VIMN launched Paramount Play in Poland in October 2018, where it became the first country in the Central & Eastern Europe (CEE) region to access the service. Initially launched on Play Now from mobile operator P4 and on cable operator Toya, Paramount Play provides unlimited access to Paramount Pictures vast film library, popular series and local productions from Viacom's portfolio of top-tier channels.
As a result of the expanding the partnership between VIMN and Orange Polska, subscribers to the Orange TV platform will receive unlimited access to Paramount Pictures' rich film library and a wide range of programmes from Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., MTV, and Comedy Central. Subscribers of the extended package, including LOVE Extra and LOVE Premium, will receive access to Paramount Play at no extra cost, as part their subscription fee for using the Orange TV services.
Paramount Play offers a rich programme library including such titles as SpongeBob SquarePants, Shimmer and Shine, Comedy Club, South Park, PAW Patrol, Warsaw Shore and Ex on the Beach, and cult feature films such as The Godfather, Saving Private Ryan and Catch Me If You Can. In the autumn, the latest season of the series Yellowstone, starring Kevin Costner will be available on the service.
Additionally, Orange customers in Poland who opt for the Orange TV service, as well as the Love package, can now choose a modern 4K decoder.
According to the company, the 4K Premium decoder (ICU100) or a 4K decoder (IWU200) with a multirecorder service includes live TV replay and seven day catch-up. It also allows users to record an unlimited number of programmes, which can then be stored in the cloud and watched for 30 days.
The multirecorder service will be continually enriched with more channels and is also available to Orange TV Go customers.
Users of Orange’s Multi Premium service who use the 4K decoders will be able to watch programmes recorded on the multirecorder service on other devices.
Meanwhile, subscribers to Orange TV’s extended fibre optic packages will also receive access to the extensive film library of Paramount Pictures – Paramount Play, MTV, Comedy Central, Nick Jr. and Nickelodeon.

Paramount+ initially launched in the Nordics in 2017 as a set-top box and TV Everywhere application available to higher tier subscribers of pay TV operators. The Telia partnership marks the first time that the service will be available direct to consumers on a standalone subscription basis.
In the Nordics, Paramount+ offers a first pay TV window for Paramount Pictures’ new movie releases alongside an array of classic films, TV dramas and programming from Viacom-owned brands Nickelodeon, MTV, Comedy Central and Bellator MMA.
The service will be marketed as a standalone branded destination on Telia’s platform. A subscription to Paramount+ will be available to all Telia TV customers for an additional €7.95 per month.
Jesper Dahl, General Manager (GM) for Viacom in the Nordics said: “Paramount+ has proven to be a great success in Nordic markets and we’re delighted to now expand the service in Finland. With Paramount+, our partners can offer their customers exclusive and unique content from Viacom’s broad content portfolio, including kids content from Nickelodeon, new movie releases and classic films from Paramount Pictures’ as well as top performing shows from Comedy Central and MTV.”
Olli-Pekka Takanen, head of TV and media at Telia Finland, said: “We are excited to add new content into Telia TV. Telia TV is a service open to all customers regardless of their operator. This means that anyone in Finland interested in Paramount Pictures’ new movie releases now have the opportunity to sit back and enjoy great movies through Telia TV.”

Viacom Launches Paramount+ SVOD Service in Hungary; Include Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. Programming
Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) has launched Paramount+ in Hungary, marking the SVOD service’s second release in the region following its recent rollout in Poland.
Paramount+ is now available as a standalone offer on Magyar Telekom’s Moziklub video-on-demand (VOD) platform. It is available to customers through the telco’s set-top boxes, as well as its OTT subscription VOD platform and app TV GO.
Viewers will be able to access a range of content through the Paramount-branded service, including films like Transformers, Forrest Gump and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, and will offer access to the video libraries of Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., MTV Magyarország, Comedy Central and Spike, featuring programmes like SpongeBob SquarePants, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, School of Rock, Paw Patrol, Catfish, Drunk History, and Bellator.
Commenting on the Hungarian launch, Elena Balmont, Senior Vice President (SVP), interim General Manager (GM), Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) Central and Eastern Europe and Israel, said: “We are delighted to partner with Magyar Telekom for the launch of Paramount+ in Hungary. It’s the perfect complement to our portfolio of channels, offering hundreds of hit movies and TV shows for viewers of all ages and interests. It enriches the range of premium content offered by our distribution partners, while providing flexible access to our wide range of programming content for consumers. An important extension to our linear TV business, this new SVOD service enables us to diversify our footprint and further strengthen Viacom’s market leading position in CEE.”
VIMN launched Paramount+ for the first time in the CEE region in October, debuting the service in Poland (locally titled Paramount Play) with mobile operator Play and cable TV distributor Toya. The Polish offering also offers customers access to the video libraries of Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., MTV Polska and Comedy Central. CEE is the second region to roll out the Paramount-branded entertainment offering, with a version already available in the Nordics.
The news follows Viacom launching the award-winning Nickelodeon Play VOD app in in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) in September 2018. The app debuted in Serbia, and will roll-out in more territories in the near future.
In additional Nickelodeon Europe news, Greek mobile network operator Cosmote TV has enriched its over-the-top (OTT) Cosmote TV Go service with the new package Cosmote TV Go Sports Daily Pass which offers access to 13 sports channels, including 9 Cosmote Sport channels for a whole day. Paramount+ néven új VOD-szolgáltatást indít a Viacom a Magyar Telekommal
Paramount+ néven új video-on-demand szolgáltatást indított Magyarországon a Viacom – jelentette be a Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) hazai képviselete.

