With The Bureau of Magical Things season two airing on Nickelodeon channels internationally and recently hitting Netflix in the U.S. and Canada, many fans have been wondering whether there will be a third season of the supernatural series. Unfortunately, it seems like the fate of the series is still up in the air.
When asked by Matt Webb Mitovich at TVLine, a rep for the Aussie drama would neither confirm nor deny the possibility of a third season, telling TVLine, “We like to keep our options open.”
Created by Australian television producer Jonathan M. Shiff (H2O: Just Add Water), The Bureau of Magical Things combines magic, mystery, and a unique mythology to tell the story of Kyra, an ordinary teenage girl who is caught in a clash between an elf and a fairy then becomes magically transformed. As a “Tri-ling”—part human, part fairy, and part elf—Kyra teams with a group of magical teenagers and learns to use her newfound powers to keep the human (insan) world safe from the surprising, funny, and sometimes dangerous effects of magical chaos. But when these young guardians uncover a threat, humans, fairies, and elves must unite to save both their worlds!
The Bureau of Magical Things stars Kimie Tsukakoshi (The Family Law) as Kyra, a confident teenage Tri-ling who exhibits powers of both fairies (Peri) and elves; Mia Milnes as Lily, an optimistic and sweet fairy; Elizabeth Cullen as Imogen, a headstrong and ambitious elf; Julian Cullen as Darra, Imogen’s charming hipster elf brother; Rainbow Wedell (Terra Nova) as Ruksy, an orderly fairy and teacher’s pet; Jamie Carter (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) as Peter, Kyra’s longtime classmate and science fiction lover; Christopher Sommers (Hunters) as Professor Maxwell, a witty half-elf-half-human in charge of the local Magic School; Melanie Zanetti (The Leisure Class) as Orla, an elf agent working for the Department of Magical Intervention (DMI); and Nicholas Bell (I, Frankenstein) as Sean, director of the DMI and Lily’s father. Joining the cast in season two is Miah Madden, who will portray Tayla.
The Bureau of Magical Things season two was commissioned by Network 10, German public broadcaster ZDF and Paramount-owned kids’ network Nickelodeon. The new season made its world premiere on 10 Shake on Saturday 10th July 2021, followed by Nickelodeon channels internationally.

The Bureau of Magical Things season two (20 episodes) continues the adventures of Kyra, a teenage girl who acquired magical powers when caught in a clash between an elf and a fairy. Season two will see the show's original cast return, led by Kimie Tsukakoshi (The Family Law) as Kyra. Siblings Elizabeth Cullen and Julian Cullen (Danger Close: The Battle of Long Tan) return as elf brother and sister on screen. Mia Milnes and Rainbow Wedell (Jiva) also headline as fairies. Jamie Carter plays Kyra’s human friend and now a member of ‘The Bureau’, while Arnijka Larcombe-Weate returns as Kyra’s problematic bestie oblivious to the magical world. The young cast are joined by experienced actors Christopher Sommers (Sweet Tooth, The Water Diviner), Nicholas Bell (Mission Impossible II, Wanted), Steve Nation (Neighbours) and this season introduces Tasneem Roc (Harrow, Rake, Reef Doctors).
In the season two premiere episode, "Vanished," when Kyra is magically snatched from Lily's sleepover and transported to a Bangkok warehouse, she and Darra are chased by a mysterious fairy and elf who accuse them of theft. Then in "A Dangerous Secret," Kyra forces Darra to explain why he was in the Bangkok warehouse, and they agree to join forces to find the Three Keys to the legendary, mythical Temple of the Purple Lotus.

NICKELODEON SET TO DEBUT THE ALL-NEW ANIMATED SERIES THE SMURFS THIS OCTOBER
Blue and small, and standing only three apples tall, The Smurfs are set to make their Nickelodeon debut in an all-new series which premiered on Monday 04 October 2021, at 16:00 on Nickelodeon at 15:00 WAT / 16:00 CAT on DStv channel 305.
The news was announced by Nickelodeon, the number-one network for kids, and LAFIG Belgium and IMPS, the worldwide licensors for The Smurfs, alongside the official trailer reveal for the CG-animated series, which follows the beloved characters embarking upon rousing adventures. All-new episodes will continue to rollout on weekdays after school on Nickelodeon (DStv Channel 305) for families to enjoy together.
The original series marks the return of the globally renowned characters to television for the first time in nearly 40 years and follows Papa Smurf, Smurfette, Brainy, Hefty, Clumsy and the other inhabitants of Smurf Village on all-new adventures, packed with humour, heart and high-stakes action. In the premiere episode, “Smurf-Fu,” when Smurfette rescues Brainy from a giant snake, the other Smurfs ask her to teach them “Smurf-Fu.” Next in, “Diaper Daddy,” when everyone is tired of changing Baby’s diapers, Handy decides to invent a robot that will do the job.
The voice cast pushing the charm and absurdity of the original comics to even greater heights includes: David Freeman (7 Promises) as Papa Smurf, the father figure keeping the other Smurfs in line; Berangere McNeese (Matriochkas) as Smurfette, a curious Smurf who is always ready to take part in new adventures; Lenny Mark Irons (No Man’s Land) as Gargamel, a conniving human wizard with a bottomless thirst to capture Smurfs; Youssef El Kaoukibi (NRJ Belgium) as Brainy, who considers himself the smartest of the bunch; and Catherine Hershey (Boundary Games) as Willow, the brave and wise matriarch of a new tribe of girl Smurfs.
The Smurfs CG-animated series acquisition is overseen by Layla Lewis, Senior Vice President, Global Acquisitions and Content Partnerships and Dana Cluverius, Senior Vice President, Current Series Animation for Nickelodeon.
