Ukrainian manufacturer BeFranko has launched a new line of Nick 90's painting by numbers, bringing beloved Nickelodeon characters from the 1990s to life for adult consumers. Featuring characters from Nicktoons such as Rugrats, Hey Arnold!, Rocket Power, AAAHH!!! Real Monsters, Rocko's Modern Life, The Angry Beavers, CatDog, and The Wild Thornberrys, The collection is designed to appeal to the growing kidult trend.
According to Gradus Research, 62% of Ukrainian consumers in 2025 consider a brand when choosing products.
BeFranko’s new collection allows adults to engage with characters from their youth while enjoying a creative and relaxing pastime. The launch also strengthens the connection between consumers and well-known intellectual properties, offering both entertainment and emotional resonance.
The Nick 90's painting by numbers collection is now available in major Ukrainian retail stores, including Aurora Multimarket, EVA and Epicentr K.
Paramount Global, in partnership with 1+1 Media, has announced that Nicktoons and Nick Jr. channels are now available to watch in Ukrainian! The Ukrainian audio tracks for both channels were launched on Thursday 7th December 2023, and are available on a wide range of platforms, including OTT, Viasat satellite packages and cable networks. To make this possible, Paramount Global has translated and dubbed over 47,000 minutes of high-quality content in collaboration with Ukrainian talent. The news follows Paramount launching a Ukrainian audio track for the Nickelodeon channel earlier this year.
Update (9/12): Paramount will reportedly shutter Nickelodeon Ukraine, along with the Nick Jr. and Nicktoons channels currently available in the country on Thursday 1st January 2026.

Aurora, a chain retailer in Ukraine with over 1,700 stores, is launching a charitable promotional campaign under the SpongeBob SquarePants brand. All profits from the sale of selected products will be donated to the "Children of Heroes" Foundation.
In cooperation with Mood Space agency, the official representative of Paramount brands in Ukraine, Aurora signed an agreement with Paramount Consumer Products to produce licensed goods in different categories featuring characters from Bikini Bottom.
Running through June, Aurora Multimart will be offering a variety of exclusive licensed products, including gift boxes with the charms, vitamin lollipops and gummies, exclusive branded clogs for active recreation and room stickers with characters from Nickelodeon's beloved SpongeBob animated series.
All proceeds from the sale of these products will be donated to the "Children of Heroes" Foundation, supporting children who have suffered the loss of a parent, or parents, during the ongoing war. The goal is to raise 2,000,000 UAH, the equivalent of more than $48,000 U.S. dollars.

The release of The Garfield Movie in May inspired the Ukrainian drugstore chain, EVA, which has over 1,500 shops, to collaborate with Paramount Consumer Products and create a unique personal care line. The deal was brokered by Mood Space.
This collaboration includes a selection of bath bombs and a paw-shaped soap dispenser inspired by the movie, based on the iconic Garfield franchise.
The bath bombs offer a relaxing experience and a surprise – squishy toys or a paw-shaped jewelry piece inside. The first batch of 40,000 bombs sold out in the first month and a half.
The line is available in Ukraine.

Aug. 24, 2023 – Paramount+ today announced the four-part original soccer documentary series FOOTBALL MUST GO ON will premiere exclusively on the service in the U.S. on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
FOOTBALL MUST GO ON follows the emotional and physical journey of Ukraine soccer club Shakhtar Donetsk as they compete in the 2022-2023 UEFA Champions League season against the constant backdrop of their homeland being ravaged by war. The fly-on-the-wall documentary series gives viewers an in-depth look at the upheaval and challenges by the Ukraine champions that no team in modern-day sports has ever faced.
Granted unique access by the team, Paramount+ and CBS Sports go with Shakhtar as the players and coaches juggle the demands of playing in club football’s biggest tournament, while monitoring the horrors unfolding at home. Living in Ukraine and ultimately forced by war to decamp to Poland, Shakhtar must play at “home” against European giants Real Madrid, and others, in a Warsaw stadium that also houses refugees from their homeland.
Wherever they play, Shakhtar must focus on the game at hand with the fate of their loved ones and homeland always on their minds. FOOTBALL MUST GO ON is a unique juxtaposition of sports glory, the agony of war and the triumph of the human spirit.

