Patrick presents a show about food after missing out on a hearty breakfast in this sneak peek of his brand new show, The Patrick Star Show, premiering Friday, July 9, at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT), followed by the series premiere of Middlemost Post at 7:30, only on Nickelodeon!
The Patrick Star Show is the second spinoff of the number-one animated series SpongeBob SquarePants and follows a younger Patrick Star living at home with his family, where he hosts his own variety show for the neighborhood from his television-turned-bedroom. In the premiere episode, “Late for Breakfast,” Patrick presents a show about food after missing out on a hearty breakfast. Then in “Bummer Jobs,” Patrick and SpongeBob experience the wonders of the workforce.

‘iCarly’ Tries to Break the Birthday Curse in This Sneak Peek from New Episode 'iM Cursed'
Have you ever felt like your birthday was cursed? Carly Shay feels your pain. iCarly‘s latest episode is all about cursed and cake-filled celebrations!
“iM Cursed” takes place on Carly’s (Miranda Cosgrove) birthday. And if you know anything about iCarly you know that chances are high this day of celebration is going to end in a catastrophe. Carly’s (Miranda Cosgrove) 15th birthday ended in disaster when there was an incident at a petting zoo involving a goat, which wasn't revealed, and her Sweet 16 ended with her room getting burned down via a gummy bear lamp. Needless to say Carly and birthdays don’t go together, so this year she wants to keep things simple. Enter Spencer (Jerry Trainor).
When Carly said she wanted to liven up her birthday, she meant put a candle on her signature birthday pie. Spencer took this simple request as throw his unlucky sister a raging party. Even Principal Franklin (Tim Russ) makes an appearance at Carly’s surprise soirée.
“What can I say? I’ve got a Google alert for champagne tower,” Principal Franklin says.
After seeing how many people showed up to celebrate her, Carly almost gives in. Almost. One heartfelt moment later Carly tries to force her party guests out before Spencer stops her. “Listen, it’s going to be a curse-free night. I promise,” Spencer says. “For once let me be the hyper-vigilant one.”

Grey DeLisle-Griffin Snagged the ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Role of Azula By Being ‘Contained and Quiet’
American animation has been at a high point in quality lately, and many have pointed to Nickelodeon's beloved Avatar: The Last Airbender as the show that instigated this trend of creative, thoughtful, and plot-driven cartoons aimed at children. When it came out, Avatar: The Last Airbender was quite unique for having a plot arc across all three seasons, for handling mature and complex topics like the ethics of war and the effects of genocide, and for its well-thought-out characters who developed across the course of the series.

One of these characters, who was beloved by the fandom despite being unambiguously a villain, was Princess Azula. Part of her appeal was in her voice actor, the iconic Grey DeLisle, and the performance she gave. In fact, DeLisle landed the role by taking a unique approach to the character in auditions. What did DeLisle do to make her interpretation stand out so much?
‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’: Azula is both a princess and a formidable soldier
Princess Azula was introduced into the show in the second season. The main antagonist of the first season was Prince Zuko, who was trying to capture protagonist Aang to be able to return to his home in the Fire Nation. However, after this season, Zuko becomes a fugitive, and Azula takes over his quest to capture the Avatar. Azula is shown to be a deadly fighter, whose fire bending generates blue fire and who can bend lightning.
Azula is also highly manipulative and a talented schemer. Much of her plotline in the second season involves infiltrating the Earth Kingdom and getting the better of the formidable secret police. Additionally, she travels with two other skilled fighters: Mai, a morose daughter of nobility who is talented with throwing knives, and Ty Lee, an acrobat who applies her skills in battle. Azula’s cool demeanor combined with her unique fighting skills made her one of the most popular characters on the show — even if she was evil.
Though Azula can and does explode with fiery rage in the show, the thing that makes her so intimidating is how she often seems incredibly cool and unmoved. However, according to Grey DeLisle in an interview with SyFy, many of the voice actors that auditioned for the role of Azula with a high emotionality and would break into yelling on more intense lines. When DeLisle read for the role, she kept herself restrained, and apparently “was one of the only people that didn’t yell as the part.” DeLisle thought about what Azula’s character would be like, and decided to be “very contained and quiet because I felt like Azula was just so powerful she didn’t need to yell at anybody.” Clearly, it worked, because Azula’s voice, diction, and poise made the character an instant standout, and made the moments when Azula’s poise broke that much more intense!
Grey DeLisle has acted many iconic roles
You probably would recognize Grey DeLisle’s voice if you heard it. That’s because she’s acted in numerous cartoons. One of the roles that really brought her fame was on another Nicktoon: Vicky, the evil babysitter on Fairly OddParents (as well as other roles on the show). A year later, she would join What’s New, Scooby-Doo? as Daphne, and reprised the role for 2010’s Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated. She even voiced some supporting roles Avatar sequel The Legend of Korra! On top of this, she does regular voice work for Nickelodeon's hit animated series The Loud House - her son Tex Hammond also voiced Lincoln Loud for a while! - as well as the popular Disney cartoon The Owl House, and has a role in an upcoming Cuphead series. DeLisle is clearly one of the biggest names in voice acting, and it’s not hard to see — or hear — why.