He will report to both Jason Jordan, Executive Vice President, Viacom Multiplatform Strategy & Operations, and Jose Tolosa, Chief Operating Officer, VIMN and Executive Vice President, Global Strategy, Viacom Media Networks.
Jason Jordan said, “The formation of the Global Product Development Group signals a significant evolution in the way Viacom develops multiplatform products, and no one is better suited to spearhead this critical endeavor than Dan. In line with our new corporate strategy, adopting a single global approach will help us to amplify the digital presence of our brands and create more robust, innovative and scalable digital touchpoints for our audiences.”
Dan Reich said, “I am incredibly excited to be working with such a highly talented team to take Viacom’s multiplatform products to the next level. Together, we will focus our global resources on platforms that truly connect with our audiences, making them faster and stronger, and fulfilling our promise to deliver premium content to audiences when they want, where they want.”

Viacom International Media Networks Looking To Expand Mobile Offerings
In a recent interview with Bloomberg about how cable a la carte is becoming a reality in international markets, Bob Bakish, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN), has announced that Viacom is looking to partner with mobile providers to offer channels such as Nickelodeon and MTV to smartphone owners!
The media company is also considering going directly to consumers with networks that now are currently only available in the USA, like TV Land.
Viacom is also looking to expand its Viacom Play Plex, a suite of mobile TV apps, including Nick Play, which allows its distribution partners to offer smartphone and tablet users around the world access to the best content from all of its international TV brands, anytime and anywhere, through mobile providers.
Bob Bakish met with a number of potential partners whilst attending the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona in February 2016, including an Indonesian carrier that wants Nickelodeon content and has more than 100 million subscribers.
Some channels, like BET and TV Land, aren't widely distributed internationally. With those, Bakish said, the company has discussed selling over the Internet either on its own or with the help of mobile providers.
"We are in a range of conversations," Bakish said. "There is a significant incremental penetration opportunity."

Nickelodeon And OSN Release Nickelodeon Play App In Middle East And North Africa
Nickelodeon, the number-one entertainment brand for kids, and Dubai-based pay-TV network OSN have announced the arrival of the Emmy Award-winning Nickelodeon Play app in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region!
Launched on Sunday 29th November 2015, Nickelodeon Play is available to download for free from the Apple app store for iOS devices and Google Play for Android devices.
While Nickelodeon Play, formally the Nick App, is free to download throughout the region, OSN subscribers also have access to full-length episodes of hit Nickelodeon shows such as "SpongeBob SquarePants" via their OSN credentials.
Nickelodeon Play features a neat functionality, including an innovative tile layout that can be swiped in any direction, promotes discovery and exploration and offers kids instant and on-demand access to more than 1,000 pieces of Nickelodeon-themed content in both English and Arabic. In addition to exclusive content for OSN subscribers, there will be original skits and sketches, behind-the-scenes clips from Nick stars and animated characters, and new games.
Since launching on iOS in the US in 2013, the app has amassed more than 17 million downloads to date, rolling out internationally across the UK, Latin America, Northern Europe and Australia. The goal of the app was to go beyond free video viewing, and instead offer more interactive content not seen on television - whenever and wherever the user wants it. As a result, it was honoured with a Creative Arts Emmy in the Outstanding Creative Achievement in Interactive Media category in September 2013, as well as a Broadcast Digital Award in 2014 and a Meffy Sector Award in 2015.
Nickelodeon Play is part of the Viacom Play Plex suite of mobile TV apps.
Nickelodeon HD is available exclusively on OSN in the MENA region.
Additionally, Nickelodeon UK has renamed the UK & Irish version of the Nick App to Nick Play! The update is available to download through the Apple and Google Play app stores.

