New Delhi, Delhi, India -- Jun 21, 2021 -- The Nickelodeon franchise entertains millions of young fans across India and continues to be the undisputed leader with the flagship channels Nick and Sonic being the No. 1 & No. 2 kids’ entertainment channels in the category. Nickelodeon has pioneered in celebrating International Yoga Day year-on-year with a view to engage its little fans and to lay the foundation of making Yoga a daily practice.

This year, the leader in the kid’s category is taking Yoga Day activities a notch higher and is back with its latest edition of the fun and spirited #YogaSeHiHoga campaign.  As a part of the initiative, the brand has partnered with SARVA Yoga Studios, a wellness start-up, to bring Yoga closer to its little fans and educate them about the enormous benefits derived from Yoga.

Nickelodeon and SARVA are bringing yoga to its audiences in a more cool and fun manner through a unique interactive Yoga workshop with Nicktoons Shiva, Rudra, and Happy. Furthermore, the initiative will be brought alive on social media through a #YogaSeHiHoga program and a Kid Yoga Series through an array of fun short-form videos encouraging kids to imbibe Yoga in their daily lifestyle. All kids must do is upload their picture/video of them doing their favourite yoga pose on nickindia.com and the best ones would get featured on the channel. To emphasize the tremendous advantages that Yoga offers, the brand has collaborated with child prodigies Ishwar Sharma and Harsha Nivetha to come forward and extend their support to the initiative. Through a host of quirky videos and astons on-air, and Yoga workshops by Nicktoons, the entire campaign will be supported by the Ministry of AYUSH.

In 2019, Nickelodeon celebrated International Yoga Day wherein Nicktoons Motu-Patlu performed Yoga with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and 40,000 people at Prabhat Tara ground, Ranchi and collaborated with Mumbai’s biggest Yoga event - ‘Yoga by the Bay’. Yoga Day: Meet child yoga prodigy Harsha Nivetha who is all set to talk about the importance of yoga on Nickelodeon on June 21

This International Yoga Day, we spoke to yoga prodigy Harsha Nivetha who had broken the Guinness World Record for holding the Utthita Padmasana for 174 minutes in December 2017

Harsha Nivetha's tryst with yoga began when she was just three and a half years old and had a slew of low immunity issues, leading to her catching a cold every now and then. That's when her mother enrolled her in a regular yoga class. There has been no looking back since for the 14-year-old yoga prodigy. Nivetha entered the Guinness Book of World Records at the age of 10, in 2017, after she performed a yoga pose that she held for 174 seconds. Hailing from the Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu, she attempted the record at her school, where she balanced herself in the Utthita Padmasana posture for nearly three minutes. She broke the previous record that was held by an American woman who held the same pose for 90 seconds. Later in 2018, her record had also been broken by a kid from Madurai.

This year, Nivetha has been chosen for an International Yoga Day campaign by Nickelodeon where she will be speaking about the importance of yoga and ways to inculcate the habit of practising it regularly, especially among children. A student at the PS Chidambara Nadar Senior English School, Nivetha began taking part in competitions and events when she was five years old. She has even also won several accolades in district-, state- and national-level competitions over the years. Nivetha believes that while regular exercises are meant to keep the body fit and healthy, yoga helps you improve from within. "It helps with the proper functioning of your organs, improves immunity, helps you concentrate and does a lot of other things," she says. 

Speaking about her favourite yoga asana, it doesn't come as a surprise when Nivetha tells us that it is the scale pose, yes, the very pose she won her Guinness record for. "The scale pose is a hand-balancing pose. It's called Tulasana in Sanskrit. It is also called Utthita Padmasana. The asana helps to strengthen the wrists, arms and abdomen, improves your sense of balance and calms your mind. However, Tulasana isn’t recommended for those who aren’t able to perform Padmasana comfortably," explains Nivetha.

Nivetha practises yoga regularly, at least two to three hours a day. She encourages other children of her age to start early as well and shares, "It is beneficial not just for your body, but also for your mind. It will improve emotional and mental well-being. Yoga boosts a child's self-esteem and in terms of the body, it improves balance and flexibility. Yoga also enhances children's cognitive memory power and increases retaining ability. If you practise yoga, you will gain concentration. It also teaches us discipline."

IVI and ViacomCBS Partner to Bring Paramount Play to Online Streaming Service

IVI and ViacomCBS Networks International (VCNI) have expanded their partnership to bring the Paramount Play library to the IVI online video streaming service.


