First Look at the New 'The Casagrandes' Logo | Nickelodeon

Storyboard artist Miguel Puga, who is currently storyboarding Nickelodeon's upcoming The Loud House spin-off series The Casagrandes, has unveiled a first-look at the show's brand-new logo on his official Instagram!:

Boom! New The Casagrandes logo reveal! You’re welcome. #thecasagrandes #nickelodeon #theloudhouse #cartoon #animation #ronnieannesantiago #bobbysantiago #bobbybooboobear

Premiering in October 2019, this companion to the animated hit The Loud House follows 11-year-old Ronnie Anne after she moves to the city with her older brother Bobby and her mom, where they now live with their big, loving and chaotic multigenerational Mexican-American family, the Casagrandes. Nickelodeon greenlit the series for an initial 20 episodes in July 2018, following the continued success of The Loud House.

"Nickelodeon is proud to expand The Loud House universe by offering a new perspective on family life with Los Casagrandes," said Chris Viscardi, who was Nickelodeon's Senior Vice President (SVP) of Animation Production and Development at the time of the announcement. "There's no better time than today to tell stories about a kid growing up in a loving, multi-generational, diverse family." Chris has now moved into a producer role for the network, overseeing the creation of feature-length animated content for both Nickelodeon and third-party digital and linear platforms.

The Casagrandes features Ronnie Anne and her brother Bobby Santiago as they adjust to their new life in Great Lakes City, where they now live with their big, loving and chaotic multi-generational family, the Casagrandes. In the series, Ronnie Anne makes new friends, build stronger bonds with her relatives and explores the endless possibilities of city life. Bobby helps Grandpa Hector run the family's corner store, and becomes familiar with the neighborhood's quirky characters.

The Casagrande family was first introduced in the The Loud House special, "The Loudest Mission: Relative Chaos," which was recently nominated for an Imagen Award. The family will continue to appear throughout The Loud House season three, currently airing on Nickelodeon, and will be featured in a five-episode arc in season four. The Loud House centers on 11-year-old Lincoln Loud and his ten sisters as he gives an inside look at what it takes to survive the chaos of a huge family.

The Loud House is co-executive produced by Mike Rubiner (KaBlam!), who will also serve as co-executive producer on The Casagrandes alongside producer Karen Malach. Award-winning cartoonist Lalo Alcaraz (Coco) will serve as a cultural consultant and consulting producer for the five-episode arc of The Loud House featuring the Casagrandes.

Chelsea Holt serves as a storyboarder, Nicolas "Nic" Parris is serving as a Storyboard Artist.

For more information on The Loud House, visit Nick.com, the Nick App, Instagram and the Facebook page. Episodes of The Loud House are available on Nick On Demand, Nick.com, and the Nick App, and for download on iOS, Apple TV, Amazon Fire TV, Roku, Android, and Android TV. Episodes are also available for purchase on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Vudu, Xbox, PlayStation and Verizon. Nickelodeon to Premiere 'Glitch Techs' in 2019; Halts Production on Season 2 [Updated 1/27]

The latest news updates about Nickelodeon's upcoming animated series Glitch Techs.

Update (1/8/2019): Production crew are reporting on social media that Nickelodeon today (Tuesday, January 8, 2019) unfortunately halted production of Glitch Techs. The crew were in the midst of production of season two. However, as the show has yet to premiere, Nickelodeon wants to air the show before spending more money on it - even if that means losing the whole crew. Evan Palmer, who broke the news on Twitter, stressed that the show has not been cancelled at this point, just that production has been halted. It has also been revealed that the first season is nearly complete, and it is still set to air during 2019. Following the news breaking, production crew working on Glitch Techs paid tribute to the show on social media. A selection of posts can be read below.

Update (1/10): Eric Robles, the co-creator of Glitch Techs, has reiterated in a post on Instagram that Glitch Techs has NOT been cancelled:

"I want to thank you all for reaching out in support of Dan, myself and the Glitch Techs team. To clear any bad air, please know Glitch Techs is not cancelled. As I write this, we are in production, getting amazing animation back from Europe and Asia. Let me also speak from the heart when I say that Nickelodeon Animation has been nothing but supportive in ensuring Dan and myself the freedom to create an original and unique IP in a time where these types of projects are few and far between. As most of you know, until a show actually airs most studios will only grant a writing pick up for your series and only IF they feel good about the show’s chances. So in our case, we were deeply grateful when Nickelodeon saw fit to pick up an extra half-season production order. This kept our amazing team of artists and designers together longer than we ever could have expected.. As you can guess, producing animated shows, (particularly with ambitious and dynamic action sequences,) can get very expensive. As we hit the new year still being an untested show and with money needed for brand new content, we were told the business decision was for the network to launch our series with 20 gorgeous episodes for you and kids at home to respond to. Although our crew’s abrupt dismissal this past week was a terrible shock, we remain so grateful for the time they were able to devote to our second season episodes. We can only hope that when the show finally airs and reaches its audience, production on the remainder of our half season (and hopefully more,) can resume. As a kid growing up, I always dreamt of working and sharing ideas with people as talented as our crew and now I find myself having had the privilege to work with them every single day for the last two and a half years. I cannot express how much fun it has been to create this show and know it is going to have an impact when we share it with the world. I can’t stress how important it is for our industry to support each other and those who support original ideas. Please keep following me for future updates on Nickelodeon’s Glitch Techs and thank you all for reading this.
~Robles"

