For anyone who grew up on early 2000s Nickelodeon, this is one of those streaming updates that hits a little harder than expected. Zoey 101 is officially set to leave Netflix this June, and that means fans are running out of time to revisit one of Nickelodeon's most iconic teen sitcoms of its era.
The departure is part of Netflix’s ongoing rotation of licensed titles, where shows and movies come and go as streaming rights expire. While that’s nothing new for subscribers, it still stings when a nostalgic favorite departs, especially one as culturally embedded in 2000s pop TV history as Zoey 101.
So, what is the exact Netflix departure date? Sadly, fans will have to bid farewell to Zoey 101 on the platform on Sunday, June 21, 2026. That's when the first two seasons will leave Netflix, and the streaming giant recently confirmed this bad news in a new press release. What this means is that the last day to watch the teen series on the platform is Saturday, June 20. That's something to keep in mind!
Although Zoey 101 consists of four seasons, Netflix never actually carried the complete series in its entirety. The first two seasons were added to the platform back in June 2022, and fans were hoping that the last two installments would eventually make their way to the platform as well. However, that never happened, leaving viewers with only a partial look at the series’ full run at Pacific Coast Academy (PCA).
With Zoey 101 seasons 1 and 2 leaving Netflix this June, it's strongly doubtful that the streamer is about to license the remaining seasons at this point. That said, fans will have to continue to look elsewhere if they want to experience the full story of Zoey 101 from start to finish. Of course, the best option is to watch it on Paramount+. That's where all four seasons of Zoey 101, along with the recent revival movie, Zoey 102, are currently streaming. The series is also available to stream for free, including as a boxset, on Pluto TV.
There's also the option to purchase individual episodes or entire seasons through digital platforms. But ultimately, it's up to you!
Originally created by Dan Schneider, Zoey 101 premiered in 2005 and quickly became one of Nickelodeon's most popular live-action series. It followed Zoey Brooks (Jamie Lynn Spears) as she attends Pacific Coast Academy (PCA), a fictional boarding school in Southern California.
Unlike most teen sitcoms of its time, Zoey 101 stood out for its unique setting. The show was set on a picturesque coastal campus that made it feel almost like a teenage fantasy. This iconic setting also helped make PCA feel like a place viewers genuinely wished they could attend!
Even years after its original run ended in 2008, Zoey 101 has maintained a strong nostalgic following. A big part of that comes from its relatable coming-of-age themes. For four seasons, viewers watched Zoey and her friends juggle everything from crushes and jealousy to personal growth and shifting friendships. You know, the kind of experiences that remain universal for viewers watching it today.
The show also introduced a memorable ensemble cast of characters that fans still talk about, like Zoey, Chase, Dustin, Michael, Quinn, Logan, Nicole, etc. Besides Spears, the Zoey 101 cast included Paul Butcher, Sean Flynn, Kristin Herrera, Christopher Massey, Alexa Nikolas, Erin Sanders, Matthew Underwood, Victoria Justice, Austin Butler, and others.
In August 2023, Paramount+ debuted the Original movie Zoey 102, in which the Pacific Coast Academy alumni return to Malibu for an over-the-top wedding that turns into a high school reunion for the books.
It's going to be a sad day when Zoey 101 finally departs Netflix. However, at least we know it'll still be available to stream elsewhere!
