Powdered Toast Man Has a Toast-Shaped Shine in 'Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl'

Fox and Falco's shine, or Reflector down special, is one of the things that makes the space animals so strong in Super Smash Bros. Melee. Though the special move is intended to act as a reflector against projectiles, it's mostly used as an offensive tool at high level gameplay.

It's clear that Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is taking a number of cues from Super Smash Bros. Melee and Project M. The developers have been quite adamant that the upcoming title will emphasize competitive aspects of the platformer brawler genre.

Though we haven't had a chance to see Powdered Toast Man's full moveset yet, we now know that breakfast-based superhero from Ren & Stimpy will have access to a shine, just like Fox and Falco from Super Smash Bros. Melee.

According to one of the developers for the platform brawler, Powered Toast Man will be able to perform a waveshine. This is done by canceling the attack into a jump that's then canceled into a wavedash.

Since Powdered Toast Man's Shine will have a set amount of knockback, it should be relatively easy to use it for pressure and combos. This of course assumes you have the execution to pull of a waveshine.

True to Powdered Toast Man's character, the Shine is in the shape of a toast. Have a look at it in the screenshot below:

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is slated to be released on October 5, 2021 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and Steam.