August 23, 2023 – See It Now Studios today announced that SUPERPOWER, the documentary feature film co-directed by Sean Penn and Aaron Kaufman about Ukraine’s fight to maintain freedom from Russia, will premiere exclusively on Paramount+ in the U.S. on Monday, September 18. SUPERPOWER is a heart-wrenching glimpse into a country fighting for its freedom. It features a series of intimate interviews done by Penn with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky over seven trips made in the past two years.
While still in production, SUPERPOWER previewed its work in progress at the Berlin International Film Festival. The now completed film documents the months before the invasion, the hours leading up to the moment Russian President Vladimir Putin launched rockets into Kyiv and the devastating aftermath that continues today.
When filming began in late 2021, Putin’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine was just a looming, if seemingly distant, threat. Penn traveled to Ukraine to learn more about Zelensky, the actor and comedian who played an unlikely presidential candidate on television before becoming the actual President of Ukraine. At that point, Americans primarily knew Zelensky for his rebuffing of President Trump’s attempts at coercion. But on February 24, 2022, while Penn was filming in Kyiv, Russia’s army attacked and shocked the world. As explosions rocked the city, Penn became a front-row witness to this historic “David and Goliath'' struggle.
“We set out to tell a lighthearted tale of this comedic actor who had been elected President of Ukraine and instead became witness to a historic leader and his country’s war for freedom,” said Penn. “When you step into a country of such incredible unity, you realize what we (in the United States) have all been missing.”
“What makes this film extraordinary is the immersive nature of Penn’s journey, which is a hallmark of our studio,” says Susan Zirinsky, President of See It Now Studios. “Being in the President’s bunker the night of the invasion to speak firsthand with Zelensky whose country has been facing down the bloodiest invasion in Europe since World War II, Penn appreciated the extraordinarily historic weight of this moment and understood, from that moment on, the world had changed.”
In SUPERPOWER, Penn talks with veterans from the 2014 invasion; a widow who lost her husband at Maidan; musicians in Kyiv bracing themselves for Putin’s attacks; and key political players. After the current invasion, Penn visits people whose homes and families are destroyed. He ventures to the front lines, where he witnesses soldiers putting their lives on the line, including women who’ve taken up arms to become snipers and children training to defend their country. He also talks to top Ukrainian, Polish and U.S. government officials.
SUPERPOWER presents Zelensky as a leader stepping up to embrace his country’s destiny. Overnight, he became the most significant wartime leader of the modern era. This one-time actor turned president is leading his country in conflict with a nuclear superpower, becoming a crucible of history. Amid moments of levity, inspiration and on-the-ground storytelling, the film shows that Ukraine’s superpower lies in the strength of its leader, its people and ultimately its heart.

Launched in early 2022, Nickelodeon Ukraine Pluto TV is Paramount Global's ad-free channel that broadcasts children’s content in the Ukrainian language for Ukrainian children who have been displaced by Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine. The channel is on air for 24 hours daily, and is available through Paramount's FAST service, Pluto TV, as well as through many TV operators across Europe.
However, with the launch of a dedicated Nickelodeon Ukraine channel in partnership with 1+1 Media, it seems like Paramount may be sunsetting the service, as the channel has been removed from a raft of TV packages, including in France, Poland, and Netherlands, with the channel ending its broadcast in the latter two countries on Friday 30th June 2023.
In Poland, Nickelodeon Ukraine Pluto TV, which was available on Polsat Box, Orange Polska and Canal+, has now been merged with the main Nickelodeon Poland channel, which now carries a Ukrainian audiotrack.
Meanwhile, Nick Ukraine Pluto TV has been withdrawnfrom the basic packages of Dutch operators Ziggo and KPN.
Additionally, Nickelodeon Germany removed the option to stream Nick Ukraine Pluto TV through its official website, nick.de, in May.
Update (5/7) - Dutch telco KPN has announced that, with the departure of Nickelodeon Ukraine Pluto TV, they will offer subscribers Nickelodeon Ukraine - Nickelodeon Global with a Ukrainian soundtrack - later this month. Meanwhile, the channel has also been removed from Movistar Plus+, Orange TV and Vodafone TV in Spain.

This long-awaited initiative will bring favourite children's TV characters to life in Ukrainian for the first time through content localisation. The Nickelodeon channel launched on Thursday 1st June 2023 and is available on a number of platforms with a Ukrainian audio track, including OTT, Viasat satellite packages and cable networks.
The channel showcases a localised version of the world-famous Nickelodeon brand, which has been wowing audiences around the world for over 40 years with its exciting shows created for preschoolers, children aged 6 and over and teenagers. Ukrainian children and their parents now have access to a huge number of top-notch shows and programmes in their native language, which are ideal for family viewing. In addition to global mega-hits such as SpongeBob SquarePants and PAW Patrol, viewers in Ukraine can now watch fully localised popular series such as all five seasons of Henry Danger, as well as the first seasons of Danger Force, Big Nate, The Casagrandes and the highly anticipated SpongeBob SquarePants spin-offs Kamp Koral: SpongeBob's Under Years and The Patrick Star Show.
"The launch of Nickelodeon with Ukrainian-language content is a landmark event in the history of Nickelodeon in Ukraine, bringing favourite children's characters closer to the Ukrainian-speaking audience. Thanks to our productive cooperation with 1+1 media, we are preparing more than 500 hours of outstanding shows in Ukrainian, and the library of localised content will be replenished every day. The news follows Paramount Global launching Nickelodeon Ukraine Pluto TV in 2022. The ad-free channel broadcasts children’s content in the Ukrainian language and was launched for Ukrainian children who have been displaced by Russia's illegal invasion of Ukraine. The channel is on air for 24 hours daily and is available OTT on Pluto TV and through cable and sattelitte packages.