Launching on the platform on Tuesday, June 1, Paramount Play brings IVI viewers access to the Paramount Play streaming platform, which includes a large library of international content from a wide variety of genres. Viewers have access to documentaries, entertainment and children's shows from ViacomCBS brands such as Nickelodeon, Paramount, MTV, Awesomeness and others. Moreover, for the first time in Russia, premieres from the Telefe and Smithsonian brands will be available to IVI users. Linear TV channels Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., MTV and Paramount Comedy are also available in the subscription.

ViacomCBS to Launch TeenNick Channel in Czech Republic in September 2021

ViacomCBS Networks Central and Eastern Europe is set to launch a TeenNick channel in the Czech Republic (Česká republika) in September 2021!


A launch date for TeenNick Česká republika is still to be announced, and it's currently unknown which pan-regional feed the channel will use - the European feed has advertisements, whilst the more global feed doesn't.

Update (21/6) - TeenNick CZ is expected to launch on the O2 TV platform.

The news comes as ViacomCBS has been expanding Nickelodeon's TeenNick brand globally, including launches in Latin America and GreeceHungary and Romania. There are also TeenNick channels in Israel, France and the Middle East.

TeenNick is Nickelodeon's brand exclusively for and about teens and tweens that features a distinct perspective that connects its audience to the electricity and possibilities of teendom, anytime and anywhere, with original series and ever-popular favourites. TeenNick is available in more than 71 million households via cable, digital cable and satellite as well as on mobile, VOD and broadband.

TeenNick will join Nickelodeon, Nick Jr. and Nicktoons in the country.

In questi contenuti, già disponibili sul canale youtube di Nickelodeon, verranno mostrate le bellezze dell’ecosistema marino intervallati da alcuni sketch video in cui SpongeBob aiuta i bambini a comprendere meglio il messaggio. La natura, i nostri giardini, le piante, gli animali, gli esseri viventi e il mare, la casa di SpongeBob sono in pericolo a causa del surriscaldamento dell’acqua del mare e dei cambiamenti climatici, ma non solo. Purtroppo anche le azioni di noi umani incidono su questa situazione ed è arrivato ora il momento di prenderne coscienza e cambiare il nostro comportamento, il prima possibile. Così, l’8 giugno, su Nickelodeon (Sky 605) alle 14:45 andrà in onda una maratona di episodi di SpongeBob. Saranno intervallati da alcune pillole in cui la spugna marina invita i suoi amici sulla terra a rispettare il Pianeta con gentilezza. Nei video verranno mostrate le bellezze dell’ecosistema marino, intervallati da alcuni sketch video in cui SpongeBob aiuta i bambini a comprendere meglio il messaggio.

Per i più piccoli che guardano NickJr (Sky 603) alle ore 20:00 sarà trasmessa la maratona di Baby Shark’s Big Show, la nuovissima serie che ha recentemente debuttato in Italia e che racconta le storie della famiglia di Baby Shark. Insieme a loro i bambini scopriranno quanto è importante l’amicizia, il lavoro di squadra, il rispetto e la gentilezza. Andranno inoltre alla scoperta di nuovi ambienti sottomarini e impareranno l’importanza di un ecosistema in equilibrio per la sopravvivenza di tutte le specie marine.

All’Acquario di Genova sarà invece accesa la Nickroom, un momento social con il talent Daniele Davì. E sempre a Genova, nel Porto Antico, martedì 8 giugno sarà inaugurato il primo Seabin sponsorizzato Nickelodeon e SpongeBob, un vero e proprio cestino del mare per la raccolta dei rifiuti galleggianti, che permetterà di raccogliere dalla superficie dell’acqua circa 1,5 kg di rifiuti al giorno.

Oggi si terrà in Sardegna, sull’isola de La Maddalena, un grande evento istituzionale, promosso da IOC-UNESCO nell’ambito del Decennio delle Scienze del Mare per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile in Italia, intitolato “Tra passato e futuro: verso la Generazione oceano”.

ROMA – Chi sono le 10 sorelle più famose della tv? Sicuramente le sorelle Loud, che dal 21 al 27 giugno saranno le protagoniste indiscusse del pop up channel  A casa dei Loud – Sorelle Pazzerelle, in onda solo su Nickelodeon +1 (canale Sky 606), con tutte le stagioni e alcuni episodi inediti.

Mae Catt Joins Nickelodeon's Animated 'Transformers' Series as Story Editor

Screenwriter Mae Catt has joined the writing crew of Nickelodeon and eOne's upcoming Transformers animated series as a Story Editor. Based at Nickelodeon Animation Studios, Catt started in her new position in May 2021.


