Nick Junior UK and Ireland's brand new show, "Tickety Toc", which Nick Jr. Channel UK and Ireland will start showing in April 2012, is about a special clock in a old clock shop called the "Tickety Toc" clock. As every hour passes, the Tic Toc Clock springs into life to chime in the time. It all happens as regular as clockwork! But chiming the time isn't as easy as it seems! For behind the face of the Tickety Toc Clock lies an extraordinary wooden world where things definitely don’t always run so smoothly. This slapstick show centres on our inseparable heroes, Tommy and Tallulah, and their remarkable friends as they race against time to keep the clock ticking. In this beautifully crafted series, the pressure is always on and every madcap minute counts!

Nickelodeon Promotes Jenna Boyd To SVP Of Nickelodeon Animation; NCP Europe Hires Bettina Arff As Licensing Director; eOne Appoints Francesca Willet

From Animation Insider:
[Nickelodeon] Business Hiring News 2012 (March)

Animation & Kids Media Hiring News (March 2012)

Nickelodeon promotes Jenna Boyd to Senior Vice President of Animation. An interesting story, Boyd has been with Nickelodeon for an estimated fifteen years, starting out with the kid's entertainment group as an intern. Boyd will oversee the pipeline of all new animated series and the recently announced comedy shorts program, focusing on bringing in creator-driven original comedies and fresh animation styles, and developing new contemporary classics. Notably, in 2004, Ms. Boyd moved to Los Angeles as Director of Development, where she oversaw production of a little show called Avatar: the Last Airbender.

In Europe, Bettina Arff heads to Berlin, Germany, where she will take up office as Nickelodeon Consumer Products' Licensing Director for Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Arff's experience in licensed consumer products should do well for her duties in managing Viacom's family-oriented brands in the region. According to sources, category expansion will be a key focus for Arff.
Also from Animation Insider:
eOne Family hires Francesca Willet to guide the division's new licensing efforts. Specifically, as the new Product Development Executive, Willet will target apparel, accessories, and other house categories for children and family properties, such as Ben & Holly's Little Kingdom and Peppa Pig [both animated preschool shows air regularly on Nickelodeon UK and Ireland's Nick Junior preschool channel, Nick Jr. UK and Ireland]. Recently, eOne Family added a pair of licensing and marketing executives.

Nickelodeon And "Victorious" Star Victoria Justice Praises The UK-Irish Boy Band "One Direction"

From Examiner.com:
'Victorious' star Victoria Justice praises One Direction

As you may have heard at this point, British boy band One Direction is getting set to produce a pilot series for Nickelodeon, and one of the network's biggest current stars is certainly saying plenty as a means to support them.

Speaking to E! News at the Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday, here is what "Victorious" Victoria Justice had to say about the band:
"I think they're awesome ... They're supercool. They're super down to earth and I think they're really talented…The fact that they're from the U.K. and have those accents, it's very appealing to a lot of people and they're all supercute guys."
One Direction first became famous on "The X Factor," but has since been able to keep their success going courtesy of everything from their looks to TV appearances.

Are you enjoying seeing this group take the world by storm?

Glee's Tribute Episode to...One Direction?!

It's official: Everyone from Selena Gomez to Michelle Obama is a One Direction fan!

The Simon Cowell-created British boy band had everyone gushing—and dancing—at the Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday.

Read on to find out what some of your fave celebs have to say about the five lads from across the pond.

"I think they're awesome," Victoria Justice told me. "They're supercool. They're super down to earth and I think they're really talented…The fact that they're from the U.K. and have those accents, it's very appealing to a lot of people and they're all supercute guys."

Those guys, if you don't know by now, are Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Zayn Malik. Their album Up All Night made Billboard history by becoming the first debut album by a British group to enter the chart at No. 1.

X Factor star Rachel Crow met them recently in New York City. "Their songs are in my head all the time," she said.

Their hit "What Makes You Beautiful" is her favorite. "I pretend they're singing to me," Crow smiled.

During 1D's Kids' Choice performance, Gomez, Swift and even the First Lady got out of their seats to dance.

Glee's Chris Colfer was walking the orange arrivals carpet just a few feet in front of the guys. It wasn't easy interviewing anyone when 1D was around, because the screaming was deafening. Colfer cracked, "Maybe we'll do a One Direction tribute episode."

Ha!

And 1D seems to be on a campaign to work with Bruno Mars. They recently told E! News they wanted to collaborate with the "Grenade" hitmaker and reiterated it on Saturday. "If we could work with anyone in the world, I think we'd pick Bruno Mars," Harry said. "He's just incredible. He's got the voice. And he's a great performer."

And if that doesn't work out, Louis joked, "Susan Boyle."

Everything The First Lady Of America Needs To Know About Nickelodeon's Slime

From The Independent:
Trending: Everything the First Lady needs to know about gunge

This weekend's 25th annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards saw Justin Bieber, Halle Berry, Will Smith, Taylor Lautner and Chris Colfer of Glee inducted into a very select group of celebrities. No, not the winners of the "Favourite Buttkicker" gong (though Lautner did win that one), but that privileged élite blessed with having been "slimed" on TV.

Even Michelle Obama was part-spattered with the green stuff that, in the UK, we tend to call "gunge". The substance consists of water mixed with an industrial thickening agent (hydroxyethylcellulose is popular in the UK, methylcellulose in the US) and a colourant such as powder paints or food colouring (powder paints are less likely to leave a stain on designer clothing). Gunge/slime was a regular feature of BBC programmes such as Tiswas, Noel's House Party and Dick and Dom in the Bungalow.

In North America, it had a starring role in the Ghostbusters movies, and has long been a favourite prank-based tool for Nickelodeon, the children's channel whose very logo is a blob of orange slime. An honour indeed.
