BET UNVEILS "GET YOUR MIND RIGHT," A MULTI-PLATFORM MENTAL HEALTH INITIATIVE DESIGNED TO INFORM, INSPIRE, AND CONNECT BLACK COMMUNITIES
The Year-Round Initiative Invites Communities to Nominate the People and Places Creating Hope, Healing, and Black Joy
BET
NEW YORK, NY – August 20, 2026 – BET today announced “Get Your Mind Right,” a new year-round mental health initiative designed to normalize conversations around mental wellness, connect Black communities to culturally relevant resources, and inspire meaningful action through the power of storytelling, community engagement, and culture.
Rooted in BET's longstanding commitment to uplifting and serving Black audiences, Get Your Mind Right reflects the urgency of advancing conversations around mental wellness while encouraging communities to seek support and connecting audiences to culturally relevant support.
As part of the initiative, BET today launched a national call for nominations inviting audiences to help identify and celebrate the voices and spaces creating hope, healing, and Black joy across the Black community. From therapists and creators to educators, athletes, faith leaders, community organizations, bookstores, wellness spaces, and other trusted places of belonging, nominated individuals and organizations will have the opportunity to be featured across BET's platforms as part of the ongoing Black Joy Is Healing Spotlight series.
"Mental health is one of the most urgent and under-addressed issues impacting the Black community today, and we have a responsibility to help change that," said Louis Carr, President of BET. "For more than four decades, BET has earned the trust of our audiences by reflecting the realities of Black life and celebrating the richness of Black culture. That responsibility extends beyond entertainment. Through Get Your Mind Right, we're creating space for honest conversations, connecting our communities to trusted support and resources, and reminding people that seeking help is a sign of strength."
“Get Your Mind Right reflects BET’s commitment to culture, community and connection and our belief that stronger minds build stronger communities,” said Tiyale Hayes, EVP, Marketing, Audience Development and Social Impact at BET. “By elevating trusted voices and expanding access to resources, we’re helping move mental health from honest conversations to action, reinforcing BET’s promise to be Something You Can Believe In.”
The initiative began during May for Mental Health Awareness Month with We Got You, Mom, a multi-city activation honoring 15 mothers through moments of care, restoration, and financial support.
BET also brought Get Your Mind Right to Culture's Biggest Night during BET Awards 2026. During the broadcast, comedian and host Druski introduced the initiative by speaking to the importance of mental health before cueing a powerful two-minute campaign spot featuring spoken word by acclaimed poet and activist Aja Monet. Blending evocative visuals with Aja's moving narration, the spot encouraged audiences to prioritize their mental well-being while reinforcing BET's commitment to reducing stigma.
As a strategic partner of Get Your Mind Right, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) will help extend the initiative's impact by providing trusted mental health resources, educational tools, and advocacy that empower individuals and families to prioritize their mental well-being. Together, BET and NAMI will work to reduce stigma, expand access to trusted support, and connect more individuals and families with culturally relevant mental health resources.
Looking ahead, Get Your Mind Right will continue to grow through original storytelling, community activations, strategic partnerships, and culturally relevant experiences designed to reduce stigma, expand awareness, and celebrate healing across the Black community.
Inspired by the belief that joy itself can be a pathway to healing, BET invites audiences nationwide to nominate the people and spaces making a meaningful difference in their communities. To nominate someone making a difference, visit here. Help us discover the voices and spaces spreading hope, healing, and Black joy by submitting a nomination and joining the conversation using #BETGetYourMindRight.

The PAW Patrol is taking on a rescue mission unlike any they have encountered before in PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, playing now exclusively in theaters. In the film, the PAW Patrol land on a mysterious dinosaur island after a storm where they meet Rex, a stranded pup. When Humdinger's reckless mining triggers a volcano, the team must band together to save the island, kicking off their biggest rescue mission yet.