Original Viacom International Media Networks Press Release via VIMN Asia's official Pressroom:
VIACOM LAUNCHES 'VIACOM PLAY PLEX' SUITE OF BRANDED MOBILE TV APPS
Offers ANYTIME, ANYWHERE access to best content from each of Viacom's international brands
Will be available to pay TV and mobile network subscribers in iOS and Android in 180 countries
SINGAPORE, 8 SEPTEMBER 2015 – Viacom has today announced the launch of Viacom Play Plex, a suite of mobile TV apps allowing its distribution partners to offer smartphone and tablet users around the world access to the best content from ALL its international TV brands, anytime and anywhere.
Starting in the fourth quarter of 2015, the Viacom Play Plex apps will be available to launch in every one of the 180 international territories in which Viacom owns and operates TV channels*. There will be a separate mobile Play app for each of Viacom's major international TV channel brands – Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Channel, Spike and BET – offering video-on-demand (VOD) access to a range of current and library content, as well as a live, local linear stream of the relevant channel, and other content including games for Nick Play. Click HERE to view/embed a video introducing Viacom Play Plex.
Viacom will also look for new distribution partners for the Viacom Play Plex apps, including mobile network operators.
Bob Bakish, President and CEO, Viacom International Media Networks, commented: "Viacom Play Plex offers us maximum flexibility in distributing our content as the way viewers consume their favorite TV shows continues to evolve. These apps are designed to complement our linear pay TV channels and to allow our existing distribution partners to deepen and improve the entertainment experience they offer their subscribers. But, Viacom Play Plex also opens up new distribution opportunities for us, particularly in the fast-growing mobile TV sector, and, ultimately, positions us to succeed in a world of more personalized entertainment services and greater consumer choice."
Each branded Play app will be localized for each country in which it is made available, both in terms of language and available content, giving users more ways to access Viacom's global hits such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Catfish: The TV Show and Lip Sync Battle, as well as local productions.
Mobile TV viewers everywhere will enjoy an intuitive, video-focused user interface and enhanced video player, which reduces loading and buffering times, as well as an algorithmic menu that adapts to their tastes. Apps will include social and sharing components, and will be available in both iOS and Android to download from the Apple App store and Google Play store respectively.
Bakish added: "Viacom Play Plex allows viewers across the globe to watch the TV shows they love from their favorite Viacom brands anytime and anywhere. We believe no other international entertainment company is offering this type of innovation at this scale, serving every major demographic in every major TV market."

Viacom International to Roll out Mobile TV Apps
The Viacom Play Plex suite of branded apps offers "maximum flexibility in distributing our content as the way viewers consume their favorite TV shows continues to evolve," the company's global networks arm says.
Viacom will launch a suite of mobile TV apps for all its major brands in all its international markets later this year to reach existing and new consumers as people increasingly watch shows and movies on mobile devices.
The portfolio of apps, dubbed Viacom Play Plex, will allow its distribution partners to offer smartphone and tablet users around the world access to live and on-demand content from all its international brands. Starting in the fourth quarter, the app will start rolling out in the company's 180 international territories, with first deals for authenticated apps with distribution companies expected to be announced at a later date.
In the U.S., Viacom Media Networks has already been offering a range of authenticated mobile apps to support its TV channel brands. Now Viacom International Media Networks will off a separate mobile app for each of the company's major international TV brands, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Channel, Spike and BET, based on the same Play architecture.
Viacom is looking at different distribution options for Viacom Play Plex, with the apps possibly being offered on both a collective and standalone basis to existing pay TV partners so they can integrate it into their TV Everywhere services. Viacom will also look for new distribution partners for the apps, including mobile network operators.
Bob Bakish, president and CEO of Viacom International Media Networks, said: "Viacom Play Plex offers us maximum flexibility in distributing our content as the way viewers consume their favorite TV shows continues to evolve.
He added: "We believe no other international entertainment company is offering this type of innovation at this scale, serving every major demographic in every major TV market."
Bakish also told THR: "We’re looking at evolving consumer behavior in terms of how they access content. About 18 months ago or so we decided to more formally embrace mobile platforms. The Nick app has been getting traction, and we saw an opportunity to provide a more holistic solution, including other brands. We think this is a very important contemporary complement to the products we are already providing. We think this is additive to consumer media consumption."
In addition to live, local linear TV streams, the apps also offer on-demand content and, in the case of Nick Play, games. The apps, which will be available in both iOS and Android versions, focus on an intuitive, video-focused interface and enhanced video player, which reduces loading and buffering time. It also includes an algorithmic menu that adapts to users' tastes. The apps will also include social and sharing components.
Each branded Play app will be localized for each country in terms of language and available content, including such global hits as SpongeBob SquarePants, Catfish, Lip Sync Battle and local productions. The company said it could add advertising, e-commerce and other offerings over time because the apps, developed in-house, allow for such functionality.
"Consumers want easy access to video, and so video is already playing when you enter the apps," Dan Reich, senior vp multiplatform product strategy & development at Viacom International Media Networks, told THR. "Historically, you have had static images and multi-step menus. Our goal is to get consumers into video as quickly as possible." Since the app is video-based, there is also little in terms of graphics and text that needs to be localized, he said.
Bakish said the apps will also offer acquired content, but with Viacom spending more than $4 billion a year on original content, it has the advantage of being able to tap into its own deep programming pool. "We own and control a lot of rights," he said. "So with the launch of such a product, we have a significant advantage. We still have to pay participants, but we control a lot of content. Since this is in the first wave of deployment TV Everywhere usage, even with licensed shows, we are in pretty good shape."
Viacom's Nick app, which was developed for the U.S. and has been rolled out in five international markets since 2013, is being updated and rebranded as Nick Play internationally to be offered as part of Viacom Play Plex.
Viacom's and other research has highlighted the appeal of TV Everywhere mobile TV services, with consumers saying they add value to existing pay TV subscriptions and make them more likely to stay with pay TV providers.
