'DORA' Season Five Premieres On Nick Jr. Internationally [UPDATE: 'DORA' Renewed For Season Six]

Dora the Explorer returns with brand new episodes of DORA, starting Saturday, June 6 at 10:00 a.m. (ET/PT) on the Nick Jr. channel! In a surprising move, it seems that the new episodes will include the launch of season five of Nickelodeon's hit CG-animated Paramount+ Original preschool series. (SEE BELOW FOR UPDATES)

'DORA' key art

As mentioned above, this is a bit of a surprise, as Nickelodeon and Paramount+ canceled the series, a reimagining of Nickelodeon's iconic Latina heroine, last November amid a programming strategy shift at Paramount. Whilst the fifth season was already produced, Paramount was seeking to shop the season elsewhere, however, it looks like they've had a change of heart.

Another reason why this is a bit of a surprise is, although season four premiered on Paramount+ in December (and shortly afterwards on Nickelodeon channels internationally), it hasn't yet aired on Nickelodeon's linear TV channels in the U.S., and it seems that it may be being skipped altogether.

The official logline for DORA season five reads:

There's more to explore with DORA! Join Dora, the world's greatest exploradora, and her best friend Boots in a series of amazing adventures, from saving the Winter Festival, to rescuing whales with Diego - even meeting Boots's grandpa, Grandpa Boots!

Update (6/7): Unfortunately, it looks like Nickelodeon has pulled the new episodes of DORA as the last minute.

Update (6/12): Nickelodeon has renewed DORA for season six!:

'DORA' Season Six

Today is the Winter Wonderfest! For the festival to start, Dora and Boots must find the magical Ice Crystal Torch and light up the top of the snow volcano. They slide across Ice-Skate Lake, ski down Candy Cane Canyon, and dash through Crystal Cave before finding the torch. With Backpack's help, Dora and Boots ride a rocket sled back to their friends just in time to start the festival. The Winter Wonderfest is saved! // Dora, Boots, Benny and Mito are building sandcastles on the beach when their friend Rosa the Dolphin swims by. Rosa hears that Mito is from Snowy Mountain and shares that her biggest dream is to see snow. She wants to build snowmen, go sledding, and throw snowballs with her friends! Dora vows to help Rosa, and transports her to the top of Snowy Mountain in Benny's bathtub! On the way, Dora, Boots, Mito and Rosa bounce on rebota blooms, fly across a canyon, and swim up Rápido River before making it to the top. The snow is everything Rosa ever dreamed of, and everyone celebrates!

Dora and Boots work together to stop the snowballs and save Benny's snow castle, Tico and Bip Bip's snow sculpture, and Isa's ice garden in time for the show. All the art looks snow-mazing, and everyone helps Dora and Boots make a new snowman for show! // Dora and Boots are getting ready for snowy Sports Day when Swiper tries to swipe all the athletes' golden medals, sending them flying off down Snowy Mountain. Dora and Boots race to retrieve the medals before Swiper, bobsledding down an icy slide, playing hockey with reindeer on a frozen pond, and even ski jumping across the sky. Thanks to their snowy skills, Dora and Boots get all the medals back and save Sports Day - and even inspire Swiper to earn medals the right way: with practice!

With Map's guidance, Dora, Boots, and Camila search the Rainforest to find Tío Alberto, cousin Mirta, and sister Monica, each stuck in amusing situations at different locations. They travel through Gigantic Garden, up Queso Cliffs, and across Platano Island to rescue them. Once reunited, Camila and Dora's families celebrate by making arepas together. // For their anniversary, Papi plans to surprise Mami with a picnic at sunset, alfajor cookies, and a song on his favorite guitar, recreating their first date. However, as he shares the plan with Dora and Boots, he realizes he forgot the cookies and rushes out, accidentally breaking his guitar. To save the surprise, Dora and Boots venture through Musical Forest to find Francisco the Flamingo, who repairs the guitar. They deliver it just in time for Mami and Papi's special celebration.

