First Ever Nickelodeon Slime Cup In The Philippines A Slime-Tastic Success

Original Nickelodeon Asia Press Release:

THE FIRST NICKELODEON SLIME CUP A HIT IN THE PHILIPPINES WITH OVER 4,000 ATTENDEES WITH THEIR GAME FACES ON

3,500 liters of Slime produced for the Slimiest integrated sports festival in the Philippines

Promoted inclusivity through sports with Special Olympics Philippines

Nickelodeon Slime Cup

PHILIPPINES, 30 MAY 2018 – The first Nickelodeon Slime Cup in the Philippines was a success, attracting over 4,000 kids and their families on 26 May. About 3,500 liters of Slime were produced for the Slimiest integrated sports festival, with Slime the main ingredient to a number of the sports-oriented activities set up for kids and their families to have fun. The event served to reinforce Nickelodeon’s long-standing commitment in encouraging kids and their families to have fun while keeping a healthy lifestyle.

Slimestacle Course

Held at the SM Mall of Asia’s concert grounds and with Sky Cable as affiliate partner, the event allowed attendees to get up close and personal with the green Slime that is Nickelodeon’s badge of honor. Kids showed that they were game to play by taking part in slimy obstacles, engaging in stage games, or posing with beloved Nickelodeon characters in photo-taking sessions.

Bikini Bottom Raceway

“This is the very essence of what the Nickelodeon Slime Cup is about – Slime fun time for kids and families! It sums up the playful, surprising, cheeky and spirited nature of Nickelodeon… and of being a kid. We’re all about creating surprising and playful entertainment experiences everywhere we go, with the added benefit of promoting a healthy lifestyle at the biggest and Slimiest integrated sports festival in the Philippines,” said Dinna Zaratan, Country Manager, Philippines, Viacom International Media Networks.

Finish Slime

Other highlights of the family-friendly day at the Nickelodeon Slime Cup PH 2018:

- Kids showed off their sporting spirit and had the time of their lives at five Game Modules which took inspiration from Nickelodeon’s shows such as SpongeBob SquarePants, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Fairly OddParents, while celebrating Nickelodeon’s trademark Slime.

- A Slime Salon where kids could refill their Slime blasters and have more fun while going through the Slime modules.

- Snagging a pass for the Photo-taking Sessions, to share the stage with well-loved Nickelodeon characters like SpongeBob SquarePants, Patrick Star, and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

- And wrapping up a Slime-drenched day was the Finish Slime – where kids could get Slimed the awesome Nickelodeon way!

Lincoln’s Slimy Situation

In addition, Nickelodeon Philippines partnered with the Special Olympics Philippines by inviting the children of the organization to participate in Slime Cup. This partnership aligns with Nickelodeon’s international initiative, Together For Good, to empower kids to make positive changes in the world around them. Through the silliest and Slimiest challenges, the kids engaged in Unified Sports to bring about camaraderie through play. The Special Olympics movement promotes Unified Sports, where people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities are brought together to learn sports, compete, and be friends on and off the playing field.

Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand's 'SLIME CUP' Returns For Season Three, Announcing QICGRE Partnership and New Audition Locations

Update (5/4): Added Nickelodeon SLIME CUP season three audition locations and Nickelodeon Craft Village events at the Hyperdome Shopping Centre in QLD, Westpoint Shopping Centre in NSW, and the Watergardens Shopping Centre in VIC!

Nickelodeon Slimes OMD Execs To Celebrate Launch Of 'SLIME CUP' Season 3

To celebrate the announcement of SLIME CUP’s third season, Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand visited global media agency OMD's Australian offices on Friday 16th March 2018 to present what’s in store for the next season!

While they were there, they bestowed the ultimate honour of slime on Yvette Mayer, Managing Director (MD) of OMD Sydney; and Daniel Tray, screen trading manager (pictured above).

Over the next week, Nickelodeon will visit UM, Wavemaker, MCN, Ikon, DenstuX, and Carat to perform a sliming on whoever the organisation deems fit, so now’s the time for that revenge on your boss!

Nickelodeon has perfected its top-secret slime recipe, BTW, resulting in a perfect, sticky slime.

However, sliming is the ultimate honour from Nickelodeon, only bestowed upon an elite few including superstar celebrities at Nickelodeon's Kids’ Choice Awards, held every year in March. And this time, it’s performing it in honour of returning series SLIME CUP.

Returning for its third year, Nickelodeon Australia and New Zealand’s locally-produced series will be heading to more audition locations than ever before after announcing a new strategic partnership with QICGRE.

