Nickelodeon UK and Nick Jr. UK have become aware that a developer has published a number of unofficial apps branded with Nickelodeon characters including Blaze and the Monster Machines which contain content that is not appropriate for kids of any age on the Google Play platform. As kids and their families are Nickelodeon and Nick Jr.'s priority and their safety is paramount, they are in the process of getting these apps removed from the Android store as a matter of urgency. Please visit facebook.com/NickJrUK for the latest from Nick Jr.

Users can check that they're downloading authentic Nickelodeon branded apps by checking for the 'Offered By Nickelodeon' message on the app's information page on the Google Play store.

Update (24/1): The app, "call Blaze and the Monster Machines 2018" has now been removed from the Google Play store.

A Nickelodeon representative told The Sun: "We were alerted to the illicit Blaze and the Monsters Machines app yesterday along with a range of other content from the same individual. The safety of kids and families are of paramount importance to us.

"Nickelodeon worked as a matter of urgency with Google Play to have all the illegal apps removed. They removed all of the offending content immediately yesterday afternoon”.

A Google spokesperson told the International Business Times: "We have a set of policies designed to provide a great experience for users and developers and we act quickly to remove apps from Google Play that violate those policies."

Tony Stower, head of safety at UK children's charity, the NSPCC, said that parents needed to have "regular conversations with their children about staying safe online".

Based in London, Mark Kingston has been upped to SVP at NVCP, where he'll oversee all of Viacom’s CP business outside of the US.

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has announced that Mark Kingston has been promoted to Senior Vice President (SVP) at Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products (NVCP), where he will oversee the company’s consumer products business, promotions and marketing efforts outside of the US across retail, operations and licensing.

Based in London, Kingston will report to Pam Kaufman, Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at Nickelodeon and president of Nickelodeon Consumer Products, who last year took over global responsibility for Nickelodeon’s billion-dollar consumer products business. Kingston will replace Ron Johnson, who has left the company.

“Mark’s knowledge of the international licensing landscape is second to none,” commented Pam Kaufman. “During his tenure, Mark has significantly expanded our EMEA consumer products business, while also identifying and building new international opportunities and relationships, and developing overarching region specific CP strategies.”

Kingston, whose previous roles focused on managing operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), first joined Viacom in 2011 as Vice President (VP) of European licensing, retail sales and trade marketing. Prior to working at Nickelodeon, Kingston held various roles at The Walt Disney Company and BBC Worldwide, having started his career at Mars UK.

Earlier this month, Nickelodeon International and Viacom Consumer Products inked a global, multi-property merchandise agreement with Saban Brands Israel-owned Wise Toys. The deal–which excludes US territories–will see Wise Toys release a range of Nickelodeon-branded smart toy lines, including plush smartphone and tablet protector Wise Pet, as well as an augmented reality activity box set. Nickelodeon has also agreed an international licensing deal with merchandising company SAMBRO, who will launch a range of Slime-related products - including the Nickelodeon Slime Hyper Blaster - to appeal to the 3+ market, on the shelf and through selected online retailers in the UK from April 2018.

Sambro To Launch Extensive Nickelodeon Slime Range In The UK In April 2018 | Updated

2018 will be the Year Of Nickelodeon Slime!

Nickelodeon International has agreed an licensing deal with merchandising company SAMBRO who will launch a range of Slime-related products to appeal to the 3+ market, on the shelf and through selected online retailers in the UK from April 2018!

Sambro holds the Master Toy rights for the Nickelodeon Slime range globally, excluding North America, and, under the deal, will see the licensee introduce a huge array of Nickelodeon Slime products from Spring/Summer 2018, including in the UK in April 2018!

2017 saw the demand of Slime reach fever pitch and 2018 is set to be the year of Nickelodeon Slime.

Nickelodeon has been synonymous with slime since the number-one entertainment brand for kids introduced the green semi-viscous substance to kids in the 1980's, and Slime is the ultimate symbol of free-spirited mess and the physical embodiment of Nickelodeon's unconventional spirit.

The UK's second annual Slimefest held in October 2017 and hosted by Nickelodeon's very own Jordan Banjo and Perri Kiely, ensured kids were treated to plenty of slime, music and mayhem. The three-day event featured chart-topping acts during the half-term.

Now kids can surprise, celebrate and create in their own homes with a range of green gooey products, which will appeal to their sense of madcap adventure, courtesy of Sambro's range, which embodies Nickelodeon unconventional spirit, allowing kids to get creative with Nickelodeon Slime in their own homes.

The hero product from Sambro's Nickelodeon Slime range is undoubtedly the Nickelodeon Slime Hyper Blaster, which turns water into slime - the ultimate sliming tool! Prepare for everyone to be slimed as the pump-action blaster projects the infamous green liquid up to seven metres. Each Nickelodeon Slime Hyper Blaster comes with 10 packs of instant slime that comes in two colours, ensuring that every kid will be fully prepared and tooled up for every subslime adventure!

Also available is the Nickelodeon Slime Hyper Blaster Accessory Pack, the ultimate way for kids to pimp up their Slime Blaster, which contains a aweslime holster for rapid reload as well as a further 10 packs of Instant Slime, ensuring that the action won't stop. Additional Instant Slime Refills are available in packs of 10 - nobody will escape the slime!

Nickelodeon and Sambro appreciate that some kids may want to be more creative with slime, and, as with all of Sambro's products, the Nickelodeon Slime range will also allow children to get creative with a Make your Own range. Comprising Slime Powder and Slime Activator, kids can mix, shake and make a choice of green, pink or blue slime. Kids can also create with Glow in the Dark, Glitter and Noisy tubs of slime, which, available at pocket money prices, are equally funny and surprising.

2018 is the year of Slime, with a range of retail activation's, public events and and UK honorary sliming. These all tie in with Slime's playful, funny, surprising, smart and unpredictable nature, ensuring that this will be one of the most talked-about ranges of kids' products aimed at the three-plus market!

Sambro has a long-standing partnership with Nickelodeon, winning Licensee of the Year twice, and the Nickelodeon Slime range will strengthen its relationship further.

Commenting on the range Mark Kingston, Senior Vice President, Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products, Viacom International Media Networks, says: “Slime is iconic and synonymous with both Nickelodeon and free-spirited fun.”

Nikki Samuels, Licensing Director at SAMBRO, adds: "We love working with Nickelodeon and this partnership is one of the best yet. Slime is one of the most popular crazes among kids today. This line enables kids to both make slime and get creative in its applications.”

Sambro is set to showcase their latest launches, including their massively popular JoJo Siwa and Bow Bow merchandise range (including the JoJo Siwa Styling Head), and the Hatchimals Glittering Garden, the newest hatch batch straight out of Hatchtopia, at their stand at the London Toy Fair 2018, taking place at Olympia London in Kensington between Tuesday 23rd-Thursday 25th January 2018. Sambro's stand will be located at Gallery 400.