The cartoon and horror writer is no stranger to the Transformers, writing the scripts for 12 episodes of Transformers: Cyberverse - currently airing on Nickelodeon in Germany, Austria and Switzerland - and serving as a staff writer on 39 Cyberverse episodes. Catt's credits also include: Spider-Man, 50 States of FrightMarvel Rising: Battle of the Bands, Marvel Rising: Operation Shuri, and Young Justice.

Nickelodeon and Hasbro’s Entertainment One (eOne) announced in February that have partnered to co-produce an original animated Transformers series (26 half-hour episodes), based on the iconic global property. In the action-comedy series, a new species of Transformers must find their place and purpose among Autobots, Decepticons, and the human family that adopts them. The series will premiere exclusively on Nickelodeon in the U.S. in 2022 before rolling out internationally.

The all-new animated Transformers series is executive produced by Ant Ward (Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles), and Nicole Dubuc (Transformers: Rescue Bots) and developed and co-executive produced by Dale Malinowski (Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles). Produced by Nickelodeon Animation Studio, the series is developed for television by Spinelli and Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, Senior Director, Current Series and Development, Animation. Production will be overseen for Nickelodeon by Conrad Montgomery, Vice President, Current Series, Animation and for eOne by Mikiel Houser, Director of TV Development. The series is being animated by Icon Creative Studio in Canada.

YTV Canada to Premiere 'Goldie’s Oldies' on July 2

YTV in Canada will premiere Goldie’s Oldies, Nickelodeon International's brand new live action comedy series on Friday, July 2 at 6:00 p.m. ET/PT!


Goldie’s Oldies stars: Imogen Faires, Laura Barraclough, Ifan Huw Dafydd, Sid Goldman, Melanie Gutteridge, Gareth Hale (Hale and Pace), Josephine Lloyd-Welcome, and Eileen O'Brien.

Announced in October 2019Goldie’s Oldies is a brand new live action comedy series, and the first original commission made exclusively for Nickelodeon International’s channels and platforms in more than 170 territories outside the U.S.

Goldie’s Oldies focuses on the life of teenager Goldie, whose life is turned upside down when her family - Sherri and Danny - moves from the U.S. to England to live with their Grandpa Maury and his ‘70 something’ room mates.

Goldie’s Oldies made its world premiere on Nickelodeon UK & Ireland on Monday 15th March 2021 at 5:30pm.

Goldie’s Oldies, a 20 x 22 minute live action situation comedy filmed in studio and on location, is produced by ViacomCBS’s in-house BAFTA-winning production arm, ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS) UK, marking the studio’s first move into scripted comedy, first commission for Nickelodeon and a significant step into children’s TV production, following previous work for Channel 5’s multiplatform preschool brand, Milkshake!. The series is distributed by VIS Kids.

Goldie’s Oldies, which has an eleven strong global writing team, begun filming in January 2020 and is set to air across Nickelodeon’s international channels in 2021.

VIS UK produced the series out of Manchester, expanding upon the launch of VIS UK’s first regional office at Salford’s dock10 MediaCity UK earlier this year. Goldie’s Oldies will tap into a number of local filming resources, including local on- and off-screen talent, studios, equipment and locations. Filming took place in 2020, briefly taking a break due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.


Goldie’s Oldies was created by Evan Thaler Hickey (Top WingGo Away , Unicorn!The Magic School Bus Rides Again) and the head writer is Mark Oswin (Hunter StreetSo Awkward). It will be executive produced for VIS UK by Trevor Klein.

This is an exciting time for Avatar: The Last Airbender fans. First and foremost, a new production studio has been launched with the original creators to develop animated shows and movies. Netflix is also moving forward with their live-action series. To top it all off, McFarlane Toys has released a magnificent collection of figures that have just gone up for pre-order.

For those who are unfamiliar, Avatar: The Last Airbender was originally created by Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko for Nickelodeon in 2005. The series is set in world people can manipulate the elements of Earth, Water, Fire, and Air, and they lived peacefully in different regions until one of the regions started a world war.

One master who can manipulate all four elements, dubbed the "Avatar," had been able to prevent this war, but disappeared soon after. 100 years later, a new Avatar named Aang awakens and sets out on a journey to master all the elements in order to bring peace to the land once more. The Legend of Korra takes place takes place 70 years after the events of its predecessor, following the next Avatar, a young girl named Korra from the Southern Water Tribe.

Both series continue in success ongoing graphic novel series published by Dark Horse.
