In Brief: Nickelodeon is reportedly working on a currently unannounced video game! According to the recent Achievements leak at Valve-owned Steam, Nickelodeon is planning a new multi-IP video game. As it's not been officially announced yet, nothing is known about the game, however, it'll reportedly be a Nickelodeon version of Animal Crossing and Disney Dreamlight Valley, with accompanying images for the achievements featuring Mr. Krabs and the Flying Dutchman from SpongeBob SquarePants and Reptar from Rugrats. Craig Bartlett Confirms That Are Currently No Talks for a 'Hey Arnold!' Revival [UPDATE]

Hey Arnold! writer and producer Joe Purdy set the record straight on whether the classic Nickelodeon show is on its way back.

Update (8/20): Unfortunately the reports are not true. Craig Bartlett himself has confirmed to X/Twitter account Hey Arnold Perfect Shots that there are currently no talks with Paramount for a Hey Arnold! revival.

However, it's not all bad news: to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Hey Arnold!, a The Music of Hey Arnold! Live tour has been announced, featuring Jim Lang, the PS 118 Players, and special appearances by Craig Bartlett!

Update (8/25): In a post on his official Instagram, Craig Bartlett commented: "Here to tell you that the stories this week about being in talks w Paramount are not true. Joe made some comments that were taken out of context. Sorry gang, but don’t worry, there’s lots of Arnold stuff to keep me busy all year!"

Gerald and Arnold from 'Hey Arnold!'
Nickelodeon

Hey Arnold! writer Joe Purdy recently addressed the possibility of a revival of the beloved animated Nickelodeon series. Created by Craig Bartlett, Hey Arnold! chronicled the everyday adventures of fourth-grader Arnold Shortman as he navigated friendship, family, and the chaos of the fictional city of Hillwood. The series premiered on Nickelodeon on October 7, 1996, and ran for five seasons and 100 episodes, along with a theatrical film, before concluding its run on June 8, 2004. In 2017, Hey Arnold!: The Jungle Movie delivered the long-awaited closure fans had sought for more than a decade when Arnold goes on a search for his long-missing parents.

During an interview with The Direct at MultiCon 2026, Hey Arnold! writer and producer Joe Purdy was asked if there have been recent conversations about reviving the Nickelodeon series. Purdy confirmed that discussions are "absolutely" happening amongst decision-makers at Paramount, the parent company of Nickelodeon:

"Absolutely. Yes, yes, yes. There is an ever-changing environment of the business and people who are making decisions. It's the cliche story... But be sure we are [having conversations]."

Purdy's remarks about the "ever-changing environment" of the business are tied to the major leadership changes at Paramount since Skydance Media's acquisition of the company. The $8 billion deal closed in August 2025, ending decades of Redstone family control and installing Skydance founder David Ellison as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Paramount Skydance.

When pressed further about potential storylines and aging up characters in a reboot, Purdy emphasized that any future story would keep the characters only  "a year or two older:"

"Absolutely, good question. We're asked that a lot. Would they be much older? Probably not. I think a year or two older. They're so beloved."

Asked whether the series would remain set in the '90s, Purdy said he is unsure, but he pointed out that adding "some technology" could enrich the story while teasing that they are "ready to go" with several ideas and storylines if given the chance:

"I don't know still in the.... I think it's just to add some technology, also.  It'd be a little strange, if not. So, that would definitely be a huge difference. We have many, many ideas and storylines, so we're sort of ready to go. But I don't think it would be an abrupt, 'They're in high school.'"

Hey Arnold! cast of characters
Nickelodeon

The Direct also spoke with Hey Arnold! creator Craig Bartlett about the potential of seeing a revival. Reflecting on how the series might evolve, Bartlett emphasized the enduring nostalgia for the 1990s while stressing the importance of acknowledging change:

"So, we talk about the '90s, which is really the conversation, because people are so nostalgic for the '90s, and for good reason. There's a lot going on. It was really booming. It was boom times. When we got the chance to make The Jungle Movie, that came out in 2017. So already, almost 20 years had gone by, and so the question was, 'What's happened to Arnold's neighborhood?' And we had some gentrification going on. So, I would continue that gentrification thing, and... If you think about, I always like Brooklyn as a model, because Brooklyn has been gentrified like crazy in my lifetime, and it's kind of good and bad, and I think that would be kind of the interesting story: what's good about the changes and the progress, and what's been lost?"

Bartlett then addressed what narrative opportunities a modern reboot of Hey Arnold! could explore that were less feasible during the original run, noting that the show would likely still avoid overt politics and create stories that can hold up over time:

"Yeah, we probably would still not be political... You had to be careful not to be too topical, is kind of the main point, because cartoons are supposed to be evergreen. They're supposed to be, a '90s cartoon can play perfectly well now, because we had an eye toward that. And technology keeps changing. That's the biggest change is technology. And when we made 'The Jungle Movie' in 2017, we gave Rhonda a cell phone, but all the other kids didn't have one. I think they'd all have to have smartphones now, I'm afraid. And maybe that would be one of the things we'd talk about; Attention spans getting frayed by having a little computer in your hand all day long."

