Banijay Kids & Family, a global leader in children’s entertainment, behind hit shows such as Totally Spies! and Mr Bean: The Animated Series, recently announced a new partnership for Stan & Gran. Co-produced by Tiger Aspect Kids & Family (part of Banijay Kids & Family), Jollywise, and Xentrix Studios, the brand is set to collaborate with the RSPB for a year-long initiative which aims to inspire young children to explore and protect the natural world.
'Stan & Gran' | Banijay Kids & Family
Stan & Gran launched on 5’s Milkshake! on 10th November 2025 and will air on Nick Jr. UK & Ireland from 2026. It follows the mystery-busting adventures of Stan Breakwater, a curious and excitable young nature lover, and his fun-loving, dynamic Gran, as they investigate the strange goings-on in the fictional British coastal village of Porthole. Blending humour and intrigue with factual entertainment, Stan & Gran highlights themes of discovery, exploration and nature.
Both the RSPB and Stan & Gran’s propositions foster curiosity, environmental awareness, and scientific thinking in children. Wild Times, the RSPB’s nature magazine, aimed at RSPB members under eight, is jam-packed with fascinating wildlife facts and fun nature-related activities, puzzles and crafts. The campaign begun in December 2025, with the issue featuring a colouring-in activity and an introduction to the show and its characters. From the March/April 2026 edition, a Stan & Gran comic will feature in the next six editions of the magazine. The partnership will be presented in the RSPB Notes on Nature newsletter and supported through the RSPB website to ensure strong visibility.
Jon Mason, Creator and Executive Producer of Stan & Gran says: “I have been a member of the RSPB since I was a young boy, so when I started to develop the show, I met with them very early on. Nature is at the very heart of Stan & Gran, with every episode designed to spark curiosity and wonder in the natural world – these principles are foundational to what the RSPB believes in, so it’s a perfect match. Both Stan & Gran and the RSPB want to inspire the next generation of nature lovers, through fun and adventure. Partnering with the RSPB feels like a full circle moment for me!”
The RSPB adds: “Our partnership with Stan & Gran is a perfect match for Wild Times readers – RSPB members under eight. It’s vital that we pass our love, curiosity and knowledge of nature on to the younger generations. Stan & Gran carries this message at its heart.”

The Loud Librarian is back - and she's got unbridled enthusiasm for the library!
It's a troubling time in America right now, with books being banned and vital funding for libraries being decimated. What the world needs now is a superhero.. no wait, even better, a librarian, and Nickelodeon alum Lori Beth Denberg is here to answer the call!
In partnership with We Believe and EveryLibrary and in celebration of National Library Week, Denberg reprises her iconic All That character The Loud Librarian for a pro-library, anti-book banning PSA!
In the video, below, Denberg explains that everyone's fundamental right to read and learn is being endangered by funding cuts and book banning, and how the library is vital for providing internet access in rural communities, interspersed with her telling library visitors her classic catchphrase, "QUIET! THIS IS A LIBRARY!".
She’s back from the ’90s, and she’s getting loud about the threats to our public and school libraries! But for the first time ever, her voice might not be loud enough — we need your help! Your favorite Loud Librarian is back with some vital information on how to raise your voice during National Library Week and beyond, and join the chorus of parents, families, teachers, and students who support the freedom to learn. Below you’ll find actions you can take whether you have just a couple minutes today, some more time tomorrow, or are ready to work together in the effort to protect libraries.
Libraries are where visitors can study topics from all sorts of views, where students can find somewhere quiet to study, and where children fall in love with reading, but despite all that, books are still being banned.
Book banning may seem like a thing of the past, but in the 2023-2024 school year, PEN America counted more than 10,000 book bans in public schools, and has documented nearly 16,000 book bans in public schools nationwide since 2021, a number not seen since the Red Scare McCarthy era of the 1950s. And everywhere, it is the books that have long fought for a place on the shelf that are being targeted. Books by authors of color, by LGBTQIA+ authors, by women. Books about racism, sexuality, gender, history and more. PEN America pushes back against censorship and the intolerance and exclusion that undergird it.
In the video, Denberg explains how to viewers can fight for their libraries by getting LOUD, by going to school board meetings, town hall meetings, writing to their representatives, and by voting.
This summer, Hasbro’s Peppa Pig is making waves with a major retail and brand marketing initiative to mark United Nations World Oceans Day, which launched on 8 June. The initiative brings together high-profile ecological, educational and retail partners – including Cleaner Seas Project, Twinkl and George at Asda – to help encourage young families to learn all about our oceans and what they can do to help protect them for future generations.
