Paramount will lose its most prolific television creator, Taylor Sheridan, who has closed a long-term film and television deal with NBCUniversal, Deadline has confirmed.

There are conflicting reports on when the massive five-year overall deal for film, TV and streaming will begin. Deadline reports that it'll start on Monday, January 1, 2029 after Sheridan’s overall TV deal with Paramount ends (it goes through 2028), however, TheWrap reports that the movie deal starts in 2026 and will run for eight years, while the television deal starts at the end of 2028. Also moving to NBCUniversal is Sheridan’s close collaborator and producing partner David Glasser and his 101 Studios. Glasser has signed a first-look film and TV deal with the new studio that will begin in early 2026, after his company fulfills its current obligations to Paramount.
The new pact could reach as much as $1 billion, a major increase from Sheridan’s most recent TV overall deal at Paramount Global, believed to be worth $200 million, Deadline reports.
This is a shocker that underscores the high stakes and intensity of the new era in the talent wars for top creators that kicked off with Skydance’s acquisition of Paramount Global in August. In one of the combined company’s first major moves, it poached Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer from their longtime home, Netflix, with a similarly massive exclusive four-year film and TV deal.
Sheridan’s departure, first reported by Puck, is also surprising as the new Paramount regime made it clear on day one that he was the top creator on their roster and someone they were looking to keep in the fold for a long time; Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison called him “a singular genius with a perfect track record.”
But the Skydance-Paramount merger came with top executive changes too, including the departures of Paramount Global co-CEO Chris McCarthy, and Paramount Media Networks & Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios COO Keyes Hill-Edgar who were directly involved in the Taylor Sheridan business. The previous regime was known for giving Sheridan a lot of leeway with budgets and control over production, with costs running high — as high as $20M an episode — and shows often filmed at Sheridan’s ranches. In partnership with Glasser, Sheridan earlier this year launched a new studio facility in Texas.
While pricey, Sheridan’s shows have also been very successful. Starting with Yellowstone, Sheridan has launched a slew of hits, with his slate of series for Paramount+ consistently among the streamer’s top performers.
“On Paramount+ today, we have a really great foundation, which is the Taylor Sheridan universe,” Paramount’s Chair of Direct-to-Consumer Cindy Holland said in August.
Sheridan’s current Paramount series include Mayor of Kingstown, Landman, Lioness, Tulsa King and three upcoming Yellowstone spinoffs, The Dutton Ranch (aka Beth & Rip) and The Madison for Paramount+ and Y: Marshals for CBS, along with music reality series The Road, also for CBS.
He is set to deliver more seasons of his ongoing hits and new series to Paramount for three more years, leaving at least a dozen shows at the company before he moves to NBCU, and giving Paramount+’s new leadership time to build a slate of non-Sheridan titles.
In the meanwhile, Sheridan has a presence at NBCU as the mothership Yellowstone series is streaming on Peacock and is among the platform’s most popular offerings.

However, the vast majority (68%) are battling with conflicting advice that they struggle to trust, causing roughly seven in 10 (69%) to feel overwhelmed by the amount of information available.
As part of its Plan for Change, the government is driving national renewal by tackling inequality and unlocking opportunity across the country. Following the rollout of 30 hours government-funded childcare last month, over half a million children are now benefitting from the expertise of this country’s early years professionals, and now the new Best Start in Life campaign will build on this progress by offering evidence-backed advice and support, all in one place.
A new film has launched featuring expert child psychologist Professor Sam Wass, and a partnership with Hasbro’s Peppa Pig, building on the government’s package of support. The film points to the importance of reading, chatting and playing with little ones to help prepare them for school, and helpful content from the Peppa Pig family will feature on the Muddy Puddle Parenting channel. The Muddy Puddle Parenting channel was launched June of this year and aimed to bring multi-platform content and trusted insights to parents through the family-first lens of Peppa Pig. Working alongside parenting expert and clinical psychologist Dr. Becky, the series was marketed as the go-to destination for playful, practical and educational content.
Now the UK Government aims to further the content, and this comes alongside investment to ensure every family can access in-person support too. 65 previously unfunded local areas from Devon to Stockton-on-Tees have this month received their share of a £12m development grant to begin building their Best Start Family Hub offer ahead of rollout beginning next year.

Nickelodeon will be taking viewers on more intergalactic adventures in brand new episodes of Tim Rex in Space season two, starting Monday, November 3, with same day replays on the Nick Jr. channel!
Tim Rex in Space follows a Tyrannosaurus Rex (T-Rex) named Tim, his big brother Tommy, little sister Tia, and triceratops bestie Kai, as they tackle kid-shaped adventures with dino-sized solutions in space. Tim and his family live in a unique world comprised of a cluster of asteroids that make up the town of Rumbleton--a quintessential 21st century suburban town, with each asteroid hosting family homes, cafés, shops, parks, and even a beach. All asteroids are connected by a network of slides, ziplines and trampolines, but can also easily be reached on a quick rocket ride.
The voice cast for Tim Rex in Space features: Cassian Swan-Mckee as Tim; Ace Gill as Tommy; Hope Delaney as Tia; and Jamie Smart as Kai. The cast also includes Stephen Alan Yorke, Nim Miller, Sophia Nomvete, Jessica Robinson, Alex Carter and Lorraine Bruce.

Also signing on for Emily’s Roman holiday are Bryan Greenberg (Junction, Suits LA, How to Make It in America) as Jake, an American living in Paris. Michèle Laroque (Brillantissime) plays Yvette, an old friend of Emily’s boss, Sylvie. Academy Award–nominated actor Minnie Driver (Good Will Hunting, Will & Grace) plays Princess Jane, a friend of Sylvie’s who married into a royal family.
Wait, so Emily’s in Rome now?
Season 4 of the series saw the expat spark a romance with a handsome Italian fashion scion and then move into an Italian apartment to open a Rome office for Agence Grateau. But the locale twist doesn’t mean the name of the show is changing. “Emily’s going to have a presence in Rome,” says Star. “It doesn’t mean she’s not going to be in Paris.”
Sending Emily to Italy to open up a new office was born out of the series creator’s desire to “stay ahead of the audience and take them to unexpected places,” and prove “the show has the ability to have a bigger footprint.”
Emily in Paris Season 4 ranked No. 1 on the Netflix Global Top 10 when it premiered in August. It had 19.9 million views in its first four days, reaching the Top 10 in 93 countries, and has remained on the list for four consecutive weeks since.
In Season 5, Collins was particularly excited to explore what happens between her character and Marcello (Franceschini). “Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily, because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work-life balance,” the actor says. “We want to have Emily be able to smile without condition. We want to see her beyond her vacay mode. And he comes at that perfect time.”
Star, too, is eager to explore their relationship, adding, “I feel like they have a real spark and a real connection and a real romantic connection. A lot of that’s going to continue to play out next season.”
Of course, Emily’s neighbor and on-again, off-again boyfriend Gabriel (Bravo) has an epiphany in the final moments of Season 4, realizing that he wants to be with Emily after all. Communication troubles might have gotten in the way of a real relationship before, with Gabriel ending things between them, and now he’s ready to fight to be with her. But is he too late? “Unfortunately,” says Collins, “Gabriel has to deal with the repercussions of his choice.”
