‘Crutch’ Canceled After One Season at Paramount+

The Paramount+ multi-cam comedy Crutch has been canceled after just one season, Variety has learned.

The series, which starred Tracy Morgan in the title role, originally debuted on Paramount+ back in November 2025.

News of the series ending comes as little surprise, as it failed to find a significant audience upon its debut and considering Morgan’s commitment to other projects. Most notably, Morgan now stars in the NBC comedy The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins. That show debuted on NBC in January 2026 and was renewed for a second season in May. In addition, cast options expired some time ago with many moving on to other projects.

With the cancellation, Paramount+ loses one of the few live-action comedies on its current slate. The streamer is instead focused on its dramas like Taylor Sheridan’s Landman and Yellowstone spinoff Dutton Ranch as well as the British crime drama MobLand among others.

Crutch follows its titular character Francois “Frank” Crutchfield (Morgan), who goes by “Crutch,” who is described as “a brash, yet beloved Harlem shop owner who finds his world turned upside down when his highbrow son and free-spirited daughter move back into the Crutchfield family home.”

The series was set in the world of The Neighborhood, one of CBS’ original comedy series, with Morgan appearing in a crossover episode of that show the same day that Crutch debuted on Paramount+.

Additional cast members for “Crutch” included Jermaine Fowler, Kecia Lewis, Adrianna Mitchell, Adrian Martinez, Braxton Paul, and Finn Maloney.

Crutch hailed from Cedric The Entertainer and his production company, A Bird and a Bear Entertainment. The series is executive produced by Cedric The Entertainer and Eric C. Rhone and created by Owen Smith who served as executive producer and showrunner. Executive producers for Crutch included Aaron Kaplan for Kapital Entertainment, Wendi Trilling for TrillTV, Mike Mariano and, Morgan. The series was produced by CBS Studios and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution outside of Paramount+ markets.

Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, Yellowjackets is the saga of a team of wildly talented high school girls soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness. Equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story and coming-of-age drama, the series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never really past and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.

Season four stars Emmy nominee Melanie Lynskey, Emmy nominee Christina Ricci, Tawny Cypress, Sophie Nélisse, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Sophie Thatcher, Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton, Liv Hewson, Warren Kole, Kevin Alves, Sarah Desjardins, Nia Sondaya, Jenna Burgess, and two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank. Guest starring are June Squibb, Elijah Wood, Molly Ringwald, Devon Sawa, Sam Braun, Dulé Hill and more.

‘Lil Kev’ Season 2 to Premiere December 9 on Paramount+

The culture, characters and community chaos in Philadelphia continue! Inspired by Kevin Hart’s childhood in the 1990s, all 10 episodes of the adult animated comedy series Lil Kev Season 2 will premiere Wednesday, December 9, exclusively on Paramount+.

Lil Kev | Paramount+

Set in 1993 North Philadelphia, Lil Kev follows 12-year-old Kev as his enormous ambition and wild imagination fuel one scheme after another. Raised by his fiercely protective mother Nancy, he navigates the chaos created by his recovering father Henry, cynical older brother Robert, and ex-con uncle Richard Jr. Through schoolyard rivalries, neighborhood hustles, and family setbacks, Kev turns every disaster into a story.

Lil Kev | Paramount+

In Season 2, the normally unflappable Kev deals with the consequences of one moment of lashing out at the system — a rash act that lands him in the juvenile justice system and plunges him into an adult world he’s not ready to deal with.

Matthew Claybrooks and Michael Price serve as both executive producers and showrunners. Eric Goldberg and Peter Tibbals also serve as executive producers.
