'Avatar: The Last Airbender' Set to Come to Unreal Editor in 'Fortnite' In 2026

Avatar: The Last Airbender is coming to Unreal Editor in Fortnite.

Fortnite x Avatar: The Last Airbender

Epic Games has announced that Nickelodeon's beloved Avatar: The Last Airbender will be coming back to Fortnite as part of its Unreal Editor in 2026, allowing gamers to create their own custom worlds and experiences. The news follows the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles leaping into the game using the engine last year.

Fortnite recently launched its Galactic Battle mini-season, which has featured its largest collaboration with Star Wars to date.

During the mini-season, Fortnite introduced an AI version of Darth Vader, which allows players to have full conversations with the Sith Lord in the middle of a match. It would seem as if Epic Games will be expanding this technology in the future, as it was recently announced that creators will be given new AI tools to bring characters and worlds to life through the Unreal Editor.

In a recent post on X (formally, and better known as, Twitter), Epic Games confirmed that Avatar: The Last Airbender will be coming to Fortnite for another collaboration, but it won't be the same as the first time. Instead, creators will be given tools to use in Unreal Editor that will allow them to create their own Avatar: The Last Airbender experiences in Fortnite. During the State of Unreal presentation on June 3, Epic Games said that the tools were being put in the hands of creators due to popular demand, indicating that the first collaboration between the two franchises was a major success. While Epic Games didn't announce a firm release date, it did tell players that they can expect to gain access to these tools sometime in 2026.

The State of Unreal presentation was packed with information about the future of the popular battle royale and even touched on the future of Star Wars in Fortnite. While Epic Games didn't provide a firm timeline, it did state that Star Wars will also be coming to the Unreal Editor, allowing gamers to craft their own experiences using items, weapons, characters, and locations. It's part of an ambitious initiative to expand Fortnite's platform and put more control in the hands of gamers everywhere.

State of Unreal also revealed that the Unreal Editor for Fortnite will be adding a LEGO Brick Editor on June 17 where players can build objects 'brick by brick,' along with Squid Game on June 27.

Update (8/12) - According to reputable Fortnite leaker SamLeakss, "Epic Games appears to be working on a new wave of Avatar Cosmetics." While the exact details have not been officially revealed, many are expecting a variety of Avatar: The Last Airbender character skins. It’s rumored that this time round the character skins could be for Sokka, Azula and Suki.
