Paramount has announced the lineup of movies, TV shows, and live sports coming to Paramount+ in August! The Paramount Plus August 2025 schedule includes the streaming premieres of The Friend and The Infernal Machine, as well as the PAW Patrol: Jungle Pups special.
Fans can also catch a powerhouse lineup of elite women’s sports, including the WNBA, NWSL, and every moment of the Women’s Rugby World Cup. European soccer also takes center stage with the UEFA Super Cup and start of the Serie A and English Football League seasons.

Premiering August 1 on the Paramount+ Premium plan is the Guy Pearce thriller The Infernal Machine. A reclusive and controversial author is drawn out of hiding when he begins to receive endless letters from an obsessive fan. What ensues is a dangerous labyrinth as he searches for the person behind the cryptic messages.
Based on the bestselling novel, The Friend tells the story of writer and teacher Iris (Naomi Watts) who finds her comfortable, solitary New York life thrown into disarray after her closest friend and mentor (Bill Murray) bequeaths her his beloved 150 lb. Great Dane, named Apollo. As Iris finds herself unexpectedly bonding with Apollo, she begins to come to terms with her past and her own creative inner life.

As summer winds down, ease into back-to-school season with some all-time favorites on Paramount+, including Adventureland, Coming to America, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, Love and Monsters, Rat Race, The Little Rascals, Wayne’s World, and more.
CBS Sports’ coverage of the WNBA continues with three games streaming live on Paramount+ in August, including Chicago Sky at Indiana Fever on August 9, defending champions New York Liberty at Minnesota Lynx on August 16, and New York at Atlanta Dream on August 23. Paramount+ will also be home to sixteen NWSL matches in August, highlighted by the top two clubs in the standings when the Kansas City Current face Orlando Pride on August 16.

Meanwhile, Paramount+ will be the exclusive U.S. home to the Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025, with every match streaming live on the service. The USA Eagles, featuring star player Ilona Maher, will face host nation England on August 22 to kick off the tournament before facing Australia on August 30.
Other live sports on Paramount+ in August will feature the start of the European soccer season, including the UEFA Super Cup when PSG takes on Tottenham Hotspur on August 13, the start of the Serie A season on August 23, and the start of the English Football League Championship season when newly promoted Wrexham faces Southampton on August 9.
