Below is a Nickelodeon Press Release from PRNewswire:
The Sopranos Cast Reunites For Nickelodeon And MarVista Entertainment's Original Kids TV Movie Nicky Deuce

STEVE SCHIRRIPA, MICHAEL IMPERIOLI, VINCENT CURATOLA AND TONY SIRICO JOIN iCARLY'S NOAH MUNCK AND RITA MORENO

Movie Based on Children's Book Penned by Schirripa and Charles Fleming Commences Production in Montreal, Canada

NEW YORK, Aug. 20, 2012 /Nickelodeon Press Release via PRNewswire/ -- Welcome to the family... Nickelodeon, R&R Productions and MarVista Entertainment have united a star-studded cast including iCarly's Noah Munck and The Sopranos' Steve Schirripa, Michael Imperioli, Vincent Curatola and Tony Sirico, in addition to Rita Moreno, for the original kids TV movie Nicky Deuce. Based on the same-titled popular children's book by Schirripa and Charles Fleming, the movie also features Cristine Prosperi (Degrassi) and Cassius Crieghtney, with potentially more guest appearances to come. Production is underway in Montreal, Canada with a premiere set for 2013 on Nickelodeon and on YTV in Canada.

Munck, who also headlines the Nick pilot Gibby, stars in Nicky Deuce as Nicholas Borelli II, a nerdy, over-protected teen who transforms into the title character. Nicholas gets caught in the adventure of a lifetime when his plans to attend math camp go awry and he is sent to spend the summer with an uncle (played by Schirripa) he never knew he had in Brooklyn, NY. A fish out of water at first, Nicholas leans on local kids to help him fit in and winds up mistakenly earning a reputation as a tough guy. When confronted with some questionable dealings, Nicky uncovers family secrets and learns that the mean streets of Brooklyn aren't always what they seem.

"Nicky Deuce is a comedic coming-of-age story that is uniquely Nickelodeon," said Marjorie Cohn, President, Original Programming and Development, Nickelodeon Group. "Kids will love seeing Noah Munck in this new light – as culture-shocked Nicky who goes from mathlete to unlikely urban legend on the streets of Bensonhurst. Steve Schirripa not only wrote the book the movie is based on, but plays Uncle Frankie and brought in a bunch of his former Sopranos castmates to add a level of authenticity and fun to the movie."

"Nicky Deuce is an incredible production with top-notch talent in front of and behind the camera, and we are proud to be in business with such esteemed partners as Nickelodeon and YTV," states Fernando Szew, CEO, MarVista Entertainment. "Noah Munck, The Sopranos cast members and the incredible Rita Moreno are all bringing a ton of spirit and talent to this project, and it's as much of a joy to produce as it will be to watch."

In addition to his co-starring role in the film, Schirripa serves as executive producer alongside R&R's Ron Gilbert and MarVista's Fernando Szew (Beyond the Break, 3 Holiday Tails) and Robyn Snyder (A Golden Christmas, 16 Wishes, I Me Wed). Jon Rosenbaum (Big Time Rush, Supah Ninjas) is directing from a script by Art Brown (The Boy Who Cried Werewolf, Best Men), Douglas Sloan (The Boy Who Cried Werewolf, Princess Protection Program), Andy Callahan (Ties That Bind), Frank Lombardi (The Nanny) and Matt Fleckenstein (iCarly, Victorious). R&R's Ric Nish is producing.

Noah Munck's portrayal of Gibby on iCarly marks the first series regular role for the talented comedic actor and earned him a 2011 Kids' Choice Award nomination. Munck has co-starred in several television series including All of Us, American Body Shop and 1321 Clover and has guest starred in Rules of Engagement, Wizards of Waverly Place, and ER. He made his feature film debut in 2011 as tough-guy Ryan Tucker in The Rainbow Tribe. Munck's filmography also includes roles in Fox 2000′s All About Steve, New Line Cinema's Four Christmases and Columbia Pictures' Bad Teacher starring Cameron Diaz. He will next be seen in Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn.

Steve Schirripa is best known for playing the likeable mobster Bobby Baccalieri on The Sopranos. In addition to his six seasons on that show and 5 seasons on The Secret Life of the American Teenager, his other many television appearances include Joey, King of Queens and My Wife and Kids. Schirripa also hosts, narrates and executive produces the television true-crime series on Investigation Discovery's Nothing Personal, and appeared in Clint Eastwood's Hereafter.

Paulie Walnuts to sing Family Guy theme tune

Former Sopranos star Tony Sirico gets new role as mob dog in Family Guy - and joins Judi Dench, Dennis Waterman and Kelsey Grammer as actors who sing theme tunes.