Interest in expanding the Hey Arnold! universe is nothing new. In July 2022, a supposed spinoff for Hey Arnold! focusing on Helga Pataki and her dysfunctional family made headlines after pages from an old show bible surfaced online (later covered by Collider). Bartlett confirmed in an April 2023 interview on Jordan Fringe's YouTube channel that the leaked materials were genuine. The project, titled The Patakis, had been pitched around 2000 as a more mature continuation aimed at Nick at Nite or MTV, following a teenage Helga after Arnold had moved away.

Revivals are nothing new for beloved shows from earlier generations. Ben 10 had its own revival that introduced major redesigns for its aliens and a fresh continuity, while other franchises took varied approaches. This ranged from faithful continuations like Samurai Jack's Adult Swim return to full-scale reboots of hit cartoons like Rugrats in 2021 and The Powerpuff Girls in 2016. In 2019, Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling, a TV movie based on another of Nickelodeon's beloved '90s Nicktoons, bowed on Netflix, and saw Rocko, Heffer and Filburt blast back down to earth following the events of the series finale and grapple with modern life today.

More than two decades after its original run ended and nearly a decade after The Jungle Movie provided a well-earned closure, Hey Arnold! could still have a revival to expand and deeply explore the characters in a modern setting.

Joe Purdy and Craig Bartlett's comments at MultiCon 2026 paint a consistent picture of what a Hey Arnold! reboot would look like: one that keeps the core characters and tone largely intact, with only modest updates for technology and the evolving neighborhood rather than a radical reinvention.

Potential storylines could build on those ideas. Arnold and his friends might grapple with the arrival of smartphones, while the town could face challenges from new establishments such as coffee shops and art galleries. Characters like Phoebe could navigate academic pressure, while Gerald could still continue inventing elaborate urban legends with their own modern takes.

With a dedicated fanbase that has kept the series alive through petitions and reunions, and with the original talent prepared with creative ideas, a proper continuation would not only satisfy longtime viewers but also introduce a new generation to one of Nickelodeon's most empathetic and enduring stories - and smooth jazz.

It's important to note that, at the time of posting, a Hey Arnold! revival is still to be given the greenlight.

Nickelodeon May and the Monsters: Paramount Files Trademark for New Nickelodeon Project

Paramount Skydance Corporation, the parent company of the Nickelodeon brand, has applied to register Nickelodeon May and the Monsters with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), it has been revealed!

Nickelodeon Splat Logo (2023 Rebrand)
Nickelodeon

According to the recently made filing, Paramount (under Viacom International Inc.) has applied to trademark Nickelodeon May and the Monsters under NICE class 41 for Education and Entertainment Services, which is for Goods & Services pertaining to "entertainment services, namely, an ongoing multimedia program featuring animation distributed via various platforms across multiple forms of transmission media; Providing a non-downloadable multimedia program series featuring animation via a video-on-demand service; Providing on-line entertainment information, namely, information about television programming".

The trademark application was made on Monday, July 27, 2026, and is still pending at the time of writing.

Not much information about Nickelodeon May and the Monsters is currently available, including whether it'll be a TV series or special, for digital (YouTube), streaming (Paramount+) or linear TV (a Nickelodeon channel), or whether it'll be aimed towards preschoolers or older children, however, there is a similarly named children's book titled Waverly May and the Monsters of Lake Michigan, which, aimed towards children aged 4-9, is written to help kids learn how to face and beat their fears.

'Waverly May and the Monsters of Lake Michigan' Book Cover
Blake Kooi, Becky Kooi

Written by licensed counselors Blake Kooi and Becky Kooi and first published on January 4, 2020, in Waverly May and the Monsters of Lake Michigan:

Waverly May is visiting Lake Michigan for the first time. But what does she hear as she walks down the path towards the beach? Are those monsters roaring? With dragons, slime monsters, and ogres on the loose, how can Waverly May survive? With the help of her creative parents, Waverly May learns that she can tame any monster that comes her way! In this delightful children’s story, the seemingly irrational fears that children experience are validated and turned into opportunities for bravery, growth, and adventure. Blake and Becky Kooi are licensed counselors who use their knowledge of child development to empower children and adults to cope with the fears, frustrations, and fulfillment of growing up. Through their work as counselors, Blake and Becky have noticed that many mental and emotional struggles come from how people have been taught to react to life’s obstacles. In Waverly May and the Monsters of Lake Michigan, children ages 4 to 9 will learn to overcome their fears while parents of all ages will learn to join their children in that battle.