Abuela's Abuela / Happy Heart Day: Dora and Boots help Abuela find a lost, family heirloom that belonged to Abuela's Abuela. // Dora and Boots help Hearty the Grumple deliver Heart Day cards to Grumpy Old Troll. (#505)

When Dora learns from Abuela that her great-great-grandmother was also an explorer, she embarks on a journey to find her ancestor's lost butterfly necklace. With Abuela, Boots, and the help of a flying Alebrije, Dora ventures through the rainforest to Mariposa Mountain, where they locate the necklace, though its butterfly is missing. Using her ingenuity, Dora brings the butterfly drawings on the walls to life and finds the one that completes the necklace, bringing joy to Abuela as they celebrate together. // While making cards for Heart Day, Dora and Boots meet Hearty the Grumple, who needs help delivering a card to Grumpy Old Troll. Together, they travel through Troll World to Corazón Island, where they find the Troll hiding because he fears no one made him a card. After dancing the Harumph Hop to cheer him up, the Troll is thrilled to receive his cards and even makes some for Dora, Boots, and Hearty. They all celebrate Heart Day with joy and friendship!

They bake a giant cake at Tico's Workshop, recruit DJ Tortuga for lively music, and even find magical balloon animals on their way to Party Peak. Party the Grumple is deeply moved and thrilled by the effort, calling it the best birthday party ever! // While playing moonlight soccer with Tico and Bip Bip, Dora and Boots accidentally shrink the moon, La Luna, with Tico's resize-a-nator, causing her to fall from the sky. Now the size of a volleyball, La Luna needs their help to return to space and regain her size. Dora, Boots, and Tico navigate a ball-spewing volcano, fly into space with Tico's rocket, and dodge cookie comets before using the resize-a-nator to restore La Luna. Overjoyed to be back, she shines brighter than ever, lighting up the night sky.

Funana! / A Goal For Benny: Dora helps Boots earn tickets at the carnival so he can win the banana toy of his dreams: the Funana! // Dora and Boots help Benny learn new Spanish words so he can play soccer with his Spanish-speaking cousin Fernando. (#507)

Dora and Boots are celebrating Carnival Day when Boots discovers the coolest prize ever: a "funana"! Boots loves that it can sing, dance, and play music, but he realizes he needs three more carnival tickets to win it. Dora offers to help and together they head through the carnival catching robo-duckies in a fishing pond, playing grumple ski-ball with Grumpy Old Troll, and winning Big Red Chicken's hay bale game. Boots gets enough tickets to win the last funana - and when he realizes that Bonita the Owl wants one too, he shares his prize with her so they can all play together! // Dora and Boots are playing soccer with Benny when his cousin Fernando calls and invites him to play on his team. Simón the Alebrije Sloth is excited to get super speed, but the wind carries his speedy leaf away and he gets stretchy powers instead! Dora, Boots and Simón race to get the speedy leaf back so Simón can change his power. They use Simon's stretchy arms and legs to dodge hangry fish, fan away fog, even get the leaf back from Swiper. When it's finally time to switch his powers, Simón changes his mind. Turns out he loves being a super stretchy sloth!

In the first all-new DORA episode, "Mami Day/Pet Day," Dora travels across the rainforest to get a gift for Mami. Along the way, she helps her friends make gifts for their mommies too. Details For Upcoming New 'SpongeBob' Season 16 & Season 17 Episodes Unveiled

Details for a raft of upcoming brand new episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants episodes have emerged!

SpongeBob SquarePants

Fresh from celebrating its landmark 25th anniversary, details about the upcoming 16th season of SpongeBob SquarePants have been revealed!

Season 16 of Nickelodeon's beloved animated series will bring fans much more of the zany humor the long-running series has become renowned for, as well as callbacks to earlier SpongeBob episodes.

