A fan has designed a cool Funko Pop! toy with SpongeBob's Squidward Tentacles dressed as a Squid Game guard wearing the iconic bright pink suit.
A hilarious fan-made Funko Pop! design imagines Squidward Tentacles as part of the
Squid Game cast. The cartoon character, who is actually an octopus, is from Nickelodeon's beloved animated series
SpongeBob SquarePants. Squidward's name comically associates him with Netflix's South Korean series that's currently making waves among U.S. audiences and many other countries.
Squid Game is a survival drama created by Korean director Hwang Dong-hyuk and stars Lee Jung-jae, Park Hae-soo, Wi Ha-joon, Jung Ho-yeon, and O Yeong-su. The story starts when 456 people, all of whom are deeply in debt, are invited to play a series of simple street games. Whoever emerges as the winner gets the ₩45.6 billion cash prize (approximately $38 million), but those who fail each game face immediate execution. Despite the series' gore and disturbingly violent scenes, critics and viewers praised it for its plot and socially relevant themes. Since premiering on Netflix on Sept. 17, Squid Game quickly rose to the streaming platform's top charts and is now poised to be its biggest show to date.

With the Korean drama's overnight success, it's no wonder that fans are quick to jump on the Squid Game bandwagon. Its popularity has even spilled into other crossovers between video games such as Mario Party, Animal Crossing and Among Us.