Tony Sirico, the actor who played Paulie 'Walnuts' Gualtieri in The Sopranos, is soon to join the select band of actors who have sung a television theme tune.

The 70-year-old from New York, whose acting CV includes parts in four Woody Allen films including Bullets Over Broadway, is lined up to sing the theme song for the next season of the Fox animated series Family Guy. Sirico will also have a recurring role as the voice of Vinnie the Dog, a pet with criminal ties that the Griffins buy.

According to reports in America, Sirico will also sing the theme tune, along with lead actor Seth MacFarlane. Sirico is not the first actor to sing a theme tune. Previous notable examples include:

* Dennis Waterman singing the theme tune for Minder, I Could Be So Good For You, which was a top three UK hit in 1980.

* Judi Dench took on the 1936 classic A Fine Romance as the theme song of the BAFTA-winning A Fine Romance, a series starring Dench and her husband, the late Michael Williams.

* Kelsey Grammer was the singer for the closing credits Frasier song, Tossed Salad and Scrambled Eggs.

* Bill Cosby had a 1969 hit single with Hikky Burr, the theme song written and co-performed by Quincy Jones for The Bill Cosby Show.

* Lee Majors sang Unknown Stuntman for his show The Fall Guy. The song was written by Glen A. Larson, Gail Jensen, and David Somerville, and lyrics include a reference to Majors's then-estranged wife, Farrah Fawcett.

* Will Smith performs The Fresh Prince, which was the theme tune to the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The song was written by Smith, with music by Quincy Jones.

* Ronnie Barker sang the theme tune to Going Straight, a a BBC sitcom which was a spin-off from Porridge. The tune, Men Without Women, was released as 7-inch single and had a B-side called The String Bean Queen.

* Chuck Norris drawls his way through The Eyes of the Ranger, the theme tune of the crime series Walker, Texas Ranger. Norris plays a member of the Texas Ranger Division.

Sirico, incidentally, has been much in demand recently. He is also set to voice Tony 'Peanuts' Sirico in the cartoon pilot Colonel Wallace (about an eccentric Southern fried-chicken business) and has just finished filming the Nickelodeon movie Nicky Deuce, in which he plays mobster Charlie Cement. He will also have a film coming out in 2013 called Zarra's Law in which he plays retired police detective Tony Zarra.

Nickelodeon Boy Band "Big Time Rush" On Their Big-Time Name Change, Brotherly Love, And Undying Devotion To Their Fans

Photo: [...] run! The members of Big Time Rush get chased by crazed fans in a photo shoot for PARADE's August 5, 2012 issue.

With more than 800,000 votes cast, hottie boy band Big Time Rush has been declared the winner of PARADE and Wetpaint Entertainment's first annual boy-band smackdown. And guess what? They're appearing on the cover of PARADE magazine this Sunday, August 5!

In case you were wondering, the runners-up were apparently-not-quite-as-hot British band One Direction. And coming in last-but-not-least place was fellow Brit band The Wanted.

Writer Connie Schultz visited with the guys of Nickelodeon's winning boy band — Kendall Schmidt, 21, Logan Henderson, 22, Carlos Pena Jr., 22 and James Maslow, 22 — and discovered that behind the hoards of hyperventilating girls is a group of twentysomething pop singers who appreciate each and every fan.

Check out the full interview in this Sunday's issue of PARADE!

When asked if they like each other as much as it seems, they light up like fireflies.
Logan: Yeah. We argue like brothers, but we love each other.

It was the band members themselves who came up with the name Big Time Rush, or BTR to fans.

Logan: [Nickelodeon] had Go Big Time, but we couldn’t stand it.

Photo Credit: Jake Chessum For PARADE
Photo: Are those fans or zombies? Let's call them zombie-fans. Big Time Rush ain't afraid of no zombie-fans.

They're serious about their music. Like prefab boy bands before them, they're learning to exercise creative control. They co-wrote eight of the songs on Elevate.

James: The second time around we were like, "This is our band. We should be contributing to what it is."
Kendall: We also decided, "Hey, we’re grown men. We can pick out our own shoes for the cover."

And they take special care with their fans. They know what it feels like to be treated badly by someone they admire.

Kendall: How many artists have you seen just walk away and act like it's not important?
Carlos: I hate meeting my favorite bands because then it just ruins it.
James: Yeah. They act like they’re better, and nobody’s better than somebody else. By all means, we’re not perfect, but I think the least we can do for our fans is be nice.
Logan: For us to even say hi to someone, to change their day around or change something inside of them — that’s a pretty cool feeling.