Interestingly, Nickelodeon is currently set to premiere the first episode from SpongeBob season 16 on Nicktoons on Wednesday, June 11, however, this is most likely a scheduling error that will be rectified closer to the broadcast date. If not, this would make season 16 the first new season of SpongeBob to premiere on Nicktoons in the U.S.

The new episode currently scheduled for June 11 is "Bizarro Bottom/Squidward's Tough Break". In "Bizarro Bottom", SpongeBob falls asleep on the bus and ends up in a strange town full of Bikini Bottom doppelgangers. Then in "Squidward's Tough Break", after Squidward loses his memory, he adopts a new tough guy persona. (#320)

Season 16 of SpongeBob will make its Nickelodeon debut on Friday, June 27. 2025 at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT) with the special "SpongeBob and Patrick's Timeline Twist-Up," where, when Patrick's time closet goes on the fritz, SpongeBob's history is re-written by time traveling interlopers. (#323-#324)

This season contains episodes from the first half of the show's fifteenth production season, however, Nickelodeon and Paramount have since started to cut new seasons into halves. This is to keep their sizes more consistent with the season lengths currently consumed on streaming services, such as Paramount+, where all shows ultimately end up.

‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ Season 2 & Season 3 Episode Titles Revealed

Season 2 will be one episode lighter than season 1 but will be slightly longer.

A Still From 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' Season Two

The journey to the Earth Kingdom is going to be a little shorter than first expected—at least on paper, our friends over at WoNetflix are reporting.

Earlier this month, Knight Edge Media recently pulled back the curtain on the highly anticipated second season of Netflix's hit live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender adaptation, revealing the episode count and titles. Much like other returning Netflix heavyweights, we’re seeing a slight reduction in the number of chapters, but there is a major silver lining for those worried about the story being rushed.

According to a new report from Caleb Williams—a consistently reliable source for Avatarverse news across both live-action and animation—Season 2 will consist of only 7 episodes, down from the 8-episode order of the first season. This “slimmer” season trend has become fairly common recently, with other Netflix hits like Ransom Canyon and 3 Body Problem also pivoting toward more condensed storytelling.

But before you grab your pitchforks, there is some good news: while the episode count is down, the report states the total runtime is actually expected to be longer than Season 1, which clocked in at 430 minutes (7 hours and 10 minutes).

Alongside the count, we now have the official titles for the upcoming season, which provide our first look at the writers’ room for "Book 2: Earth":

  • Episode 1: Somewhere Safe (Written by: Christine Boylan)
  • Episode 2: A Fight, Once Begun (Written by: Phinneas Kiyomura)
  • Episode 3: City of Walls and Secrets (Written by: Helen Shang)
  • Episode 4: The Water Falls, the Stones Emerge (Written by: Teresa Huang)
  • Episode 5: Ten Thousand Things (Written by: Gabriel Llanas)
  • Episode 6: The Parable of the Two Dragons (Written by: Keely MacDonald)
  • Episode 7: Something Broken (Written by: Christine Boylan & Gabriel Llanas)

Update (5/6) - The episode titles for the third and final season of Avatar: The Last Airbender have been revealed! As with season 2 of the live-action series, season 3 will also consist of 7 episodes. Be warned: spoilers ahead.

The season 3 episode titles include:

  • Episode 1: The Khandul (Written by: Helen Shang)
  • Episode 2: Eight Minutes (Written by: Teresa Huang)
  • Episode 3: Spirit of All Nations (Written by: Emily Kim)
  • Episode 4: Ghosts of the Old World (Written by: Keely MacDonald)
  • Episode 5: Fire Remakes the World (Written by: Christine Boylan)
  • Episode 6: Two Islands (Written by: Phinneas Kiyomura)
  • Episode 7: All Who Stand Against the Flame (Written by: Gabriel Llanas) - series finale

If those titles look a little “out of order” to you, you aren’t alone. The live-action adaptation is significantly reshaping the original animated timeline. As a reminder, the official synopsis for Season 2 sees Aang, Katara, and Sokka regrouping after the North Pole to convince the elusive Earth King to join the fight against Fire Lord Ozai.