The independently published book is available on Amazon.

However, whilst similarly named, it is important to note that, for the time being, this is purely speculation and that the Nickelodeon project Paramount has filed to trademark may not be associated with the book after all.

LEGO SpongeBob Sets Could Possibly Be Making a Comeback After 13 Years

SpongeBob SquarePants-themed LEGO sets could be set to be making a comeback in 2026, according to a new fan theory citing some recently emerged circumstantial evidence. The speculation centers on a small but notable trail of Nickelodeon-related licensing developments, similar to patterns seen with several other popular IPs just ahead of their LEGO collaborations being confirmed.

LEGO SpongeBob SquarePants (Fan Designed)
A fan designed LEGO SpongeBob set. | LEGO Ideas / Lanko

SpongeBob already had an official LEGO theme, launched in 2006 through a partnership between Nickelodeon and the LEGO Group. The collaboration produced more than a dozen sets, with the final releases arriving in 2012 before being discontinued the following year. Since then, the SpongeBob license has changed hands multiple times in the brick-style toy market. Mega Bloks acquired the rights in 2014, releasing a line of construction toys, followed by Kawada in 2020, which used SpongeBob for Nanoblocks, its range of micro-building kits. In late 2023, AREA-X introduced its own SpongeBob line, launching 27 themed products over the next two years.

AREA-X has now announced that it's discontinuing all of its SpongeBob products at the end of 2025. This isn't a case of a line being retired by ending production, but products being actively delisted from all storefronts even if supplies still exist. Such a development suggests AREA-X's SpongeBob license may have expired, meaning the company no longer has the rights to use Nickelodeon's beloved franchise for commercial purposes. The newly confirmed product delistings are scheduled for Tuesday, December 30, 2025.

The discontinuation of AREA-X’s SpongeBob SquarePants connecting block sets has prompted speculation that the iconic Nickelodeon franchise could soon return in LEGO form. As noted by Brick Fanatics, it is not uncommon for a LEGO competitor to lose a high-profile IP license shortly before that IP reappears under the LEGO brand. A similar pattern was observed earlier this year when Mattel's Mega brand announced it would stop selling its Pokemon products in December 2025, only for LEGO to announce its first-ever Pokemon collaboration a day later.

Since LEGO's discontinuation of its SpongeBob line, fans have been trying to bring the brand back to LEGO by creating fan sets using LEGO Ideas (aka Cuusoo).

Another circumstantial indicator supporting the LEGO SpongeBob comeback theory is the video game tie-in angle, centered on the new Fortnite crossover with SpongeBob. If the franchise were to reappear in LEGO form shortly afterward, it would mirror the pattern seen with The Simpsons, which received both a Fortnite collaboration and new LEGO sets in 2025. There's also the new SpongeBob movie, Search for SquarePants, which was released on Friday, December 19, further strengthening the possibility of additional licensed merchandise hitting the market in the near future.

Under the original partnership, LEGO released a raft of SpongeBob LEGO sets, including: Krusty Krab, Build-A-Bob, Adventures in Bikini Bottom, The Chum Bucket, Mrs. Puff's Boating School, The Bikini Bottom Express, Rocket Ride, SpongeBob’s Emergency, Krusty Krab Adventures, Good Neighbors at Bikini Bottom, Heroic Heroes of the Deep,Glove World, The Flying Dutchman, and Bikini Bottom Undersea Party.

LEGO’s past SpongeBob SquarePants sets were primarily aimed at younger audiences, ages 5 to 7 and up. It is unclear whether that approach would continue if the franchise returns as a LEGO theme in the near future. Recent rumors about 18+ Pokemon LEGO sets suggest that as core audiences age, the Danish toymaker may increasingly explore adult-oriented builds.

As for AREA-X, the Chinese brand is still selling 18 SpongeBob products via its official website until December 30. Prices range from $19.50 for Rolling in Money (Mr. Krabs Version) to $154 for SpongeBob's Pineapple House. Each individual purchase qualifies for a mystery gift, valued at $9.90, as part of the retailer's 2025 holiday season promotion.

Is Patrick Star Leaving 'SpongeBob SquarePants'? Here's What You Need to Know

Fans of Nickelodeon's beloved SpongeBob SquarePants animated series are worried that Patrick Star is leaving the show. The concern stems from the rumors that surfaced online a few days ago. But is the long-running show really planning to write out the fan-favorite character, leaving SpongeBob without his lovable but dim-witted BFF?

SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star
Nickelodeon

Here are the details on the situation.

Is Patrick Star really leaving SpongeBob SquarePants?

Thankfully, the answer is no, Patrick Star is not leaving SpongeBob SquarePants.

