Nickelodeon Wins Raft of Awards at 2024 Kidscreen Awards

Nickelodeon has received a raft of nominations in the 2024 Kidscreen Awards, which honors the best children's media over the last year!

Update (2/7) - Nickelodeon picked up a slew of awards at the 2024 Kidscreen Awards!

In the Preschool Programming category, The Tiny Chef Show (Imagine Entertainment, Tiny Chef Productions, Factory, Nickelodeon Animation, Dunshire Productions) has been nominated for "Best Mixed-Media Series", going up against Gabby’s Dollhouse (DreamWorks Animation, Netflix);

Meanwhile, in the Kids Programming category, Big Nate (Nickelodeon Animation Studios) has received a nomination for "Best Mixed-Media Series", Monster High (Mattel Television, Nickelodeon Productions) has been nominated for the "Best Inclusivity" award", and The Smurfs holiday special “A Smurfy Christmas” (Peyo Productions, Dupuis Edition et Audiovisuel, KiKA, RTBF, Ketnet, TF1, Wallimage) has been nominated for "Best Holiday or Special Episode";

In the Tweens/Teens Programming category, Kids’ Choice Awards 2023 (Den of Thieves, Nickelodeon) and Monster High: The Movie (Mattel Television, Brightlight Pictures, Nickelodeon Productions) have each received a nomination for the "Best One-Off, Special or TV Movie" award, with To All The Boys.. spin-off XO, Kitty (Awesomeness Studios, ACE Entertainment, Netflix) receiving a nomination for "Best Inclusivity";

In the Broadcasting category, Charli D’Amelio and Nate Burleson have been nominated for the "Best On-Air Host or Hosting Team" award for hosting the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards 2023 (Nickelodeon), whilst Noggin, Nickelodeon's interactive learning platform for preschoolers, has been nominated for the "Best Kids-Only Streaming Service" award;

In the Digital-Preschool category, Blaze’s Amazing Race Through Time (Nickelodeon) and Puppet Preschool (Nickelodeon) have each received a nomination for "Best Web/App Series—Branded", Noggin (Noggin) and PAW Patrol Academy (Spin Master) have both been nominated for "Best Learning App—Branded", and Blue’s Clues: On the Farm (Noggin) and PAW Patrol Grand Prix (Paramount Games Studio, Outright Games) have both received a nomination for the "Best Alternative Game" award;

Finally, in the Digital-Kids category, SpongeBob's Pineapple Playhouse (Nickelodeon) has received a nomination for the "Best Web/App Series—Branded" award, TMNT Splintered Fate (Paramount Game Studios, Super Evil Megacorp) has been nominated for the "Best Game App—Branded" award, and the official SpongeBob SquarePants YouTube channel (Nickelodeon) has been nominated for "Best YouTube Channel".

The Kidscreen Awards program is a high-profile celebration of children’s content excellence paying tribute to outstanding TV and digital media work that keeps kids and families entertained worldwide. This year, more than 550 entries were received from around the world in 50-plus categories spanning programming, broadcasting and digital media.

All winners will be announced and celebrated live at a special awards ceremony taking place on Monday, February 5 during Kidscreen Summit 2024 in San Diego.

Shortlisted entries in the programming categories will be reviewed and assessed by a fresh panel of judges, including Frank Dietz (Super RTL), Libbie Doherty (ABC Australia), Robert Fortuijn (NPO), Claire Heinrich (France Télévisions), Nicole Keeb (ZDF), Marie McCann (CBC Kids), Irene Pothecary-Huse (NRK Super), Meredith Roberts (Disney Branded Television), Alyssa Sapire (Disney Junior), Adriano Schmid (PBS KIDS), Pablo Zuccarino (Warner Bros. Discovery) and Kristofer Updike (independent). 

Best Inclusivity entries were reviewed and assessed by a jury that includes Ros Attille (Big Little Fish TV), Frank Blanquet (First Nations Experience TV), Kimberly Diaz (Sesame Workshop), Sharon Gomes (Snow Rose Media), Andrea Griffith (Sphere Media Toronto), Cort Lane (Hasbro), Jessica Schibli (BBC Children’s), Megan Townsend (GLAAD) and Alex Washington (The Children’s Media Institute).  

Shortlisted entries in the digital categories will be judged in a final round by Naomi Dare (Coolabi Group), Stephanie Gauld (Blue Zoo Animation Studio), Marc Goodchild (The LEGO Group), Nerissa Holder Hall (Mirror Mirror Books), Iris Ichishita (Toekenz Collectibles), Kane Lee (Baobab Studios), Nico Lockhart (WildBrain), Makeda Mays Green (Nickelodeon Consumer Insights), Tone Thyne (FableVision Studios) and Erika Winterholler (Mattel).
