Super! Italy to Premiere 'iCarly (2021)' in September 2026

The Italian free-to-air (FTA) children's channel Super! will start to air iCarly (2021), the hit Paramount+ Original comedy series, from Monday 14th September 2026! The series is a revival of Nickelodeon's iconic comedy series, iCarly, and picks up where the characters are today. The news follows De Agostini Editore recently reacquiring the channel from Paramount, with plans to rebrand the channel into a family entertainment destination. The news was announced by PRS Mediagroup, the channel's ad-sales partner.

Ordered in 2020, the rebooted series picked up with adult Carly Shay (Miranda Cosgrove), 10 years older, as she reunited with her brother Spencer (Jerry Trainer) and longtime friend and cameraman Freddie (Nathan Kress), and sets out to revamp her popular web show with the help of old and new friends. Laci Mosley joined the original cast as Carly’s new friend, Harper, along with Jaidyn Triplett, who portrayed Freddie’s stepdaughter Millicent.

The series ran for 33 episodes across three seasons between June 2021 and July 2023. The reboot was produced by Nickelodeon Studios and Awesomeness and executive produced by Jay Kogen and Ali Schouten, who also wrote the pilot. Cosgrove served as executive producer, with Trainor and Alissa Vradenburg serving as producers. The series was previously released on Paramount+ Italia.

The third season of the iCarly reboot ended on a massive cliffhanger, in which fans were about to learn the identity of Carly's mother, who has remained of the series biggest mysteries. A movie to wrap up the series is planned.

Craig Bartlett Confirms That Are Currently No Talks for a 'Hey Arnold!' Revival [UPDATE]

Hey Arnold! writer and producer Joe Purdy set the record straight on whether the classic Nickelodeon show is on its way back.

Update (8/20): Unfortunately the reports are not true. Craig Bartlett himself has confirmed to X/Twitter account Hey Arnold Perfect Shots that there are currently no talks with Paramount for a Hey Arnold! revival.

However, it's not all bad news: to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Hey Arnold!, a The Music of Hey Arnold! Live tour has been announced, featuring Jim Lang, the PS 118 Players, and special appearances by Craig Bartlett!

Update (8/25): In a post on his official Instagram, Craig Bartlett commented: "Here to tell you that the stories this week about being in talks w Paramount are not true. Joe made some comments that were taken out of context. Sorry gang, but don’t worry, there’s lots of Arnold stuff to keep me busy all year!"

Gerald and Arnold from 'Hey Arnold!'
Nickelodeon

Hey Arnold! writer Joe Purdy recently addressed the possibility of a revival of the beloved animated Nickelodeon series. Created by Craig Bartlett, Hey Arnold! chronicled the everyday adventures of fourth-grader Arnold Shortman as he navigated friendship, family, and the chaos of the fictional city of Hillwood. The series premiered on Nickelodeon on October 7, 1996, and ran for five seasons and 100 episodes, along with a theatrical film, before concluding its run on June 8, 2004. In 2017, Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie delivered the long-awaited closure fans had sought for more than a decade when Arnold goes on a search for his long-missing parents.

During an interview with The Direct at MultiCon 2026, Hey Arnold! writer and producer Joe Purdy was asked if there have been recent conversations about reviving the Nickelodeon series. Purdy confirmed that discussions are "absolutely" happening amongst decision-makers at Paramount, the parent company of Nickelodeon:

"Absolutely. Yes, yes, yes. There is an ever-changing environment of the business and people who are making decisions. It's the cliche story... But be sure we are [having conversations]."

Purdy's remarks about the "ever-changing environment" of the business are tied to the major leadership changes at Paramount since Skydance Media's acquisition of the company. The $8 billion deal closed in August 2025, ending decades of Redstone family control and installing Skydance founder David Ellison as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Paramount Skydance.

When pressed further about potential storylines and aging up characters in a reboot, Purdy emphasized that any future story would keep the characters only  "a year or two older:"

"Absolutely, good question. We're asked that a lot. Would they be much older? Probably not. I think a year or two older. They're so beloved."

