Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy in 'Landman'

  • As Season 2 of Landman comes to a close, Billy Bob Thornton assures fans they haven’t seen the last of Tommy Norris: Despite his character’s ousting from M-Tex Oil in the Paramount+ show’s penultimate episode, the Oscar-winning actor recently declared that reports he’s leaving the show ahead of Season 3 are nothing more than “AI-generated cr*p.” Thornton told USA Today: “There’s an AI report that Demi [Moore] and I are a couple now, and there’s one that I’m leaving the show [...] They have nothing to do with reality.” [Via Deadline]
  • NCIS: Tony & Ziva won't be returning for a second season. Upon the show's cancelation in December, a ‘Save Tony and Ziva’ fan campaign was launched, which has seen billboards encouraging Paramount to change their decision appear in New York, Los Angeles and Paris, France. Series star Michael Weatherly thanked the fans, saying it “maybe even nudged my tear ducts.” In France, a mobile digital billboard drove through the streets and past the most famous landmarks in France’s capital with the message “Save Tony and Ziva” and an accompanying QR code on the side. The van first stopped at the L’Arc de Triomphe and made rounds of the city, according to the @NCISTivaFans social media account. Over seven hours it visited spots such as the Opéra, Bastille, République, Rivoli, Champs-Élysées and Trocadéro. [Via Deadline]
  • After their first episode of Landman, Bobbi Salvör Menuez has quickly made waves for bringing some unexpected LGBTQIA+ representation to the Taylor Sheridan hit series. The actor, who plays Ainsley’s [Michelle Randolph] non-binary roommate Paigyn Meester in the final stretch of Season 2, admitted to Deadline they were “barely familiar with the Taylor Sheridan universe” and its “immense” impact before joining the Paramount+ series, explaining why they were “excited” to bring a new element to the show. The actor also talks about how they hope to return in the upcoming third season.

Reemah Sakaan Appointed President of UK PSB 5

Reemah Sakaan appointed President of 5

Reemah Sakaan Headshot

London, UK, 15 January 2026:  Paramount has announced the appointment of Reemah Sakaan as the new President of its UK public service broadcaster, 5.

Sakaan was most recently Global CEO of BritBox International, the streaming service operating in eight global markets including the U.S., Canada, Australia, Africa and the Nordics.

She will join 5 on 27 January and will report to Kevin MacLellan, Paramount’s President, International and Global Content Distribution.

In the role of President, 5, Sakaan will lead the broadcaster and oversee its growth strategy as 5 continues to build its presence in streaming. Ben Frow, Chief Content Officer, 5, and his commissioning, content and marketing teams will report into Sakaan, as will the broadcaster’s commercial distribution and product teams. She will also work in close partnership with Lee Sears, Paramount’s President of International Ad Sales.

Sakaan has over two decades’ experience in streaming, global content and public service television. She was a founder and Chief Creative Officer of BritBox when it launched in 2017 and scaled the 50/50 joint venture between BBC and ITV internationally.  Appointed Global CEO in 2020, under her leadership the business grew annually by 25% and in 2024 she oversaw BBC Studio’s acquisition of ITV’s share of the business, before stepping down in 2025.

Whilst at BritBox she negotiated global supply deals with Amazon, Apple, Google and Comcast. She also commissioned and co-produced a wide range of returnable British originals for the global streamer, including the International Emmy-winning Irvine Welch’s Crime; After the Flood; Beyond Paradise; and new Agatha Christie adaptations, Why Didn’t They Ask Evans, Murder Is Easy and Towards Zero.

Prior to BritBox, Sakaan held senior roles within commercial and licence-funded public service broadcasting. She was Director of Marketing & Media for Britain’s largest commercial broadcaster, ITV, where she helped launch ITV Hub, and Head of Marketing for BBC ONE and part of the launch team for iPlayer. She began her career in FMCG marketing for Diageo and Reckitt Benckiser.

Reemah Sakaan succeeds Sarah Rose who left Paramount at the end of 2025 to join The Royal Foundation as Chief Executive Officer.

Announcing the new role, Kevin MacLellan said: “I’m excited that we’ve been able to appoint someone of Reemah’s calibre to be the new President of 5.”

“She brings a wealth of experience in streaming, content and commercial strategy and I look forward to working closely with her to deliver the next phase of 5’s growth journey.”

Reemah Sakaan said: “I’ve long admired 5’s exceptional understanding of its audience.  It consistently punches above its weight and is loved by viewers, advertisers and UK creatives as a place for authentic and resonant British storytelling.

“I can’t wait to work with Ben Frow, Kevin MacLellan and all the team to continue accelerating 5’s streaming growth in the most exciting of new eras."

'Solar Opposites' Alumni Land 'Odd Jobs' Animated Series at Prime Video

Prime Video is adding to its adult animation roster with a series from Solar Opposites alumni Mike McMahan and Dominic Dierkes.

The Amazon-owned streamer has picked up Odd Jobs, a show set 100 years or so in the future that follows a group of gig workers. The show comes from CBS Studios and animation studio Titmouse (Paramount+'s Star Trek: Lower Decks, Prime Video’s The Mighty Nein).

The series order for Odd Jobs comes on the heels of Solar Opposites concluding its six-season run on Hulu last fall. McMahan and Dierkes were executive producers on the final season.

The logline for Odd Jobs reads, “The year is 2127, the world is an extreme late-stage capitalist hellscape. The show follows a reluctant team of gig-workers as they travel around the neo Midwest, doing the weirdest most dangerous tasks the Odd Jobs app demands.”

“While wandering through the wilderness, we accidentally stumbled through a portal and found ourselves hundreds of years in the future,” McMahan and Dierkes said in a statement. “We witnessed bizarre and grotesque portents about where humanity is heading. Instead of acting on those warnings, we’re thrilled to turn them into an animated show.”

Odd Jobs is sharp, absurd, and laugh-out-loud funny, taking a wildly imaginative look at a future that’s as chaotic as it is entertaining,” said Melissa Wolfe, head of animation at Amazon MGM Studios. “Mike and Dominic have built a bold, unpredictable world filled with hilarious characters, and we couldn’t be more excited to partner with CBS Studios and Titmouse to bring this new comedy to Prime Video audiences around the world.”

McMahan and Dierkes will executive produce along with Titmouse principles Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio and Ben Kalina, and Ghostbusters producer Amie Karp.

McMahan, who was an Emmy-winning writer, producer and showrunner on Rick and Morty, also created Star Trek: Lower Decks. Dierkes has also been a writer on shows such as The Mick, Workaholics, Ash vs. Evil Dead and acted on Mystery Team, Community, Parks and Recreation and Mad Men.
