House of Anubis the jointly American/British/Belgian produced teen drama mystery television series

THE Liverpool-made teen drama mystery House of Anubis will return for a third series.

Childwall-based co-producer Lime Pictures, whose credits include Hollyoaks and The Only Way Is Essex, today confirmed the news.

Another series was commissioned by Nickelodeon after proving a ratings hit on both sides of the Atlantic.

House of Anubis follows a group of students who uncover and solve hidden mysteries at an English boarding school while dealing with the highs and lows of their teenage years.

The first season of House of Anubis, which was filmed in Liverpool in July 2010, launched in the US in January last year.

It was later screened in the UK and Australia and was shown to millions on Nickelodeon channels around the world in 2011.

The second season, which was shot in Speke, is currently showing on Nickelodeon UK.

A spokeswoman for Lime Pictures told the ECHO: “Series three will resume production later this year.”

Based on the Belgian/Dutch show, Het Huis Anubis, the series was originally produced in the Benelux countries and is in its sixth season in Belgium and the Netherlands.

The German-language version, Das Haus Anubis, went on air in September 2009.

Viewers are able to watch the series in Holland, Germany, Austria and Switzerland, the UK, America, Australia, Sweden, Croatia and Mexico.

Lime Pictures will co-produce the series along with Belgian production company Studio 100.

House of Anubis is Nickelodeon’s number one rated show in the UK, Australia and America.

Last year it won a Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award, which was voted for by the fans as their favourite UK show.

Since its UK launch in February 2011, thousands of followers have created their own works of fan fiction and even created their own Sibuna gangs in homage to the show’s leading characters.

Nathalia Ramos, who plays Nina Martin, previously said she would not return for a third series.

The 19-year-old will concentrate on her studies, but was reportedly still planning to carry on her acting as she's already signed up to appear in film Resident Advisor.
