Cast Announced for PAW Patrol Live!: 'Race to the Rescue' 10 Year Anniversary Tour of Australia

The heroic pups of Adventure Bay are getting ready to race across Australia this winter! Nickelodeon, VStar Entertainment Group and TEG Life Like Touring are proud to announce an all-Australian cast for the 10th-anniversary tour of the iconic live show PAW Patrol Live! “Race to the Rescue”.

PAW Patrol Live! 'Race to the Rescue'

Marking ten years of this spectacular Broadway-style show, the global stage sensation will take over major arenas across Hobart, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne for strictly limited seasons from Saturday 25 July – Sunday 23 August 2026. Family passes are flying faster than Skye can say “let’s take to the sky!” via pawpatrollive.com.au.

Taking the lead as Adventure Bay’s tech-savvy human leader, Ryder, is Green Room Award winner Nicholas Dugdale (TARZAN! The Stage Musical, hit Netflix series The InBESTigators). South East Queensland’s Trent Sinclair (Neighbours, PAW Patrol Live! “Race to the Rescue” 2024 Tour) is stepping into the spotlight to tackle the dual roles of police pup Chase and the adventurous snowboarder Jake. A Queensland Conservatorium alumni originally from the Gold Coast, Trent is absolutely delighted to be performing for his home-state fans.

PAW Patrol Live! 'Race to the Rescue'

Experienced TV and stage actor Kristie Nguy (Scrublands, Miss Sultanah, MTC’s The Robot Dog) performs both Everest and Farmer Yumi. Hanna Harvey (Plied and Prejudice, feature film Saccharine) plays the beloved, green-clad recycling pup Rocky, while Zayneb Zerzouri (The Lord of the Rings – A Musical, PAW Patrol Live!) stars as the fun-loving, water-rescue dog Zuma.

Fan-favourite construction pup Rubble will be performed by Matthew Mitchell (PAW Patrol Live! Australia and Indonesia tours, Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines), with Callum Smith (The Wedding Singer, Sister Act – The Musical) as Marshall and Captain Turbot and Jess Phillippi (PAW Patrol Live! Australia and UK tours) as Skye and Resident Choreographer. Gabrielle Ward (Mary Poppins, Gabby’s Dollhouse Live!) returns to the production as the female onstage Swing.

PAW Patrol Live! 'Race to the Rescue'

The production also showcases stellar Tasmanian talent, with Dean Schulz (Midnight – The Cinderella Musical, Gabby’s Dollhouse Live!) taking the reins as the show’s Resident Director and the male onstage Swing. Having spent vast periods of his life in Hobart, which he considers his “home away from home”, Schulz is uniquely placed to guide the cast as they launch the national tour right out of Hobart’s MyState Bank Arena.

Returning to the stage as the hilariously scheming Mayor Humdinger is seasoned mainstage artist Stephen Valeri (Chicago the Musical, Grease – The Arena Experience, Peppa Pig Live!), who previously played the role to critical acclaim across Australia, the UK, and Asia. He stars alongside Vanessa Menjivar (Daniela – In the Heights, PAW Patrol Live!), who returns as the kind-hearted and strong-willed Mayor Goodway. Menjivar balances her role with raising her two young daughters, Vida (4) and Luna (16 months), who are big fans of the show.

PAW Patrol Live! 'Race to the Rescue'

Ryder and the pups share lessons for all ages about citizenship, social skills and problem-solving as they make several heroic rescues on their race to the finish line. This year’s tour is proudly partnering with Assistance Dogs Australia, celebrating 30 years of training life-changing assistance dogs, with donation collections taking place during the tour.

Since its debut in 2016, PAW Patrol Live! shows have been seen by 7 million people in over 50 countries around the world. In the last 12 months, PAW Patrol has reached over 4.2 million viewers across 10 and 10 Streaming, and is currently the #1 kids’ series on Nickelodeon, 10 Streaming and Paramount+.

With household budgets under pressure, Nickelodeon is bringing big-name school holiday fun closer to home, delivering a Western Australian first by taking over Hawaiian’s neighbourhood shopping centres across Perth and giving local kids the chance to meet some of Nickelodeon’s most loved characters.

