In a new video, Butch Hartman has unveiled that he once planned a Fairly OddParents spin-off featuring Baby Poof, the son of Timmy's fairy godparents, Cosmo and Wanda! The spin-off, titled Spellementary School, named after the Fairly OddParents episode of the same name, would have featured Poof attending spellementary school.
Nickelodeon said: 'NO!" | Butch Hartman
Can you believe that Nickelodeon did NOT want to make this Fairly Oddparents spin-off? I think it would have been amazing! During my career at Nickelodeon I had four shows make it on the air, but there were even more that DIDN'T. Do you want to hear about some of the OTHER original show ideas that Nickelodeon said 'no' to?
In a new video, animator Butch Hartman reveals that he once pitched a Fairly OddParents x Danny Phantom crossover to Nickelodeon, however, a Danny Phantom x Fairly OddParents crossover was ultimately deemed impossible as, whilst both shows have supernatural elements, they don't really mesh well, with a crossover potentially destroying the Danny Phantom Universe. In his video, Butch pitches and sketches ideas of what a Fairly OddParents x Danny Phantom crossover might look like, including a 'Dark Danny' and 'Dark Timmy', along with 'Dark Cosmo' and 'Dark Wanda'.
DANNY vs TIMMY: the crossover TOO CRAZY for Nickelodeon... | Butch Hartman
Hey now! This should be cool! Can you even imagine what a FAIRLY ODDPARENTS/DANNY PHANTOM CROSSOVER would look like? Would you even watch something like that? People have been asking about this for a while now so I thought I'd draw it out for you... in REAL TIME!
The boy band that put him on the map was of little interest to the middle school audience

Chris Kirkpatrick is known for more than just *NSYNC.
The former boy band member recently sat down for an interview with The Fairly OddParents creator Butch Hartman, where the two touched on Kirkpatrick's time as Chip Skylark in the beloved animated series.
"I can't tell you that a day goes by that, if somebody talks to me about *NSYNC or somebody knows who I am. It goes *NSYNC, Chip Skylark and then, 'You were also in an Eminem song.' Like, those are my three. That's my trifecta."
Kirkpatrick recalled revisiting his Ohio middle school around 2008, after being asked to talk to the kids about his life in music and entertainment.
"It was a little tiny school. I mean, I think we graduated 70 kids. [But they asked], 'Would you come back and tell them you can be from a small school and end up, you know, making it?' I'm like, 'Yeah, of course.' So, I go back there, and my friend introduced me, and she's like, 'Do you mind if we talk about the Fairly Odd Parents thing you did, too?' And I'm like, 'Yeah, of course. I love it.' "
Kirkpatrick's friend introduced him, and while the crowd wasn't moved by his participation in *NSYNC, when she noted he voiced Chip Skylark, he said "I thought kids' heads were gonna blow up."
"Kids are like screaming, throwing stuff, spitting out of their mouths like, 'Chip, Chip!' So I get up there, and I'm like, 'Okay, well, let me tell you about myself.' I told them about growing up here. Told them about all this stuff," he recalled.
When it came time for the audience to ask questions, the first was from a student who asked, "Is Vicky really mean in real life?" referring to the temperamental babysitter in The Fairly OddParents, voiced by Grey DeLisle.
"I was like, 'She's an actress. She plays a part. In real life, Vicky is really nice, but she plays a part as a mean babysitter.' " He moved on to the next question, which was about the show's protagonist, Timmy Turner.
When he finally did get a music-related question, it was to sing Chip Skylark's iconic song, "My Shiny Teeth and Me."
"I signed more autographs as Chip Skylark than as Chris Kirkpatrick," he admits. "There were kids. They had pictures they drew of me, and I'm like, 'Oh my God, how would Chip sign his name? I don't even know.' "
Hartman said, "That song has become iconic and I'm grateful for that. Not just because I wrote it, but the fact that you sang it so epically. That's you on that song. And that's — you're the only one on that song. You're the only one."
In a new video, The Fairly OddParents creator Butch Hartman reveals that, in a choice between Trixie Tang, Chloe Carmichael, and Vicky's younger sister, Tootie, Timmy Turner would marry Tootie!
