Google Celebrates Thanksgiving with Tiny Chef Doodle

It’s always nice to welcome old friends back for the holidays! In a new special collaboration with Google, the search engine’s Thanksgiving 2025 Doodle features the one and only Tiny Chef. The little guy’s show was canceled earlier this year, leading to an outpouring of fan support in hopes of inspiring an on-screen return for the little green cuisine machine.

Tiny Chef Thanksgiving 2025 Google Doodle

This Doodle was made with a very special collaborator, Tiny Chef! “Cheffy,” the lovable herbivore chef who lives in a tree stump and makes the world’s smallest (and cutest) dishes, is sharing his favorite holiday things with us this Thanksgiving.

Cheffy shows us that cooking isn’t about size or perfection — it’s about sharing with heart and making something to share with your friends and family.

Google Gives Funny 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' Easter Egg When You Search 'War in Ba Sing Se'

Is Google part of the Ba Sing Se conspiracy?

Many netizens have recently found out that if you Google "war in Ba Sing Se," the search engine answers with "Did you mean: There is no war in Ba Sing Se?"

Credit: GMA News Online.

A recent TikTok video also uncovered this Google easter egg and the post has so far garnered over 30,000 likes.

Google seems to have been hiding this Avatar: The Last Airbender reference in plain sight for quite some time, and fans of the show are always amused to discover it.

The line "There is no war in Ba Sing Se" became prevalent in the second season, when Team Avatar travels to the Earth Kingdom's capital, Ba Sing Se, only to discover that the ongoing war has been covered up by some members of the government.

For those who are unfamiliar, Avatar: The Last Airbender was originally created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko for Nickelodeon in 2005. The series is set in world people can manipulate the elements of Earth, Water, Fire, and Air, and they lived peacefully in different regions until one of the regions started a world war.

One master who can manipulate all four elements, dubbed the "Avatar," had been able to prevent this war, but disappeared soon after. 100 years later, a new Avatar named Aang awakens and sets out on a journey to master all the elements in order to bring peace to the land once more. The Legend of Korra takes place takes place 70 years after the events of its predecessor, following the next Avatar, a young girl named Korra from the Southern Water Tribe.

Both series continue in success ongoing graphic novel series published by Dark Horse.

Avatar has seen a resurgence in popularity in the past few months after both Last Airbender and Legend of Korra hit Paramount+ and Netflix. It turns out that nostalgic millennials, a global quarantine, and a light-hearted binge are a perfect combination. Nickelodeon took notice, announcing the formation of Avatar Studios, a new creative endeavor focused solely on putting out new Avatar content. The original creators are on board, but exactly what characters or stories we can expect to see was left unsaid. Netflix is also developing a live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series, without the show's original creators.

'Victorious' Named as One of the Most Searched for TV Comedies on Google in 2019

Fresh from being re-added to Netflix, Victorious, one of Nickelodeon's most beloved live-action comedy series of the decade, has been named as fourth most searched for comedy series on Google for 2019!

Victorious was joined in the "Top 5 Trending Comedies" list by Dead to Me (1), The Boys (2), Rick and Morty (3), and Fleabag (5).

Update (31/12) - Although Victorious was only re-added to Netflix's library in November 2019, Netflix has revealed that the series was the fifth most kid and family series streamed on the platform in 2019 - beating the likes of even Fuller House season 5!:

Victorious (stylised as "VICTORiOUS") revolves around aspiring singer Tori Vega (portrayed by Victoria Justice), a teenager who attends a performing arts high school called Hollywood Arts High School, after taking her older sister Trina's (Daniella Monet) place in a showcase, while getting into screwball situations on a daily basis. On her first day at Hollywood Arts, she meets Andre Harris (Leon Thomas III), Robbie Shapiro (Matt Bennett), Rex Powers (Robbie's puppet), Jade West (Elizabeth Gillies), Cat Valentine (Ariana Grande), and Beck Oliver (Avan Jogia). The series premiered on Nickelodeon USA on March 27, 2010 after the 2010 Kids' Choice Awards, running for 57 episodes over four* seasons until February 2, 2013. The series spawned music albums and video games. (Technically three seasons, however, season three was split into half to make a fourth season.) The show's theme song is "Make It Shine", performed by Victoria Justice

The news follows Nickelodeon India's Motu Patlu also being named as one of the most searched for television shows on Google in 2019.

Motu Patlu Named as One of the Most Searched For TV Shows Globally in 2019

Nickelodeon India's hit animated comedy series Motu Patlu has once again been named as one of the most searched for TV shows globally on Google in 2019!

Motu Patlu was the ninth most searched for television show globally by fans, according to the 'TV Show' section of Google Trend's Google's Year in Search (2019 Edition).

Google's 'Top 10 Most Searched for TV Shows Globally' list for 2019 in full is:

1 - Game of Thrones
2 - Stranger Things
3 - Chernobyl
4 - When They See Us
5 - The Umbrella Academy
6 - The Mandalorian
7 - Baal Veer
8 - Euphoria
9 - Motu Patlu
10 - Dead to Me

Motu Patlu (मोटू पतलू) is only one of two Indian television series to make the list, the other being Baal Veer (बालवीर), a children's fantasy series.

Motu Patlu is a classic Indian cartoon series on the same lines as Laurel and Hardy. The show follows Motu and Patlu, two best friends who constantly run into trouble, and subsequently chased by a police officer. The show is one of Nickelodeon India's most watched shows, with the series reportedly garnering more than 3 million views on WowKidz, Cosmos Mayas’ and YouTube India in 2018. Interestingly, show is geo-blocked on YouTube.

The news comes after another big year for Motu Patlu: The duo were inducted into the Madame Tussauds waxwork museum in New Delhi, did a bit of yoga with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and became a hit in China. The series also recently added another feather to its cap by winning the ‘Best Animation – Jury’ award at the prestigious Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival.

