According to the Burger King employee handbook, the new Burger King x The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants promotion is set to go live at Burger King restaurants in the U.S. on Tuesday, December 2.
At the time of posting, international availability for the Burger King x The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants promotional collab, including for the U.K., is currently unknown.
In The SpongeBob Movie: Search for SquarePants, SpongeBob and his Bikini Bottom friends set sail in their biggest, all-new, can’t miss cinematic event ever! Desperate to be a big guy, SpongeBob sets out to prove his bravery to Mr. Krabs by following The Flying Dutchman – a mysterious swashbuckling ghost pirate – on a seafaring comedy-adventure that takes him to the deepest depths of the deep sea, where no Sponge has gone before. The movie is set to sail into theaters and RealD 3D on Friday, December 19th.
The cast includes Tom Kenny (SpongeBob), Clancy Brown (Mr. Krabs), Rodger Bumpass (Squidward Tentacles), Bill Fagerbakke (Patrick Star), Carolyn Lawrence (Sandy Cheeks), Mr. Lawrence (Plankton), joined by George Lopez, Isis “Ice Spice” Gaston, Arturo Castro, Sherry Cola with Regina Hall, and Mark Hamill (The Flying Dutchman). The SpongeBob feature film is directed by Derek Drymon (Hotel Transylvania 4: Transformania), a longtime writer on the franchise. The screenplay is by Emmy winner Pam Brady (Smurfs; Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken; #1 Happy Family USA) and Matt Lieberman (Rumble, Scoob!, The Addams Family), from a story by SpongeBob veterans Marc Ceccarelli & Kaz and Pam Brady.
The film is produced by Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Movies in association with Domain Entertainment and MRC. Producers are Lisa Stewart, p.g.a., Pam Brady and Aaron Dem. Executive producers are Marc Ceccarelli, Vincent Waller, Pete Chiappetta, Anthony Tittanegro and Andrew Lary.
The movie will be accompanied by the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem short Chrome Alone 2: Lost in New Jersey. From producers Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Jeff Rowe, and Ramsay McBean and directed by Kent Seki, the film reunites audiences with the Turtle brothers from the 2023 feature Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem for a festive adventure. Desperate to get off Santa's Naughty List before Christmas, Lincoln resorts to hacking into the North Pole computers and putting himself on the nice list. But when the hack gets out of control, he ends up reversing the Naughty/Nice lists around the world and turning the North Pole itself Naughty. Lincoln enlists his family to go to the North Pole and try to fix the mess he made. Teaming up with his new frenemy, Duncan, the elf who first put him on the naughty list, Lincoln and the Louds must battle a now evil Santa and his minions to save Christmas. Movie special.