Who does TIMMY TURNER MARRY? | Butch Hartman
This is it! The video you've been waiting for! The one that reveals the ultimate secret of the universe: WHO DOES TIMMY TURNER MARRY?? Many theories have been floated throughout the years with no definite answers but NOW...with THIS VIDEO...the answers are HERE!
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS? Did you guess the right answer?
Fairly OddParents' Creator Finally Reveals Who Timmy Turner Married
Viewers saw Timmy's children in season 4 of the beloved cartoon series, but their mom remained a mystery until now
NEED TO KNOW
The Fairly OddParents creator Butch Hartman is finally answering the question of who Timmy Turner marries
A season four episode revealed Timmy had two children, but not who their mother is
Hartman ran down the three main candidates: Timmy's crush Trixie, Tootie who has a crush on Timmy and Chloe, who shares Timmy's fairies
It's a question fans have been asking for over 20 years — who does Timmy Turner marry? Finally, creator Butch Hartman has answered.
Hartman, who also created Danny Phantom and Bunsen Is a Beast, opened up about the question in an April 24 video on his YouTube channel.
The Fairly OddParents followed Timmy Turner, a 10-year-old boy, and his two fairy godparents, Cosmo and Wanda. Though they grant his every wish, they often get Timmy into more trouble and make problems worse — until they figure out an inventive way to solve them.
The Fairly OddParents aired beginning in 2001 on Nickelodeon. The cartoon series ended in 2006, only to return in 2007. It finally wrapped up in 2017.
But the mystery of Timmy's future wife goes back to season four's “Channel Chasers,” which aired as a TV movie. The episode shows the future, where Timmy has two children, Tommy and Tammy.
Tammy's costume leads to some speculation. She's wearing the same glasses Tootie (the younger sister of Timmy's evil babysitter Vicky) does, and she's wearing a headband like Timmy's crush Trixie Tang.
In his video, Hartman, 61, adds one more suspect: Timmy's neighbor Chloe, who lives across the street. Thanks to a shortage of fairies, Timmy has to share Cosmo and Wanda with her.
“Now, Chloe's sweet, she's smart, she's funny, she's a go-getter, she's very energetic and her Timmy pretty much get along, but they're always at odds about who gets to have Cosmo and Wanda first, right? So, that's one possibility,” Hartman said.
As for Trixie, Timmy has the “biggest crush ever” on her, but Hartman points out that in the season four episode “Just the Two of Us,” he wishes that he and Trixie were the only two people in the world. “Then he quickly starts realizing that Trixie's a handful, and it's really hard to deal with her on a one-to-one basis, and that she's always, always, always, always wanting him to tell her that she's pretty,” Hartman said.
Tootie, meanwhile, has a “gigantic, persistent crush on Timmy, to the point of where Timmy has to avoid her at all costs because she is just so over the top.”
Hartman said he's basing his feelings about who Timmy would marry on his “existing knowledge of the ladies involved, based on who he would mesh with the best, and based on who I really think he should marry.”
Because of Trixie's issues when she and Timmy are alone, Hartman said, “I don't think she's right for Timmy. “
Then there's Chloe. Hartman said that because she and Timmy were sharing their fairies, they're “already in a marriage together.” He compares it to “sharing custody of the kids” after a divorce.
That leaves Tootie, who is “sweet and kind and loves Timmy, but is super annoying.” He added, “Her and Timmy both have the shared experience of being tormented by Vicky.”
Hartman finally declared, “I think Chloe's out. I think Timmy marries Tootie.” He explained, “I think Tootie loves him so much she'd do anything for him. Not that she'd be a slave, but she would do whatever it took to make him happy.”
But he speculated that she would change Timmy, too, and “make his little heart of stone turn into a heart of joy and love, because he would love nothing more than to please her, too.” Once he realized how “beautiful and sweet and caring and loving” Tootie is, he said, “Timmy would have no choice but to love her back. And I think that's what happens.” He showed the camera a drawing of adult Timmy and Tootie getting married, too.
Hartman also said that they also alluded to this fate for Timmy in the live-action The Fairly OddParents movie. That film followed a 23-year-old Timmy, played by Drake Bell. Daniella Monet starred with him as Tootie, and Timmy eventually fell for her in the film.