To mark the one-year anniversary of the war in Ukraine, Academy Award®-winning animation studio Aardman and international children’s charity Save the Children released Home, a short film to highlight the experience of refugee children around the world.
Inspired by real-life experiences of children that Save the Children works with, ‘Home’ tells a story about how child refugees feel and what it’s like to be separated from friends, family, and school in a new and unfamiliar setting. It also celebrates the possibilities for children to welcome new refugee friends and learn about different cultures.
The Ukrainian regulator National Council has removed the Paramount Channel from the list of foreign channels allowed to be distributed in the country. According to the regulator, this was done at the request of the licence holder, Paramount Global. The regulator has also expanded the number of languages Nickelodeon Global can be broadcast in Ukraine.
In other changes, the National Council has added four channels – T.TV.I, T.TV.I HD. OstWest24 and GAGSNETWORK to the list of permitted foreign channels, bringing the total to 109. Entertainment-based GAGSNETWORK is registered in California.
Nickelodeon Ukraine Pluto TV is now available to watch on the Polish online TV service WP Pilot as part of the platform's Ukraine TV package. Channel aimed at Ukrainian pre-school and primary-school aged Ukrainian children re-settling in the UK & Europe and those still in Ukraine
A new non-profit YouTube channel created specifically for Ukrainian children displaced by the war will launch across the UK and Europe this summer.
Featuring up to 200 hours of Ukrainian and British content, Sunflower TV has been designed to offer entertainment and respite for the children of Ukrainian refugees who have been forced to flee their homes. Nearly two thirds of Ukrainian children have been displaced as a result of the war¹.
Co-ordinated by PACT, the UK trade body representing the UK’s screen sector, a range of organisations have pulled together to set up the dedicated channel offering programmes for young Ukrainian children who now find themselves living in the UK and Europe as a result of the war and children still in Ukraine.
PACT’s Chief Executive John McVay said: “It’s difficult to imagine the trauma Ukrainian children have suffered as a result of being cruelly uprooted from their homes and communities only to find themselves thousands of miles away living in a country where nothing is familiar.
“Hopefully Sunflower TV can go just a little way in providing them with some kind of light relief or distraction to take their minds off the terrible experiences they’ve been through, even if only momentarily.”
The Ukrainian Institute London is one of many Ukrainian organisations supporting the initiative, providing hands-on advice about how to support the needs of Ukrainians arriving in the UK, and a key principle of the channel is that Ukrainian kids should have free access to enjoy popular UK TV shows - but in their native tongue.
Director of the Ukrainian Institute London, Dr Olesya Khromeychuk, said: “Millions of
Ukrainian families have been displaced as a result of Russia's war against Ukraine.
“Children who have lost their homes, friends, and relatives will certainly benefit from having at least some sense of familiarity by being able to access materials in their native language”.
“And it is important that children don't feel their own language is being drowned out as they
start rebuilding their lives away from home.”
Olga Korol was forced to flee the war and is now focussing her efforts on helping the children and women of Ukraine.
Olga said: “Ukrainian children are now experiencing a very cruel war, a war that will change their lives forever. To support the future of Ukraine and Ukrainian children, a special YouTube channel has been created. The content has been lovingly and carefully selected by some of the best media professionals in the UK with the involvement of child psychologists and Ukrainian mothers. This special YouTube channel will be a wonderful gift for Ukrainian children, a guide to the world of childhood, new knowledge, talents and dreams. See you on Sunflower TV!”
The project has received pan-industry support from a range of key organisations in the creative industries including production companies, broadcasters, distributors and content creators both in the UK and in Ukraine. Organisations involved include: Aardman, All3Media; Banijay; BBC and BBC Studios; Channel 4; Channel 5’s Milkshake!; S4C; Entertainment One; FILM.UA, Fremantle; Glowberry; ITV and ITV Studios; Little Dot Studios; Mattel; Paramount and Nickelodeon; Sky; Starlight Media in Ukraine; STV and YouTube.
More content, such as Enjie Benjy, will continue to be added after the 1stJuly launch date, including additional shows aimed at six to 11-year-olds, increasing to around 200 hours, available for Ukrainian pre-teens in the UK and across Europe.
Other organisations are also urged to make contact if they have content they can offer towards to the new channel. The YouTube channel is after live-action and animated programming, ideally already dubbed in Ukrainian, however Little Dot is exploring the idea of putting displaced Ukrainians to work on dubbing shows that aren’t already available in their language, Chang tells Kidscreen.
John McVay added: “Everyone involved has given up their time and rights to their content for nothing and I’m hugely grateful to the support and enthusiasm all parties have shown in making this happen. It really shows that the creative industries can be a force for good.
“The most important thing is to get Sunflower TV up and running and to make sure Ukrainian families in the UK are aware of this resource for their children.”
¹A recent UNICEF report estimates nearly two thirds of Ukrainian children have been displaced either in Ukraine, or fled across borders, as a result of the war.