Neither the show's showrunners nor Nickelodeon, the show’s broadcast network, has made any official announcement suggesting the character’s exit. Until credible sources confirm it, the claim should be treated as just rumors.

Additionally, in an October 2024 interview with Variety, Bill Fagerbakke, Patrick Star’s voice actor, said that he wants to voice the character for as long as he can. “I’m doing this magnificent job until my voice box is laid out on an examination table somewhere,” he told Variety.

More than a year and a half has passed since that interview, and a lot could have changed. However, Fagerbakke has not made any recent official announcements indicating he is stepping away from the role. And whilst the Superstar Sea Star Savior does star in his own spin-off series, The Patrick Star Show, the series is a prequel to the main show, with a younger Patrick and SpongeBob.

So, fans can rest assured that Patrick Star will continue to keep appearing on the show with Fagerbakke as its voice actor.

The speculation appears to have begun after several entertainment news outlets reported on the claims last week, which stemmed from an Instagram post from a user named @wasted. The rumor claimed that Patrick Star will make his final appearance in an upcoming episode. Some posts even speculated that the character would be written out of the show by being killed off. This immediately raised concerns among the show’s fans.

While some fans treated the claims seriously, others dismissed them as just rumors. One fan even took to Reddit to express their frustration about social media being flooded with false rumors.

Fans can catch the latest all-new episodes of SpongeBob SquarePants Fridays at 5:00 p.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon, with its landmark 17th season set to debut on Friday, June 12, 2026. Fans can also catch older episodes all this summer on NickSpongeBob on Nicktoons.

‘Dutton Ranch’ Showrunner Chad Feehan Leaves Show Weeks Before Series Premiere

The Yellowstone spinoff Dutton Ranch is going to have to rustle up a new showrunner.

Chad Feehan, who served as showrunner on the show’s first season, will not be returning in that role should it get renewed for Season 2, Variety has confirmed. Given Yellowstone mastermind Taylor Sheridan‘s successful track record at Paramount+, that renewal seems more than likely.

Showrunner changes on Taylor Sheridan series are fairly common. It is unclear whether Feehan will be replaced if/when Dutton Ranch is renewed for a second season; a number of series in the Taylor-verse don’t have traditional writing showrunners, often relying on directors who serve in that capacity on set.

Dutton Ranch follows Beth (Kelly Reilly) and Rip (Cole Hauser) after the events of the mothership series. It will debut with its first two episodes on Friday, May 15 on Paramount+ and at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Paramount Network, followed by one new episode weekly thereafter. The first season consists of nine episodes.

It is unclear when exactly Feehan departed the new series, but sources have told Deadline that he oversaw the finished first season. As for the reasons why he won’t be returning, while he delivered as a writer, Feehan faced challenges handling the bold-faced cast, a key component of showrunner’s job.

According to a report from Puck, Reilly, Hauser, Sheridan, and 101 Studios boss David Glasser were unsatisfied with Feehan’s handling of the production upon completion of the first season. Feehan is also the credited creator of the series, based on characters created by Sheridan and John Linson. This is the second Sheridan series Feehan had created following Lawmen: Bass Reeves.

This is the latest showrunner drama on a Sheridan series. It was previously reported that Tulsa King went into production on its fourth season without a showrunner in place. Instead, it relied on Scott Stone, executive in charge of production from 101 Studios, to oversee the show day to day. Prior to that, Dave Erickson was set to showrun the Tulsa King spinoff Frisco King (fka NOLA King), but he was removed from that role before cameras rolled.

The official logline for the show states, “As Beth and Rip fight to build a future together – far from the ghosts of Yellowstone – they collide with brutal new realities and a ruthless rival ranch that will stop at nothing to protect its empire. In South Texas, blood runs deeper, forgiveness is fleeting, and the cost of survival might just be your soul.”

The cast of Season 1 also includes Finn Little (who played Carter in the original show), Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, J.R. Villarreal, Marc Menchaca, Natalie Alyn Lind, and Ed Harris and Annette Bening

Sheridan and Linson executive produce along with Glasser, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Alexandra Voros, Michael Friedman, Hauser, Reilly, and Keith Cox. In addition to executive producing, Voros also directed multiple episodes this season, including the premiere and the season finale. Greg Yaitanes, Jessica Lowrey, and Phil Abraham also served as directors this season. Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios produce.

Update (5/25) - With Dutton Ranch losing its creator and showrunner nearly a month before its premiere, Christina Voros has shared her reaction.

The Paramount+ show’s executive producer and director praised Chad Feehan for “creating a world for these characters to move into” with the Yellowstone spin-off, which he departed after completing the first season.