Across the school holidays, ten Hawaiian neighbourhood shopping centres will transform into must-visit holiday hubs, making it easier for families to stay local, travel less and spend less, without missing out on big holiday experiences.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Costumed Characters Meet Fan

The headline attraction is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem Ninja Course, a giant inflatable obstacle course making its first-ever appearance in Western Australia. Bursting with high-energy fun, the larger-than-life course challenges kids to climb, crawl, slide and race their way to the finish line in true ninja style.

'PAW Patrol' Characters

Younger fans can get creative at the PAW Patrol Craft Village, painting their own wooden characters to take home, topped off with a very special in-person visit from Chase himself.

Beyond the entertainment, Hawaiian centres are also becoming go-to school holiday food destinations, with viral dining favourites drawing families in for easy, affordable meals between activities. Highlights include Christo’s at Hawaiian’s Newpark, Louder Louder at Hawaiian’s Park Centre, Rocky Ridge Brewing Co. at Duncraig by Hawaiian, and Pauly’s Chicken at Hawaiian’s Noranda.

Adults are also getting a treat, with cult cafΓ© favourite ‘Daisies Cottesloe’ popping up at Hawaiian’s Mezz with its newly launched ‘Side Cart’. Running Wednesday to Friday across both weeks of the school holidays, the pop-up will serve 100 free coffees each day. Free Nickelodeon fun is coming to shopping centres across Perth this school holidays

If you’re looking for something to do with the kids these school holidays that won’t require a full day out or a big spend, these neighbourhood shopping centres have you covered.

Nickelodeon has taken over 10 Hawaiian centres across Perth — a WA first — bringing character meet-and-greets, a giant inflatable obstacle course and craft activities to suburbs from Hillarys to Melville, Forrestfield to Bassendean.

The headline act is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem Ninja Course, a large inflatable obstacle course running at Hawaiian’s Forrestfield (until Saturday 11 April) and Hawaiian’s Newpark from Monday 13 to Friday 17 April. Kids can also meet Mikey and Leo from the Turtles at both centres across the two weeks.

SpongeBob SquarePants is doing the rounds too — appearing at Hawaiian’s Mezz, Noranda and Hillarys by Hawaiian across both weeks — while Chase from PAW Patrol heads to Duncraig, Park Centre and Bassendean. Younger kids can also get hands-on at the PAW Patrol Craft Village, painting wooden characters to take home, with a visit from Chase himself.

For the adults, Daisies Cottesloe is popping up at Hawaiian’s Mezz with its new Side Cart — running Wednesday to Friday across both weeks of the holidays and handing out 100 free coffees each day. Positioned right next to the playground, we’re sure plenty of parents out there will appreciate the caffeine hit.

All activities are free and no bookings are needed, and run from 11am-2pm at participating centres.

The full schedule — including which characters are appearing where and when — is at hawaiian.com.au/neighbourhood-centres.

Paramount Set to Shutter Several Channels, Including Nickelodeon and Nick Jr., on Sky TV In New Zealand

New Zealand television provider Sky TV is embarking on a major content shake-up with the pending loss of a number of entertainment channels, including those with specialist music and children’s programmes, The New Zealand Herald's Media Insider reports.

Nickelodeon Splat logo (2023 rebrand)

The overhaul has been sparked by the upcoming expiry of Sky’s existing programming deal with U.S. giant Paramount Media Networks, which owns channels such as Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., MTV 80s, MTV Hits, and Comedy Central. All five channels screen on Sky TV as “pass-through” channels.

One source said the channels would come off air this year, but it isn’t clear if that’s a decision being driven by Paramount or Sky itself, however, Paramount is in the midst of cutting operating costs, which has included layoffs and studio closures. Paramount is also said to be mulling closing channels in Europe, with channels such as Club MTV, MTV 80s, MTV 90s, MTV 00s, MTV Hits and MTV Live HD slated to be closing by the end of the year in certain territories, such as Slovakia. Comedy Central and Paramount Network are also slated to be closing down in Hungary in the near future, too.

