UPDATE - Nickelodeon UK Fanblog NickUKHub are reporting that the brand new episode of "Life With Boys" that Nickelodeon UK will be premiering on Saturday 24th November 2012, as part of a special Premiere Weekend, will be "Birthdays with Boys", instead of "Bathroom Battles with Boys".

In the brand new episode of "Life with Boys" titled "Birthdays with Boys", Tess' Dad wants to throw her a "Foster Funplex Birthday Extravaganza" for the fifth year in a row but Tess, who is trying not to make her 15th birthday feel like a child's birthday, would rather do something more group-up - more specifically, go to a movie premiere with her friend, Allie. Finding it hard to tell her father the truth, she accidentally makes her Dad believe she would rather go skydiving. Guest Stars: Austin Macdonald as Andy Jacobs.

In the brand new episode of "Life with Boys" called "Bathroom Battles with Boys", each morning there is disagreement within the Foster family over the bathroom. "Life with Boys" is a Canadian teen sitcom that started broadcasting on Nickelodeon UK in October 2011. With the help of her best friend Allie Brooks (Madison Pettis), she pulls through. Each half-hour episode follows 14-year-old Tess Foster as she navigates her way through the turmoil of teen life while living at home with her single, overprotective dad and three brothers. Although Tess adores the four important men in her life, they do have four totally different perspectives. Despite the shortcomings of being the only girl in a male household, the boys can sometimes offer solid advice. Whether it's building up the courage to talk to a boy, dealing with an obnoxious one, or coping with the repercussions of being the only girl on the boys' wrestling team, "Life With Boys" sheds a comedic light on many of life's difficult moments.

"Life with Boys" was created by Michael Poryes (co-creator and executive producer of the Disney Channel shows "Hannah Montana" and "That's So Raven") and Douglas Lieblein (co-executive producer "Hannah Montana").

It was one of the most hotly tipped brands from BLE, and now Platinum Films is looking to forge ahead with its plans for Matt Hatter Chronicles. We find out more.

And, judging by the positive reaction at Brand Licensing Europe, it’s just possible he’s succeeded.

Principle photography on the $12 million HD animated series began in 2011. Season one and two represent 26 22-minute episodes, while a third season is already in development. In terms of broadcast, Matt Hatter Chronicles airs on ITV/CITV and Nickelodeon in the UK, Nickelodeon in Australia and New Zealand, RTE in Eire and Teletoon in Canada.

Always an encouraging sign, the global broadcast footprint is rapidly expanding with SABC, South Africa and JCC (Al Jazerra Children’s Channel) in Arabic territories recently acquiring the series. A successful MIP Junior and Mipcom in Cannes earlier this month means more announcements are also due shortly.

In terms of licensing, ITV Studios Global Entertainment (ITVS GE) is representing the rights for merchandising, publishing, promotional and home entertainment in the UK, Eire, Australia and New Zealand.

To date, Penguin is on board for publishing, Topps has signed up for trading cards and sticker collections, Titan will be producing a range of comic magazines in print and digital formats, while a DVD launch is also planned for 2013. There is also tremendous interest in the brand from a toy point of view.

“Matt Hatter Chronicles is fast becoming one of the hottest boy properties,” Stone tells Licensing.biz. “The combination of schoolboy hero Matt versus his nemesis the evil Lord Tenoroc, smart digital content and naturally toyetic realms, vehicles and props – such as Matt’s Multivision Specs and Cell Blaster – are ideal for creating a unique and exciting range of products.”

Platinum has also invested in a fully interactive website, phase one of which launched last month and received 50,000 hits in its debut weekend. The site, which features over 200 pages of content, has been launched as a virtual destination for fans to ‘explore, find and discover’. It includes games, activities, downloads, collectables, gossip and secret info on the characters. Fans can also unlock hidden content from around the site. Phase two of the website will tie into the roll out of the 2013 M&L programme.

So, what makes Matt Hatter different? In such a crowded market, what will make it stand out?

Stone explains: “In a saturated market, Platinum has ensured it has created a property that has immediate stand out appeal and longevity. Platinum are passionate about creating ground-breaking global children’s brand that are truly 360-degree in their approach, innovative and above all, made for and loved by kids. The retail response has been tremendous and there is definitely a buzz about the brand.”
The rest of 2012 will be focused on securing first class licensing and retail partners and consolidating the relationships in the build up to the UK M&L launch in 2013. And longer term? “The long-term strategy is to build the Matt Hatter Chronicles brand as a global franchise and for Matt Hatter to become a household name for budding schoolboy heroes all around the world,” Stone concludes.