“I think Chad [Feehan] did an exceptional job building a world of adversaries for Rip and Beth to come up against in this new chapter of their lives,” Voros told ScreenRant. “As far as the dynamics behind his departure and this is our first — we haven’t come out into the world yet, so any speculation about a season 2 is beyond my knowledge. I’m grateful to him and his team for creating a world for these characters to move into.”

Paramount’s Warner Bros. Discovery Takeover Expected To Breach Its SkyShowtime Venture With Comcast - Report

Paramount’s $110 billion acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) is expected to create complications for its SkyShowtime partnership with Comcast, Deadline reports.

SkyShowtime Logo

Industry sources said Paramount’s proposed ownership of HBO Max will likely put the David Ellison-run company in breach of its joint venture agreement for SkyShowtime, a streaming service available in 22 European markets, boasting more than 9 million subscribers, per insiders.

SkyShowtime declined to comment. Paramount declined to comment on “speculation” regarding SkyShowtime. Comcast did not respond to a request for comment.

Deadline understands that the 50-50 pact between Paramount and Comcast means they do not compete with SkyShowtime in the territories where the streamer is available.

Paramount+ is accessible in seven European markets, but there is no overlap with SkyShowtime. Indeed, Paramount+ withdrew from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, and Finland in 2022 to make way for SkyShowtime. Comcast has not rolled out Peacock internationally, and SkyShowtime is not available in the UK, where the company owns Sky.

Paramount absorbing HBO Max would significantly change this dynamic. HBO Max operates in 21 of SkyShowtime’s 22 markets, including key territories such as Spain and the Nordics. Ellison has signalled that he intends to combine Paramount+ and HBO Max. “That would go against the whole joint venture thing,” said a well-placed person.

Sources close to SkyShowtime said Paramount’s WBD deal had created palpable uncertainty among employees, leading to speculation about how the mega-merger will affect SkyShowtime’s shareholder structure.

Change is anticipated, with sources suggesting that it would make sense for Paramount to take over the SkyShowtime arrangement, or at least become the dominant partner. Comcast co-CEO Mike Cavanagh indicated as recently as March that the company was focused on its U.S. streaming strategy.

“A scenario in which Paramount assumes full control of the [SkyShowtime] platform and integrates it into its operations in EMEA is increasingly viewed as a likely strategic outcome,” said a source familiar with the thinking.

Paramount is currently seeking regulatory approval for the WBD deal and has said that it expects the acquisition to close in the third quarter of this year.

Deadline revealed last year that Paramount and Comcast have invested at least $1 billion into SkyShowtime since its launch, but sources said they do get a return on their investment because the streamer buys their content and generates subscription and ad revenue.

SkyShowtime is stocked with series like Sky Studios’ The Day of the Jackal and Taylor Sheridan’s Yellowstone, which has been a driver of subscriptions. It also hosts originals, such as Swedish drama Where the Sun Always Shines, which recently cast Game of Thrones star Kristofer Hivju, along with the latest Star Trek series, and a library of Nickelodeon shows. The streamer made an operating loss of €543.7M ($632M) in 2024, which was 3% down on 2023, when its losses stood at €561.9M.

SkyShowtime is based out of Sky’s campus on the outskirts of central London, but brought together its 300 employees for an all-hands offsite meeting in Budapest in January. Those present said Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Monty Sarhan was in an ebullient mood, high-fiving employees, talking up the company’s performance, and committing to a new set of leadership pledges.

According to a copy of the commitments seen by Deadline, they included the pledge: “Try to maintain a positive and optimistic outlook, even in the face of challenges. Things are never as good – or as bad – as we think they are.”

Sources said this has not been straightforward amid shareholder uncertainty, and that some internal employee mood metrics have been below benchmarks. SkyShowtime’s position is that employee feedback after the Budapest gathering was “overwhelmingly positive.”

A Paramount spokesperson said: “SkyShowtime continues to operate under its established joint venture agreement. We don’t comment on speculation about contractual matters between shareholders.”

Keith Cox Set to Leave Paramount After 20 Years, Poised To Join Chris McCarthy & Co. At NBCUniversal

Another legacy Paramount TV executive is leaving in the wake of the Skydance merger. Company veteran Keith Cox, who has served as programming president for multiple brands, including TV Land, Paramount Network and Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, is departing after two decades. His last day is Friday, June 5.

(Clockwise from Top Left) 'Hot in Cleveland', 'Younger', 'Yellowstone', 'Mobland', 'Landman', Keith Cox' and 'Emily in Paris' | Paramount; Deadline

Cox’s future plans have not been revealed but Deadline has heard that he is negotiations to join his former boss, Chris McCarthy, at NBCUniversal where the former Former Paramount co-Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has set up shop. It is part of McCarthy reassembling a close-knit team of key auspices, which includes David Glasser and his 101 Studios, who moved to NBCU at the start of the year, MobLand Executive Producer (EP) Jez Butterworth, who recently signed a five-year deal with Universal Entertainment, and Taylor Sheridan who is making the transition at the start of 2029.

