GameMill Entertainment has revealed that master waterbender Katara from Nickelodeon's beloved animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender, is the next hero joining the quest in Nicktoons & The Dice of Destiny, unleashing a full kit of spellcasting abilities on the four-player co-op game!
Calm, focused, and absolutely icing the competition with her frozen rain barrage and frozen prison abilities, Katara is a Spellcaster/Healer, and brings to the game several fighting skills and healing abilities, including the Water Whip, a Classic Southern Water Tribe technique, along with Water Wave, Ice Pillar, Focus, Frozen Prison, Healing Pool, and Frozen Rain.
The character reveal also provides a closer look at the game's art style. SpongeBob's typical look didn't have to change much, as it ports well into Dice of Destiny. Katara, meanwhile, has been reimagined as a shorter, squishier character to suit the game's aesthetic, much like how the game handles Leonardo, the Ninja Turtle, who is also making his way to the family game as seen below.
Katara's abilities
The waterbender naturally has a host of water-based abilities that will deal damage to enemies and/or heal allies, making Katara a reliable support character for your Nicktoons party.
- Water Whip - Whips enemies with water, restoring her mana in the process. Leaves behind a puddle that speeds up allies and slows enemies.
- Focus - Restores mana and provides a shield that reduces incoming damage.
- Water Wave - Summons a massive wave that pushes enemies back while dealing damage.
- Ice Pillar - Raises a tower of ice that shoots spinning frost discs outward in all directions.
- Healing Pool - Creates an area-of-effect healing area for allies.
- Frozen Prison - Freezes puddles and enemies at once, dealing damage and stopping enemies in their tracks.
- Frozen Rain Barrage - Summons an ice storm that rains down on the battlefield.