Asked whether the series would remain set in the '90s, Purdy said he is unsure, but he pointed out that adding "some technology" could enrich the story while teasing that they are "ready to go" with several ideas and storylines if given the chance:

"I don't know still in the.... I think it's just to add some technology, also.  It'd be a little strange, if not. So, that would definitely be a huge difference. We have many, many ideas and storylines, so we're sort of ready to go. But I don't think it would be an abrupt, 'They're in high school.'"

Hey Arnold! cast of characters
Nickelodeon

The Direct also spoke with Hey Arnold! creator Craig Bartlett about the potential of seeing a revival. Reflecting on how the series might evolve, Bartlett emphasized the enduring nostalgia for the 1990s while stressing the importance of acknowledging change:

"So, we talk about the '90s, which is really the conversation, because people are so nostalgic for the '90s, and for good reason. There's a lot going on. It was really booming. It was boom times. When we got the chance to make The Jungle Movie, that came out in 2017. So already, almost 20 years had gone by, and so the question was, 'What's happened to Arnold's neighborhood?' And we had some gentrification going on. So, I would continue that gentrification thing, and... If you think about, I always like Brooklyn as a model, because Brooklyn has been gentrified like crazy in my lifetime, and it's kind of good and bad, and I think that would be kind of the interesting story: what's good about the changes and the progress, and what's been lost?"

Bartlett then addressed what narrative opportunities a modern reboot of Hey Arnold! could explore that were less feasible during the original run, noting that the show would likely still avoid overt politics and create stories that can hold up over time:

"Yeah, we probably would still not be political... You had to be careful not to be too topical, is kind of the main point, because cartoons are supposed to be evergreen. They're supposed to be, a '90s cartoon can play perfectly well now, because we had an eye toward that. And technology keeps changing. That's the biggest change is technology. And when we made 'The Jungle Movie' in 2017, we gave Rhonda a cell phone, but all the other kids didn't have one. I think they'd all have to have smartphones now, I'm afraid. And maybe that would be one of the things we'd talk about; Attention spans getting frayed by having a little computer in your hand all day long."

Interest in expanding the Hey Arnold! universe is nothing new. In July 2022, a supposed spinoff for Hey Arnold! focusing on Helga Pataki and her dysfunctional family made headlines after pages from an old show bible surfaced online (later covered by Collider). Bartlett confirmed in an April 2023 interview on Jordan Fringe's YouTube channel that the leaked materials were genuine. The project, titled The Patakis, had been pitched around 2000 as a more mature continuation aimed at Nick at Nite or MTV, following a teenage Helga after Arnold had moved away.

Revivals are nothing new for beloved shows from earlier generations. Ben 10 had its own revival that introduced major redesigns for its aliens and a fresh continuity, while other franchises took varied approaches. This ranged from faithful continuations like Samurai Jack's Adult Swim return to full-scale reboots of hit cartoons like Rugrats in 2021 and The Powerpuff Girls in 2016. In 2019, Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling, a TV movie based on another of Nickelodeon's beloved '90s Nicktoons, bowed on Netflix, and saw Rocko, Heffer and Filburt blast back down to earth following the events of the series finale and grapple with modern life today.

More than two decades after its original run ended and nearly a decade after The Jungle Movie provided a well-earned closure, Hey Arnold! could still have a revival to expand and deeply explore the characters in a modern setting.

Joe Purdy and Craig Bartlett's comments at MultiCon 2026 paint a consistent picture of what a Hey Arnold! reboot would look like: one that keeps the core characters and tone largely intact, with only modest updates for technology and the evolving neighborhood rather than a radical reinvention.

Potential storylines could build on those ideas. Arnold and his friends might grapple with the arrival of smartphones, while the town could face challenges from new establishments such as coffee shops and art galleries. Characters like Phoebe could navigate academic pressure, while Gerald could still continue inventing elaborate urban legends with their own modern takes.

With a dedicated fanbase that has kept the series alive through petitions and reunions, and with the original talent prepared with creative ideas, a proper continuation would not only satisfy longtime viewers but also introduce a new generation to one of Nickelodeon's most empathetic and enduring stories - and smooth jazz.

It's important to note that, at the time of posting, a Hey Arnold! revival is still to be given the greenlight.

Paramount Pictures

July 30, 2026 – Paramount+ today announced it has greenlit a sequel event series to the cult-classic 90s teen comedy film, Clueless. Alicia Silverstone will reprise her role as the Beverly Hills’ it-girl Cher Horowitz and will also serve as an executive producer for the series, set to begin production in Los Angeles in 2027.