Educational publisher Twinkl has created free Peppa Pig educational activities and resources to help raise awareness throughout primary schools, early years providers and families at home about the little steps people can take to make a big difference to our seas.
Tackling the issue from the shore itself, Cleaner Seas Project has started its mission to complete a total of 11 beach and river cleans, with schools invited to join events across the UK throughout June.
Retail partner George at Asda is building on the success of last year’s Plant with Peppa environmental education initiative with an exclusive range of clothing and homeware featuring ocean-themed designs sourced with more sustainable materials such as Better Cotton and in some products up to 83% recycled materials. The collection is now available in 435 UK Asda stores and displayed alongside dedicated World Oceans Day POS featuring key product and a QR code directing consumers to the Twinkl resources. Utilising its extensive store footprint, George at Asda’s World Oceans Day range includes boys’ and girls’ clothing, footwear and accessories, with prices starting from £4.50.
Cat O’Brien, Retail Director Europe and Asia at Hasbro, says: “We are thrilled to be working with George again on this Peppa Pig World Oceans Day campaign. At Hasbro, everything we do is centered in our purpose: making the world a better place for all children, fans, and families. In October 2021, we launched our first Peppa Pig purpose-driven campaign all about educating young families around the importance of helping our planet by planting trees. We are excited to embark on the next campaign, which aims to help children learn more about our oceans and what we can do to help reduce litter reaching our shores.”
Supporting the campaign and boosting awareness of the initiative amongst families is celebrity ambassador and mum of three, Vogue Williams, who took to the shore of the River Thames armed with a host of young litter pickers from a local nursery to undertake the brand’s very first Peppa Pig shore clean-up under the guidance of Cleaner Seas Project. Vogue also took part in a media press junket and photoshoot to help spread the word of the initiative across national media on World Oceans Day to motivate young families to get involved.
Avril Greenaway, CMO, Cleaner Seas Project, adds: “It’s no secret that Peppa Pig and her friends are heroes to preschoolers across the UK, so we were absolutely thrilled to work with her and Twinkl to provide guidance on the eco-educational activities and resources as well as carry out the all-important beach and river cleans for this campaign. Our goal is to drive positive change, no matter how big or small, so by working collaboratively with Peppa and Twinkl to help kids take their first steps towards being more environmentally aware has been fantastic. We think this collaboration will be hugely successful and, partnered with Twinkl’s wealth of resources, we think it will provide families with a simple and fun way to get involved to support the cause.”
Jade Snart, Sustainability and Compliance Expert at George, says: “We are very proud to have partnered with Peppa Pig again, this time to help celebrate World Oceans Day, raising awareness of cleaner oceans and a more sustainable planet. A number of the products within the George range have a sustainable element to them as here at George we’re committed to doing the right thing by our customers and the planet.”

Cheers to 15 Yucky Years! ‘Horrid Henry’ Marks a Milestone with Novel Ent.
With the show celebrating the 15th anniversary of its broadcast launch in 2021, we thought it would be ideal timing to explore how Horrid Henry has evolved from a successful line of children’s books to a global multi-media brand spanning TV, film, digital, publishing and L&M.
The fifth season is currently a huge hit on both Netflix and Nickelodeon. At 250 episodes, it is the one of the biggest animated shows ever in the U.K. — and it continues to grow internationally, currently airing in over 100 territories. Horrid Henry’s first feature-length animation Gross Day Out was a huge hit when it aired on Netflix last summer.
Most recently, Novel Entertainment quickly responded to the pandemic and subsequent lockdown, curating a program of online activity for children. Harnessing the brand’s popularity, Novel delivered resources and activities to support the emotional well-being of children during the pandemic with new content, a podcast, audio stories, online activities and a virtual summer festival, alongside a series of shorts to help raise awareness of the NSPCC’s Childline service.
The brand is also at the heart of a successful licensing and merchandising program, and also has an impressive digital presence, with the Horrid Henry YouTube channel hitting an impressive 1 billion views last year.
Novel Entertainment Co-Founders Mike Watts, CEO, and Lucinda Whiteley, Creative Director, recently answered some questions about the enduring success on this gloriously gross brand and picked out a few bogeys of wisdom to share:
Congrats on the anniversary of the amazing Henry … How does it feel to be celebrating the big 15th of the show’s launch?
Mike Watts: Fantastic! Every producer hopes their characters will have a long and happy life, but as we all know it’s not easy! We spent three years developing the show and being told it wouldn’t work until ITV ordered the first series in 2006 (thank you Steven Andrew and Estelle Hughes!) and we’ve been producing new material ever since.
Why do you think the show has been such a favorite?
