Google Adds Nickelodeon And Comedy Central Apps To Chromecast

Google has announced the exciting news on their official Google Chrome Blog that they have added Nickelodeon's Emmy Award-winning Nick App and the popular Comedy Central app to Chromecast, just in time for Thanksgiving and the holiday season!:

Chromecast is a digital media player developed by Google. The device, a 2.83-inch (72 mm) HDMI dongle, plays audio/video content on a high-definition display by directly streaming it via Wi-Fi from the Internet or a local network. Users can select the media to play using mobile apps and web apps that support the Google Cast technology. Alternatively, content can be mirrored from the Google Chrome web browser running on a personal computer, as well as from the screen of some Android devices. Chromecast was released for purchase in the USA on Wednesday 24th July 2013. Nickelodeon USA Tops Basic Cable Ratings With Kids And Total Viewers

Nickelodeon, the number-one entertainment brand for kids and families, has announced the exciting Nickelodeon Ratings News in the following press release, from TVByTheNumbers.com, that Nick USA closed the fourth week of November 2014 (Monday 17th to Sunday 23rd November 2014) as the top basic cable network in total day with Kids 2-11 (2.2/670K) and total viewers (1.3M), scoring its sixth consecutive weekly win!


"SpongeBob SquarePants" was the net's top series for the week with Kids 2-11, averaging a (4.6/1.4M). It was followed in that category by live-action hits "Henry Danger" (3.9/1.2M) and "Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn" (3.7/1.1M), respectively. With Kids 6-11, "Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn" was the network's number-one program landing a 5.3/990K average, while "Henry Danger" (5.3/989K) was second for the week. Additionally, "PAW Patrol" (6.5/771K) led Nickelodeon's preschool slate, with "Wallykazam!" (4.2/507K) following.

Nickelodeon USA's niche network, Nicktoons USA, posted double-digit year-over-year (YOY) increases with its core demo, posting gains with Kids 6-11 (0.6/79K, +50%), Boys 6-11 (0.9/59K, +50%) and P2+ (243K, +54%).

On Friday, Dec. 5, Nickelodeon kicks off the merriment with Wallykazam! "Wally Saves the Trollidays!" at 10:30 a.m. (ET/PT). Legendary crooner Tony Bennett guest stars as the singing voice of Bobgoblin, an impulsive and egocentric goblin with a knack for finding trouble. Kate Micucci (Garfunkel & Oates, The Big Bang Theory) also guest stars as the voice of Elfelfa, a spirited and enthusiastic elf who is the Jingle Troll's new helper.

On Friday, Dec. 12, the holiday cheer continues with the premiere of the Bubble Guppies special, "A Very Guppy Christmas" at 9:00 a.m. (ET/PT). Beau Bridges (The Millers) guest stars as Mr. Claws, a jolly, white-bearded lobster who bears an uncanny resemblance to Santa.

Saturday, Dec. 6, at 11:30 a.m. - Rabbids Invasion "Rabbid Stick-Up/O'Come All Ye Rabbids/Slippery and Soapy"

A Rabbid gets mixed in with a group of goofy bank robbers. / The Rabbids try to recreate the spirit of Christmas by decorating a palm tree on the beach. / A Rabbid makes friends with a bar of soap.

Friday, Dec. 12, at 9 a.m. - Bubble Guppies "A Very Guppy Christmas"

Molly and Gil meet Mr. Claws and his horse Snowflake. When Mr. Grouper's van gets stuck in the holiday snow, Mr. Claws and Snowflake come to the rescue.

Friday, Dec. 19, at 9:30 a.m. - Peppa Pig "Snowy Mountain/The Airport/Flying on Holiday/The Holiday House/End of the Holiday"

"Snowy Mountain": Peppa and her friends are on Snowy Mountain learning how to ski. Their teacher Madame Gazelle was once a world champion but it's Mummy Pig who impresses everyone. / "The Airport": The Pig family is preparing to go on vacation. Peppa and George pack their favorite toys, and Granny and Grandpa are left to look after Goldie the Fish. / "Flying on Holiday": Peppa and her family have landed in Italy where they discover another language. Daddy Pig finds driving around difficult while Peppa rings Granny and Grandpa Pig to check if they are looking after Goldie the Fish. / "The Holiday House": It's the first day in their Italian villa. Peppa and her family explore the local village where there is pizza to eat, presents to buy and a postcard to be sent to Goldie the Fish. / "End of the Holiday": Peppa enjoyed her holiday abroad, but it's now time to go home. Suzy missed Peppa very much and can't wait to see her, while Peppa can't wait to see Goldie the Fish.

Friday, Dec. 5, at 5:30 p.m. - Zack & Quack "The Pop-Up Christmas Calendar/Zack's Christmas Letter"

Zack gives his friends a special pop-up calendar to help them count down the days until Christmas. When Quack and Fluffy accidentally lose all of the Christmas surprises that pop out of it, they have to find a way to make it right. / Zack's mailbox gets frozen at Christmastime so he sets out to deliver his letter to Santa Claus in person, but getting to the North Pole and finding Santa proves harder than Zack and Quack
expected. Now it's going to take a real Christmas miracle to save the day.

Nick Jr. will also air holiday-themed episodes of preschool favorites during the extended Satur-Yay! block from 1-5 p.m., every Saturday in December.

NickMom celebrates the holidays with all-new episodes of Parental Discretion (Friday, Dec. 26, from 10p.m. – 12a.m.); an Adventures of Old Christine marathon (Monday Dec. 22 – Thursday, Dec.25, from 10p.m.-2a.m.); and family-friendly movies like Run Fatboy Run (Monday, Dec. 8, at 11:30p.m.), Angus Thongs and Perfect Snogging (Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 12a.m.) and Ramona and Beezus (Monday, Dec. 15, at 11:30p.m.).