  • Picking up 30 years after the original film, beloved Beverly Hills icon Cher Horowitz has figured out a lot: She’s successful in business and has mastered motherhood—that is, until her daughter’s high school years, and Cher finds that parenting a teenager makes her feel “clueless” all over again.
  • Produced by CBS Studios, the series is written and executive produced by Josh Schwartz & Stephanie Savage (The OC, Gossip Girl, Nancy Drew) via Fake Empire, and Jordan Weiss (Freakier Friday, Dollface). Alicia Silverstone, Amy Heckerling, who wrote and directed the original film, and original film producer Robert Lawrence will also serve as executive producers.
  • Last Summer, Paramount Pictures’ Clueless celebrated its milestone 30th anniversary, during which members of the original cast and movie’s director reunited at a 35mm screening of the film at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. The film was also recently added to the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress.
  • "Clueless is coming home," said Jane Wiseman, Head of Originals for Paramount+. "Thirty-one years ago, Alicia Silverstone's Cher Horowitz captivated audiences with her signature chic style, sharp wit and relentless optimism, helping make Clueless a box office hit and instant pop culture classic. We're especially proud to be filming this much-anticipated series in Los Angeles, honoring its starring role in the original film while investing in the city’s exceptional talent and crews.”
  • The series will premiere globally and exclusively on Paramount+.
  • This announcement follows greenlights for additional Paramount+ originals including Laird starring Kenneth Branagh, Fear Not starring Anne Hathaway, 9/12 starring Jeremy Strong and Discretion starring Nicole Kidman and Elle Fanning, as well as season renewals for record-setting series like Dutton Ranch and The Madison.

'El Tigre' Creator Reveals He's In Talks to Revive Iconic Nickelodeon Series - And It May Include Characters From 'Invader ZIM' and 'Teenage Robot'

Could El Tigre be about to roar back onto our screens once more?

El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera
Credit: Nickelodeon.

El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera was one of the major standout animated series releases with Nickelodeon back in the 2000s, and the creator behind it all has revealed that we may be seeing Manny and his family once again!

About El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera:

Co-created by husband-and-wife team Jorge R. Gutierrez (The Book of Life) and Sandra Equihua (Wow! Wow! Wubbzy!) and based on Jorge's experiences growing up in Mexico City, El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera, described as a folk art-inspired animated comedy with a spaghetti western twist follows 13-year-old Manny (voiced by Alanna Ubach, Welcome to the Wayne) who must choose whether to use his superpowers as El Tigre for good or evil.

Manny is a well-meaning kid who lives with his father and grandfather in Miracle City, an urban melting pot full of colorful heroes and nefarious villains. A spin of his mystical belt buckle transforms him into the brave and powerful masked warrior, El Tigre. As El Tigre, he has to choose whether to become a great superhero, like his father, Rodolpho and his alter ego White Pantera (voiced by Eric Bauza, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja TurtlesThe Loud HouseThe Casagrandes) or a feared super-villain like his grandfather, Granpapi and his alter ego Puma Loco (voiced by Carlos Alazraqui, Rocko's Modern Life). Manny struggles with the daily choice of which super-power he will master because being good is good... but being bad is fun.

El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera premiered on Nickelodeon on March 3, 2007 and ran for 26 episodes until September 13, 2008, winning two Emmy Awards along the way. The storylines draw from the popular Latino telenovelas with exaggerated comedic situations and outrageous recurring characters.

Renewed Interest in El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera:

Although it's been nearly 20 years since the show was on-air with new episodes, El Tigre has never been far from fans hearts and minds. In 2023, Manny Rivera became a playable character in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, and just last year, the series received an official "The Art Of..." book detailing the gorgeous art featured in the show. Accompanied by interviews with Gutierrez, Equihua, and key animators and concept artists, The Art of El Tigre is the definitive archive of the award-winning cult classic cartoon.

Will El Tigre Ever Come Back?

During a recent panel at MomoCon, an anime convention based in Atlanta, Georgia, Jorge revealed that not only is he working to bring El Tigre back to our screens, but he is in active discussions with Paramount to do just that. Gutierrez even discussed the revival’s plot, which might be far darker than many fans might think.