At Paramount, Cox most recently was at the newly relaunched Paramount Television Studios whose President Matt Thunell announced his departure in an internal memo. In the company email, which you can read below, and in Cox’s own farewell message to staff, the two recount some of Cox’s biggest accomplishments during his 20-year tenure.

Originally hired in 2006 as Executive Vice President (EVP) Development and Original Programming for TV Land, Cox turned the cable network from a graveyard for old sitcoms to a legitimate original comedy player with the hit multi-cam sitcom Hot In Cleveland, which ran for 128 episodes. He then changed things up, bringing Darren Star into the fold for TV Land’s first single-camera series, romcom Younger, which ran for seven seasons, helped reinvigorate Star’s career and, years after its finale found new audience on Netflix. The duo’s shorthand led to Star making his followup series Emily In Paris with Cox at MTV Entertainment Studios, first for Paramount Network before it moved to Netflix where it became one of the streamer’s signature comedies.

In his next gig as head of programming for then newly-rebranded Paramount Network, Cox greenlighted Yellowstone from Sheridan and Glasser’s 101 after numerous other networks had passed on the neo-Western. That started a relationship that has yielded a slew of big hits, from Yellowstone and prequels 1883 and 1923 to Tulsa King, Landman, Marshals, The Madison and the recently launched Yellowstone spinoff Dutton Ranch.

Cox also was instrumental in getting Butterworth into the fold, resulting in series MobLand and The Agency, both with 101 Studios. Other series he oversaw include George & Tammy and Waco.

After Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, where Cox was President, was folded into the new Paramount TV Studios following the August 2025 Skydance merger under Thunell, he stayed on and continued to oversee the series under his purview, including the Taylor Sheridan slate and Emily In Paris.

Following Cox’s departure, his direct reports, VP, Paramount Television Studios, Antonia Covault, and VP, Paramount Television Studios, Todd Baynes, will transition to the studio’s current team, reporting into EVP, Head of Current, Carolyn Harris.

Here are the internal memos.

From Matt Thunell:

Team,

I’m reaching out to share some news with you regarding our wonderful colleague Keith Cox. Keith has made the decision to move on from his role with the studio after 20 years of invaluable contributions.
Over his long tenure, Keith helped oversee countless successful and culturally impactful series across the Paramount portfolio. He was an early champion of Taylor Sheridan and helped bring Yellowstone to Paramount Network, where it went on to become the top scripted show on cable and launched a franchise. He played an important role in the expansion of the Taylorverse, including Landman, 1883, 1923, Tulsa King, Mayor of Kingstown, and Lioness, as well as more recent hits like The Madison and Marshals; and the soon-to-debut Dutton Ranch. He also helped launch Jez Butterworth’s successful slate of series with Paramount+, including MobLand and The Agency. Keith has played a foundational role in MTV Entertainment Studios’ scripted success.

Additionally, Keith has been instrumental in the development and launch of a wide range of standout series across Paramount Network and TV Land. These include TV Land’s signature originals Hot in Cleveland and Younger, which helped redefine the network’s scripted identity, and on Netflix, Emily in Paris, which went on to become a global hit.

Keith has worked closely alongside some of the industry’s biggest showrunners, including Darren Star, Terry Winter, and Jez Butterworth, while also collaborating with longtime partner David Glasser and 101 Studios.

Most importantly, Keith is a respected leader and has been an incredible partner to both Dana [Goldberg] and me from our first days at Paramount. We are grateful for his leadership, collaboration, and the impact he has had on our teams, creative partners, and franchises.

Over the next few weeks, Keith will work on a transition with his talented senior creative team, Todd Baynes and Antonia Covault, who have been shepherding these successes alongside Keith and our partners at 101 Studios. Both Antonia and Todd will continue to work closely with me, and will now report to Carolyn Harris, Head of Current Series.

Please join me in thanking Keith for his many contributions. We wish you the best and will miss you deeply!

Matt

From Keith Cox:

As I mark my two decades at this amazing company, I wanted to send a note of thanks as I embark on my next chapter.

Twenty years ago this month, I packed my bags and moved to New York City to join Viacom and work at the TV Land network. Back then, all the Viacom channels were ramping up their original programming, and since TV Land was home to some of the most celebrated comedies of all time, the company decided to try its hand at original comedies of its own.

We broke out of the gate with the incredibly successful HOT IN CLEVELAND. The night we shot the pilot, when Betty White walked onto the stage, the audience gave her a standing ovation that seemed to last 10 minutes. We knew that night we had something special. HOT IN CLEVELAND went on for six seasons, won multiple awards, and helped establish TV Land as a legitimate original programming destination, paving the way for our first single-camera comedy, YOUNGER.