Polaris, the House Band from ‘The Adventures of Pete & Pete’, Announce 2021 Tour
Hey smiling strange, “The Band That Lives Inside Your TV” are back! Polaris, the house band from cult-classic Nickelodeon show The Adventures of Pete & Pete, are escaping from your childhood television set and busting out on a national tour for only the second time ever.
Polaris are Mark Mulcahy (Muggy), David McCaffrey (Jersey), and Scott Boutier (Harris). The three were longtime bandmates in underground favorite Miracle Legion, who’ve also reunited in recent years. Post-Polaris, Mulcahy went on to start an eclectic solo career, becoming one of the most celebrated and revered songwriters making records today. McCaffrey and Boutier played bass and drums together in several acts including Frank Black and the Catholics.
The “21st Century Tour” will find Muggy, Jersey & Harris venturing out to 14 US cities between May and August. They’ll bring a mix of Polaris and Miracle Legion songs, plus some surprises to the sets. These shows will be the first since the band’s highly successful “Waiting for October Tour” in 2014-15, a jaunt across the country that found a generation of now grown-up Nickelodeon fans singing along to every word. The joyful reunion tour culminated in the beautifully recorded and packaged Live at Lincoln Hall double album.
In addition to touring, Polaris’ hit vinyl record, Music from the Adventures of Pete & Pete, will be receiving a special reissue to mark the occasion. The release will be a deluxe vinyl package, including a CD of original demos dating between 1992-95, liner notes from Pete & Pete co-creator Will McRobb, and a complete album lyric sheet. It’s the ultimate edition of a record that Consequence of Sound called “a collection of songs that perfectly capture the confusion, whimsy, and wonder of adolescence.”
Postponed from last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the “21st Century Tour” begins on June 24 in Chicago, IL at Lincoln Hall and wraps up on October 9 in Hamden, CT at the Space Ballroom. Tickets are on sale now. Keep an eye out for additional dates and news from Mezzotint.com, the website of Mulcahy’s Mezzotint label, as more information becomes available.

Polaris Announces 2021-2022 Tour Dates
American indie rock band Polaris has announced a slew of 2021 and 2022 tour dates, which are set to take place this October and next February and July. Their dates in October will hit numerous cities in New England and New York City, while their February tour dates will kick off on the east coast, before wrapping up in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle. Their July tour dates will take place in Chicago and Minneapolis, before wrapping up in Maquoketa.
Originally formed in the 1990s, Polaris was formed by three members of Miracle Legion, Mark Mulcahy, Dave McCaffrey and Scott Boutier, alongside Henning Ohlenbusch. Their main claim to fame came from the Nickelodeon television show The Adventures of Pete & Pete, which the group created music for.
The band’s music from The Adventures of Pete & Pete, was eventually compiled into their only studio album, Music from the Adventures of Pete & Pete: 21st Century Edition, which received a vinyl reissue last fall. One of their new tour dates will take place at The Chapel, which was originally set to host the band back in February,
“This tour was supposed to have happened to coincide with the release of Music from the Adventures of Pete & Pete: 21st Century Edition, but things got all jumbled and cancelled,” a press release for the tour reads. “The record came out (sold out, thank you), but the tour didn’t happen. Some venues closed, some are different. If you still have tickets for any of the original shows you should check with the venue to see if they are still good. We don’t really have anything to do with that. Tickets for all the shows are on sale now. The full list of shows and ticket links are below.”

Thirty-three area teens are showcased in the musical production of the Nickelodeon animated series August 6 & 7 at the SHU Community Theatre
Milford, CT - Pantochino Teen Theatre will present the The SpongeBob Musical at the new SHU Community Theatre in Downtown Fairfield. Co-producers Bert Bernardi and Jimmy Johansmeyer have announced three performances, August 6-7.
The stakes are higher than ever in this dynamic stage musical, as SpongeBob and all of Bikini Bottom face the total annihilation of their undersea world. Chaos erupts. Lives hang in the balance. And just when all hope seems lost, a most unexpected hero rises up and takes center stage. The power of optimism really can save the world!
The SpongeBob Musical is based on the beloved animated series created by Stephen Hillenburg and features a book by Kyle Jarrow, with original songs by Yolanda Adams, Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith, Sara Bareilles, Jonathan Coulton, Alexander Ebert of Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros, The Flaming Lips, Lady Antebellum, Cyndi Lauper, John Legend, Panic! At the Disco, Plain White T's, They Might Be Giants and T.I., and songs by David Bowie, Tom Kenny and Andy Paley. Additional lyrics are by Jonathan Coulton, with additional music by Tom Kitt. The musical production was originally conceived by Tina Landau.
The cast includes thirty-three young actors from Milford, Cromwell, Stratford, Orange, Fairfield, West Haven, East Haven, Trumbull, Shelton, Trumbull, Woodbridge, Ansonia, Monroe, Seymour and Madison.
"We're so excited to share this new, high-energy musical with our Teen Theatre actors," said Bernardi. "In the story, the fate of the world is at stake—what could be more 'right now' than this?" he added.
Sponsored by The Milford Bank and The Community Foundation of Greater New Haven, the musical is produced through special arrangements with Concorde Theatricals, New York City.
Pantochino Teen Theatre allows young actors the opportunity to work with professional directors and designers outside the academic setting, on a schedule matching that of professional summer theater. The SpongeBob Musical has been cast, learned and rehearsed in an immersive ten rehearsals. Bernardi directs the show with Justin Rugg as musical director and Becki Walter, choreographer.
Performances of The SpongeBob Musical are Friday, August 6 at 7:30pm and Saturday August 7 at 1 and 5:30pm. Tickets and information available online at www.pantochino.com.
