"Saved By The Bell" Star Says He's "Definitely Open" To Reviving The '90s Classic On Netflix

The nostalgic revival trend is something every big media company has a finger in at the moment, and Netflix is no stranger, having brought back Gilmore Girls to critical acclaim and Full House to... less acclaim.

One of the most requested revivals among '90s kids and fans of garish neon jackets is Saved by the Bell, which aired on NBC in the United States in the nineties and on Nickelodeon UK in the noughties.

Mario Lopez, who played AC Slater in the show (and now hosts a Candy Crush gameshow...), was asked about the possibility of a reunion by The Wrap, and this is what he said.

"I've got so much going on, it'd be kind of tough. But if there's a way to pull it off, I'm definitely open to it.

"It'd be a lot of fun to do, and I love those guys."

Although it doesn't look like a reunion show is happening any time soon, it doesn't mean Saved by the Bell hasn't been making the news in the last year or so.

For example, Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack Morris), Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano), Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly Kapowski) and Dennis Haskins (Principal Belding) recently reunited for a sketch on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Most recently, Zack Morris actor Mark-Paul Gosselaar apologised for a "completely racist" episode where his character dressed up as a Native American.

It was also revealed that the memorable caffeine pill addiction storyline was originally meant to be about speed, although most of the script remained untouched.

Additionally, Saved by the Bell's executive producer Peter Engel revealed to TVLine that the shows golden couple Zack and Kelly -
wouldn't still be married to each other!

Saved by the Bell currently airs on The Vault in the UK.

Australia: Boost Juice Releases PAW Patrol Kids Cups

Original Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand Press Release via Nickelodeon Trade:

BOOST JUICE RELEASES PAW PATROL KIDS CUPS

Partnering up with Nick Jr.’s wildly popular PAW Patrol, Boost Juice has launched 4 limited edition kids cups, just in time for the school holidays.

From June 26, kids will be able to collect four PAWsome cups featuring the adventurous pups; Chase, Skye, Marshall or Everest which will be available exclusively at participating Boost Juice stores nationally.

Not only will children across Australia be able to enjoy their favourite smoothie or juice in an exclusive PAW Patrol cup, but each cup will unlock a free prize including the chance to win a family holiday to Nickelodeon’s Lost Lagoon in Malaysia.

PAW Patrol enjoys more than 7.3 million children tuning into the action-adventure series on Nick Jr., Channel Nine and Go! every year that stars a pack of heroic puppies led by Ryder working together on high-stakes rescue missions to protect the Adventure Bay community.

Claire O’Connor, Vice President of Consumer Products and Retail Marketing for Asia Pacific is thrilled to see the PAW Patrol pups racing into Boost stores, “We know how much kids across Australia love PAW Patrol and this new range of collectable cups allows kids to take another piece of the action home.”

The launch of the new cups comes after Boost unveiled their first ever Kids Menu range earlier this month. The range consists of four new smoothies; Banana Bandit, Choc Champion, Berry’d Treasure and Mango Magician. Boost took the range to a primary school to test during the menus development phase, giving their toughest critics the opportunity to tell them what they really thought and ensuring that it would be something kids genuinely enjoyed.

Boost Marketing Director, Jodi Murray-Freedman said “With only five per cent of Aussie kids eating their daily recommended intake of fruit and veg, we created a range of smoothies that parents would feel confident choosing for their little ones when out and about.”

“We knew that in order to ensure the range would appeal to kids we had to make ensure they enjoyed it, it’s risky putting kale in a smoothie and 100% cocoa powder instead of chocolate powder – but kids love it, making it a win-win for parents and kids alike.”

“In addition to the new menu, partnering up with Nickelodeon means we are able to bring adventure and fun to our new smoothies and have parents and kids coming back for more.”

Kids will able to take a piece of the adventure home with the limited-edition cups available across Australia from the June 26 2017 and will be supplied with your favourite smoothie or juice from $5.50.

UK: London Live To Air Three Seasons Of "Power Rangers" As Part Of New Children's Strand, "Bounce"

London Live, a local television channel in London, England, UK, is launching a new children’s programming strand called Bounce to coincide with the beginning of the school summer holidays on Monday 17th July 2017.

Bounce will broadcast Monday to Saturdays 6-9 am, and promises to deliver compelling and innovative programming, engaging with children aged 4 to 15 in and around the capital. In the future, the programming block could be developed further to include Sunday mornings and early evening when kids get home from school.

Partnering with established content distributors Saban Brands and Studio 100, titles include a raft of UK premieres including Heidi, Tashi, K3 and the UK TV premiere series of Saban’s Glitter Force. These are in addition to iconic brands Digimon and three seasons from the 24-year series library of Saban’s Power Rangers franchise, including the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue, and Power Rangers S.P.D.

“Bringing Bounce to life is something the team and I are very proud of, the immediate reaction from agencies and clients has been equally enthusiastic,” said Kavita Veeramah-Collins, London Live’s Sales Director. “Our alliance with key content partners, Saban Brands and Studio100, will ensure the strand grows from strength to strength. With a multitude of opportunities alongside traditional spot, advertisers have access to a truly unique and refreshing platform.”

Lucy Myers, London Live’s Programming Director, added: "With over three years’ audience growth under our belt, successfully delivering a multi-genre channel across news, entertainment, factual and film content, the summer school holidays are perfect timing to launch our children's programming strand Bounce.

“A dynamic, fun and energetic strand for boys and girls, the combination of exclusive content including UK Premiere series Glitter Force and Heidi, alongside well-loved titles such as Power Rangers and Digimon, perfectly complements our continuing programme strategy of curating the best quality content for London audiences. We're confident Bounce will delight children and parents alike."

A linear launch is London Live’s first step towards creating a experience for kids whilst giving parents confidence in the environment. But plans are also underway to launch the Bounce app in early 2018 supported by features that will give parents control of their kids viewing. Bounce launches with a consumer activation at Alexandra Palace’s Summer Festival on Saturday 22nd July 2017 as part of a defined marketing strategy that will include local engagement with schools.

Bounce will be found on London Live on Freeview 8, YouView 8, Sky 117 and Virgin 159.