YOUNGER, created by the iconic Darren Star, ran for seven seasons and became one of the defining shows of the studio. Darren had already created multiple global television hits, and it was incredibly rewarding to partner with him in building another. That creative relationship eventually led us to EMILY IN PARIS, which we sold to Netflix, where it became one of their most successful comedy series worldwide. I remain incredibly proud of the teams, both creatively and behind the scenes, who helped make these series so special.

Then came 2018. The company decided to rebrand Spike as Paramount Network, and Bob Bakish asked me to head up development under Kevin Kay. It was quite an honor, but we knew we had to make an impact quickly and build a slate that could redefine the network.

In a breakfast meeting with David Glasser, Kevin and I heard a pitch described as “The Godfather in Montana.” We immediately saw the potential. A month later, we met with Taylor Sheridan and bought YELLOWSTONE in the room.

What followed exceeded anything we could have imagined. YELLOWSTONE became the #1 scripted show on television and launched what Chris McCarthy would later call the Taylorverse. With Taylor at the center of it all, we built one of the most compelling lineups in television: MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN, LIONESS, TULSA KING, LANDMAN, THE MADISON, 1883, 1923, CBS’s mega hit MARSHALS, and the upcoming DUTTON RANCH.

One of the things I’m proudest of is how aggressively and passionately this company supported these shows from the very beginning. With talented teams across every department rowing in the same direction, we were able to launch an unprecedented number of successful series in a remarkably short amount of time.

Most recently, our expansion into London led us to another exceptional creator, Jez Butterworth. Through my partnership with David Glasser, we brought Jez into the fold with an overall deal that led to the critically acclaimed THE AGENCY and MOBLAND.

Getting the opportunity to identify, develop, and produce these shows with creators like Darren, Taylor, and Jez is what has made this chapter of my career so fulfilling. But equally fulfilling has been working closely with my creative partners Antonia Covault and Todd Baynes, who have been on this journey with me since the beginning, and who I know will continue to shepherd these shows moving forward.
I’m incredibly confident that with Dana and Matt at the studio and Cindy, Jane, and Chris at Paramount+, these shows and franchises will continue to thrive. They care deeply about the work, the creators, and the audiences.

I apologize if this farewell reads a little like an IMDb page, but these shows were never just titles on a slate. They were years of collaboration, creative risk-taking, belief, hard work, and friendship. Our shows define our company, and our company is defined by its people.

What I will miss most are the people who made these 20 years so memorable.
And with that, I say thank you for 20 amazing years.

Keith

New 'Henry Danger' Spin-Off Reportedly In the Works

Could we be heading back to the Dangerverse?

A planned spin-off from Nickelodeon's superhero comedy franchise Henry Danger is reportedly in development.

Last April, Production Weekly revealed that a Untitled Henry Danger Spinoff was heading into production, following the success of Henry Danger: The Movie earlier in the year, although, after months of no updates, the project was thought to have been shelved.

However, it seems that Paramount and Nickelodeon may have had a change of Hart, so to speak!

A new report suggests that the Henry Danger Universe may be about to expand with a new spin-off that could introduce a different set of central characters. According to industry scooper MyTimeToShineHello, development is currently underway on the new Henry Danger spin-off.

The new report, shared on X (formerly Twitter), states that the planned spin-off will shift focus and introduce a different set of central characters. According to industry scooper MyTimeToShineHello, the planned spin-off will focus on new leads, with Jace Norman no longer attached to the project. Instead, the story is said to focus on previously unexplored aspects of the Hart family’s background. The post reads, “With the shift of the ‘HENRY DANGER’ spin-off to a limited series and Jace Norman out, the focus is officially moving to the Hart family’s ‘hidden’ history.”

Casting is reportedly in progress for two new lead roles who will drive the story. It includes Mya, a 16-year-old and Charlie, a 12-year-old. As per the post, “MYA (16): Sharp, resilient, and Henry’s half-sister. She’s the new protagonist. CHARLIE (12): Mya’s adoptive sibling and a total superhero history geek.”

The post also provides plot details about the potential spin-off. It reads, “After moving to a town bordering Swellview, a young girl discovers she is related to the presumed-dead Kid Danger, making her the target of a villain determined to use her as bait to flush the hero out of hiding.”

The same report indicates that filming could begin in Wicklow, Ireland, in June 2026.

Below is MyTimeToShineHello's post in full:

SCOOP: With the shift of the ‘HENRY DANGER’ spin-off to a limited series and Jace Norman out, the focus is officially moving to the Hart family’s "hidden" history. Casting is now underway for two new leads:

MYA (16): Sharp, resilient, and Henry’s half-sister. She’s the new protagonist.