Lucinda Whiteley: The TV show is based on a set of classic books with a stereotypical cast of kids; we set out to make a long-running series with three dimensional stories and believable and well-rounded characters, and what we now have is a family sitcom which is authentic, speaks to its audience and is, above all, funny!
What is next for Henry?
Mike: Like so many of our colleagues, we’ve been hugely busy over the past year, pivoting into what our audience were experiencing and joining them on their own unique journeys. In the early lockdown days we made a series of scratch YouTube videos which went straight to the heart of what it meant to be in hibernation, and we’re currently finishing off a series of shorts which will together make up a brand new special. We’ve also just put two new animated Henry projects into development, there’s a new gaming app in production, and we’re launching the first of many e-books and about to recordour 100th audiobook.
How do you keep the show fresh and relevant?
Lucinda: By listening. To our audience primarily, but also to what’s happening in the world, and making sure that we not only reflect this but that we’re also leading the way in terms of what’s really important to them.
What would you say is Novel’s biggest challenges vis-a-vis the property?
Lucinda: Running with our audience, which is wide and very varied; some of the kids who started out with Henry are young adults now, and that’s reflected in his popularity on social media. Also, keeping Henry authentic whilst keeping him (and his friends, family and foes) up to date and relevant.
What are some of your favorite reactions to Henry’s projects over these 15 years?
Mike: Angelica Huston saying that she signed up to be Miss Battle-Axe in our movie (which was the U.K.’s first ever family release in 3D) because the script made her laugh out loud, being the first British kids’ show on Netflix U.K., finding a new home at Nickelodeon, meeting the first night audience of the stage play and seeing Wayne and Coleen Rooney’s two boys both dressed as TV Henry for World Book Day; all were amazing, but mostly it’s the fantastic fans, who talk to us every day and tell us how much they love the show.
What kind of advice would you give creators who want to stay true to the spirit of their own property?
Lucinda: Be curious, experiment and explore; we’ve been able to expand into so many different areas and each time we’ve found an innovative way to bring the spirit of Henry to those iterations whilst creating something new, lasting and relevant.
Work with the best; our wonderful cast of voice actors have been with us since the very beginning and we’re fortunate enough to be able to create with amazing directors, editors, designers, board artists and music composers. Our animation studio is fantastic and our development and support team superb; being able to work with all these creative souls is an inspiration and a huge incentive to carry on making the magic!
What is your take on the children’s animation scene in 2021?
Mike: We’re seeing an incredibly vibrant scene – new shows across all styles of animation which are catering for different and diverse sectors of the audience – long may this last, it’s a great time to be in animation!

‘Big Inspiration for Little Piggies’ campaign will encourage families to celebrate the Tokyo Olympics.
Hasbro has today (Thursday 23rd July 2020) unveiled a collaboration with Team GB in the UK, which will see Peppa Pig join the British Olympic team as a special children’s ambassador in time for the biggest sporting event of 2021, the Tokyo Olympics!
Hasbro’s new Big Inspiration for Little Piggies campaign has been developed to get kids moving and into the spirit of the Tokyo Olympics – which has been rescheduled from 2020 to next year due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic – by encouraging them to cheer on their favourite national athletes. The campaign will be underpinned by a busy roster of raft of live events, retail activations, digital content and bespoke merchandise.
“With a year to go until the Olympics, there couldn’t be a better time to inspire young kids and their families to get active” said Hasbro’s Marianne James, VP EMEA Consumer Products. “Our Big Inspiration for Little Piggies campaign is a great opportunity to tap into the enormous interest surrounding the Olympics. It will support the Team GB athletes and nurture a lifelong love of sports in the younger generation that will leave a lasting legacy.”
Licensing partners are in place across consumer product categories including toys, apparel and accessories, stationery, home gifting and publishing. The campaign will span multiple touchpoints with a brand-new bespoke style guide, featuring innovative new designs that put Peppa and her friends at the centre of the action. The guide will feature sporting outfits and active wear to inspire a range of Team GB licensed merchandise for children, placing the preschool brand in good company with Team GB’s official mascot, Pride The Lion.
New branded content is also being developed across digital channels that will harness the popularity of Peppa Pig and Team GB by encouraging children and families to take advantage of the global sporting event and promote an active, healthy lifestyle.
Throughout summer 2021, Hasbro will be readying a packed calendar of interactive marketing activities that will see Peppa Pig model her very own Team GB kit at various events across the country, sports-related meet-and-greets, experiential displays, retail activations and fun competitions hosted at multiple locations.
The collaboration will kick off with a digital presence in Team GB’s inspired community campaign ‘I Am Team GB’ from 23rd – 30th July, which aims to capitalise on the should-have-been Olympic buzz and fire kids enthusiasm about getting active with Peppa Pig.
