Nick Jr. UK & Ireland will premiere Circle Square, an all-new animated comedy preschool series, on Monday 16th February 2026, launching with two episodes, airing at 3:30pm and 3:45pm, respectively. Featuring Vanessa the dragon and a captivating cast of her neighbours, Circle Square celebrates different personalities coming together as one caring community. Following launch, Nick Jr. & Eire will continue to air two new episodes daily at 3:30pm and 3:45pm.
Created by BAFTA winning writing / directing partnership The Brothers McLeod, Circle Square is an animated comedy for children aged 4-6 about a community of nine houses, each home to a character or family. Vanessa the Dragon, owner of the rainbow lighthouse, helps out with everyday dilemmas and each episode features a different friend in need of her help (and sometimes she needs theirs!)
The households in the community include a yeti, a family of emergency service owls, a keyboard and a drum, a family of wizards, a grumpy dog, an elderly adventuring bear and a couple of walking, talking pine trees. Their companionship also extends to neighbouring islands in the archipelago of the Wyndley Isles, and to friends and family who come to visit them.
At its heart, the series is about a community of friends and neighbours depicting charming stories that emotionally reflect the everyday experience of children and families. Circle Square is a reflection of society, seen through the imagination of a child.
The series features the voices of Katy Brand, Kathryn Drysdale, Duaa Karmin and Shash Hira.
Commissioned by 5's Milkshake!, Circle Square (40 x 7’) is a coproduction with Wyndley Animation and Kavaleer Productions and is directed by Greg McLeod, written by Myles McLeod and executive produced by Erica Darby, Helen Brunsdon, Gary Timpson, and Andrew Kavanagh. The series was financed with support from the BFI Young Audiences Content Fund, Milkshake! Channel 5 and Creative Europe - MEDIA Programme of the European Union. The series was produced with the support of the incentives for the Irish Film Industry provided by the Government of Ireland. 9 Story Media Group represents worldwide distribution rights. The series made its debut on Milkshake! on 5 in July 2021, and has since picked up the award for Best Animated Preschool Series at the Irish Animation Awards and has been nominated for Best Children's Pre-School Series at the British Animation Awards.
