Nickelodeon Group Promotes Jack Daley To VP Of Consumer Marketing

The children's digital entertainment business column 'iKids' on the kids entertainment and media news website Kidscreen is reporting the Nickelodeon News that Jack Daley has been named Vice President (VP) of consumer marketing for Nickelodeon Group, where he will oversee marketing strategies and ad planning for special events and series as well as lead acquisition efforts in support of the company's mobile app, the Nick App, and digital gaming businesses.

Daley will oversee efforts surrounding such series and events as "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", "SpongeBob SquarePants", "The Legend of Korra", "Kids' Choice Awards", "TeenNick's HALO Awards" and NickMom.

Jack Daley is a 10-year Nick veteran who was involved in the expansion of Nickelodeon's social media and digital marketing practice. He most recently served as senior director of digital marketing, where he worked on online initiatives for "Kids’ Choice Awards", "The Legend of Korra" and "SpongeBob SquarePants". The latter garnered more than 70 million fans across social media networks under Daley’s watch. Daley also worked on Nickelodeon's Consumer Products business, where he was responsible for marketing the company's console and handheld video game business. Nickelodeon has announced in the following Press Release, from PRNewswire, the Nickelodeon News that Nick Jr. USA's evening programming block NickMom (stylized as nickmom) has ordered 13 episodes of "Instant Mom" (working title), the primetime TV block's first original scripted comedy series, which will star Classic Nickelodeon UK Star Tia Mowry-Hardrict, who portrayed 'Tia Landry' in the Classic Nick UK comedy series "Sister Sister"! The Nick News was announced by Bronwen O'Keefe, Senior Vice President, NickMom. The half-hour, multi-camera series is set to premiere later this year on NickMom and repeat on Nickelodeon USA's nighttime programming block, Nick at Nite (stylized as nick@nite). Nickelodeon ordered a pilot for the potential new Nick At Nite family comedy series "Instant Mom" in 2012.

"Instant Mom" will follow young party girl Stephanie (Mowry-Hardrict, "Sister, Sister") who trades in cosmos for carpools when she marries an older man, Charlie (Michael Boatman, "Spin City", "Anger Management"), with three kids. Stephanie slowly grows into her role as a full-time stepmom while struggling to maintain some sense of her fun-loving, slightly irresponsible life. Instant Mom (wt) (13x30′) is a multi-camera series about a young party girl who marries an older man with three kids and has to balance her role as a step-mother with her fun-loving life.

Viacom International Media Networks Europe Launches Their FTA Music And Entertainment Channel VIVA UK On Freesat

The official website of the British weekly music industry news magazine Music Week is reporting the VIMN Europe news that Viacom International Media Networks Europe have launched the UK and Irish version of their popular free-to-air music video and entertainment channel, Viva, VIVA UK and Ireland, on the British free-to-air digital satellite television service Freesat. Viacom’s free-to-air music and entertainment channel Viva has launched on Freesat.

Launched in 2009, Viva claims to have “the strongest 16-24 profile of any of the UK’s digital free-to-air channels” with more than a quarter of its audience comprising of the demographic.

The channel reaches more than 10 million individuals each month.

Viacom counts Viva in a portfolio including MTV, Nickelodeon and Comedy Central.

“Joining Freesat is a natural evolution for Viva,” said Kerry Taylor, SVP, general manager, MTV UK. “It will give many more UK homes access to content from Viacom’s world-famous networks, offering them a brilliant mix of TV shows and music that is of proven appeal to a notoriously hard-to-reach younger audience.”

Nickelodeon's brand new live-action original comedy series "Sam & Cat" will be a spin-off from Dan Schneider's hit live-action Nickelodeon comedy shows "iCarly" and "Victorious", and will feature Nickelodeon Stars Jennette McCurdy ("iCarly"'s Sam Puckett) and Ariana Grande ("Victorious"' Cat Valentine) reprising their roles from their respective hit shows, and will feature the pair as unlikely roommates who become teen entrepreneurs by starting their own after-school babysitting business.