In a new video, The Fairly OddParents creator Butch Hartman reveals that Nickelodeon once stopped a crossover between The Fairly OddParents and SpongeBob SquarePants, two of Nickelodeon's biggest shows at the time, despite SpongeBob SquarePants creator Stephen Hillenburg saying that it was a good idea. Butch also reveals that the late creator of SpongeBob also approached him to work in an animator position on SpongeBob before Fairly OddParents was sold.
Specifically, Hartman said, “I was pretty good friends with Steve Hillenburg (creator of SpongeBob SquarePants), and I said, ‘we should probably do a crossover.’ He was very open to the idea and he thought it would be a great idea. I took the idea to the heads of Nickelodeon, and they said, ‘You’re not doing that.’ I asked them why not and they said, ‘We want to keep SpongeBob on his own, and we want to keep you on your own,’ which was strange because I did a crossover with Jimmy Neutron.” You can see the video for yourself below.
Hartman then explained his thoughts as to why Paramount initially decided to shoot down the crossover concept, “They wouldn’t let me touch SpongeBob, they just wouldn’t let me do it. I think because SpongeBob, in their eyes, was their premier character. I think it would have been awesome.”. Hartman takes the opportunity in the video to spitball crossover ideas, while drawing all the characters who would have been involved.
Pinky Malinky is set to leave Netflix in the New Year, it has been revealed.
Pinky Malinky is a fly-on-the-wall reality show that follows the everyday life of Pinky, an infectiously positive hot dog living in a human world. With his best friends Babs and JJ by his side, Pinky reaches for the stars in the small town of Sackenhack. Through his good spirits and sausage sensibilities, Pinky proves that a "wiener" is only one small letter away from being a "WINNER!"
Produced by Nickelodeon, the series was originally greenlit for its linear channels, however, Nickelodeon sold the rights to Netflix in 2018 as part of Paramount's (then called Viacom) initiate to identify intellectual property within it vaults that could be an ideal fit for a digital or linear programmer outside of the company. The series then premiered as a Netflix Original (although still carrying the Nickelodeon branding), with Part One being released on Tuesday, January 1, 2019, followed by Part Two on April 22, 2019, and Part Three on July 17, 2019. As part of the Netflix partnership, the streamer has bowed several Nickelodeon series and movies, including Glitch Techs, Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling, and Invader ZIM: Enter the Florpus.
However, our friends over at WoNetflix are reporting that all three Parts of Pinky Malinky are set to leave Netflix on Friday, July 17, 2026.
It's important to note that, this is only the show's current leaving date, and Netflix still as plenty of time to renew the rights to the series any time between now and then.
Using the tropes of a mockumentary and reality show format, Pinky and his friends will talk directly to the camera and the audience to share their absurd and silly take on real life. At times, all children feel like they don't fit in and Pinky's undeniably unique point of view as a literal wiener amongst humans will allow kids to laugh at his familiar struggles and enjoy his unusual perspective on the challenges of being a school-aged kid. By always reaching for the stars, Pinky pushes himself further than anyone could imagine. Pinky and his friends' humorous experiences will also be shared across social media and Nickelodeon's digital platforms.
Co-created and co-executive produced by Chris Garbutt and Rikke Asbjoern (The Amazing World of Gumball) and executive produced by Scott Kreamer (Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness), the trio were part of the Artist Collective, an internal diverse group of experienced creators who mentored and supported up-and-coming talent while also collaborating to cultivate, challenge and inspire Nickelodeon's development pipeline.
Under the deal with Netflix, Nickelodeon produced two seasons — 59 episodes — of Pinky Malinky for the streaming service.
It's currently unclear what will happen to Pinky Malinky if it does leave Netflix. The show currently isn't available to watch anywhere else, nor is it available on physical media. Once the rights revert back to Nickelodeon, the show could be released on Paramount+. There is also a good chance that it'll air on Nickelodeon's international channels, where Sharkdog, which, produced Paramount for Netflix, also airs. Oddly, Pinky Malinky did have a small premiere on Nickelodeon, when it randomly started airing on Nickelodeon in Spain in December 2023.
Update (4/7): Nicktoons Global is set to premiere Pinky Malinky on Monday 20th April 2026, our friends over at Insidus are reporting! The series will air weekdays at 14:30 CET, with same day replays at 19:00 CET.