Motu Patlu made its debut on Nick India on 16th October 2012, and has since become one of the most popular cartoons in India. The series is produced by Maya Digital Studios and Cosmos Entertainment, produced by Deepa Sahi and Anish JS Mehta, and directed by Suhas Kadav, with Sandesh Shandilya serving as the show's theme song composer. The theme song "Motu Aur Patlu Ki Jodi" is sung by Sukhwinder Singh. The success of Motu Patlu has spawned a spin-off series, Inspector Chingum, which is available on Amazon Prime Video.

From India Today:

Baal Veer, Motu Patlu in world's most-searched TV shows in 2019. Game of Thrones on top, but so what?

Google's most-searched TV shows include Baal Veer and Motu Patlu. Game of Thrones tops the list, with Strangers Things on the second spot.

Move over Game of Thrones, Google's global list of the most-searched TV show of 2019, as Indian TV viewers would find most interesting, includes Baal Veer and Motu Patlu. Unlike Game of Thrones, which is strictly for adult viewers, both Baal Veer and Motu Patlu are kids' shows.

Google shared the most-searched list of 2019. Game of Thrones (last season release date) that aired its final episode this year, was the most-searched show while Stranger Things (last season release date), which returned this year with its third season, grabbed the second spot. The top ten list included two Indian TV shows, but neither of the TRP toppers or any of the Ekta Kapoor shows could make it to the list. SAB TV's kids' fantasy show Baal Veer and Nickelodeon's animated series Motu Patlu were the significant two who made a mark. Looks like kids are Googling their way to their favourite shows.

Where shows with a global reach like Game of Thrones, Stranger Things and Chernobyl have been listed, two Indian shows making a mark is a big achievement. Our shows don't just have domestic reach but it's also making its presence felt globally - and if this is not a show of India's soft power, we don't know what is. This is not the first time that Motu Patlu made it to the list. The series was ranked fourth in 2018. However, there was only one Indian show in the top 10 last year, while this year there are two. In 2017, the controversial reality show Bigg Boss was the sixth most-searched TV show in the world.

Baal Veer, starring Dev Joshi in the titular role went off the air in 2016 and returned with a new season this year in September. The story revolves around a boy Baalveer, who is blessed with the superpowers of seven fairies. After fighting with Bhayankar Pari in Season 1, Baalveer has returned to defeat the evil witches Timnasa and Bhaymaar. But, in order to defeat the evil forces, he needs to find his successor. Baal Veer finds his successor in 9-year-old Vivaan and now the show revolves around their adventures.

Baal Veer and Motu Patlu are among the top ten most-searched TV shows in Google's global list of 2019.

Nickelodeon's animated series Motu Patlu is the Indian version of Laurel and Hardy. Motu and Patlu are two friends who live in a fictional town known as Furfuri Nagariya. They have a unique ability to attract trouble that lands them in hilarious situations. The duo is clueless, simple yet lovable adventurers who are always by each other's side through thick and thin. While Motu is a foodie and loves to gorge on samosas, Patlu is the intelligent one and together, they are a laugh riot.

Viacom Taps Google Cloud for Digital Content Discovery

How Viacom modernized its Intelligent Content Discovery Platform with Google Cloud

Now more than ever, entertainment has become an immersive experience that often transcends cultures, borders, languages and devices—something that Viacom knows well. The media company delivers entertainment content and experiences to billions of people in more than 180 countries every day through award-winning brands like Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, MTV, BET, and Paramount.

As the amount of content available to a global audience has grown exponentially, Viacom has been working to strengthen its targeting capabilities for content delivery across platforms and to better leverage insights to more efficiently serve personalized experiences to audiences wherever they are.

To acquire more content intelligence and workflow efficiency, Viacom has selected Google Cloud to power its Intelligent Content Discovery Platform. The platform comprises Viacom’s media lifecycle from content creation to distribution and ultimately monetization. For example, when new content is produced, Viacom will be able to automatically extract short-form "clips" identifying what’s relevant to a viewer, all to better showcase new content. Through video intelligence APIs, machine learning technologies will detect and automatically flag particular commercials to help create an optimal, personalized viewer experience.

Google Cloud also empowers smarter direct-to-consumer choices, so that Viacom can provide better in-context ads placement and help consumers reach the content they prefer. Google Cloud’s machine learning capabilities provide Viacom with automated content tagging, discovery and intelligence for more than 65 petabytes of content—the equivalent of 2.5 billion Blu-Ray DVDs of material. This makes it easier for Viacom’s internal stakeholders, such as content editors and ad tech teams, to have a deeper understanding of content while also ensuring viewers get access to more of the content they want to see.

Finally, Viacom is taking advantage of Google’s Customer Reliability Engineering (CRE) model. Designed to deepen the partnership between businesses and customers, CRE comprises Google engineers who collaborate closely with a customer’s operations teams to share the reliability responsibilities for critical cloud applications. Collaborating in this way creates a shared ownership between Google Cloud and Viacom to meet the needs of Viacom and their customers.

“We needed a partner who not only has the technical prowess but the dedication and collaboration to help us pivot toward a cloud-first strategy,” said David Kline, Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Information & Technology Officer at Viacom. “One of the most important considerations in selecting Google Cloud was its commitment to ongoing learning and training. The team is the perfect combination of people and technology to help us scale, develop applications, and deliver the best experience to our audiences around the world.”

"We are thrilled to help Viacom infuse machine learning intelligence into legacy workflows to help evolve its business in the digital media ecosystem," added John Honeycutt, Vice President (VP), Telecommunications, Media & Entertainment, Google Cloud on the official Google Cloud Blog.