Paramount has its own streaming service, Paramount+, waiting in the wings, although there are apparently still no plans to launch it in New Zealand. Paramount+ was scheduled to launch in New Zealand in August 2021, but it is understood that move was eclipsed when it renewed its content deal with Sky.

Perhaps wary of how customers might react, Sky has played a perplexing public relations strategy over the past week as it has tried to deflect inquiries about a change in its channels and content strategy.
When Media Insider initially approached the company with information from a source that Sky was about to lose several channels when a major international deal came to an end, a spokeswoman replied with a statement that said the company did not comment on “rumours”.

Within a few days, and following further questions, the company conceded it had undertaken a “significant review of our entertainment strategy”.

This planning had been “under way for many months, including our planning for Sky-curated channels in the place of some of our pass-through channels”.

Sky is painting the upcoming changes in a positive public relations light, saying it plans to retain music and children’s content on new Sky-curated channels. In its statements over the past week, it has been coy about the overhaul and refused initially to even name or confirm the channels impacted, or which programming deals are coming to an end.

Sky, which had a horror run with customers earlier this year over an ailing satellite and a heavily criticised customer communications response, initially said of the channel changes: “Our strategy focuses on investing in the content we know our customers value.

“We don’t comment on rumours, but we review content agreements regularly and if anything was to change in our content line-up, we would always communicate it openly to our customers.”

When Media Insider went back to Sky with more specific information from our source – and reiterated our information was based on more than “rumours” – the company came back with an updated response, confirming changes.

“We are in constant dialogue with our entertainment content providers about how best to serve customer needs,” Sky TV content and product strategy head Fiona Murray said in a statement.

“We’ve been undertaking a significant review of our entertainment strategy, based on our rich viewership data and what our customers are telling us.

“We have been getting feedback from customers that they don’t like repeats on some of our affiliate channels (for your readers’ reference, these are the channels where we pass content straight through from international providers).

“We’ve been listening to that and want to address it. We are working on plans that would see us create new Sky channels that are more tailored for New Zealand audiences and where we can have more control on the titles we serve.

“We will be working with the same content partners, just in a different way. We know how much our customers value their entertainment content, so we want to reassure them any changes would be made with their preferences in mind.”

The company was “still some way off making any changes” and she said customers would be “the first to hear from us, with plenty of advance notice”.

After further questions, Sky issued a third statement last Monday, further articulating its position.

“We are currently in discussions with an international partner around changes to their pass-through channels within our Sky entertainment portfolio,” Murray said.

“The conversation is about changing the way we work with that partner to deliver content – not a wholesale ‘loss’ of content that our customers love. Our commitment is to continue delivering the shows and content our audiences love, likely through new, Sky-curated channels.

“Historically, pass-through channels have been a good way for content providers to package content for linear distribution. But as entertainment models evolve and viewer habits have shifted, other options may make more sense for some of our partners. That’s the discussion we’re having.”

She said that by building channels itself, Sky could choose and curate content “that we know our customers enjoy and engage with” and reduce the number of repeats.

She reiterated nothing would change for some months.

One of the issues facing Sky TV and other TV networks is consumers turning to platforms such as YouTube in increasing numbers to select specific content, such as children’s shows.

Sky will also no doubt be balancing the commercial opportunity of running its own channels and the risk of a consumer backlash if subscription-paying customers suddenly lose access to some of their favourite channels and shows.

In Australia, pay-channel operator Foxtel recently lost a swag of Warner Bros Discovery children’s content, including the Cartoon Network and Boomerang channels. In 2023, Foxtel lost Nickelodeon and Nick Jr., although the former became a free-to-air channel.

Sky still has the Warner Bros Discovery-owned Cartoon Network and it appears this will be retained.

As well as the five Paramount-owned channels that are part of Sky’s menu, Sky’s Neon streaming service also screens shows from Showtime, owned by Paramount.

Showtime owns shows such as Yellowjackets and Billions.

Sky said: “Showtime shows are available on Neon and Sky and will be for the foreseeable future, including Yellowjackets and Billions. We’re actively working to bring new Showtime titles to Sky and Neon customers.