Nickelodeon UK Announces Plans To Premiere Brand New Episodes Of "Life With Boys" As Part Of Nickelodeon UK's Autumn/Winter 2012 Programming Line-Up!

Nickelodeon UK has announced the Nickelodeon UK News that Nickelodeon UK is planning to premiere and show brand new episodes of the Canadian teen sitcom "Life with Boys", including the brand new "Life with Boys" episodes "Birthdays with Boys" and "Nightmares with Boys", on Nickelodeon UK and Ireland and Nickelodeon HD UK in November 2012 and December 2012, as part of Nickelodeon UK's Autumn/Winter 2012 highlights!

"Life with Boys" is a Canadian teen sitcom that started broadcasting on Nickelodeon UK in October 2011. It follows Tess Foster (Torri Webster) as she copes with living in a home with just boys: her father, Jack Foster, and three brothers, heartthrob Gabriel Foster, also known as Gabe (Nathan McLeod), studious twin Sam Foster (Michael Murphy), and eight year-old Spencer Foster (Jake Goodman).

In the brand new episode of "Life with Boys" called "Nightmares with Boys", Tess tries getting along with Kaylee (guest star Francesca Martin) after her dad, Jack, starts dating Kaylee's Mum (Mom). However, when civility proves impossible, Tess cooks up a scheme to break up her dad with Kaylee's Mother!

Konami To Get 4Kids' Yu-Gi-Oh! Assets Under Proposed Deal

From Anime News Network:
Konami to Get 4Kids' Yu-Gi-Oh! Assets Under Proposed Deal

Tentative proposal would transfer Toonzai agreement to Saban affiliate

On Friday, North American anime distributor 4Kids filed a notice in its bankruptcy case that outlines who will take over its contracts and obligations. Under a proposed agreement, Kidsco Media Ventures LLC (an affiliate of Saban Capital) and 4K Acquisition Corp. (an indirect subsidiary of Japan's Konami Corporation) would divide the assets and obligations of 4Kids.

The proposed agreement has not been finalized, since Judge Shelley C. Chapman still has to approve the proposed agreement after a June 20 hearing.

If approved, the "Proposed Transaction" would assign several 4Kids contracts to Saban's Kidsco Media Ventures, including the following:

* The CW Network's Saturday Morning programming block (currently known as Toonzai) agreement terms

* Four Cubix agreements with Daiwon C & A Holdings, Cinepix, East Japan Marketing & Communications, CSC Media Group

* Dragon Ball agreement terms with Toei Animation and Funimation Productions

* Sonic X agreement with TMS Entertainment

If approved, the proposed transaction would also assign the following contracts and others to Konami's 4K Acquisition Corp.:

* Yu-Gi-Oh! distribution agreement with Warner Bros.

* 2003 Yu-Gi-Oh! movie deal memo with TV Tokyo, Nhon Ad Systems, Shueisha

* Yu-Gi-Oh! 3D: Bonds Beyond Time movie deal memo with TV Tokyo, Nhon Ad Systems

* TV Tokyo's agreement for Yu-Gi-Oh! seasons 1-3

* Nihon Ad Systems's agreement for Yu-Gi-Oh!

* Yu-Gi-Oh! music and soundtrack agreements with Cherry Lane, SKG Music, RCA Music Group

* Yu-Gi-Oh! merchandise license agreements with 2Feet, A&A Global Industries, Bentex Group/Extreme Concepts, Boss Creations International, Coveroo, Konami, and others

* Yu-Gi-Oh! foreign broadcast licenses to Ares Films, Digital Platform Iletisim Hizmetleri, KM Productions, Magus Entertainment, Nickelodeon UK, SIC TV, Televix Entertainment, Turner, United Channels of Israel, YTV, and others

* The lease on 4Kids Entertainment's 23rd/24th Street offices in New York City

The formal bankruptcy auction for "substantially all of [4Kids'] assets" began on June 5 between Konami's 4K Acquisition Corp. and Saban's Kidsco Media Ventures LLC. However, after a series of bids, the auction was adjourned to allow the two parties to consider an agreement that would split 4Kids' assets between them.

Konami is the Japanese licensor and distributor of the Yu-Gi-Oh! card game, while Saban once produced the Fox Kids programming block. (4Kids also once produced Fox's Saturday morning programming until 2008.)
