Nickelodeon UK Ratings For Week Of Monday 26th October - Sunday 1st November 2020

Nickelodeon UK Network Ratings for week of Monday 26th October - Sunday 1st November 2020.


The Nickelodeon UK Network's ratings were a bit of a mixed bag again this week, according to BARB data. Ratings were down quite a bit for Nickelodeon this week. Horrid Henry was the clear winner of the week for the channel, with the live-action movie taking the top spot. It's Pony also made a welcome appearance.

Over on Nicktoons, new animated series Ollie's Pack got off to a strong start, with acquired series Mr Magoo and Dorg Van Dango also making appearances alongside regulars SpongeBob SquarePants, Horrid Henry and The Loud House.

Meanwhile, Peppa Pig and PAW Patrol continued their reins on Nick Jr. and Nick Jr. Too respectively. Viewing figures were slightly up compared to the previous week (Oct. 19-25).

A quick reminder that Nickelodeon UK will be making a few channel changes on the Sky EPG on Tuesday 10th November 2020:

- Nickelodeon +1, currently on channel number 605, will move down to channel 620
- Nicktoons, currently on 606, will move up one place to 605
- Nick Jr., currently on 615, moves up to 606
- and Nick Jr. Too, currently on 620, will move up to channel number 615.

The Nickelodeon UK Network's ratings were a bit of a mixed bag this week, compared to the previous week (Oct. 4-11), according to BARB data. Danger Force, the spin-off from hit series Henry Danger took a bit of a hit, down 20,900 viewers over the previous week. The Boy Who Cried Werewolf made a welcome appearance, despite premiering nine years ago.

Nickelodeon UK Ratings For Week Of Monday 5th - Sunday 11th October 2020

Nickelodeon UK Network Ratings for week of Monday 5th - Sunday 11th October 2020.


Viewing figures were up generally across the Nickelodeon network compared to the previous week (Sept. 28-Oct.4), according to BARB data. Danger Force, the spin-off from hit series Henry Danger continued to do well, and It's Pony also made a welcome appearance.

SpongeBob SquarePants was Nicktoons' top TV show for the week, with Mr Magoo also returning to the channel's Top 15.

Meanwhile, over on Nickelodeon's preschool channels, Peppa Pig dominated Nick Jr.'s Top 15 chart, taking all 15 spots, and PAW Patrol dominated Nick Jr. Too's, the latter of which is hosting a PAW Patrol pop-up channel.

With all the data combined, this week's Nickelodeon Network Top 15 chart is essentially Nick Jr.'s Top 15.

Viewing figures across the Nickelodeon network were up over the previous week, according to BARB data, with The Thundermans topping Nick's Top 15, and newcomer Mr Magoo topping Nicktoons' - in fact, the series did very well during its second week on-air.

Over on Nickelodeon's preschool channels, an episode of PAW Patrol helped almost double Nick Jr.'s ratings over the previous week, whilst Peppa Pig once again topped Nick Jr. Too's. Nick Jr. Too is currently hosting a Peppa Pig pop-up channel, the show once again dominated both channel's charts.

Xilam Animation (Paris:XIL) (ISIN Code: FR0004034072 ; Symbol: XIL), an independent animation production and distribution company, Academy Award® nominated, has secured a pair of deals with Nickelodeon for its short-form series CGI series Athleticus (60x2’15) and animated comedy Mr Magoo (78x7’). In a global deal, Nickelodeon takes exclusive pay-TV rights to two seasons of Athleticus covering Asia Pacific, EMEA and Latin America. The broadcaster has also acquired all TV rights for Athleticus in Benelux, Italy, Vietnam, Philippines and Argentina. Additionally, Nickelodeon has picked up the exclusive pay-TV rights for Xilam’s hit comedy series Mr Magoo (78x7’) in the UK, where the series launches on Nicktoons this week.

“We’re very excited to be building upon our successful partnership with Nickelodeon and to see the broadcaster become home to two further shows from our slate,” said Morgann Favennec, EVP Distribution at Xilam Animation. “With its charming characters and humorous stories, we know families all over the globe are going to love watching Athleticus and following the fantastic response to Mr Magoo in the UK, we’re very much looking forward to bringing the series’ hilarious hijinks to new audiences.”


Targeting family audiences, Athleticus is produced by Xilam’s recently acquired CGI-studio Cube Creative and features wild animals taking part in competitive sports, ranging from table tennis to high bar, bobsleigh to curling. How successful the animals are at each of the sports entirely depends on their personality and anatomies resulting in very comical, and often poetic, results. The series is created and directed by the multi-award winning Nicolas Deveaux.

Nicktoons UK to Welcome 'Mr Magoo' on Monday 6th July 2020

Nickelodeon UK & Ireland will premiere Mr Magoo, the hilarious new animated slapstick comedy series produced by award-winning French animation studio Xilam Animation, based on the hugely successful classic cartoon of the same name, on Monday 6th July 2020 at 12:00pm on Nicktoons UK & Ireland! Following launch, Mr Magoo will air twice a day, at 12:00pm and 4:30pm on Nicktoons.


In the neighbourhood, everybody loves Mr Magoo — a lively, kind-hearted and cheerful guy always happy to give a helping hand. But beware — he also causes disasters! Without his glasses, he mistakes his surroundings for other places, gets people mixed up, and wreaks havoc everywhere he goes. All his neighbours have kindly adjusted to his uniqueness… except for one: a megalomaniac hamster by the name of Fizz, whose sole goal is to have all of humanity recognize his tremendous genius. He’s determined to leave his mark on history, but somehow Magoo always interferes, forever thwarting Fizz’s crazy plans!


Originally commissioned by France Télévisions, Mr Magoo season one (78 x 7’) currently airs on Turner’s Boomerang channel in France, Africa, the Middle East, Israel, Turkey and Nordics, Cartoon Network (Asia), Discovery Kids (Latin America), Super RTL (Germany), VRT and RTBF (Belgium), SIC K (Portugal), RTVE (Spain), RTS (Switzerland), CITV (UK), Discovery and DEA Kids (Italy), among other channels.

“Since debuting in fall 2018, Mr Magoo has drawn strong ratings and captured the hearts of kids and their families around the world,” said Marc du Pontavice of Xilam."

The news follows ViacomCBS, the parent company of the Nickelodeon brand debuting the all new Mr Magoo animated series on CBS All Access, through a deal with DreamWorks Animation’s Classic Media in January 2020.


“The original version of Mr Magoo was first created in the U.S. so we’re delighted DreamWorks has now come on board to introduce local audiences to our fresh take on this wonderfully candid and optimistic character, back where it all began 70 years ago,” said Pontavice at the time.

Mr Magoo has been adapted by Olivier Jean-Marie and Xilam’s Hugo Gittard from John Hubley’s original series and character Mr. Quincy Magoo, created in 1949. Hugo Gittard is also showrunner of the new series.

In additional news, Virgin Media has revealed how Covid-19 (coronavirus) has shifted the nation’s TV viewing habits in new data published.

With the majority of schools closed throughout the country, viewers spent 5 hours more on average during April watching Pay TV kids channels such as Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network compared to February.

Overall, Pay kids TV channels saw a 19% increase in viewing time during early lockdown with Paw Patrol, Peppa Pig and Fireman Sam proving popular with younger viewers.