In partnership with QICGRE, Nickelodeon will bring SLIME CUP live auditions to brand new locations in three states across Australia for the first time: Watergardens Town Centre in Victoria, Hyperdome in Queensland and Westpoint in New South Wales. The search for TV stars begins on Saturday 7th April 2018.

During the live audition periods, Nickelodeon will be taking over these three centres with two weeks of holiday activities for the whole family including craft villages, character meet-and-greets and holiday activities for all.

Ben Cox, General Manager (GM) and Vice President (VP) of Nickelodeon for Australia and New Zealand, said kids who had previously come a long way for SLIME CUP will now have somewhere closer to home for live auditions.

“Over the past two years we’ve had thousands of kids from across Australia and New Zealand audition for the series, so this year we’re putting our cameras on the ground in brand new locations,” he said.

“Our partnership with QICGRE allows us to reach more families in even more locations than ever before; not only for the SLIME CUP auditions, but also during the two weeks of family entertainment surrounding these times.”

Premiering on Friday 29th June 2018 at 5.30pm (AEDT), the six-episode series will have a new format: 12 talented teams of two will face off against each other in challenging heats before the top three teams meet in the finals.

The 12 teams will be selected from the live auditions as well as from online video auditions.

Kids aged nine to 13 from across Australia and New Zealand will be able to audition for the series, either at one of the live audition locations or by uploading a video audition via the website, slimecup.com.au.

How Nickelodeon Australia & New Zealand Stays #1 | Nickelodeon Upfront 2018

Multi Channel Network (MCN), Australia's most progressive media advertising company, recently chatted to Vanessa Winley, the director of Ad Sales and Brand Partnerships at Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Australia & New Zealand, on the success of Nickelodeon in 2017, and what's in store for 2018 - including a third season of Nickelodeon Slime Cup!

What have been the stand out successes on Nickelodeon for 2017?

Fuelled by local productions, tent pole events and world-leading pre-school properties, Nickelodeon Networks wrapped its financial year (October 2016 – September 2017) retaining the #1 position among children 0-12 for the second year in a row – which is a great result!

A few of the biggest successes for us include the second season of Nickelodeon’s locally produced series SLIME CUP, which had an average audience increase of 36% from 2016, among the target demographic of children 5-12.

Another stand out was our first ever Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Sports Awards for Australia and New Zealand, simulcast on Nickelodeon and FOX SPORTS and ranking number one in its time slot for children 5-12. This project was particularly exciting because it was a six-week immersive entertainment experience across all screens, with local content featuring superstar athletes being distributed via the Nick Play app, online at nick.com.au, and on television, allowing kids to catch behind-the-scenes footage and stunts with their favourite sporting stars.

Lastly, the Nick Jr. PAW Patrol Honorary Pup Squad is a great example of how we engaged existing audiences with exclusive stunts, competitions and content across the network. The eight week multi-platform stunt was tailored to suit a client’s needs, while leveraging this powerhouse franchise. The PAW Patrol page and its competition page were the top two pages on the website across the period, showing strong demand for multiplatform campaigns.

What’s coming in 2018 across broadcast and digital?

We’re excited that a lot of our key tent poles and local productions will be returning for 2018. We’ll kick off the year with Crash the Bash, Kids’ Choice Awards express from the US in March and SLIME CUP on-ground auditions will follow before a premiere in June.

We’re also expanding our local short form content with the launch of Nickelodeon digital content verticals. We’ll be bolstering Nick Sports making it the go-to location for kids who want entertaining sporting content or games. We’ll also focus on new digital offerings, the exploration of augmented reality and new technologies, that will help create impactful online experiences.

Our mission is to continue to create the most talked about experiences of all time, so we will continue immersive on-ground activations surrounding our powerhouse content. From cinema activations, to publicity stunts and live events, this is will be a key focus for marketing efforts in the coming year.

Tell us a bit more about Crash the Bash?

Based upon a long history of connecting kids with the sports they love, Nickelodeon is creating more partnership opportunities with content production, promotions, prizing and activations on and off the field. We know sport is a passion point for Aussie kids and a great chance for brands to engage with thousands of people. We confirmed a second year of our partnership with Cricket Australia and the Big Bash League and in addition to ramping up our on-the-ground activations at matches across the country, we’ll also be doing a second season of the BBL and WBBL children’s television show aptly named Crash The Bash.

Crash the Bash premieres on Nickelodeon just before Christmas and runs all the way through January. There are lots of sponsorship opportunities with the program and other Nickelodeon summer programming.

For partnership opportunities with Nickelodeon please contact your MCN representative on 02 9209 6300.