The most shocking revelation here is that the gang arrives in Ba Sing Se as early as Episode 3 ("City of Walls and Secrets"). In the original series, they didn’t reach the capital until the final third of the season. Knight Edge Media speculates this shift is primarily financial: Ba Sing Se was constructed as a massive, expensive real-life set, and production needed to maximize its use across the season to justify the cost.

The titles also hint at when we will meet key characters. Episode 2 ("A Fight, Once Begun") is a direct nod to a quote from the Earthbending academy in the original series, suggesting that Miya Cech’s Toph Beifong will join the team much earlier than in the animation. Episode 5 ("Ten Thousand Things") refers to the spirit owl Wan Shi Tong (whose name means “He who knows ten thousand things”), confirming that the Library arc happens after the heroes have already visited the city.

This raises a massive question regarding "Appa’s Lost Days". In the original Nickelodeon series, the loss of Appa at the Library was the catalyst that drove the search in Ba Sing Se. With the Library now following the city arrival, the narrative sequence of Aang finding the “Day of Black Sun” intel—and losing his flying bison—is being completely reimagined. Finally, the finale title "Something Broken" points toward a dark conclusion, likely mirroring the fall of Ba Sing Se and the literal breaking of the Avatar Cycle seen in the original "Crossroads of Destiny".

Another intriguing episode title of all is that of the penultimate episode, "The Parable of the Two Dragons." The cartoon featured a few pairs of dragons to whom this title could possibly refer, such as those who appeared in Zuko's fever dream from "The Earth King" or the ones from "The Avatar and the Fire Lord." But the most intriguing possibility is that "The Parable of the Two Dragons" will revolve around a major event in Uncle Iroh's life that the cartoon mentioned but never portrayed.

The Season 3 episode "The Firebending Masters" saw Zuko and Aang seek out the ancient Sun Warrior civilization to learn the true nature of firebending, which had been corrupted by the Fire Nation over the years. This culminated in a trial overseen by the ancient dragons Ran and Shaw. Dragons were previously thought to be extinct, with Zuko claiming that Iroh had killed the last dragon, but the Sun Warrior chieftain revealed that Iroh had once passed the same trial and lied to prevent dragon slayers from hunting down Ran and Shaw.

Seeing Iroh's interactions with the Sun Warriors and the dragons would be truly fascinating, especially for long-time fans of the franchise. More so than most other characters in The Last Airbender, Iroh underwent a major character shift. He was once the Crown Prince of the Fire Nation and a ruthless general in the Hundred Year War, but after the death of his son Lu Ten, he became a wise and peaceful mentor for Zuko.

The audience was not privy to most of this transformation, so the live-action series has a chance to reveal more details about Iroh's evolution into the character fans know and love. The dragons' trial would surely be a key factor in his shifting worldview.

The people of the Fire Nation saw their element as a destructive force, so they valued strength and aggression. But the Sun Warriors realized that fire also represented life. Iroh must have taken this lesson to heart, or else he never could have passed Ran and Shaw's evaluation.

No official release date has been set beyond a 2026 window. It is also worth noting that Season 3 was filmed near enough back-to-back with Season 2 to maintain the cast’s ages, though an episode count for that final chapter remains under wraps.

More on ATLA season three:

As you might have noticed, most of the first half of season 3 of the original series will be either cut out entirely or reshuffled for the live-action adaptation. Given that the story will jump right into “The Day of Black Sun” during episode 2. The writing team already did this in season 2, when the team arrived at Ba Sing Se by episode 3 rather than at the end of the season. It should be expected that episodes like “The Painted Lady”, “The Runaway” or “Nightmares & Daydreams” might be omitted completely due to time constraints, though that is pure speculation.