Nickelodeon Star And Actor Taylor Gray (Who Plays 'Bucket' In The Nickelodeon Show "Bucket & Skinner's Epic Adventures") Stars In New Basketball-Themed Movie "Thunderstruck"

From the Associated Press (AP) via The Lexington, KY Herald-Leader:
Kevin Durant goes from gold medal to red carpet

OKLAHOMA CITY — Kevin Durant is going from representing the red, white and blue to walking the red carpet.

Adding to a resume that already includes being a three-time NBA scoring champion and Olympic gold medalist, Durant was the star as his movie "Thunderstruck" premiered in Oklahoma City's Bricktown entertainment district Sunday night. It opens in other theaters Friday.

Durant strolled down a red carpet in a black T-shirt, grey vest, white jeans and black sneakers to answer questions about his acting skills instead of the deadly shooting ability that propelled the Oklahoma City Thunder to the NBA Finals last season.

"Of course, people are going to look at it a little different because I'm a basketball player and I'm doing something different," Durant said. "A basketball player is what I do. It's not really just solely who I am. I like to do other things.

"It's all about conquering your fears. That's one thing I did with this, stepping in front of a camera and people yelling 'Action!' It's not the norm for me. I did something outside the box, and I'm glad it turned out pretty well."

Durant was getting his first chance to see the completed project, which was shot in Louisiana during the NBA lockout last year and then during the season in Oklahoma City in January.

It also features Nickelodeon star Taylor Gray, Brandon T. Jackson from "Big Momma's House" and Jim Belushi. Gray plays a Thunder fan whose lack of basketball ability is magically switched with Durant's All-Star skill set.

"I'm just blessed. I'm just blessed to be alive, first of all. Blessed to be here, to have this opportunity," Durant said.

"Not too many people can say they starred in a movie as a basketball player, with a lot of different things they're juggling, but I'm glad I did it."

The folks at Warner Bros. might not have been able to pick a better time to put out a movie starring Durant, exactly one week after he won Olympic gold as Team USA's leading scorer and a little over a month after he played against LeBron James' Miami Heat for the NBA title.

The family comedy follows in the footsteps of other movies with NBA superstars as the headliners, including "Space Jam" starring Michael Jordan and "Kazaam" with Shaquille O'Neal.

"When a guy goes over and hugs his mom after the game, that's a guy that people are going to like and that's what you need in a movie," director John Whitesell said. "You need a guy, a star, who people are going to want to relate to or are going to care about.

"You want people to care that Kevin can't shoot. If LeBron can't shoot, I don't care. I'm happy. But if Kevin can't shoot, I'm sad."

Whitesell said Durant might have been caught off guard by the days he had to be on set and in front of the camera for 12 hours, when his previous experience was with much briefer commercial shoots.

The first day, he had Durant bounce a ball in a gym and worked toward getting him comfortable in his own shoes - because he plays himself in the movie.

"I wanted to create an atmosphere for him that he felt comfortable and confident in, so that he could grow into it as we went, and I think that went really well," said Whitesell, who remembered his only other experience filming athletes coming on a cameo appearance by Patrick Ewing and Mark Jackson on the short-lived NBC show "Tattingers."

Gray said he played varsity basketball as a junior in high school, but then left to start shooting TV shows. He walks away with an unforgettable memory from playing one-on-one against Durant.

"It's like, to this day, my biggest accomplishment in basketball. He was really guarding me and had blocked like the last three shots and I was just running around throwing up hook shots and anything I could, and one fell in," said Gray, who hopes the film will help him land roles in future movies.

Durant has said he doesn't see himself doing any more feature-length movies because of the demands on his time. Whitesell put it this way: He doesn't think Durant will do another movie at least until he wins a championship.

"This is a guy who everybody wants a piece of him right now and he's got a lot on his plate. But I know from when we were there what he cares about. He cares about basketball," Whitesell said. "He wants to win a championship, he wants to do the best he can possibly do at that and he's just blossoming."

Already, Durant has accomplished one goal by winning gold in London alongside James, Kobe Bryant and other NBA stars. He said he didn't get much ribbing about being a movie star, although a couple of his Olympic teammates did ask about it.

He planned to send a text message to them all after getting to see the movie for the first time.

"Hopefully they'll take their kids to see it, and hopefully they enjoy it," Durant said. "Those guys, man, they're unbelievable. They support everything. Those guys are really good teammates. I was blessed that I got that opportunity to be around such great players but such humble guys as well."