“For instance ... we are announcing that Dexter: Resurrection will launch on Neon ... we expect a new season of Yellowjackets to launch within the next 12 months, and more show announcements will be forthcoming."

Sky has refused to say if Paramount made the call to end the current terms of the existing contract, or if it was Sky itself.

“The planning for Sky’s refreshed entertainment content framework has been under way for many months, including our planning for Sky-curated channels in the place of some of our pass-through channels. The upcoming ending of a contract period between Sky and Paramount created the opportunity to accelerate this initiative.”

Paramount confirmed the end of the “channel supply agreement later this year”.

Other content partnerships remained in place, said a spokeswoman.

“We appreciate the long-standing partnership with Sky TV and remain committed to delivering exceptional content to our viewers in partnership with Sky.”

Aldi In Australia Starts to Sell 'PAW Patrol' Merchandise For Adults

As with most kids shows, PAW Patrol also has its fair share of older fans. Unfortunately, however, when it comes to consumer products, most PAW Patrol merchandise is made for the show's target audience of preschoolers. Thankfully, this looks like it's about to change!

A PAW Patrol fan in Australia recently noticed that supermarket chain Aldi has started selling adult-sized PAW Patrol pajamas, including a set featuring Chase the police pup and a modified PAW Patrol logo saying "Dad Patrol".

It's currently unknown whether Paramount Consumer Products and Spin Master Entertainment have any plans to expand on their adult PAW Patrol product range, including launching it in other countries, but I'm sure grown up fans of the series would love to see it!

In fact, this isn't the first time that PAW Patrol merchandise for older viewers were planned. Around six years ago, a PAW Patrol product range featuring suitcases, handbags, backpacks, tops, caps, and gloves for grown ups were in the pipeline, however, the line was unfortunately canceled and never released.

PAW Patrol fans can stream full PAW Patrol episodes and movies, including The Mighty Movie, on Paramount+. Try it FREE today at ParamountPlus.com.

Nickelodeon Joins Forces With Fire And Rescue NSW In Australia

Nickelodeon Joins Forces With Fire And Rescue NSW.

The Corporate Community Partnership Looks To Bolster Youth Fire Education Awareness Through PAW Patrol™ Franchise.

The Corporate Community Partnership Looks To Bolster Youth Fire Education Awareness Through PAW Patrol™ Franchise.

Paramount Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) has announced the commencement of a new corporate community partnership with Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW).

The inaugural partnership which commences this month, will support fire education and awareness initiatives for youth audiences by harnessing an alignment with the hit animated preschool property PAW Patrol, airing on Nickelodeon and produced by Spin Master Entertainment.

Following the outstanding response to PAW Patrol’s association with the 2023 FRNSW Open Day at the Emergency Services Academy in 2023, this partnership will see crucial fire safety messages conveyed to children through messaging from PAW Patrol’s cast of characters.

Minister for Emergency Services, Jihad Dib, said the new partnership will help young people connect with important fire safety messaging, with the popular PAW Patrol characters championing these messages and sharing them in an engaging way.

“With a special appeal to young people, we look forward to seeing Marshall and his mates at FRNSW events and taking part in other community activities which promote fire safety in our homes.”

FRNSW Commissioner, Jeremy Fewtrell, hopes having the fire service team up with PAW Patrol will develop more fire safety ‘ambassadors’ across the state.

“It’s crucial everyone knows how to protect themselves against the risks of fire, but we acknowledge people learn this in different ways,” Commissioner Fewtrell said.

“What we often find through our education programs is that, once children learn about fire prevention and how to react if a fire breaks out, they then share this information with parents and grandparents, among others.”

Paramount Australia Senior Vice President, Content & Programming, Daniel Monaghan, said Nickelodeon is “beyond proud to be partnering with FRNSW.”

“FRNSW and PAW Patrol share the universal themes of rescue, community service, teamwork and friendship, making it the perfect partnership,” Mr Monaghan said.

“We look forward to contributing to the awareness of fire safety messages amongst some of the youngest members of the community.”