During this weekend’s MomoCon, Gutierrez noted that while he is currently working on several projects, including new television series for Disney, a new movie for Netflix, and a Warner Bros Speedy Gonzalez movie, he is still thinking of his Nickelodeon series. As Jorge describes it, the El Tigre revival will “see a twenty-year-old version of Manny Rivera return to the present, meeting the other characters he once knew. Future Manny tells Frida that she must eliminate El Tigre’s father and grandfather, or the world will be destroyed.” While this revival is far from confirmed, the fact that Gutierrez is in active discussions to make this a reality is good news for El Tigre.

In a shocking twist, Gutierrez also confirmed that he is looking to add the lead characters from Invader Zim and My Life as a Teenage Robot (Invader ZIM and Jenny "XJ-9" Wakeman, respectively) into the mix. Both these Nickelodeon properties are wildly different from the story of the young mask-wearing protagonist, though Jorge went one step further in confirming how serious he was about the crossover. “I’m friends with Jhonen Vasquez and Rob Renzetti, creators of Zim and Teenage Robot, so I’ve already got their blessing on using them both.” While Paramount hasn’t given the project a green light, it seems as though the stars are aligning.

Gutierrez also talked about how, throughout the series, Manny was constantly struggling between being good and evil, never quite landing on a side when it came to joining either his father or his grandfather.

El Tigre In 'Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2'
Paramount

Ironically enough, a wild series of events took place in recent years to get the ball rolling on an El Tigre revival. Specifically, Gutierrez himself confirmed at Momocon that the discussions were thanks to Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 2, the video game that included his masked protagonist. Hilariously enough, El Tigre wasn’t supposed to be a part of the game’s cast, but once Jorge saw an image of his character fighting an opponent, he shared the image, believing it was real. When Nickelodeon saw the popular demand for Jorge’s character, the game producers decided to place him into the game, creating some serious groundswell for the character that hadn’t been seen in years.

If you haven’t had the chance to check out El Tigre, it’s currently available to stream on Paramount+ in its entirety. The series stars its titular protagonist as he discovers that while his father is a superhero, his grandfather is one of the world’s greatest supervillains at the same time. Stuck between good and evil, Manny has to choose which of his mentors he will follow. Fans can start streaming today at ParamountPlus.com.

The "Art of.." book The Art of El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera is available today, including on Amazon.com.

Keke Palmer Reveals Whether She'd Ever Do a 'True Jackson, VP' Revival

Palmer played the titular character on Nickelodeon's True Jackson, VP from 2008 to 2011

Keke Palmer is opening up about whether she'd like to revisit one of her earliest roles: True Jackson.

Palmer, 32, played the titular character on Nickelodeon's True Jackson, VP from 2008 to 2011. In the show, Palmer played a savvy teenager hired to serve as the vice president of Youth Apparel at a fictional fashion company called "Mad Style."

The actor spoke to Parade for a recent interview that touched on another Disney Channel star, Miley Cyrus, who recently revisited her own childhood character in the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special.

Cast of 'True Jackson, VP'

Asked if Palmer would like to revisit True, the actor responded, "Oh yeah. I'm one of those people that started acting as a kid that really still loves my kid work. Not everything I can revisit because maybe there's not a story there—but in terms of looking back, I have no shame."

Elsewhere in the interview, Palmer speculated on what the character would be up to in 2026, saying True is now "probably the head of Mad Style."

"She is curating spaces, and she's being just the boss like she really became," Palmer added. "She understands what she gave up in her years of being focused as a career woman and building this legacy for herself, so she's now dealing with having to go back and understand the spaces in which she was not cultivating—whether that's love or friendships or just things that started to run when you're out there chasing your dream and being ambitious. She's going to revisit that part of herself that she kept deferring."

Palmer currently stars in the film, I Love Boosters, which she said in another recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter reminded her of her turn as True.

But there was one big difference — that the villain in I Love Boosters, played by Demi Moore, is worlds different than the character of Max Madigan (the CEO of Mad Style, played by Greg Proops) in True Jackson.

“The whole [Moore's character] Christie Smith, she was not a nice Max Madigan OK, she was not!” Palmer told THR.