But beyond dinosaurs, adventure, and big-screen action, the film also opens the door to another kind of mission: helping kids recognize their own ability to be brave, persevere, and make a difference. At the heart of the story is a message especially meaningful for families with kids ages 2-9 years old: even when a challenge feels enormous, you can keep going.
Inspired by Marshall’s storyline, Paramount and Nickelodeon extended that message beyond the screen through a social impact campaign designed to give families resources to help kids build confidence and resilience.
A Dino-Sized Adventure with a Lasting Message
The campaign builds on Nickelodeon’s existing Our World initiative, which launched in 2023 as a global initiative to inspire kids and provide them with tools to make a positive change in their communities and beyond. Together with Afterschool Alliance, Ashoka, Association of Children’s Museums, Boys and Girls Clubs of America Inc., Jack and Jill of America, Team Impact, and UNICEF USA, the partner organizations reach more than 20 million kids and families. With PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie, that mission comes to life through resources families can use to help a child navigate a challenge, recognize their strengths or take positive action. Custom print materials, digital content, and an online resource hub page, encourage families to access these practical tools designed to turn the movie’s themes into everyday moments of empowerment.
Conversation Starters offer sample questions parents can ask after the movie to spark empowering dialogue with their kids.
A Dino-Sized Mission Kit provides parents with interactive activities that help kids build skills like imagination, resilience, and teamwork while having fun with their friends and family.
A PAW Patrol-themed set of Dino-Mite Tips to Build Confidence and encourage kids to find their roar.
Together, the resources center on a simple idea: the lessons kids saw their favorite pups put into action on screen can become tools for navigating their own world.

Bringing the Mission into Communities
The campaign also created opportunities for families to experience those messages together in the real world. Through a partnership with the Association of Children’s Museums, PAW Patrol costume characters visited children’s museums in Dallas, LA, Miami, NYC and Salt Lake City, and offered families movie-themed takeaway materials featuring Our World resources focused on kids empowerment. Children’s museums across the country are invited to further activate using the Dino-Sized Mission Kit to engage kids and families on Worldwide Day of Play powered by Nickelodeon Our World on September 26, 2026.

Families got into the prehistoric spirit with the EGG-cellent dino photo opp at the LA Premiere of the film and Family Day screening. Kids struck a "hero pose" with empowerment props featuring messages including "I can make a difference," "I never give up," and "My voice matters," and received printed resource cards with valuable tips from the Our World campaign. This playful activation, inspired by the movie's dino-sized adventure, gave families another memorable way to engage with the world of PAW Patrol.
Families were also given Our World resource cards and invited to check out the campaign at family day screenings taking place in 29 cities across the country the weekend before release.

These experiences met kids where they were through characters they love, imaginative play and memorable moments shared with their families.
Saving a dinosaur island may have been a job for the PAW Patrol. But being brave, trying again after a setback, speaking up and helping your community? Those are missions every kid can take on.
Jantje Beton Buitenspeeldag 2026 | Jantje Beton

NEW YORK, NY – May 6th, 2026 – Rising producer and multi-instrumentalist Miles Bonham, known as Miles Music Kid, recently visited two elementary schools in the Bronx in partnership with non-profit Education Through Music. During the visit, he donated 1,000 ukuleles and three DJ decks, provided by The Guitar Center Music Foundation, to help expand access to music education for New York City students. Watch a video of Miles’ school visit HERE.
“I’m so lucky that I have instruments around my house, and I could just play them whenever I want. But some people don’t have that even though they love music just as much as I do. I’m really happy knowing that we are giving these kids all of this musical gear so they can have something to go to whenever they feel like they want to express themselves through music,” said Miles Bonham.
During the visit, Miles spent time with students, as he performed a song on the guitar for them and produced a song using their voices and different sounds in the classroom. The donation of ukuleles and DJ equipment introduces foundational tools and gives students new ways to explore creativity and self-expression.

Education Through Music is committed to making sure every child has access to music as part of their education, and moments like this truly bring that mission to life.”

“Experiences like this show just how powerful music education can be in a child’s life,” said Dr. Janice Weinman, CEO of Education Through Music. “When students are given the opportunity to create, perform, and connect through music, it not only sparks joy but also builds confidence, collaboration, and a sense of belonging. We are incredibly grateful to Miles, Republic Records, and the Guitar Center Music Foundation for helping us expand access to these transformative experiences for our partner school students.”

Miles’ visit supports Education Through Music’s mission to provide equitable access to high-quality music education for under-resourced schools across New York City. The organization partners with schools to build sustainable, in-school music programs, reaching thousands of students each year through music instruction, teacher training, and access to instruments. His visit highlights the impact of artist-led initiatives and the importance of partners like The Guitar Center Music Foundation in helping provide the tools and access needed to inspire the next generation of musicians.