Unfortunately, Pinky Malinky isn't the only Nickelodeon show set to leave Netflix in the New Year, with Star Trek: Prodigy season two set to leave on Thursday, January 1, 2026. Thankfully, however, this series is available on physical media.

Guy Moon, the four-time Emmy-nominated composer behind the music of Nickelodeon's The Fairly OddParents animated series, has sadly passed away at the age of 63.
Guy Moon / IMDb
Per his family and a Los Angeles County Medical Examiner report, Moon was killed in an accidental traffic collision on the morning of Thursday, January 8 and succumbed to traumatic injuries.
“We are overcome with grief to announce the passing of our beloved patriarch, Guy Moon,” the family said in a statement on Facebook. “We feel singularly blessed to have been able to call him dad and husband. As we stand together at the base of what seems to be an insurmountable grief, we are emboldened to grieve him with honor and courage with the tools that he equipped us with in his beautiful life. He has left an unmistakable legacy, and will be profoundly missed by us, his family, and countless others whose lives he impacted.”
The Annie Award-winning music writer also served as the composer on two more Butch Hartman-created series, Danny Phantom (writing the music for its earworm theme) and T.U.F.F. Puppy. In addition to those projects, he served as a music writer for Big Time Rush, The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest and its reboot, Back at the Barnyard, Cow and Chicken and The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy.
Outside of series and animation, Moon composed scores for films like 2017’s The Crash (starring John Leguizamo, Minnie Driver and AnnaSophia Robb), The Brady Bunch Movie, A Very Brady Sequel and the three live-action Fairly OddParents movies (starring Drake Bell and Danielle Monet). He also contributed to soundtracks for movies like Minority Report, Fight Club and Mystic Pizza.
Moon’s family noted a celebration of his life is being tentatively planned on his birthday, Saturday, February 7, in the Los Angeles area, and another sometime after in his hometown in Wisconsin.
On X, Butch Hartman, creator of many of the shows that Moon worked on, paid tribute to the late musician, saying:
Guy Moon has passed on to Heaven
I can’t believe I wrote those words but there they are. I am devastated and crying as I write this. It’s taken me three days to compose myself enough to sit at a keyboard and express my thoughts.
Guy Moon - my colleague, my friend, my brother - my family - passed on to Heaven on Thursday. I’m told it was sudden. I don’t know if that’s better or worse, all I know is that I didn’t get a chance to say goodbye and that’s the part that eats at me the most. I wasn’t part of his immediate clan but having known him for 30 years my wife, Julieann and I basically ‘adopted ourselves’ into his family.
To say that he was a huge part of my career journey is an understatement. He wasn’t just a part of it; he was fused with it. There’s no ‘Butch Hartman Show’ without Guy Moon. His music was involved in everything - and I mean EVERYTHING – I’ve ever done professionally. Every episode, every song, every note. It was all him.
I first met him in 1996 at Cartoon Network while working on ‘Johnny Bravo’. His amazing attitude, kindness, warmth, overall sense of fun – not to mention the INCREDIBLE musical talent he possessed – were evident right from the start. From there he worked on the original pilot for ‘The Fairly Oddparents’ in 1997 all the way through its entire run until 2018. Not only did he score EVERY EPISODE he was responsible for some of the most classic hits from ‘ICKY VICKY’ to ‘MY SHINY TEETH AND ME’. The incredible thing was, while Fairly Oddparents was still running I handed him a brand-new show called ‘DANNY PHANTOM’. It was completely different but that was no problem for him. He slid into it so effortlessly it almost seemed unreal. He helped me compose the classic theme song and he did the score for, yes, EVERY SINGLE episode. Keep in mind, he was doing Fairly Oddparents the entire time as well. But this is how gifted people do things: they make it look easy to us mere mortals.
From there it was ‘TUFF PUPPY’. Yep, he did the theme and every episode.
Then it was ‘BUNSEN IS A BEAST’. Same thing. He did it all. Completely and wonderfully.
Then we did ‘HOBBY KIDS ADVENTURES’ and he nailed that one, too.
By this time, I barely even had to communicate to Guy what was needed for each episode. Of each new project. We knew each other’s rhythms so well by then. The final show we worked on together were 40 episodes of ‘THE GARDEN CARTOON’. After 3 years of production, he had JUST finished the final episode in November of 2025. I truly believe it’s a fitting capstone to an incredible career as this show teaches kids about the Bible and Jesus Christ. I know Guy was as proud of it and through this show and all the others I know his legacy will continue for DECADES to come. Music lives forever even if our bodies don’t.
