'PAW Patrol' Currently Casting Three New Female Recurring Characters

Larissa Mair Casting & Associates Inc. has announced that they are currently seeking three young performers from across Ontario to voice three new recurring female characters named Salty, Spice, and Sweets in the PAW Patrol Universe!

'PAW Patrol' casting call for free female pups

Interestingly, the casting call mentions the roles are for the wider PAW Patrol Universe, rather than PAW Patrol itself, which could mean that Salty, Spice and Sweets could feature in a new, currently unannounced spin-off series (for either TV or digital), Rubble & Crew, or a new PAW Patrol subseries. Audition notes reveal that Salty, Spice, and Sweets have a Mountain Base.

The casting notes reveal that Leah Gotcsik will serve as the project's showrunner, which could indicate that a new PAW Patrol spin-off could be in the works. Leah has previously worked on series such as Bubble Guppies, The Tiny Chef Show, Butterbean's Café, Molly of Denali, and Barney's World.

The PAW Patrol casting call was issued on Friday, July 11, 2025, and is set to close on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. EST, with recording scheduled for October 2025. Actors are invited to apply and audition for these roles via the casting call's website.

Character Descriptions:

[SPICE] She/her. Role to sound 7-11 years of age. RECURRING

KEY ADJECTIVES: Emotive, fast-talking, observational, kid-like

Spice is an eager, curious learner, who confidently ask questions and looks up whatever she doesn’t know. She’s not ashamed of her lack of knowledge, in fact, she celebrates her different point of view and life experience. Spice has a nose for finding anyone who is lost and is always prepared with the latest gear in her pup pack -- including things you wouldn’t expect. Spice’s approach to problem solving helps her see things differently and find new uses for unexpected items during rescues. She continues to surprise us and herself with what she can do! Spice calls it as she sees it and has no problem voicing her feelings. This includes perspectives on firsts, feelings, and fears that our kids at home might feel too. But all of this new doesn’t stop her. She might be scared in the moment, but she is courageous and moves forward with the plan – “There is a first time for everything!” And she loves to celebrate everyone’s successes big and small, including her own.

VOICE NOTE: Looking for a voice with warmth, curiosity, and a unique spark. She has a voice that sits in the lower register— open, grounded, and confident in that bold, kid-like way (even when they don’t know all the answers). We’re excited to hear voices that are distinctive, specific, and full of character. Must be capable of expressing big emotions in a way that still feels authentic — she’s a real kid, not a cartoon.

Singing Ability: She should be able to carry a tune and learn new songs quickly. They should be comfortable with a cappella singing. They will also be asked to make animal noises and we are looking for genuine and joyous laughter.

[SWEETS] She/her. Role to sound 7-11 years of age. RECURRING

KEY ADJECTIVES: Confident, upbeat, bright, optimistic, kid-like

A kind, calm and confident leader, Sweets is the first to jump into action with guts, heart and optimism. You can always count on her to have a thoughtful plan because her compassion helps her to understand what the situation calls for and what someone needs. Sweets is determined to solve any problem, even when it puts her in a more precarious predicament. While Sweets takes every rescue seriously, she always maintains her brightness and can-do attitude. Sweets is playful and silly with her friends, especially when she is off the clock. She looks out for them, supporting them with thoughtful words, a caring hug, or a sweet treat. An empathetic animal lover with a big, caring heart, Sweets sees the best in every creature and get easily distracted by their cuteness. She uses a higher-pitched cutie voice when talking to them, like you might talk to a puppy or a baby. This should feel genuine and kind not pretend and pitchy.

VOICE NOTES: Higher pitch; Bubbly and vibrant; Crisp and clear

Singing Ability: She should be able to carry a tune, be comfortable with their singing voice, and be able to learn new songs quickly. They will also be asked to make animal noises and we are looking for genuine and joyous laughter.

[SALTY] She/her. Role to sound 7-11 years of age. RECURRING

KEY ADJECTIVES: Fun-loving, playful, silly, loud, kid-like

A strong, fearless, thrill-seeking and playful pup, Salty is up for any challenge! She is an extreme athlete and an expert in the great outdoors. Salty is confident in her physical abilities and always bouncing with excitement, so much so that she doesn’t always look before she leaps. But that’s no problem for her – getting out of a jam is just another new adventure. As a ukulele-playing musician and all-around entertainer, there’s never a dull moment when Salty is around (also because she gets bored easily). And you know she’s in charge of tunes during any road trip. A boisterous goofball, Salty can calm a nervous animal or fellow PAW pup through play and lead the group in a sing along when a journey seems impossibly long. Most comfortable in the great outdoors, Salty is sure-footed in treacherous terrain and will carry baby animals in backwoods situations, helping them feel at ease.
She shows love through tight hugs, chest bumps and paw-fives. You can hear her signature hiking songs for miles.

VOICE NOTES: Medium register; Can feel the smile and excitement in her voice

Singing Ability: She should be able to carry a tune and learn new songs quickly. They should be comfortable with a cappella singing. They will also be asked to make animal noises and we are looking for genuine and joyous laughter.
