March 12, 2026 — Today, Paramount+ released the official trailer for the eighth season of the riveting docuseries FBI TRUE, which returns on Tuesday, March 31, exclusively on Paramount+. All ten episodes of the new will be available to stream at launch.

  • This season will feature gripping stories of high-stakes investigations, including the disappearance of 11-year-old Gannon Stauch in Colorado Springs; the search for University of Illinois student Yingying Zhang; a terrifying hostage situation at a synagogue in Colleyville, Texas; the secret the FBI revealed about how they finally brought down mob boss John Gotti, the “Teflon Don”; a deadly bombing spree in Austin, Texas; a chilling murder where the killer stayed behind to cook dinner; and the extraordinary steps FBI agents took to protect their field office during Hurricane Katrina.
  • FBI TRUE shares the raw emotional stories of the agents as they relive the heart-stopping moments of their biggest cases, revealing new details of how they foiled major criminal and terrorist plots. In each episode, FBI TRUE introduces audiences to agents who took great personal risks in the line of duty. The format features legendary FBI special agents who sit down with their fellow agents to share their stories over a coffee or a beer.
  • FBI TRUE is from executive producers Shawn Efran’s Bright North Studios, Craig Turk’s Thinking Hat Productions, and Anne Beagan’s Anne Beagan Productions. Solly Granatstein is showrunner and, along with Morgan Hertzan and Azadeh De Leon, an executive producer. The docuseries is being made in association with CBS and Paramount Global’s See It Now Studios and is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution. Susan Zirinsky and Terence Wrong are the executive producers, and Aysu Saliba and Cara Tortora are supervising producers for See It Now Studios.

Loglines for the all-new episodes of FBI TRUE season eight follow:

  • “Gannon is Missing - Part 1” – When an 11-year-old Colorado Springs boy is reported missing, local police initially classify him as a runaway. Then, his stepmother says that she was raped and he was kidnapped, sending the investigation in a new and more urgent direction.
  • “Gannon is Missing - Part 2” – It’s been more than two weeks since an 11-year-old boy went missing in Colorado Springs. As the investigation grinds on, the FBI recruits his father - an Army National Guard captain - to zero in on a suspect in the desperate hope that he’ll be found.
  • “Where is Yingying Zhang?” – When University of Illinois student Yingying Zhang vanishes from campus, the FBI launches a frantic search to find her. Their investigation leads to a suspect harboring dark fantasies and a chilling secret. Will they find her before it’s too late?
  • “Held Captive In The Synagogue” – A man takes a rabbi and three congregants hostage at a synagogue in Colleyville, Texas. The hostage-taker has a gun, and claims to have bombs in his backpack. He demands the release of a notorious prisoner from a nearby federal medical facility.
  • “Gotti Last Shot at the Teflon Don - Part 1” – Mob boss Paul Castellano is gunned down in broad daylight. The FBI believe they know who’s responsible – his successor John Gotti. Gotti now runs one of the most powerful mafia families in New York. Does the FI have what it takes to take him down?
  • “Gotti Last Shot at the Teflon Don - Part 2” – As boss of the Gambino family, John Gotti has beaten every case the government has thrown at him. The “Teflon Don” seems untouchable, but Gotti’s hubris may play to the FBI’s advantage. Will FBI bugs and Gotti’s big mouth prove to be his downfall?
  • “The Killer Who Stayed for Dinner” – When a woman is found dead in her own home, detectives come upon a curious clue: the killer stuck around to make himself a meal. The cops take DNA from 100 men with no solid leads. It’s time to call in the FBI’s profilers—before the case runs cold.
  • “Terror in Austin - Part 1” – A bomber seems to be targeting Austin’s minority community. Three bombs kill two men and wound two women in 10 days. The FBI leads a multi-agency effort, identifying suspects. But when a bomb goes off in a white neighborhood, theories go up in smoke.
  • “Terror in Austin - Part 2” – With the Austin bomber changing his targets, the body count rises. One bomb explodes in a Fedex sorting facility. Another is found at Fedex before it goes off, giving agents hopeful information as they race to stop the bomber’s trail of destruction.
  • “Chaos In The Hurricane” – For the first time ever, LisaMarie Freitas and Todd Heflin share their harrowing experience guarding the FBI Field Office during Hurricane Katrina. Joining them is Scott Johnson, who was part of the HRT contingent that arrived in Katrina's aftermath.