He could, quite literally, compose anything I asked him for. Pop, jazz, rock, opera, 1920’s Ragtime, whatever it was the story needed he could do. The crazy thing was he could do it without even thinking. That’s how gifted he was.
Maybe the most important thing about our relationship was that he was the first one to encourage me to seek Jesus. He never pushed it, I just saw how he acted. What his example was. From there I got inspired and now Jesus is my Lord and Savior. Guy didn’t make the decision for me; he just showed me the door. I praise God for his obedience.
I’ll be saying a lot more about this as the days and weeks roll by. I’m at a loss, truly. Time will make it easier, I know, as it always does and most of the pain will eventually be forgotten. But Guy – thanks to his incredible music and his amazing legacy - will never be. That warms my heart.
Rest with the Prince of Peace, my friend. My brother. My family.
Until we see each other again - -
-Butch
Voice actor Tara Strong, who voiced Timmy Turner on The Fairly OddParents, also paid tribute to Moon on X, saying:
"Oh no!!! Sending my love to his family, he was a pleasure to work with and so brilliant".
Guy Moon has passed on to Heaven I can’t believe I wrote those words but there they are. I am devastated and crying as I write this. Voice actor Jim Ward, best known for his recurring roles on the Nickelodeon animated series The Fairly OddParents, sadly passed away on Wednesday, December 10. He was 66.
Ward died following a battle with Alzheimer's disease, the actor's agent, Arlene Thornton, confirmed to media outlets on Thursday, December 11.
"His ability to improvise on the spot, as well as his dead-on impressions, were beyond impressive," Thornton said in a statement. "He was a one-man comedy show every time he came to the office to do his auditions. We will miss him dearly, and we will never forget the joy he brought to our lives on a daily basis."
Despite his TV pedigree, it was the world of gaming where Ward's voice-over career truly took off. In the early '90s, the actor appeared in several video games, including Spider-Man vs. The Kingpin, Grim Fandango, King's Quest: Mask of Eternity and Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.
Ward expanded into film and TV in the late '90s and early 2000s with roles in Casper Meets Wendy, Spirited Away and Totally Spies! The voice-over actor would later become a staple on Nickelodeon, appearing on the series The Fairly OddParents, Hey Arnold!, Danny Phantom, My Life as a Teenage Robot and Avatar: The Last Airbender.
L-R: Doug Dimmadome and Chet Ubetcha in 'The Fairly OddParents' | Nickelodeon
On Fairly OddParents, Ward played business tycoon Doug Dimmadome and news anchor Chet Ubetcha, in addition to various other characters, over the course of a 95-episode stint. Dimmadome has become a meme over the years, thanks to his tall hat and ownership of the Dimmsdale Dimmadome.
In 2009, Ward's performance as Stoker in the 2006 revival of the sci-fi action series Biker Mice from Mars won him a Daytime Emmy Award for outstanding performer in an animated program.
From 2004 to 2017, Ward was the co-host of The Stephanie Miller Show, a syndicated progressive talk radio program that featured a number of his impersonations of political figures and other celebrities and news makers.
In 2021, it was reported that Ward had developed symptoms of a precocious form of Alzheimer's disease and contracted a severe case of COVID-19, leaving him unable to continue voice acting.
On December 10, 2025, Ward's radio colleague Miller announced she had received an email from Ward's wife, announcing that he had died earlier that morning.
Butch Hartman, the creator of The Fairly OddParents and Danny Phantom paid tribute to the late actor on Facebook, saying:
"My good friend, colleague and voice actor extraordinaire JIM WARD has sadly passed away. I had the great pleasure and honor of working with Jim for many years on “The Fairly Oddparents” and other shows. He did the iconic voices of some of the most classic characters ever including CHET UBETCHA and DOUG DIMMADOME. To say the voice over world has lost a giant is an understatement. Rest in peace, dear friend and thank you for blessing us with your incredible talent and charm. Love you, brother. ✝️🩷😢 #voiceover #rip #fairlyoddparents #nickelodeon #childhood #hollywood"
