, that, after Nickelodeon ordered and filmed a pilot episode for a potential brand-new live-action comedy series "Twang" in 2013, Nickelodeon has decided not to pick-up the sitcom to series:
they decided not to pick it up. #boo.

"Twang" (working title) was going to be a all-new sitcom about a family that relocates from Hollywood, California to run a diner in Tennessee. The show was created and executive produced by Andy Gordon ("True Jackson, VP", "Just Shoot Me", "Kirstie"). The pilot starred actress Gatlin Green and her brother, Cooper Green, Storm Reid, Noah Urrea, Richard Reihle as the father of Rachel Cannon's character, and Patsy Cline.


Rachel Cannon has also confirmed the news and shared a few photographs from the set of "Twang" on her official website, rachel-cannon.com.

Nickelodeon Films Pilot For Potential New Comedy Series "Twang"

Actress Gatlin Green has announced in a Tweet (post) on her official Twitter profile page, @GatlinGreen, the very exciting Nickelodeon news that Nickelodeon is currently filming a pilot episode for her potential brand new live-action Nickelodeon comedy series "Twang", in which she will star alongside her brother, Cooper Green!

"Twang" (working title) is a all-new sitcom about a family that relocates from Hollywood, California to run a diner in Tennessee. The show is created and executive produced by Andy Gordon ("True Jackson, VP", "Just Shoot Me", "Kirstie").

In the Tweet, Gatlin Green also shared a exclusive "Twang" cast photograph which features a look at all the characters in the potential upcoming Nick show, which you can view below!:

Nickelodeon Orders Two New Animated Series, Greenlights Four New Live-Action Pilots, Two New Digital Series And Signs Three Young Actors To Talent Deals

Nickelodeon, the number-one entertainment brand for kids and families, announced on Thursday 16th September 2013 the very exciting Nickelodeon News in the following press release, from Nickelodeon's Kids and Family Press Site, NickPress.com, that is has ordered 26 episodes of two brand new animated series (Nicktoons), "Bad Seeds" and "Pig Goat Banana Cricket", which will be produced at the Nickelodeon Animation Studio in Burbank, California, USA! The announcement was made by Russell Hicks, President, Content Development and Production, Nickelodeon.

Additionally, Hicks announced an order for four brand new live-action pilots, "Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Don" (working title), "Twang" (working title), "Smart Alec" (working title) and "Untitled Cheerleader Project", and has greenlit two all-new digital series, "Welcome to the Wayne" and "Junior Eye", for the Emmy Award-winning Nick App, which has more than four million installs to date. The network also signed three new young actors, Noah Urrea, Jace Norman and Haley Tju, to talent deals from its recent talent showcase at The Groundlings Theatre in Los Angeles, Calif!


The announcements come as Nickelodeon continues its recent ratings momentum. Nickelodeon is currently pacing to finish the third quarter 13% above last year, representing its best growth performance for a quarter in 16 years (since 2Q, 1997).

NEW ANIMATED SERIES

Bad Seeds (26 episodes)

Harvey, a sweet and well-meaning bird, makes two new best friends, Fee and Foo, the wildest kids in the forest. Although their friendship seems unlikely, their connection only grows as they push each other out of their comfort zones and into endless adventures. Created, written and directed by C.H. Greenblatt (SpongeBob SquarePants, Chowder).

Pig Goat Banana Cricket (26 episodes)

This show features a series of absurd interwoven stories about four friends and roommates, Pig (the fool), Goat (the artist), Banana (the wise-guy) and Cricket (the brain). Created by Dave Cooper and J. Ryan and executive produced by David Sacks (The Simpsons, Regular Show) who co-writes with J. Ryan. Dave Cooper also art directs the series and the pilot was directed by independent animator Nick Cross.

LIVE-ACTION PILOTS

Twang (Working Title)

A comedy series about a family that relocates from Hollywood, Calif to run a diner in Tennessee. Created and executive produced by Andy Gordon (True Jackson, VP, Just Shoot Me, Kirstie).

Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Don (Working Title)

This series follows the madcap adventures of the thirteen year-old Haley quadruplets -- Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Don. Created and executive produced by Matt Fleckenstein (iCarly, Victorious, Drake & Josh).

Smart Alec (Working Title)

A comedic look at the world of kid geniuses. Written by Adam Schwartz (Fred: The Show, So Random, Sonny with a Chance) and executive produced by Tommy Lynch (South of Nowhere, The Troop).

Untitled Cheerleader Project

A comedy about a perky head cheerleader named Bella whose life in Texas takes an unexpected twist. Written by Gabriel Garza and Jonathan Butler (The Haunted Hathaways, Fan Boy & Chum Chum), who were discovered through Nickelodeon's Diversity Fellowship program.

DIGITAL SERIES

Welcome to the Wayne

An animated comedy about two adventurers set in the lobby of the weirdest apartment building on the planet. Created and written by Billy Lopez (The Wonder Pets!).

Junior Eye

Three junior high school friends are committed to solving the myths that plague their classmates' daily lives. Created by Will and Aaron Eisenberg, whose previous project (Eric Finley: Comment Counselor) won Ashton Kutcher's "Dream Bigger" filmmaking competition.

Nickelodeon Developing Potential Brand New Country Music-Themed Comedy Series "Twang" With "True Jackson, VP" Creator Andy Gordon

The entertainment news website Deadline.com is reporting the exciting Nick News that Nickelodeon has signed a deal with comedy writer-producer Andy Gordon, the creator and executive producer of Nick's popular fashion-themed sitcom "True Jackson, VP", to develop a potential brand new original comedy series called "Twang" (working title)!

"Twang" will be a 30-minute country-themed multi-camera comedy about the four semi-spoiled children of a country music star who are relocated from their privileged life in Los Angeles, California, USA, to their mother's childhood home in Leiper's Fork, Tennessee.

Gordon serves as co-executive producer on TV Land's upcoming Kirstie Alley sitcom "Kirstie". He was recently an executive producer on ABC's "Last Man Standing" and previously worked on Fox's "The Loop" and "Back To You", plus the 1986 series of "Dennis the Menace", "Get a Life", "Mad About You", "Dream On", "NewsRadio", "Just Shoot Me!", the Nickelodeon UK show "Complete Savages", "Hot Properties" and "DAG":
Andy Gordon Sells Projects To Fox, Nickelodeon

Comedy writer-producer Andy Gordon has set up half-hour projects at Fox and Nickelodeon. At Fox, he has Falling Into Place, a multi-camera ensemble comedy about five college friends who, four or five years out of college, each experiences a loss and tries to overcome it. 20th TV is producing. At Nickelodeon, where Gordon previously created and executive produced True Jackson VP, he has country-themed multi-camera comedy Twang, about the four semi-spoiled children of a country music star who are relocated from their privileged life in Los Angeles to their mother’s childhood home in Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee.