Additionally, board artist Phil J. also posted this comment on YouTube about the current production status of the show:

Nickelodeon Has Reportedly Decided to Cancel 'Nella the Princess Knight'

A crew member on Nickelodeon's Nella The Princess Knight has reportedly revealed the unfortunate news that Nickelodeon has decided to cancel and not renew the network's popular animated preschool series for a third season. Please note that this news has yet to be confirmed.

Nella the Princess Knight

In Nella the Princess Knight, preschoolers set off on thrilling adventures in a kingdom far away where there lives a… Princess Knight! Nickelodeon's animated preschool series follows Nella, an unconventional 8-year-old who possesses the royal qualities of a princess, like compassion and grace, while also embodying the courage and determination of a brave knight. Whenever a problem arises, Nella embarks on daring quests to save her kingdom through her unique ability to transform from a princess into Nella the Princess Knight, protecting her kingdom with the help of her friends: Trinket, Nella’s glamorous unicorn and best friend; Sir Garrett, a loyal and adventurous knight; and Clod, Garrett’s trusty steed. The series features a social-emotional curriculum promoting self-confidence, inclusiveness and compassion for others.

Created by Christine Ricci (Blaze and the Monster Machines, Dora the Explorer) and produced by Manchester, UK-based Brown Bag Films, the 100% UK production was commissioned in September 2014 as Nickelodeon and Milkshake, the preschool programming block of Viacom's then newly acquired Channel 5, first co-production under Viacom ownership. The series made its world debut on Nickelodeon in the US on Monday 6th February 2017, with a global roll-out following soon after, including on Nick Jr. UK & Ireland and Milkshake. Robert Vargas (Zack and Quack) serves as an executive producer on the series.

Originally commissioned for a 40-episode first season, a 20-episode second season was commissioned in May 2017, however, it's currently unknown whether these episodes are a addition to the first 40 episodes, or if Nickelodeon split the first season into two 20-episode seasons. The season one finale, "The Unicorn Rescue" aired on Wednesday, November 21 on Nick Jr. USA.

Update (12/5): "The Unicorn Rescue" was the season two premiere episode for Nella The Princess Knight, which means that even though the series isn't being renewed, at least 19 new episodes will still continue to air throughout the next year!

Nickelodeon Renews 'Pinky Malinky' For Season 2

Pinky Malinky co-creator Rikke Asbjoern has announced the very exciting news in a post on her official Instagram page, @fattywhale, that Nickelodeon has renewed Pinky Malinky for a second season, ahead of the shows debut, and that the crew are working hard on season two at the moment!

Pinky Malinky is a brand-new fly-on-the-wall reality show that follows the everyday life of Pinky, an infectiously positive hot dog living in a human world. With his best friends Babs and JJ by his side, Pinky reaches for the stars in the small town of Sackenhack. Through his good spirits and sausage sensibilities, Pinky proves that a "wiener" is only one small letter away from being a "WINNER!"

Using the tropes of a mockumentary and reality show format, Pinky and his friends will talk directly to the camera and the audience to share their absurd and silly take on real life. At times, all children feel like they don't fit in and Pinky's undeniably unique point of view as a literal wiener amongst humans will allow kids to laugh at his familiar struggles and enjoy his unusual perspective on the challenges of being a school-aged kid. By always reaching for the stars, Pinky pushes himself further than anyone could imagine. Pinky and his friends' humorous experiences will also be shared across social media and Nickelodeon's digital platforms.

Check out the Pinky Malinky theme song!:

Co-created and co-executive produced by Chris Garbutt and Rikke Asbjoern (The Amazing World of Gumball) and executive produced by Scott Kreamer (Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness), the trio are a part of the Artist Collective, an internal diverse group of experienced creators who mentor and support up-and-coming talent while also collaborating to cultivate, challenge and inspire Nickelodeon's development pipeline.

Pinky Malinky will star Lucas Grabeel (Glenn Martin DDS, I Kissed A Vampire) as Pinky Malinky, Diamond White (The Haunted Hathaways) as Babs Buttman, and Nathan Kress (iCarly) as JJ Jameson.

Produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studios in Burbank, Calif., the original animated series will join Nickelodeon's growing roster of content driven by creators discovered all over the world.

Pinky Malinky will premiere on Nickelodeon in 2018.

Nickelodeon Exec Ross McGraw and His Wife Jordi Lippe-McGraw Announce Their Pregnancy

A couple that promised each other that they would visit all seven continents before having children just announced their pregnancy — in Antarctica!

Travel writer Jordi Lippe-McGraw and her husband Ross McGraw, Director of Partner Marketing, New Business at Nickelodeon and Viacom and a top internationally ranked Team USA triathlete, posted a picture of themselves — and a wandering penguin — at a volcano to share the news on Instagram and Facebook.

It is the last continent that New York Upper West Siders Lippe-McGraw, 31, and McGraw, 32 — high-school sweethearts who got married in 2015 — had to check off the list.

“Ross and I have always loved traveling and have been lucky enough to see a lot of amazing places together,” says Lippe-McGraw, who occasionally contributes to The New York Post. “Before we got married, we decided to make a pact to visit all the continents before having children as a fun challenge. Antarctica happened to be the last, a trip we planned two years earlier, and I happened to be pregnant. So, what better way to announce it?”

The pair reached the far-flung destination by flying to Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Jan. 12, then taking a flight to Ushuaia, Argentina — the southernmost city in the world — and then boarding a boat through the Drake Passage to Antarctica.

The baby is more well-traveled than most adults, having already been to nine countries, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Italy, Argentina and Antarctica.

And there’s more to come: The couple plan on going to Peru in February for a Amazon river cruise.

Congrats Jordi and Ross!! :)

Here’s What The Cast Of Nickelodeon’s ‘Unfabulous’ Look Like Now, 10 Years Later

Today, NickALive! celebrates the 10th anniversary of the final episode of Nickelodeon’s hit musical comedy series Unfabulous, which starred Emma Roberts and ran for 41 episodes over three seasons from 2004 to Dec. 16, 2007. The series, which followed the the lives of music-loving teenager Addie (Roberts) and her friends, ended 10 years ago with an hour-long TV movie, “The Best Trip Ever.”

Emma Roberts starred as Addie on Nickelodeon’s “Unfabulous” from 2004 to 2007. Photo: Nickelodeon

Fellow Nickelodeon shows that ran during the same time as Unfabulous were series such as Drake & Josh, Ned’s Declassified, Romeo! and Zoey 101. Clearly, the show was in great company.

Most of these shows wrapped around the same time, making room for a new wave of Nickelodeon programs. While the shows the shows that followed were and are just as amazing, it’s important to celebrate each important era of Nick television, and today, that celebration belongs to one era, and one series, in particular.

Unfabulous kicked off Roberts’ career and proved that shows could include music without it having to be a high-class production. The show’s “Unfabulous and More” CD was a hit, and it gave middle schoolers the escape they needed, while also allowing them to realize they’re not alone in their situations of friend fights, first crushes and bullies.

Fans have the far-from-unfabulous cast to greatly thank for all of that, as well as creator Sue Rose. In the 10 years since the show wrapped, the actors and actresses involved have only gone on to prove just how wonderful of a launch show this was. Check out where they are now.

“We thought the show was good, but it didn’t seem any more or less remarkable than any the other shows being made. So to see it have such great staying power, and to see the fans that were Arnold’s age when the show was new grow up and become artists and animators and write really eloquently about it, is astounding.” -Hey Arnold! creator Craig Bartlett.

As the leader of the journey, Arnold must make sure he and his friends survive safely, all while working towards a reunion he’s dreamt of his whole life!

The two-hour TV movie features a storyline that picks up from where the original series ended in the "The Journal" in 2004 and resolves unanswered questions and plotlines-including Arnold finally getting answers about the whereabouts of his missing parents, Arnold's last name, and how Arnold feels about Helga! Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie takes the kids on the field trip of a lifetime: action packed and full of adventure! They’ll join Arnold on a quest in which he’ll try to achieve his ultimate dream and finally find his missing parents. It all starts when Arnold and his classmates take a trip to San Lorenzo, South America, which, coincidentally, is the last place Arnold’s parents were seen! Their trip takes a turn when pirates kidnap Arnold and his friends! From there it’s one jungle hazard after another, and the gang must put their heads together to get out of danger.

The movie is co-written and executive produced by the series’ original creator Craig Bartlett and produced by Nickelodeon in Burbank, Calif.

Hey Arnold! The Jungle Movie will premiere on Friday, Nov. 24, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon USA, as part of the networks Thanksgiving celebrations.