CHARLIE (12): Mya’s adoptive sibling and a total superhero history geek.

The Plot from casting follows

‘After moving to a town bordering Swellview, a young girl discovers she is related to the presumed-dead Kid Danger, making her the target of a villain determined to use her as bait to flush the hero out of hiding."

Filming in Wicklow, Ireland Starts this June

It's important to note, however, there has been no official announcement or confirmation of this project from either Nickelodeon or Paramount at the time of posting, so it's best to take this news with a pinch of salt for now.

Henry Danger debuted on Nickelodeon in July 2014 and ran for 128 episodes across five seasons. The series follows the adventures of Henry Hart (Jace Norman) who gets selected by superhero Captain Man (Cooper Barnes) to be his apprentice. After promising to keep his new identity a secret, Henry must navigate a double life balancing the challenges of high school with the crazy adventures of a crime fighter. The series also stars Riele Downs as “Charlotte Page,” Sean Ryan Fox as “Jasper Dunlop,” Ella Anderson as “Piper Hart,” Michael D. Cohen as “Schwoz Schwartz,” and Jeffrey Nicholas Brown as “Jake Hart.”

Following the events of the series finale, the franchise continued in the spin-off Danger Force, which follows four ordinary kids who accidentally acquire extraordinary superpowers as they struggle to keep their identities a secret. Under the guidance of indestructible veteran superhero Captain Man and his odd-but-brilliant assistant Schwoz, the team battles the many villains they accidentally released from Swellview prison years ago. Along with Barnes and Cohen reprising their respective roles, the series starred Havan Flores as “Chapa”, Terrence Little Gardenhigh as “Miles”, Dana Heath as “Mika”, and Luca Luhan as “Bose.”

In 2025, Kid Danger returned in Henry Danger: The Movie, which picks up on the superhero's latest adventures in Dystopia. The film features Jace Norman, Sean Ryan Fox and Ella Anderson reprising their repspective fan-favorite roles, along with franchise regular Frankie Grande as “Frankini,” as well as new cast member, Glee Dango, as “Missy Martin/Superfan.”

'Henry Danger' Spin-Off Reportedly Stalls at Nickelodeon

A planned Henry Danger spin-off has reportedly been shelved.

A planned spin-off from Nickelodeon's superhero comedy franchise Henry Danger has reportedly been shelved.

The news follows Production Weekly revealing in April 2025 that an Untitled Henry Danger Spinoff was heading into production, following the success of Henry Danger: The Movie earlier that year.

However, it seems that Paramount and Nickelodeon may have had a change of Hart, so to speak. In a post on his official X/Twitter page, Joe Menendez, who directed the movie, revealed that whilst a Henry Danger spin-off was being written, the project never actually got past the writing stage.

Although not confirmed, it is thought that the decision to not move forward on the spin-off may be down to the Paramount-Skydance merger. In the lead up to the merger, Paramount Global had to undertake a series of cost-cutting measures, which have continued post merger.

At the time of posting, little-to-no information about the proposed spin-off has been revealed, however, it was speculated that the spin-off would have been aimed towards an older audience who grew up watching the original series. It has also been rumored that the spin-off would have been produced as a mini-series for Netflix. However, none of these rumors have been confirmed.

Henry Danger debuted on Nickelodeon in July 2014 and ran for 128 episodes across five seasons. The series follows the adventures of Henry Hart (Jace Norman) who gets selected by superhero Captain Man (Cooper Barnes) to be his apprentice. Paramount Reportedly Shuts Down Production On New 'Garfield' Animated Series

Paramount has reportedly decided to cancel production on an untitled Garfield animated series.

Garfield

In a post on Facebook, veteran animator Bob Camp, who previously worked on The Ren & Stimpy Show and currently works as a Storyboard Supervisor on The Patrick Star Show, a spin-off from SpongeBob SquarePants, revealed in a Facebook post that he has heard that Paramount may have "shut down the Garfield series" at Nickelodeon following Paramount's merger with Skydance. However, Camp later followed up his comment admitting that he wasn't sure how accurate the information was.

There has been murmurings of a new Garfield animated series being in the works at Nickelodeon for some time. In 2019, when Paramount (then Viacom) acquired the Garfield franchise for Nickelodeon, Paramount revealed in a press release that Nickelodeon was planning to develop a new Garfield animated series. Then, in August 2025, Snipple Animation hinted that they were attached to the project.

Although the status of Nickelodeon's Garfield project is currently unknown, the Garfield franchise continues to thrive as a whole. In addition to the on-going Garfield comic strip, the Monday-hating feline continues to feature in consumer products, including video games and an upcoming Baby Garfield comic series from BOOM! Studios. There is also a sequel to 2024's The Garfield Movie in the works from Alcon Entertainment and Sony Pictures.