'Max & the Midknights' season one key art

Based on the best-selling children's books by acclaimed author and cartoonist Lincoln Peirce (Big Nate), the medieval action-adventure comedy series follows Max, a determined 10-year-old girl with big dreams of becoming a knight, as she leads her friends on epic adventures filled with excitement, bravery, and lots of fun.

The Adventure So Far

Throughout the show's freshman series, Max leads the rest of the Midknights on challenging quests filled with all-new original songs. After King Gastley steals the throne and forces an unjust rule on the Kingdom of Byjovia, Max must come to the rescue to overthrow the power-hungry foe. With her friends and Uncle Budrick by her side, Max’s courageous spirit won’t back down no matter how difficult the quest gets.

Then, in season two, after defeating Fendra and Gastley, Max & The Midknights are living their best lives in Byjovia. Max is in training in knight school, Kevyn runs the royal library, Simon helps animals in need, Millie is in training with Mumblin, and Uncle Budrick is the royal troubadour. Although things seem perfect, Max is itching to go on another quest. When a wild beast known as a Clatterback shows up in Byjovia and threatens to do major damage, Max saves the day, making it even more apparent that she really wants to be out on the road helping people. Her desire for a new adventure is answered when Queen Nerelia of Tresk shows up begging for help.

Monday 27th April 2026 - Gnomeward Bound: Max & the Midknights have a breakthrough in their quest when they meet a runaway Gnome, but finding the other kidnapped Gnomes is trickier than they think. (S3, ep 6)

Wednesday 29th April 2026 - Shale Break: The Midknights pull out all the stops to get the Gnomes of Tresk to safety - but not everything goes according to plan. Mumblin tries to escape Outpost 71. (S3, ep 8)

Thursday 30th April 2026 - A False Victory: Max & the Midknights victoriously return to Byjovia, but is their mission finished? Millie and Kevyn's sibling rivalry hits a low point when Millie reveals a major secret. (S3, ep 9)

Friday 1st May 2026 - Tomb of the Bodkin: Max and the Midknights journey to an ancient tomb to investigate the legend of King Torin and his Bodkin, where they make several unexpected discoveries. (S3, ep 10; season three finale)

Together, the group accomplishes nearly everything that they set their mind to achieve.

Alongside the Midknights, Jeremy Rowley (iCarly) lends his voice as Uncle Budrick, Max’s lovably silly parental figure and professional troubadour, Gary Anthony Williams (Central Park) voices Mumblin, a famous retired magician who helps guide the Midknights on their quests, Brian Stepanek (The Loud House) voices King Gastley, the nefarious ruler of Byjovia, willing to do whatever it takes to maintain his throne, and India de Beaufort (It’s Pony) voices Fendra, a dark sorceress working for King Gastley.

The Louds and Clyde are setting off for a fun-filled adventure at summer camp in brand new episodes of The Loud House, starting Friday, August 1 on Nickelodeon!

'The Loud House' cast with logo

In the all-new The Loud House "Summer Camp" story arc, dubbed "Summer Adventures," the Loud family and Clyde arrive for a fun-filled summer at Camp Mastodon.

The Loud House "Summer Camp" story arc will debut on Friday, August 1 at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon, with the storyline expected to continue every Friday at 7:00 p.m. (ET/PT). Each episode will lead in to the latest episode of Wylde Pak at 7:30 p.m. (ET/PT).

The second episode in the story arc will also serve as the show's 10th season premiere episode. As these episodes were produced before Nickelodeon begun splitting seasons of 26 episodes into two to match the number of episodes in a season on streaming services, season nine features the latter half of the episodes originally produced as part of season eight, whilst season 10 features the first half of episodes originally produced for season nine.

Interestingly, the "Summer Camp" story arc will also mark the first time a story arc starts at the end of one season of the Loud House, then carries on over to the beginning of the next season.

Additionally, thanks to The Loud House Encyclopedia, we have details about the episodes featured in The Loud House season nine, as well as the first episodes of the show's 10th season!
