Nickelodeon Arabia To Premiere "I Am Frankie" On Sunday 19th November 2017

A cutting edge, experimental android navigates the perils and wonders of being a teenager in I Am Frankie, Nickelodeon’s newest serialized live-action show, premiering Sunday 19th November 2017 at 13:24 on Nickelodeon Arabia! Locally titled انا فرانكي, the series tells the story of Frankie Gaines (Alex Hook), who looks like any other human girl, but harbors a big secret--she functions as a high-tech computer, complete with internet access, extensive memory and more. In fact, you could say she's Wired Differently than other teenagers! Following the series premiere, new episodes of I Am Frankie will premiere everyday 13:24 on Nickelodeon Arabia.


After escaping from tech company EGG Labs to avoid being used for evil purposes, Frankie enrolls in high school in an attempt to pass as a typical teenager. Despite having an inside full of wires and circuits, Frankie begins to adapt well by bonding with her new best friend Dayton (Nicole Alyse Nelson), juggling loads of homework and dealing with boy crushes, all while keeping her true identity a secret.

Suspicion soon arises about Frankie, as popular girls Tammy (Mohana Krishnan), Lucia (Uriel Baldesco) and Makayla (Kristi Beckett) question her quick victory during a math competition. To complicate things even further, Frankie’s wiring goes haywire as she starts experiencing human emotion, creating more challenges and adventurous fun. How long can she keep her true identity a secret while maintaining herself as a normal teenager?



Filmed in the new state-of-the-art Viacom International Studios in Miami, I am Frankie was originally produced as Yo Soy Franky by Nickelodeon Latin America in Colombia. The series is created by renowned Argentine writer Marcela Citterio. The English language version is produced by Paradiso Pictures and Nickelodeon Latin America.

I Am Frankie received its world premiere on Monday 11th September 2017 on Nickelodeon USA, and is currently being distributed to Nickelodeon’s global audiences spanning 170+ countries and territories via the brand’s more than 80 channels and branded blocks.

PAW Patrol Live!, presented by Pedigree, brings everybody's favorite pups to the stage for an action-packed, high-energy, musical adventure. When Mayor Goodway goes missing during the day of The Great Adventure Bay Race, the pups come to the rescue. Join Ryder, Chase, Marshall, Rocky, Rubble, Zuma, Skye and Everest when they visit Boise! Featuring a cast of everybody's favorite PAW Patrol characters and presented by VStar Entertainment Group and Nickelodeon, PAW Patrol Live! shows that "no job is too big, no pup is too small," and shares lessons for all ages about citizenship, social skills and problem-solving as the characters each use their unique skills and teamwork. The show includes two acts and an intermission, and engages audiences with Bunraku puppetry, an innovative costuming approach that brings the PAW Patrol characters to life on stage with their vehicles and packs. "Using Bunraku, puppetry elements are built into costumes worn by real actors to create a wonderful combination of life-size pups and to make a stronger connection with the audience. The PAW Patrol cast sings and dances, which brings a fun, realistic parallel between the animated series and the live show," says Jim Waters, producer, VStar Entertainment Group.

The performance features up-tempo music and a brand new cleverly written script that is a good introduction to live theater for kids. Classic theatrical scenery along with a high-tech video wall visually transports families to an authentic PAW Patrol environment, including locations from the TV series, like Adventure Bay, The Lookout, Seal Island, Farmer Yumi's farm and Jake's Mountain. Special interactive video allows the audience to participate via interviews, solve clues with the Pups, follow Mayor Goodway and much more.

Resiliency on the rise despite growing fears of war; Material wealth and success decline as top sources of happiness while quality of time spent rises



Singapore – 8 NOVEMBER, 2017 – Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) today released the Asia Pacific (APAC) findings of its global research study, THE NEXT NORMAL: THE RISE OF RESILIENCE. A follow-up to the original THE NEXT NORMAL study in 2012**, the sequel surveyed over 28,000 people ages 6-54 in 30 countries, and this includes seven countries in this part of the world (Australia, China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, and the Philippines).

The study revealed that over the past five years, concerns about terrorism have increased globally (by 40 percent), while trust has dramatically decreased in people and institutions (down 33 percent for religious leaders, 25 percent for politicians). Closer to home, the top three things believed to be as bad as they can get are: wars around the world, terrorism and cyber-crime. However, people are more resilient than ever. Close to 70 percent of APAC respondents (global: 71 percent) feel equipped to deal with the lemons that life throws at them, and compared to 2012, they feel more upbeat about life (up 16 percent) and slightly more empowered (up 2 percent).

Despite everything happening in the world, people in APAC are happier now than they were five years ago (76 percent vs. 69 percent) and feel less stressed (30 percent vs. 41 percent). They have shifted their sources of happiness toward experiences over things (with “being successful” and “having plenty of money” dropping on the list of top sources of happiness). When it comes to coping mechanisms, music and humour were identified as key tools for navigating life today, with nearly 80 percent using music for inspiration and 65 percent using humour to achieve things in life.

“Five years ago, we embarked upon a revolutionary new research study which gave us a snapshot of life in 2012,” said Christian Kurz, Senior Vice President of Global Consumer Insights at Viacom. “While many big moments – good and bad – have changed the world over the last half decade, what we’ve learned from our second iteration of THE NEXT NORMAL is that despite rising fears, there is a growing resilience and the APAC community is showing healthy positivity about the future.”
