In Nickelodeon's first look at the Henry Danger The Movie, for which Norman serves as executive producer along with Menendez, Nowak and Farrow, the teaser trailer opens with shattered glass flying about as flashbacks from the beloved Nickelodeon series flash all around.
A now grown-up Kid Danger emerges from behind the glass, noting that he's "not a sidekick anymore" to Captain Man. "I'm a hero," the character says in a voiceover, as he stands stoically in his superhero attire.
Now speaking aloud, Kid Danger (a.k.a, Henry Hart) then says: "It's time to face my destiny."
From there, Henry's best friend Jasper (Fox) appears alongside him to hilariously remark on his changed appearance. "It's time for my face to have a mustache," he says, noting that he is not Jasper but "Captain Stache." Jasper even requests that his pal "get my name right" before Henry gives him a look and uses his fist to push him away.
The teaser also provides glimpses of the action-packed moments to come, with a voiceover noting that "it's Danger like you've never seen before."
Among those excited for the new film is one of the show's original stars, Frankie Grande.
"Bringing Frankini back has been an absolute dream come true! I am beyond excited for everyone to see him in all his glory—dancing, singing, but also, revealing a much darker side of Frankini that hasn’t been seen before," he told PEOPLE.
"This project has been one of the most thrilling experiences of my career, and I can’t wait for the world to experience the chaos, the charm, and the unexpected twists," Grande concluded. "It’s truly a wild ride, and I’m so proud to finally share it with everyone!"
"I can remember my childhood and how much those shows resonated with me when I was a kid, so the fact that I'll be a part of so many kid's childhood memories blows my mind," he shared. "That's the most rewarding part of it."
Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is an all-new original 2D animated series. All 12 episodes of the premiere season of Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles originally made their debut on Friday, August 9 on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada, and on Saturday, August 10 in the U.K. and Australia. The series also airs on Nickelodeon channels internationally.
From the universe of the Mutant Mayhem film, the all-new Paramount+ original series Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles explores the adventures of everyone's favorite pizza-loving heroes as they emerge from the sewers onto the streets of NYC. Leo, Raph, Donnie and Mikey are faced with new threats and team up with old allies to survive both teenage life and villains lurking in the shadows of the Big Apple.
The series serves to bridge the time between the critically-acclaimed feature film Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles:Mutant Mayhem, released in 2023, and its upcoming sequel, currently slated to be released in theaters on October 9, 2026. A second season of Tales of the TMNT is also in the pipeline, set to be released in 2025.
Reprising their roles from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem are Micah Abbey (Cousins for Life) as Donatello, Shamon Brown Jr. (The Chi) as Michelangelo, Nicolas Cantu (The Walking Dead: World Beyond) as Leonardo, Brady Noon (Family Switch) as Raphael and Ayo Edebiri (The Bear) as April O'Neil.
Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles guest stars include Pete Davidson (Saturday Night Live) as Rod, a lazy rich kid who loves Mutants so much, he'll do everything in his power to become one, and Alanna Ubach (Ted) as Bishop, a brilliant inventor who believes mutants are the greatest danger to humanity and that all of them, including the Turtles, must be eliminated. Additional guest stars include: Rose Byrne as Leatherhead; Natasia Demetriou as Wingnut; Post Malone as Ray Fillet; Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Pigeon Pete; Timothy Olyphant as Goldfin; Jillian Bell as Lee the Eel; and Danny Trejo as Mustang Sally.
The series is produced by Nickelodeon Animation and Point Grey Pictures, who brought audiences last summer's smash-hit Paramount Pictures film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.
Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is executive produced by Chris Yost (The Mandalorian, Thor: Ragnarok) and Alan Wan (Blue Eye Samurai, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles [2012 Series]). Production is overseen for Nickelodeon by Claudia Spinelli, Senior Vice President, TV Series Animation, Nickelodeon, and Nikki Price, Director of Development and Executive in Charge of Production.
Netflix licensing the rights to Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles shouldn’t come as a huge surprise given that streamer has several other TMNT titles (mainly in the United States) already. It was the exclusive home for the 2022 Nickelodeon feature-length movie Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie globally, the movie sister series, Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, has 26 episodes streaming in addition to two seasons of the 2012 series, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
What is a surprise, however, is how soon after it airing on Paramount+ the series is now bound for Netflix for a limited time beginning on New Year’s Day, seemingly skipping an airing on Nickelodeon.
Similarly, Nickelodeon has also acquired the rights to a couple of titles which first ran on Netflix: The Creature Cases and Sonic Prime. Nickelodeon has also aired new episodes of Gabby's Dollhouse throughout the year.
